ٱللَّهُ

The One

لَآ

— no

إِلَٰهَ

unchallenged master

إِلَّا

except

هُوَ

Him — who is

ٱلْحَىُّ

the Source of Life,

ٱلْقَيُّومُ

the Firmly Established.

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ

The One — no unchallenged master except Him — who is the Source of Life, the Firmly Established.

Allah! There is no god save Him, the Alive, the Eternal.

نَزَّلَ

Has descended

عَلَيْكَ

upon you

ٱلْكِتَٰبَ

the Book

بِٱلْحَقِّ

with the fact,

مُصَدِّقًۭا

(through it you can have) confirmation

لِّمَا

for what is

بَيْنَ

between

يَدَيْهِ

His hands,

وَأَنزَلَ

and (He) descended

ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ

the Jurisprudence,

وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ

and the Modern Knowledge.

نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ

Has descended upon you the Book with the fact, (through it you can have) confirmation for what is between His hands, and (He) descended the Jurisprudence, and the Modern Knowledge.

He hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture with truth, confirming that which was (revealed) before it, even as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.

مِن

(Has been) from

قَبْلُ

before

هُدًۭى

a guidance

لِّلنَّاسِ

for the people,

وَأَنزَلَ

and descended

ٱلْفُرْقَانَ

the Distinguisher;

إِنَّ

surely

ٱلَّذِينَ

the ones who

كَفَرُوا۟

are in denial

بِـَٔايَٰتِ

regarding signs of

ٱللَّهِ

the One

لَهُمْ

for them is

عَذَابٌۭ

punishment of

شَدِيدٌۭ

great magnitude;

وَٱللَّهُ

and the One is

عَزِيزٌۭ

strong,

ذُو

having

ٱنتِقَامٍ

vengeance.

مِن قَبْلُ هُدًۭى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ شَدِيدٌۭ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌۭ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ

(Has been) from before a guidance for the people, and descended the Distinguisher; surely the ones who are in denial regarding signs of the One for them is punishment of great magnitude; and the One is strong, having vengeance.

Aforetime, for a guidance to mankind; and hath revealed the Criterion (of right and wrong). Lo! those who disbelieve the revelations of Allah, theirs will be a heavy doom. Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong).

before as guidance for mankind, and He has sent down the Criterion. Indeed, there is a severe punishment for those who deny the signs of Allah, and Allah is all-mighty, avenger.

before as a guide for the people and now He has revealed the criteria of discerning right from wrong. Those who reject the revelations of God will face the most severe torment. God is Majestic and capable to revenge.

Surely they who disbelieve in the communications of Allah they shall have a severe chastisement; and Allah is Mighty, the Lord of retribution.

اور اس نے وہ کسوٹی اتاری ہے (جو حق اور باطل کا فرق د کھانے والی ہے) اب جو لوگ اللہ کے فرامین کو قبول کرنے سے انکار کریں، ان کو یقیناً سخت سزا ملے گی اللہ بے پناہ طاقت کا مالک ہے اور برائی کا بدلہ دینے والا ہے

لوگوں کو راہ دکھاتی اور فیصلہ اتارا، بیشک وہ جو اللہ کی آیتوں سے منکر ہوئے ان کے لئے سخت عذاب ہے اور اللہ غالب بدلہ لینے والا ہے،

اور اسی نے اس سے پہلے لوگوں کی ہدایت کے لئے تورات و انجیل نازل کی۔ اور (حق و باطل کا) فیصلہ کن کلام نازل کیا۔ بلاشبہ جو لوگ آیاتِ الٰہی کا انکار کرتے ہیں۔ ان کے لیے بڑا سخت عذاب ہے۔ خدا زبردست ہے (اور برائی کا) بدلہ لینے والا ہے۔

House of Imran [ 3:5 ] آل عمران

إِنَّ

Surely to

ٱللَّهَ

the One

لَا

not

يَخْفَىٰ

is obscure

عَلَيْهِ

upon Him

شَىْءٌۭ

a thing

فِى

within

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the Land,

وَلَا

and not

فِى

within

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

the atmosphere.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَىْءٌۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ

Surely to the One not is obscure upon Him a thing within the Land, and not within the atmosphere.

Lo! nothing in the earth or in the heavens is hidden from Allah.

هُوَ

He is

ٱلَّذِى

the Entity who

يُصَوِّرُكُمْ

shaped you

فِى

ٱلْأَرْحَامِ

the wombs

كَيْفَ

however

يَشَآءُ

He desired,

لَآ

إِلَٰهَ

unchallenged master

إِلَّا

except

هُوَ

He who is

ٱلْعَزِيزُ

the Strongest,

ٱلْحَكِيمُ

the Wisest.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ ۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

He is the Entity who shaped you in the wombs however He desired, no unchallenged master except He who is the Strongest, the Wisest.

He it is Who fashioneth you in the wombs as pleaseth Him. There is no Allah save Him, the Almighty, the Wise.

وہی ہے کہ تمہاری تصویر بناتا ہے ماؤں کے پیٹ میں جیسی چاہے اس کے سوا کسی کی عبادت نہیں عزت والا حکمت والا

وہ (خدا) وہی ہے جو ماں کے پیٹ میں جس طرح چاہتا ہے، تمہاری صورتیں بناتا ہے۔ اس کے سوا کوئی الٰہ نہیں ہے۔ وہ زبردست اور بڑی حکمت والا ہے۔

House of Imran [ 3:7 ] آل عمران

هُوَ

He is

ٱلَّذِىٓ

the Entity who

أَنزَلَ

descended

عَلَيْكَ

upon you

ٱلْكِتَٰبَ

the Book —

مِنْهُ

from it

ءَايَٰتٌۭ

are verses

مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ

that carry rulings and law (Al Torat)

هُنَّ

which are

أُمُّ

main purpose of

ٱلْكِتَٰبِ

the Book —

وَأُخَرُ

and others

مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌۭ

are similes;

فَأَمَّا

so as for

ٱلَّذِينَ

the ones

فِى

قُلُوبِهِمْ

hearts of whom is

زَيْغٌۭ

deviation,

فَيَتَّبِعُونَ

thus follow

مَا

that which

تَشَٰبَهَ

resembles of it (similes)

مِنْهُ

from it,

ٱبْتِغَآءَ

seeking

ٱلْفِتْنَةِ

disobedience

وَٱبْتِغَآءَ

and seeking

تَأْوِيلِهِۦ

its interpretations;

وَمَا

— and not

يَعْلَمُ

knows

تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ

its interpretations

إِلَّا

except

ٱللَّهُ

the One —

وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ

while the stable

فِى

ٱلْعِلْمِ

the knowledge

يَقُولُونَ

say,

ءَامَنَّا

[We are sure

بِهِۦ

about it,

كُلٌّۭ

all is

مِّنْ

from

عِندِ

near

رَبِّنَا

our Nourisher.]

وَمَا

and not

يَذَّكَّرُ

is reminded

إِلَّآ

except

أُو۟لُوا۟

those who are

ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ

having intellect.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايَٰتٌۭ مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌۭ ۖ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌۭ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ ٱلْفِتْنَةِ وَٱبْتِغَآءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۦ ۗ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ۗ وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلٌّۭ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا ۗ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ

He is the Entity who descended upon you the Book — from it are verses that carry rulings and law (Al Torat) which are main purpose of the Book — and others are similes; so as for the ones in hearts of whom is deviation, thus follow that which resembles of it (similes) from it, seeking disobedience and seeking its interpretations; — and not knows its interpretations except the One — while the stable in the knowledge say, [We are sure about it, all is from near our Nourisher.] and not is reminded except those who are having intellect.

He it is Who hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations - they are the substance of the Book - and others (which are) allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissension by seeking to explain it. None knoweth its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Lord; but only men of understanding really heed.

It is He who has sent down to you the Book. Parts of it are definitive verses, which are the mother of the Book, while others are metaphorical. As for those in whose hearts is deviance, they pursue what is metaphorical in it, courting temptation, and seeking its interpretation. But no one knows its interpretation except Allah and those firmly grounded in knowledge; they say, [We believe in it; all of it is from our Lord.] And none takes admonition except those who possess intellect.

It is God who has revealed the Book to you in which some verses are clear statements (which accept no interpretation) and these are the fundamental ideas of the Book, while other verses may have several possibilities. Those whose hearts are perverse, follow the unclear statements in pursuit of their own mischievous goals by interpreting them in a way that will suit their own purpose. No one knows its true interpretations except God and those who have a firm grounding in knowledge say, [We believe in it. All its verses are from our Lord.] No one can grasp this fact except the people of reason.

He it is Who has revealed the Book to you; some of its verses are decisive, they are the basis of the Book, and others are allegorical; then as for those in whose hearts there is perversity they follow the part of it which is allegorical, seeking to mislead and seeking to give it (their own) interpretation. but none knows its interpretation except Allah, and those who are firmly rooted in knowledge say: We believe in it, it is all from our Lord; and none do mind except those having understanding.

اس نے آپ پروہ کتاب نازل کی ہے جس میں سے کچھ آیتیں لَحکم اور واضح ہیں جو اصل کتاب ہیں اور کچھ متشابہ ہیں - اب جن کے دلوں میں کجی ہے وہ ا ن ہی متشابہات کے پیچھے لگ جاتے ہیں تاکہ فتنہ برپا کریں اور من مانی تاویلیں کریں حالانکہ اس کی تاویل کا حکم صرف خدا کو ہے اور انہیں جو علم میں رسوخ رکھنے والے ہیں - جن کا کہنا یہ ہے کہ ہم اس کتاب پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور یہ سب کی سب محکم و متشابہ ہمارے پروردگار ہی کی طرف سے ہے اور یہ بات سوائے صاحبانِ عقل کے کوئی نہیں سمجھ سکتا ہے

وہی خدا ہے، جس نے یہ کتاب تم پر نازل کی ہے اِس کتاب میں دو طرح کی آیات ہیں: ایک محکمات، جو کتاب کی اصل بنیاد ہیں اور دوسری متشابہات جن لوگوں کے دلو ں میں ٹیڑھ ہے، وہ فتنے کی تلاش میں ہمیشہ متشابہات ہی کے پیچھے پڑے رہتے ہیں اور اُن کو معنی پہنانے کی کوشش کیا کرتے ہیں، حالانکہ ان کا حقیقی مفہوم اللہ کے سوا کوئی نہیں جانتا بخلا ف اِس کے جو لوگ علم میں پختہ کار ہیں، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ——ہمارا اُن پر ایمان ہے، یہ سب ہمارے رب ہی کی طرف سے ہیں—— اور سچ یہ ہے کہ کسی چیز سے صحیح سبق صرف دانشمند لوگ ہی حاصل کرتے ہیں

وہی ہے جس نے تم پر یہ کتاب اتاری اس کی کچھ آیتیں صاف معنی رکھتی ہیں وہ کتاب کی اصل ہیں اور دوسری وہ ہیں جن کے معنی میں اشتباہ ہے وہ جن کے دلوں میں کجی ہے وہ اشتباہ والی کے پیچھے پڑتے ہیں گمراہی چاہنے اور اس کا پہلو ڈھونڈنے کو اور اس کا ٹھیک پہلو اللہ ہی کو معلوم ہے اور پختہ علم والے کہتے ہیں ہم اس پر ایمان لائے سب ہمارے رب کے پاس سے ہے اور نصیحت نہیں مانتے مگر عقل والے

وہ وہی ہے جس نے آپ پر ایسی کتاب نازل کی جس میں کچھ آیتیں تو محکم ہیں۔ جو کتاب کی اصل و بنیاد ہیں اور کچھ متشابہ ہیں اب جن لوگوں کے دلوں میں کجی (ٹیڑھ) ہے۔ تو وہ فتنہ برپا کرنے اور من مانی تاویلیں کرنے کی خاطر متشابہ آیتوں کے پیچھے پڑے رہتے ہیں۔ حالانکہ خدا اور ان لوگوں کے سوا جو علم میں مضبوط و پختہ کار ہیں اور کوئی ان کی تاویل (اصل معنی) کو نہیں جانتا۔ جو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اس (کتاب) پر ایمان لائے ہیں یہ سب (آیتیں) ہمارے پروردگار کی طرف سے ہیں اور نصیحت کا اثر صرف عقل والے ہی لیتے ہیں۔

You have guided us,

وَهَبْ

and bestow

لَنَا

for us

مِن

from

لَّدُنكَ

Your gentleness

رَحْمَةً

a blessing;

إِنَّكَ

certainly

أَنتَ

You are

ٱلْوَهَّابُ

the Bestower.]

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

— [Our Rabb! Do not deviate our hearts after when You have guided us, and bestow for us from Your gentleness a blessing; certainly You are the Bestower.]

Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower.

doubt

فِيهِ

in it;

إِنَّ

surely

ٱللَّهَ

the One

لَا

not

يُخْلِفُ

goes back on

ٱلْمِيعَادَ

the promise.] —

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍۢ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ

[Our Rabb! You certainly are to collect the people for a day, no doubt in it; surely the One not goes back on the promise.] —

Our Lord! Lo! it is Thou Who gatherest mankind together to a Day of which there is no doubt. Lo! Allah faileth not to keep the tryst.

House of Imran [ 3:10 ] آل عمران

إِنَّ

Surely

ٱلَّذِينَ

are in denial

لَن

never shall

تُغْنِىَ

be sufficient

عَنْهُمْ

for them

أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ

their belongings,

وَلَآ

neither

أَوْلَٰدُهُم

their offsprings

مِّنَ

against

ٱللَّهِ

the One

شَيْـًۭٔا

of a thing,

وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ

and they

هُمْ

are

وَقُودُ

fuel of

ٱلنَّارِ

the fire.

١٠

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًۭٔا ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ

Surely the ones who are in denial never shall be sufficient for them their belongings, neither their offsprings against the One of a thing, and they are fuel of the fire.

(On that Day) neither the riches nor the progeny of those who disbelieve will aught avail them with Allah. They will be fuel for Fire.

كَدَأْبِ

Existed

ءَالِ

the party of

فِرْعَوْنَ

Fir'oun,

وَٱلَّذِينَ

and the ones

مِن

from

قَبْلِهِمْ

before them;

كَذَّبُوا۟

continuously lied

بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا

regarding Our signs,

فَأَخَذَهُمُ

so seized them

ٱللَّهُ

the One

بِذُنُوبِهِمْ

because of their offenses;

وَٱللَّهُ

and the One is

شَدِيدُ

severe of

ٱلْعِقَابِ

the chase.

١١

كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

Existed the party of Fir'oun, and the ones from before them; continuously lied regarding Our signs, so seized them the One because of their offenses; and the One is severe of the chase.

Like Pharaoh's folk and those who were before them, they disbelieved Our revelations and so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in punishment.

as in the case of Pharaoh]s clan and those who were before them, who denied Our signs. So Allah seized them for their sins, and Allah is severe in retribution.

اُن کا انجام ویسا ہی ہوگا، جیسا فرعون کے ساتھیوں اور اُن سے پہلے کے نافرمانوں کا ہو چکا ہے کہ اُنہوں نے آیات الٰہی کو جھٹلایا، نتیجہ یہ ہوا کہ اللہ نے ان کے گناہوں پر انہیں پکڑ لیا اور حق یہ ہے کہ اللہ سخت سزا دینے والا ہے

جیسے فرعون والوں اور ان سے اگلوں کا طریقہ، انہوں نے ہماری آیتیں جھٹلائیں تو اللہ نے ان کے گناہوں پر ان کو پکڑا اور اللہ کا عذاب سخت،

House of Imran [ 3:12 ] آل عمران

قُل

Say

لِّلَّذِينَ

for the ones who

كَفَرُوا۟

are in denial,

[You will be overpowered

وَتُحْشَرُونَ

and you will be squeezed

إِلَىٰ

into

جَهَنَّمَ

hell,

وَبِئْسَ

and (it is) a miserable

ٱلْمِهَادُ

resting place.]

١٢

قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ

Say for the ones who are in denial, [You will be overpowered and you will be squeezed into hell, and (it is) a miserable resting place.]

Say (O Muhammad) unto those who disbelieve: Ye shall be overcome and gathered unto Hell, an evil resting-place.

فرمادو، کافروں سے کوئی دم جاتا ہے کہ تم مغلوب ہوگے اور دوزخ کی طرف ہانکے جاؤ گے اور وہ بہت ہی برا بچھونا،

قَدْ

Certainly

لَكُمْ

for you people

ءَايَةٌۭ

a sign

two factions

ٱلْتَقَتَا

converged;

فِئَةٌۭ

a group

تُقَٰتِلُ

fighting

فِى

سَبِيلِ

way of

ٱللَّهِ

the One

وَأُخْرَىٰ

and other one (in way of)

كَافِرَةٌۭ

denial,

يَرَوْنَهُم

they (the first group) saw them (the other)

مِّثْلَيْهِمْ

like more of them

رَأْىَ

as saw

ٱلْعَيْنِ

the eye;

وَٱللَّهُ

and the One

يُؤَيِّدُ

strengthens

بِنَصْرِهِۦ

through His help

مَن

whom

يَشَآءُ

He desires;

إِنَّ

indeed

فِى

ذَٰلِكَ

that

لَعِبْرَةًۭ

for sure is a lesson

لِّأُو۟لِى

for the foremost of

ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ

the vision.

١٣

قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ ءَايَةٌۭ فِى فِئَتَيْنِ ٱلْتَقَتَا ۖ فِئَةٌۭ تُقَٰتِلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُخْرَىٰ كَافِرَةٌۭ يَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْىَ ٱلْعَيْنِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةًۭ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ

Certainly was for you people a sign in when two factions converged; a group fighting in way of the One and other one (in way of) denial, they (the first group) saw them (the other) like more of them as saw the eye; and the One strengthens through His help whom He desires; indeed in that for sure is a lesson for the foremost of the vision.

There was a token for you in two hosts which met: one army fighting in the way of Allah, and another disbelieving, whom they saw as twice their number, clearly, with their very eyes. Thus Allah strengtheneth with His succour whom He will. Lo! herein verily is a lesson for those who have eyes.

There was certainly a sign for you in the two hosts that met: one host fighting in the way of Allah and the other faithless, who saw them as visibly twice as many. Allah strengthens whomever He wishes with His help. There is indeed a moral in that for those who have insight.

There, certainly, is evidence (of the existence of God) for you in the case of the two armies. One of them fought for the cause of God. The other were disbelievers. The disbelievers appeared to be twice the size of the believers. However, God supports through His help whomever He wants. It is a good lesson for the people of true vision.

Indeed there was a sign for you in the two hosts (which) met together in encounter; one party fighting in the way of Allah and the other unbelieving, whom they saw twice as many as themselves with the sight of the eye and Allah strengthens with His aid whom He pleases; most surely there is a lesson in this for those who have sight.

There was a sign for you in the two groups which met face to face [at Badr], one party fighting for the cause of God and the other made up of those who deny the truth. The faithful saw with their own eyes that the others were twice their number: but God strengthens with His succour whom He wills. In this, there is indeed a lesson for all who have eyes to see.

تمہارے واسطے ان دونوں گروہوں کے حالات میں ایک نشانی موجود ہے جو میدان جنگ میں آمنے سامنے آئے کہ ایک گروہ راسِ خدا میں جہاد کررہا تھا اور دوسرا کافر تھا جو ان مومنین کو اپنے سے دوگنا دیکھ رہا تھا اور اللہ اپنی نصرت کے ذریعہ جس کی چاہتا ہے تائید کرتا ہے اور اس میں صاحبان هنظر کے واسطے سامان هعبرت و نصیحت بھی ہے

تمہارے لیے اُن دو گروہوں میں ایک نشان عبرت تھا، جو (بدر میں) ایک دوسرے سے نبرد آزما ہوئے ایک گروہ اللہ کی راہ میں لڑ رہا تھا اور دوسرا گروہ کافر تھا دیکھنے والے بچشم سر دیکھ رہے تھے کہ کافر گروہ مومن گروہ سے دو چند ہے مگر (نتیجے نے ثابت کر دیا کہ) اللہ اپنی فتح و نصرت سے جس کو چاہتا ہے، مدد دیتا ہے دیدۂ بینا رکھنے والوں کے لیے اس میں بڑا سبق پوشیدہ ہے

بیشک تمہارے لئے نشانی تھی دو گروہوں میں جو آپس میں بھڑ پڑے ایک جتھا اللہ کی راہ میں لڑتا اور دوسرا کافر کہ انہیں آنکھوں دیکھا اپنے سے دونا سمجھیں، اور اللہ اپنی مدد سے زور دیتا ہے جسے چاہتا ہے بیشک اس میں عقلمندوں کے لئے ضرور دیکھ کر سیکھنا ہے،

تمہارے لیے ان دو گروہوں (کے حالات) میں جن کی (میدانِ بدر میں) مڈبھیڑ ہوئی تھی (صداقت رسول(ص) کی) ایک بڑی نشانی (معجزہ) موجود ہے۔ ایک گروہ خدا کی راہ میں جنگ کر رہا تھا۔ اور دوسرا گروہ کافر تھا جن کو (مسلمان) اپنی آنکھوں سے دوگنا دیکھ رہے تھے اور اللہ اپنی مدد سے جس کی چاہتا ہے، تائید و تقویت کرتا ہے بے شک اس (واقعہ) میں بڑی عبرت و نصیحت ہے۔ نگاہ (عبرت رکھنے) والوں کے لیے۔

زُيِّنَ

Appears beautiful

لِلنَّاسِ

for the people

حُبُّ

attractiveness of

ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ

the desires

مِنَ

ٱلنِّسَآءِ

the women,

وَٱلْبَنِينَ

and the sons,

وَٱلْقَنَٰطِيرِ

and the arches

ٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِ

the ones held up

مِنَ

from

ٱلذَّهَبِ

the gold,

وَٱلْفِضَّةِ

and the wide open spaces

وَٱلْخَيْلِ

and the noble horses

ٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِ

that are tagged,

وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ

and the cattle

وَٱلْحَرْثِ

and the cultivation;

ذَٰلِكَ

that is

مَتَٰعُ

enjoyment in

ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ

the life of

ٱلدُّنْيَا

this life;

وَٱللَّهُ

and the One,

عِندَهُۥ

towards Him is

حُسْنُ

a beautiful

ٱلْمَـَٔابِ

returning.

١٤

زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْبَنِينَ وَٱلْقَنَٰطِيرِ ٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَٱلْفِضَّةِ وَٱلْخَيْلِ ٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ وَٱلْحَرْثِ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ ٱلْمَـَٔابِ

Appears beautiful for the people attractiveness of the desires of the women, and the sons, and the arches the ones held up from the gold, and the wide open spaces and the noble horses that are tagged, and the cattle and the cultivation; that is enjoyment in the life of this life; and the One, towards Him is a beautiful returning.

Beautified for mankind is love of the joys (that come) from women and offspring; and stored-up heaps of gold and silver, and horses branded (with their mark), and cattle and land. That is comfort of the life of the world. Allah! With Him is a more excellent abode.

The love of [worldly] allures, including women and children, accumulated piles of gold and silver, horses of mark, livestock, and farms has been made to seem decorous to mankind. Those are the wares of the life of this world, but the goodness of one]s ultimate destination lies near Allah.

Worldly desires, wives, children, accumulated treasures of gold and silver, horses of noble breed, cattle, and farms are all made to seem attractive to men. All these are the bounties of the worldly life but in the life to come God has the best place for people to dwell.

The love of desires, of women and sons and hoarded treasures of gold and silver and well bred horses and cattle and tilth, is made to seem fair to men; this is the provision of the life of this world; and Allah is He with Whom is the good goal (of life).

The satisfaction of worldly desires through women, and children, and heaped-up treasures of gold and silver, and pedigreed horses, and cattle and lands is attractive to people. All this is the provision of the worldly life; but the most excellent abode is with God.

House of Imran [ 3:15 ] آل عمران

قُلْ

Say,

أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم

[Should I inform you

بِخَيْرٍۢ

about better

مِّن

from

ذَٰلِكُمْ

that for you?

لِلَّذِينَ

For the ones

ٱتَّقَوْا۟

who become aware,

عِندَ

from

رَبِّهِمْ

their Rabb

جَنَّٰتٌۭ

are gardens —

تَجْرِى

flowing

مِن

from

تَحْتِهَا

under them are

ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ

rivers —

خَٰلِدِينَ

eternalized

فِيهَا

therein,

وَأَزْوَٰجٌۭ

and partners

مُّطَهَّرَةٌۭ

who are progressive,

وَرِضْوَٰنٌۭ

and contentedness

مِّنَ

from

ٱللَّهِ

the One;

وَٱللَّهُ

and the One is

بَصِيرٌۢ

observant

بِٱلْعِبَادِ

regarding His servants.]

١٥

قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم بِخَيْرٍۢ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمْ ۚ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَٰجٌۭ مُّطَهَّرَةٌۭ وَرِضْوَٰنٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ

Say, [Should I inform you about better from that for you? For the ones who become aware, from their Rabb are gardens — flowing from under them are rivers — eternalized therein, and partners who are progressive, and contentedness from the One; and the One is observant regarding His servants.]

Say: Shall I inform you of something better than that? For those who keep from evil, with their Lord, are Gardens underneath which rivers flow wherein they will abide, and pure companions, and contentment from Allah. Allah is Seer of His bondmen,

Say, [Shall I inform you of something better than that? For those who are Godwary there will be gardens near their Lord, with streams running in them, to remain in them [forever], and chaste mates, and Allah]s pleasure.] And Allah watches His servants.

(Muhammad), ask them, [Shall I tell you what is far superior to worldly pleasures? Those who have fear of God will have (as their reward) gardens wherein streams flow and wherein they will live forever with their purified spouses and with the consent of God. God knows all about His servants.]

Say: Shall I tell you what is better than these? For those who guard (against evil) are gardens with their Lord, beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them, and pure mates and Allah's pleasure; and Allah sees the servants.

کہو: میں تمہیں بتاؤں کہ ان سے زیادہ اچھی چیز کیا ہے؟ جو لوگ تقویٰ کی روش اختیار کریں، اُن کے لیے ان کے رب کے پا س باغ ہیں، جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی، وہاں انہیں ہمیشگی کی زندگی حاصل ہوگی، پاکیزہ بیویاں ان کی رفیق ہوں گی اور اللہ کی رضا سے وہ سرفراز ہوں گے اللہ اپنے بندوں کے رویے پر گہری نظر رکھتا ہے

تم فرماؤ کیا میں تمہیں اس سے بہتر چیز بتادوں پرہیزگاروں کے لئے ان کے رب کے پاس جنتیں ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں ہمیشہ ان میں رہیں گے اور ستھری بیبیاں اور اللہ کی خوشنودی اور اللہ بندوں کو دیکھتا ہے

(اے رسول(ص)) کہو۔ کیا میں تمہیں ان سب سے بہتر چیز بتاؤں؟ جن لوگوں نے پرہیزگاری اختیار کی ان کے لئے ان کے پروردگار کے یہاں ایسے بہشت ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہیں اور وہ ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے (ان کے علاوہ) پاک و پاکیزہ بیویاں ہیں اور (سب سے بڑی نعمت) خدا کی خوشنودی ہے۔ اور خدا (اپنے) بندوں کو خوب دیکھ رہا ہے۔

House of Imran [ 3:16 ] آل عمران

ٱلَّذِينَ

[The ones who

يَقُولُونَ

say,

رَبَّنَآ

— [Our Rabb!

إِنَّنَآ

Certainly we

ءَامَنَّا

have trust,

فَٱغْفِرْ

thus have forgiveness

لَنَا

for us for

ذُنُوبَنَا

our offenses

وَقِنَا

and keep us from

عَذَابَ

anguish of

ٱلنَّارِ

the fire.] — ]

١٦

ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

[The ones who say, — [Our Rabb! Certainly we have trust, thus have forgiveness for us for our offenses and keep us from anguish of the fire.] — ]

Those who say: Our Lord! Lo! we believe. So forgive us our sins and guard us from the punishment of Fire;

House of Imran [ 3:17 ] آل عمران

ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

[And the persevering,

وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

and the truthful,

وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ

and the dutiful,

وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ

and the distributers (of rizq),

وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ

and the ones who shield themselves

بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ

from the illusions.]

١٧

ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ

[And the persevering, and the truthful, and the dutiful, and the distributers (of rizq), and the ones who shield themselves from the illusions.]

The steadfast, and the truthful, and the obedient, those who spend (and hoard not), those who pray for pardon in the watches of the night.

House of Imran [ 3:18 ] آل عمران

شَهِدَ

Witnessed

ٱللَّهُ

the One,

أَنَّهُۥ

indeed He is —

لَآ

إِلَٰهَ

unchallenged master

إِلَّا

except

هُوَ

Him —

وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ

and the malaikati,

وَأُو۟لُوا۟

and foremost of

ٱلْعِلْمِ

the knowledge,

قَآئِمًۢا

standing together

بِٱلْقِسْطِ

with the Justice;

لَآ

إِلَٰهَ

unchallenged master

إِلَّا

except

هُوَ

He who is

ٱلْعَزِيزُ

the Fortified,

ٱلْحَكِيمُ

the Most Wise.

١٨

شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

Witnessed the One, indeed He is — no unchallenged master except Him — and the malaikati, and foremost of the knowledge, standing together with the Justice; no unchallenged master except He who is the Fortified, the Most Wise.

Allah (Himself) is Witness that there is no Allah save Him. And the angels and the men of learning (too are witness). Maintaining His creation in justice, there is no Allah save Him the Almighty, the Wise.

Allah, maintainer of justice, the Almighty and the All-wise, besides whom there is no god, bears witness that there is no god except Him, and [so do] the angels and those who possess knowledge.

God Himself testifies that He is the only Lord. The angels and the men of knowledge and justice testify that God is the only Lord, the Majestic, and All-wise.

Allah bears witness that there is no god but He, and (so do) the angels and those possessed of knowledge, maintaining His creation with justice; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise.

اللہ خود گواہ ہے کہ اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے ملائکہ اور صاحبانِ علم گواہ ہیں کہ وہ عدل کے ساتھ قائم ہے- اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے اور وہ صاحبِ عزّت و حکمت ہے

اللہ نے خود شہادت دی ہے کہ اس کے سوا کوئی خدا نہیں ہے، او ر (یہی شہادت) فرشتوں اور سب اہل علم نے بھی دی ہے وہ انصاف پر قائم ہے اُس زبردست حکیم کے سوا فی الواقع کوئی خدا نہیں ہے

اور اللہ نے گواہی دی کہ اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور فرشتوں نے اور عالموں نے انصاف سے قائم ہوکر اس کے سوا کسی کی عبادت نہیں عزت والا حکمت والا،

خود اللہ، اس کے ملائکہ اور صاحبانِ علم گواہ ہیں کہ اس کے سوا کوئی خدا نہیں ہے اور وہ عدل و انصاف کے ساتھ قائم و برقرار ہے اس کے سوا کوئی خدا نہیں ہے جو زبردست، حکمت والا (دانا) ہے۔

إِنَّ

Surely

ٱلدِّينَ

the governance system

عِندَ

from

ٱللَّهِ

the One is

ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ

the complete commitment,

وَمَا

and not

ٱخْتَلَفَ

disputed

ٱلَّذِينَ

the ones who

أُوتُوا۟

were given

ٱلْكِتَٰبَ

the Book

إِلَّا

except

مِنۢ

from

بَعْدِ

after

مَا

what

جَآءَهُمُ

came to them of

ٱلْعِلْمُ

the knowledge

بَغْيًۢا

out of revulsion

بَيْنَهُمْ

between themselves;

وَمَن

and whoever

يَكْفُرْ

denies

بِـَٔايَٰتِ

about signs of

ٱللَّهِ

the One

فَإِنَّ

then certainly

ٱللَّهَ

the One is

سَرِيعُ

swift of

ٱلْحِسَابِ

the reckoning.

١٩

إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ ۗ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ ۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Surely the governance system from the One is the complete commitment, and not disputed the ones who were given the Book except from after what came to them of the knowledge out of revulsion between themselves; and whoever denies about signs of the One then certainly the One is swift of the reckoning.

Lo! religion with Allah (is) the Surrender (to His Will and Guidance). Those who (formerly) received the Scripture differed only after knowledge came unto them, through transgression among themselves. Whoso disbelieveth the revelations of Allah (will find that) lo! Allah is swift at reckoning.

Indeed, with Allah religion is Islam, and those who were given the Book did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves. And whoever denies Allah]s signs [should know that] Allah is swift at reckoning.

In the sight of God Islam is the religion. The People of the Book created differences in the matters (of religion) because of their hostility among themselves, only after knowledge had come to them. Let whoever denies the revelations of God know that the reckoning of God is swift.

Surely the (true) religion with Allah is Islam, and those to whom the Book had been given did not show opposition but after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves; and whoever disbelieves in the communications of Allah then surely Allah is quick in reckoning.

The only true religion in God's sight is complete submission to God. And those who were given the Book disagreed only out of rivalry, after knowledge had been given to them -- he who denies God's signs should know that God is swift in His reckoning.

اللہ کے نزدیک دین صرف اسلام ہے اس دین سے ہٹ کر جو مختلف طریقے اُن لوگوں نے اختیار کیے، جنہیں کتاب دی گئی تھی، اُن کے اِس طرز عمل کی کوئی وجہ اس کے سوا نہ تھی کہ انہوں نے علم آ جانے کے بعد آپس میں ایک دوسرے پر زیادتی کرنے کے لیے ایسا کیا اور جو کوئی اللہ کے احکام و ہدایات کی اطاعت سے انکار کر دے، اللہ کو اس سے حساب لیتے کچھ دیر نہیں لگتی ہے

بیشک اللہ کے یہاں اسلام ہی دین ہے اور پھوٹ میں نہ پڑے کتابی مگر اس کے کہ انہیں علم آچکا اپنے دلو ں کی جلن سے اور جو اللہ کی آیتوں کا منکر ہو تو بیشک اللہ جلد حساب لینے والا ہے،

بے شک خدا کے نزدیک سچا دین صرف اسلام ہے اور اہل کتاب نے (دین حق میں) اختلاف نہیں کیا مگر اپنے پاس علم آجانے (اور اصل حقیقت معلوم ہو جانے) کے بعد۔ محض آپس کی شرارت و ضد اور ناحق کوشی کی بنا پر اور جو بھی آیاتِ الٰہیہ کا انکار کرے گا تو یقینا خدا بہت جلد حساب لینے والا ہے۔

House of Imran [ 3:20 ] آل عمران

فَإِنْ

Then if

حَآجُّوكَ

they argue with you

فَقُلْ

so say,

أَسْلَمْتُ

[I have submitted

وَجْهِىَ

my aim

لِلَّهِ

for the One

وَمَنِ

and who

ٱتَّبَعَنِ

followed.]

وَقُل

And say

لِّلَّذِينَ

to the ones who

أُوتُوا۟

have been given

ٱلْكِتَٰبَ

the Book

وَٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ

and those who have not read,

ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ

[Do you submit?]

فَإِنْ

Then if

أَسْلَمُوا۟

they submit

فَقَدِ

then surely

ٱهْتَدَوا۟

they are guided.

وَّإِن

And if

تَوَلَّوْا۟

they turn back

فَإِنَّمَا

then it is only that

عَلَيْكَ

upon you is

ٱلْبَلَٰغُ

the notification;

وَٱللَّهُ

and the One is

بَصِيرٌۢ

watchful

بِٱلْعِبَادِ

about (His) slaves.

٢٠

فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ ۗ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ ۚ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ ۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ

Then if they argue with you so say, [I have submitted my aim for the One and who followed.] And say to the ones who have been given the Book and those who have not read, [Do you submit?] Then if they submit then surely they are guided. And if they turn back then it is only that upon you is the notification; and the One is watchful about (His) slaves.

And if they argue with thee, (O Muhammad), say: I have surrendered my purpose to Allah and (so have) those who follow me. And say unto those who have received the Scripture and those who read not: Have ye (too) surrendered? If they surrender, then truly they are rightly guided, and if they turn away, then it is thy duty only to convey the message (unto them). Allah is Seer of (His) bondmen.

If they argue with you, say, [I have submitted my will to Allah, and [so has] he who follows me.] And say to those who were given the Book and the uninstructed ones, [Do you submit?] If they submit, they will certainly be guided; but if they turn away, then your duty is only to communicate, and Allah watches His servants.

(Muhammad), if the People of the Book argue against you, say, [I and those who follow me have submitted ourselves to God.] Ask the People of the Book and the illiterate ones, [Have you embraced Islam?] If they embrace Islam, they will find guidance but if they turn away, your task is just to preach. God knows all about His servants.

اب اگر یہ لوگ تم سے جھگڑا کریں، توا ن سے کہو: ——میں نے اور میرے پیروؤں نے تو اللہ کے آگے سر تسلیم خم کر دیا ہے—— پھر اہل کتاب اور غیر اہل کتاب دونوں سے پوچھو: ——کیا تم نے بھی اس کی اطاعت و بندگی قبول کی؟—— اگر کی تو وہ راہ راست پا گئے، اور اگر اس سے منہ موڑا تو تم پر صرف پیغام پہنچا دینے کی ذمہ داری تھی آگے اللہ خود اپنے بندوں کے معاملات دیکھنے والا ہے

پھر اے محبوب! اگر وہ تم سے حجت کریں تو فرمادو میں اپنا منہ اللہ کے حضور جھکائے ہوں اور جومیرے پیرو ہوئے اور کتابیوں اور اَن پڑھوں سے فرماؤ کیا تم نے گردن رکھی پس اگر وہ گردن رکھیں جب تو راہ پاگئے اور اگر منہ پھیریں تو تم پر تو یہی حکم پہنچادینا ہے اور اللہ بندوں کو کو دیکھ رہا ہے،

پس اگر یہ لوگ آپ سے خواہ مخواہ حجت بازی کریں۔ تو کہہ دو کہ میں نے اور میری پیروی کرنے والوں نے تو اپنا سر خدا کے سامنے جھکا دیا ہے (اپنے کو اس کے سپرد کر دیا ہے) اور اہل کتاب اور جو کسی کتاب کے پڑھنے والے نہیں ہیں سے کہو: کیا تم بھی اسلام لائے ہو؟ پس اگر انہوں نے اسلام کا اقرار کر لیا تو گویا ہدایت پا گئے اور اگر (اس سے) منہ موڑا تو آپ کا فرض تو صرف پہنچا دینا ہے (منوانا نہیں ہے)۔ اور اللہ (اپنے) بندوں کو خوب دیکھنے (اور پہچاننے والا ہے)۔

إِنَّ

Surely

ٱلَّذِينَ

the ones who

يَكْفُرُونَ

lie

بِـَٔايَٰتِ

about signs of

ٱللَّهِ

the One

وَيَقْتُلُونَ

and they kill (or corner)

ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ

the revolutionary leaders

بِغَيْرِ

without

حَقٍّۢ

right,

وَيَقْتُلُونَ

and they kill (or corner)

ٱلَّذِينَ

the ones who

يَأْمُرُونَ

set affairs

بِٱلْقِسْطِ

with justice

مِنَ

ٱلنَّاسِ

the people,

فَبَشِّرْهُم

thus give them good news

بِعَذَابٍ

about a punishment

أَلِيمٍ

of suffering.

٢١

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّۢ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

Surely the ones who lie about signs of the One and they kill (or corner) the revolutionary leaders without right, and they kill (or corner) the ones who set affairs with justice of the people, thus give them good news about a punishment of suffering.

Lo! those who disbelieve the revelations of Allah, and slay the prophets wrongfully, and slay those of mankind who enjoin equity: promise them a painful doom.

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ

Those are

ٱلَّذِينَ

their deeds

فِى

ٱلدُّنْيَا

the World

وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

and the forth-coming,

وَمَا

and not

لَهُم

for them is

مِّن

نَّٰصِرِينَ

saviours.

٢٢

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ

Those are the ones who ruined their deeds in the World and the forth-coming, and not for them is of saviours.

Those are they whose works have failed in the world and the Hereafter; and they have no helpers.

the Book,

يُدْعَوْنَ

them being invited

لِيَحْكُمَ

so they can judge

بَيْنَهُمْ

amongst themselves,

ثُمَّ

but then

يَتَوَلَّىٰ

about turn

فَرِيقٌۭ

sectarians

مِّنْهُمْ

from them

وَهُم

and they are

مُّعْرِضُونَ

apologetic?

٢٣

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

Do not you see at the ones who are given an instalment of the Book, them being invited towards book of the One so they can judge amongst themselves, but then about turn sectarians from them and they are apologetic?

Hast thou not seen how those who have received a portion of the Scripture invoke the Scripture of Allah (in their disputes) that it may judge between them; then a faction of them turn away, being opposed (to it)?

Have you not regarded those who were given a share of the Book, who are summoned to the Book of Allah in order that it may judge between them, whereat a part of them refuse to comply and they are disregardful?

ذَٰلِكَ

That is

بِأَنَّهُمْ

due to their

saying,

[Never shall

تَمَسَّنَا

touch us

ٱلنَّارُ

the fire

إِلَّآ

except

أَيَّامًۭا

for a days

مَّعْدُودَٰتٍۢ

limited in numbers],

وَغَرَّهُمْ

and deluded them

فِى

دِينِهِم

their governance system

مَّا

what

كَانُوا۟

they were

يَفْتَرُونَ

inventing.

٢٤

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًۭا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍۢ ۖ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِى دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

That is due to their saying, [Never shall touch us the fire except for a days limited in numbers], and deluded them in their governance system what they were inventing.

That is because they say: The Fire will not touch us save for a certain number of days. That which they used to invent hath deceived them regarding their religion.

That is because they say, [The Fire shall not touch us except for a number of days,] and they have been misled in their religion by what they used to fabricate.

because of their belief that the fire will only touch them for a few days. This fabricated belief has deceived them in matters of their religion.

This is because they say: The fire shall not touch us but for a few days; and what they have forged deceives them in the matter of their religion.

That is because they say, [The Fire will touch us only for a limited number of days.] Thus the false beliefs which they have invented have deluded them in the matter of their religion.

یہ اس لئے کہ ان کا عقیدہ ہے کہ انہیں آتش جہّنم صرف چند دن کے لئے چھوئے گی اور ان کو دین کے بارے میں ان کی افتراپردازیوں نے دھوکہ میں رکھا ہے

ان کا یہ طرز عمل اس وجہ سے ہے کہ وہ کہتے ہیں ——آتش دوزخ تو ہمیں مس تک نہ کرے گی اور اگر دوزخ کی سزا ہم کو ملے گی بھی تو بس چند روز—— اُن کے خود ساختہ عقیدوں نے اُن کو اپنے دین کے معاملے میں بڑی غلط فہمیوں میں ڈال رکھا ہے

یہ جرأت انہیں اس لئے ہوئی کہ وہ کہتے ہیں ہرگز ہمیں آگ نہ چھوئے گی مگر گنتی کے دنوں اور ان کے دین میں انہیں فریب دیا اس جھوٹ نے جو باندھتے تھے

یہ (انداز) اس لئے ہے کہ وہ اس بات کے قائل ہیں کہ گنتی کے چند دنوں کے سوا ہمیں آتش جہنم چھوئے گی بھی نہیں۔ یہ لوگ جو افتراء پردازیاں کرتے رہتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے ان کو دین کے بارے میں دھوکہ دیا ہے۔

فَكَيْفَ

So how then

جَمَعْنَٰهُمْ

We will collect them

لِيَوْمٍۢ

for a day

لَّا

رَيْبَ

doubt

فِيهِ

is in it,

وَوُفِّيَتْ

and will be satisfied

كُلُّ

every

نَفْسٍۢ

psyche

مَّا

what

كَسَبَتْ

it earned,

وَهُمْ

and they

لَا

not will be

يُظْلَمُونَ

done injustice to.

٢٥

فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَٰهُمْ لِيَوْمٍۢ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ

So how then when We will collect them for a day no doubt is in it, and will be satisfied every psyche what it earned, and they not will be done injustice to.

How (will it be with them) when We have brought them all together to a Day of which there is no doubt, when every soul will be paid in full what it hath earned, and they will not be wronged.

But how will it be [with them] when We gather them on a day in which there is no doubt, and every soul shall be recompensed fully for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged?

What will happen to their belief when We bring them together on the Inevitable Day when every soul will be justly recompensed for its deeds?

Then how will it be when We shall gather them together on a day about which there is no doubt, and every soul shall be fully paid what it has earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly?

How will it be when We gather them all together upon a Day which is sure to come, when every human being shall be repaid in full for what he has done? They will not be wronged.

اس وقت کیا ہوگا جب ہم سب کو اس دن جمع کریں گے جس میں کسی شک اور شبہہ کی گنجائش نہیں ہے اور ہر نفس کو اس کے کئے کا پورا پورا بدلہ دیا جائے گا اور کسی پر کوئی ظلم نہیں کیا جائے گا

مگر کیا بنے گی اُن پر جب ہم انہیں اُس روز جمع کریں گے جس کا آنا یقینی ہے؟ اس روز ہر شخص کو اس کی کمائی کا بدلہ پورا پورا دے دیا جائیگا اور کسی پر ظلم نہ ہوگا

تو کیسی ہوگی جب ہم انہیں اکٹھا کریں گے اس دن کے لئے جس میں شک نہیں اور ہر جان کو اس کی کمائی پوری بھر (بالکل پوری) دی جائے گی اور ان پر ظلم نہ ہوگا،

اس وقت ان کی کیا حالت ہوگی جب ہم ان کو ایک دن (بروزِ قیامت) اکٹھا کریں گے جس (کے آنے) میں کوئی شک و شبہ نہیں ہے۔ اور ہر شخص کو جو کچھ اس نے کمایا ہوگا اس کا پورا پورا بدلہ دیا جائے گا۔ اور ان پر کوئی ظلم نہیں کیا جائے گا۔

[O Master of all of them!

You give

ٱلْمُلْكَ

the ownership to

مَن

whom

تَشَآءُ

You wish

وَتَنزِعُ

and You remove

ٱلْمُلْكَ

the ownership

مِمَّن

from whom

تَشَآءُ

You wish,

وَتُعِزُّ

and You promote

مَن

who

تَشَآءُ

You wish to

وَتُذِلُّ

and You demote

مَن

who

تَشَآءُ

You wish to;

بِيَدِكَ

— by Your hand is

ٱلْخَيْرُ

the best —

إِنَّكَ

certainly You

عَلَىٰ

upon

كُلِّ

all

شَىْءٍۢ

things

قَدِيرٌۭ

are capable.]

٢٦

قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَٰلِكَ ٱلْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى ٱلْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ ۖ بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيْرُ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ

Say, [O Master of all of them! King of the kingdom; You give the ownership to whom You wish and You remove the ownership from whom You wish, and You promote who You wish to and You demote who You wish to; — by Your hand is the best — certainly You upon all things are capable.]

Say: O Allah! Owner of Sovereignty! Thou givest sovereignty unto whom Thou wilt, and Thou withdrawest sovereignty from whom Thou wilt. Thou exaltest whom Thou wilt, and Thou abasest whom Thou wilt. In Thy hand is the good. Lo! Thou art Able to do all things.

(Muhammad), say, [Lord, Owner of the Kingdom, You give authority to whomever You want and take it away from whomever You want. You give honor to whomever You want and humiliate whomever You want. In Your hands is all virtue and You have power over all things.

Say: O Allah, Master of the Kingdom! Thou givest the kingdom to whomsoever Thou pleasest and takest away the kingdom from whomsoever Thou pleasest, and Thou exaltest whom Thou pleasest and abasest whom Thou pleasest in Thine hand is the good; surety, Thou hast power over all things.

Say, [Lord, sovereign of all sovereignty. You bestow sovereignty on whom you will and take it away from whom You please; You exalt whoever You will and abase whoever You will. All that is good lies in Your hands. You have the power to will anything.

پیغمبر آپ کہئے کہ خدایا تو صاحب هاقتدار ہے جس کو چاہتا ہے اقتدار دیتا ہے اور جس سے چاہتا ہے سلب کرلیتا ہے- جس کو چاہتا ہے عزّت دیتا ہے اور جس کو چاہتا ہے ذلیل کرتا ہے- سارا خیر تیرے ہاتھ میں ہے اور تو ہی ہر شے پر قادر ہے

کہو! خدایا! مُلک کے مالک! تو جسے چاہے، حکومت دے اور جسے چاہے، چھین لے جسے چاہے، عزت بخشے اور جس کو چاہے، ذلیل کر دے بھلائی تیرے اختیار میں ہے بیشک تو ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

ٱلْمَيِّتَ

the dead

مِنَ

ٱلْحَىِّ

the life;

وَتَرْزُقُ

and You provide provisions to

مَن

whom

تَشَآءُ

You wish to

بِغَيْرِ

without

حِسَابٍۢ

limit.]

تُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ ۖ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ ۖ وَتَرْزُقُ مَن تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ

[You make enter the dark in the day-burst, and You make enter the day in the night; and You bring out the life from the dead and You bring out the dead from the life; and You provide provisions to whom You wish to without limit.]

as guardians

مِن

from

دُونِ

other than

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

the ones of conviction;

وَمَن

and whoever

يَفْعَلْ

does

ذَٰلِكَ

that

فَلَيْسَ

thus not (expect)

مِنَ

from

ٱللَّهِ

the One

فِى

شَىْءٍ

that thing,

إِلَّآ

except

أَن

that

تَتَّقُوا۟

you are aware

مِنْهُمْ

of them

تُقَىٰةًۭ

being strong;

وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ

and you are being alerted by

ٱللَّهُ

the One

نَفْسَهُۥ

Himself;

وَإِلَى

and towards

ٱللَّهِ

the One is

ٱلْمَصِيرُ

the destination.

٢٨

لَّا يَتَّخِذِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۖ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ فِى شَىْءٍ إِلَّآ أَن تَتَّقُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ تُقَىٰةًۭ ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ ۗ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

Not are to take the ones of conviction, the denying people as guardians from other than the ones of conviction; and whoever does that thus not (expect) from the One in that thing, except that you are aware of them being strong; and you are being alerted by the One Himself; and towards the One is the destination.

Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. Whoso doeth that hath no connection with Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them, taking (as it were) security. Allah biddeth you beware (only) of Himself. Unto Allah is the journeying.

The faithful should not take the faithless for allies instead of the faithful, and Allah will have nothing to do with those who do that, except when you are wary of them, out of caution. Allah warns you to beware of [disobeying] Him, and toward Allah is the return.

The believers must not establish friendship with the unbelievers in preference to the faithful. Whoever does so has nothing to hope for from God unless he does it out of fear or taqiyah (pious dissimulation). God warns you about Himself. To God do all things return.

مومنین اہل ایمان کو چھوڑ کر کافروں کو اپنا رفیق اور دوست ہرگز نہ بنائیں جو ایسا کرے گا اس کا اللہ سے کوئی تعلق نہیں ہاں یہ معاف ہے کہ تم ان کے ظلم سے بچنے کے لیے بظاہر ایسا طرز عمل اختیار کر جاؤ مگر اللہ تمہیں اپنے آپ سے ڈراتا ہے اور تمہیں اسی کی طرف پلٹ کر جانا ہے

مسلمان کافروں کو اپنا دوست نہ بنالیں مسلمانوں کے سوا اور جو ایسا کرے گا اسے اللہ سے کچھ علاقہ نہ رہا مگر یہ کہ تم ان سے کچھ ڈرو اور اللہ تمہیں اپنے غضب سے ڈراتا ہے اور اللہ ہی کی طرف پھرنا ہے،

(خبردار) اہل ایمان، اہل ایمان کو چھوڑ کر کافروں کو دوست (اور سرپرست) نہ بنائیں۔ اور جو ایسا کرے گا۔ اس کا خدا سے کوئی تعلق اور سروکار نہیں ہوگا۔ مگر یہ کہ تمہیں ان (کافروں) سے خوف ہو تو پھر (بقصد تقیہ اور بچاؤ) ایسا کرنے میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے۔ اور خدا تمہیں اپنی ذات سے ڈراتا ہے اور خدا ہی کی طرف پلٹ کر جانا ہے۔

reveal it,

يَعْلَمْهُ

knows of it

ٱللَّهُ

the One;

وَيَعْلَمُ

and He knows

مَا

what is

فِى

within

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

the heavens

وَمَا

and what is

فِى

within

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the Earth,

وَٱللَّهُ

and the One is

عَلَىٰ

upon

كُلِّ

all

شَىْءٍۢ

things

قَدِيرٌۭ

assigner of value.]

٢٩

قُلْ إِن تُخْفُوا۟ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ ۗ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ

Say, [Either you hide what is in your chests, or reveal it, knows of it the One; and He knows what is within the heavens and what is within the Earth, and the One is upon all things assigner of value.]

مُّحْضَرًۭا

being present there,

وَمَا

and what

عَمِلَتْ

maleficence

تَوَدُّ

wishing

لَوْ

if it were so

أَنَّ

that

بَيْنَهَا

between its malpractice

وَبَيْنَهُۥٓ

and between him

أَمَدًۢا

was a time

بَعِيدًۭا

that was long;

وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ

and you are being warned by

ٱللَّهُ

the One

نَفْسَهُۥ

Himself;

وَٱللَّهُ

and the One is

رَءُوفٌۢ

compassionate

بِٱلْعِبَادِ

regarding the slaves.

٣٠

يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ مُّحْضَرًۭا وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوٓءٍۢ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُۥٓ أَمَدًۢا بَعِيدًۭا ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ

A day is (when) will find every psyche what it did of good being present there, and what it did of maleficence wishing if it were so that between its malpractice and between him was a time that was long; and you are being warned by the One Himself; and the One is compassionate regarding the slaves.

On the Day when every soul will find itself confronted with all that it hath done of good and all that it hath done of evil (every soul) will long that there might be a mighty space of distance between it and that (evil). Allah biddeth you beware of Him. And Allah is Full of Pity for (His) bondmen.

The day when every soul will find present whatever good it has done; and as for the evil, it has done, it will wish there were a far distance between it and itself. Allah warns you to beware of [disobeying] Him, and Allah is most kind to [His] servants.

On the day when every soul will see its good and bad deeds right before its very eyes, it will wish for the longest period of time to separate it from its bad deeds. God warns you about Himself. God is Compassionate to His servants.

On the day that every soul shall find present what it has done of good and what it has done of evil, it shall wish that between it and that (evil) there were a long duration of time; and Allah makes you to be cautious of (retribution from) Himself; and Allah is Compassionate to the servants.

On the Day when every human being will find himself faced with all the good that he has done, and with all the evil that he has done, many will wish that there were a long space of time between himself and that [Day]. God admonishes you to fear Him, but God is compassionate towards His servants.

اس دن کو یاد کرو جب ہر نفس اپنے نیک اعمال کو بھی حاضر پائے گا اور اعمال بد کو بھی جن کو دیکھ کر یہ تمناّ کرے گا کہ کاش ہمارے اور ان اِرے اعمال کے درمیان طویل فاصلہ ہوجاتا اور خدا تمہیں اپنی ہستی سے ڈراتا ہے اور وہ اپنے بندوں پر مہربان بھی ہے

وہ دن آنے والا ہے، جب ہر نفس اپنے کیے کا پھل حاضر پائے گا خواہ اُس نے بھلائی کی ہو یا برائی اس روز آدمی یہ تمنا کرے گا کہ کاش ابھی یہ دن اس سے بہت دور ہوتا! اللہ تمہیں اپنے آپ سے ڈراتا ہے اور وہ اپنے بندوں کا نہایت خیر خواہ ہے

جس دن ہر جان نے جو بھلا کیا حاضر پائے گی اور جو برا کام کیا، امید کرے گی کاش مجھ میں اور اس میں دور کا فاصلہ ہوتا اور اللہ تمہیں اپنے عذاب سے ڈراتا ہے، اور اللہ بندوں پر مہربان ہے،

will care for you

ٱللَّهُ

وَيَغْفِرْ

and will forgive

for you

ذُنُوبَكُمْ

your crimes;

وَٱللَّهُ

and the One is

غَفُورٌۭ

forgivingly

رَّحِيمٌۭ

merciful.]

٣١

قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

Say [If you have care of the One then follow me, will care for you the One and will forgive for you your crimes; and the One is forgivingly merciful.]

اے محبوب! تم فرمادو کہ لوگو اگر تم اللہ کو دوست رکھتے ہو تو میرے فرمانبردار ہوجاؤ اللہ تمہیں دوست رکھے گا اور تمہارے گناہ بخش دے گا اور اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے،

(اے رسول! میری محبت کے دعویداروں سے) کہہ دیں کہ اگر تم خدا سے (سچی) محبت رکھتے ہو تو میری پیروی کرو خدا بھی تم سے محبت کرے گا اور تمہارے گناہوں کو بخش دے گا اور اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا مہربان ہے۔

فَإِنَّ

then indeed

ٱللَّهَ

يُحِبُّ

cares for

ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

the deniers.]

٣٢

قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ ۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

Say, [Obey the One and the messenger, then if you turn around then indeed the One not cares for the deniers.]

Say: Obey Allah and the messenger. But if they turn away, lo! Allah loveth not the disbelievers (in His guidance).

إِنَّ

Surely

ٱللَّهَ

the One

ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ

وَنُوحًۭا

and Nooh,

وَءَالَ

and eminent ones of

إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

Ibrahim

وَءَالَ

and eminent ones of

عِمْرَٰنَ

Imran

عَلَى

over

ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

all the nations.

٣٣

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحًۭا وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ عِمْرَٰنَ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Surely the One chose Adam, and Nooh, and eminent ones of Ibrahim and eminent ones of Imran over all the nations.

Lo! Allah preferred Adam and Noah and the Family of Abraham and the Family of 'Imran above (all His) creatures.

Progenies, some of them of some others; and the One is hearing, knowledged

إِذْ

When

قَالَتِ

said

ٱمْرَأَتُ

wife of

عِمْرَٰنَ

Imran,

رَبِّ

[Rabb!

إِنِّى

I am

نَذَرْتُ

dedicating

لَكَ

to You,

مَا

what is

فِى

بَطْنِى

my belly,

مُحَرَّرًۭا

a deliverance,

فَتَقَبَّلْ

thus accept

مِنِّىٓ

from me;

إِنَّكَ

certainly you

أَنتَ

are

ٱلسَّمِيعُ

the Listener,

ٱلْعَلِيمُ

the Knowledged.]

٣٥

إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُ عِمْرَٰنَ رَبِّ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِى بَطْنِى مُحَرَّرًۭا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

When said wife of Imran, [Rabb! I am dedicating to You, what is in my belly, a deliverance, thus accept from me; certainly you are the Listener, the Knowledged.]

(Remember) when the wife of 'Imran said: My Lord! I have vowed unto Thee that which is in my belly as a consecrated (offering). Accept it from me. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Hearer, the Knower!

(وہ اُس وقت سن رہا تھا) جب عمران کی عورت کہہ رہی تھی کہ، ——میرے پروردگار! میں اس بچے کو جو میرے پیٹ میں ہے تیری نذر کرتی ہوں، وہ تیرے ہی کام کے لیے وقف ہوگا میری اس پیشکش کو قبول فرما تو سننے اور جاننے والا ہے——

جب عمران کی بی بی نے عرض کی اے رب میرے! میں تیرے لئے منت مانتی ہو جو میرے پیٹ میں ہے کہ خالص تیری ہی خدمت میں رہے تو تو مجھ سے قبول کرلے بیشک تو ہی سنتا جانتا،

فَلَمَّا

Then when

وَضَعَتْهَا

brought it forth

قَالَتْ

she said,

رَبِّ

[Rabb!

إِنِّى

I have

وَضَعْتُهَآ

brought it forth

أُنثَىٰ

as feminine.]

وَٱللَّهُ

— while the One

أَعْلَمُ

has knowledge

بِمَا

regarding what

وَضَعَتْ

she brought forth,

وَلَيْسَ

and not is

ٱلذَّكَرُ

the masculine

كَٱلْأُنثَىٰ

as like feminine —

وَإِنِّى

[And I am

سَمَّيْتُهَا

naming her

مَرْيَمَ

Maryam

وَإِنِّىٓ

and I

أُعِيذُهَا

seek refuge for her

بِكَ

with You

وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا

and her lineage

مِنَ

from

ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ

the (religious) devils

ٱلرَّجِيمِ

who cast stones.]

٣٦

فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَضَعْتُهَآ أُنثَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْ وَلَيْسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلْأُنثَىٰ ۖ وَإِنِّى سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَإِنِّىٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ

Then when brought it forth she said, [Rabb! I have brought it forth as feminine.] — while the One has knowledge regarding what she brought forth, and not is the masculine as like feminine — [And I am naming her Maryam and I seek refuge for her with You and her lineage from the (religious) devils who cast stones.]

And when she was delivered she said: My Lord! Lo! I am delivered of a female - Allah knew best of what she was delivered - the male is not as the female; and lo! I have named her Mary, and lo! I crave Thy protection for her and for her offspring from Satan the outcast.

When she bore her, she said, [My Lord, I have borne a female [child]]—and Allah knew better what she had borne, and the male [child she expected] was no match for the female [child she had borne] —[and I have named her Mary, and I commend her and her offspring to Your care against [the evil of] the outcast Satan.]

When the baby was born she said, [Lord, it is a female.] God knew this. Male and female are not alike. [I have named her Mary. I pray that You will keep her and her offspring safe from Satan, the condemned one.]

So when she brought forth, she said: My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female-- and Allah knew best what she brought forth-- and the male is not like the female, and I have named it Marium, and I commend her and her offspring into Thy protection from the accursed Shaitan.

اس کے بعد جب ولادت ہوئی تو انہوں نے کہا پروردگار یہ تو لڑکی ہے حالانکہ اللہ خوب جانتا ہے کہ وہ کیا ہے اور وہ جانتا ہے کہ لڑکا اس لڑکی جیسا نہیں ہوسکتا.اور میں نے اس کا نام مریم رکھا ہے اور میں اسے اور اس کی اولاد کو شیطان رجیم سے تیری پناہ میں دیتی ہوں

پھر جب وہ بچی اس کے ہاں پیدا ہوئی تو اس نے کہا ——مالک! میرے ہاں تو لڑکی پیدا ہو گئی ہے حالانکہ جو کچھ اس نے جنا تھا، اللہ کو اس کی خبر تھی اور لڑکا لڑ کی کی طرح نہیں ہوتا خیر، میں نے اس کا نام مریمؑ رکھ دیا ہے اور میں اسے اور اس کی آئندہ نسل کو شیطان مردود کے فتنے سے تیری پناہ میں دیتی ہوں——

پھر جب اسے جنا بولی، اے رب میرے! یہ تو میں نے لڑکی جنی اور اللہ جو خوب معلوم ہے جو کچھ وہ جنی، اور وہ لڑکا جو اس نے مانگا اس لڑکی سا نہیں اور میں نے اس کا نام مریم رکھا اور میں اسے اور اس کی اولاد کو تیری پناہ میں دیتی ہوں راندے ہوئے شیطان سے،

پھر جب اس کے یہاں وہ (بچی) پیدا ہوئی۔ تو اس نے کہا: اے میرے پروردگار! میرے ہاں تو لڑکی پیدا ہوئی ہے (میں تو یہ لڑکی جنی ہوں) حالانکہ خدا خود خوب جانتا ہے کہ وہ کیا جنی ہے۔ اور وہ جانتا ہے کہ لڑکا، لڑکی یکساں نہیں ہوتے۔ اور میں نے اس کا نام مریم رکھا ہے اور میں اسے اور اس کی اولاد کو شیطان رجیم (کے شر) سے (بچنے کے لیے) تیری پناہ میں دیتی ہوں۔

House of Imran [ 3:37 ] آل عمران

فَتَقَبَّلَهَا

Thus accepted her,

رَبُّهَا

her Rabb,

بِقَبُولٍ

with an acceptence

حَسَنٍۢ

that is beautiful,

وَأَنۢبَتَهَا

and He caused her

نَبَاتًا

to grow

حَسَنًۭا

beautifully,

وَكَفَّلَهَا

and took care of her

زَكَرِيَّا

Zakariya;

كُلَّمَا

every time

دَخَلَ

came

عَلَيْهَا

to her

زَكَرِيَّا

Zakariya

ٱلْمِحْرَابَ

(at) the sanctuary,

وَجَدَ

found

عِندَهَا

near her

رِزْقًۭا

sustenance.

قَالَ

He said,

يَٰمَرْيَمُ

[O Maryam!

أَنَّىٰ

[Where from

لَكِ

for you

هَٰذَا

is this?]

قَالَتْ

She replied,

هُوَ

[This is

مِنْ

from

عِندِ

near

ٱللَّهِ

the One;

إِنَّ

surely

ٱللَّهَ

the One

يَرْزُقُ

gives to

مَن

whom

يَشَآءُ

He desires

بِغَيْرِ

without

حِسَابٍ

accounting.]

٣٧

فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٍۢ وَأَنۢبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًۭا وَكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا ۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا ٱلْمِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِندَهَا رِزْقًۭا ۖ قَالَ يَٰمَرْيَمُ أَنَّىٰ لَكِ هَٰذَا ۖ قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ

Thus accepted her, her Rabb, with an acceptence that is beautiful, and He caused her to grow beautifully, and took care of her Zakariya; every time came to her Zakariya (at) the sanctuary, found near her sustenance. He said, [O Maryam! [Where from for you is this?] She replied, [This is from near the One; surely the One gives to whom He desires without accounting.]

⦿

And her Lord accepted her with full acceptance and vouchsafed to her a goodly growth; and made Zachariah her guardian. Whenever Zachariah went into the sanctuary where she was, he found that she had food. He said: O Mary! Whence cometh unto thee this (food)? She answered: It is from Allah. Allah giveth without stint to whom He will.

Thereupon her Lord accepted her with a gracious acceptance, and made her grow up in a worthy fashion, and He charged Zechariah with her care. Whenever Zechariah visited her in the sanctuary, he would find provisions with her. He said, [O Mary, from where does this come for you?] She said, [It comes from Allah. Allah provides whomever He wishes without any reckoning.]

Her Lord graciously accepted the offer and made Mary grow up, pure, and beautiful. Zachariah took custody of her. Whenever he went to visit her in her place of worship, he would find with her some food. He would ask her, [Where did this food come from?] She would reply, [God has sent it.] God gives sustenance to whomever He wants without keeping an account.

So her Lord accepted her with a good acceptance and made her grow up a good growing, and gave her into the charge of Zakariya; whenever Zakariya entered the sanctuary to (see) her, he found with her food. He said: O Marium! whence comes this to you? She said: It is from Allah. Surely Allah gives to whom He pleases without measure.

Her Lord graciously accepted her and made her grow in goodness and entrusted her to the care of Zachariah. Every time Zachariah visited her in her chamber he found some provision with her. He asked, [Mary, where did this provision come from?] She replied, [This is from God. God provides for whoever He wills without measure.]

تو خدا نے اسے بہترین انداز سے قبول کرلیا اور اس کی بہترین نشوونما کا انتظام فرمادیا اور زکریا علیھ السّلام نے اس کی کفالت کی کہ جب زکریا علیھ السّلاممحراب هعبادت میں داخل ہوتے تو مریم کے پاس رزق دیکھتے اور پوچھتے کہ یہ کہاں سے آیا اور مریم جواب دیتیں کہ یہ سب خدا کی طرف ہے- وہ جسے چاہتا ہے رزق بے حساب عطا کردیتا ہے

آخرکار اس کے رب نے اس لڑکی کو بخوشی قبول فرما لیا، اُسے بڑی اچھی لڑکی بنا کر اٹھایا اور زکریاؑ کوا س کا سرپرست بنا دیا زکریاؑ جب کبھی اس کے پاس محراب میں جاتا تو اس کے پاس کچھ نہ کچھ کھانے پینے کا سامان پاتا پوچھتا مریمؑ! یہ تیرے پا س کہاں سے آیا؟ وہ جواب دیتی اللہ کے پاس سے آیا ہے، اللہ جسے چاہتا ہے بے حساب دیتا ہے

تو اسے اس کے رب نے اچھی طرح قبول کیا اور اسے اچھا پروان چڑھایا اور اسے زکریا کی نگہبانی میں دیا، جب زکریا اس کے پاس اس کی نماز پڑھنے کی جگہ جاتے اس کے پاس نیا رزق پاتے کہا اے مریم! یہ تیرے پاس کہاں سے آیا، بولیں وہ اللہ کے پاس سے ہے، بیشک اللہ جسے چاہے بے گنتی دے

تو اس کے پروردگار نے اس لڑکی (مریم) کو احسن طریقہ سے قبول فرما لیا۔ اور اچھی طرح اس کی نشوونما کا انتظام کیا (یعنی) جناب زکریا کو اس کا کفیل (اور سرپرست) بنایا۔ جب بھی زکریا محرابِ عبادت میں اس (مریم) کے پاس آتے تھے تو اس کے پاس کھانے کی کوئی چیز موجود پاتے۔ (اور) پوچھتے: اے مریم! یہ تمہارے پاس کہاں سے آیا ہے؟ وہ جواب دیتی۔ یہ خدا کے یہاں سے آیا ہے۔ بے شک خدا جسے چاہتا ہے اسے بے حساب رزق عطا فرماتا ہے۔

دَعَا

زَكَرِيَّا

Zakariya

رَبَّهُۥ

to his Rabb.

قَالَ

He said,

رَبِّ

[Rabb!

هَبْ

Grant

لِى

to me

مِن

from

لَّدُنكَ

Your gentleness

ذُرِّيَّةًۭ

a lineage

طَيِّبَةً

that is progressive;

إِنَّكَ

certainly You are

سَمِيعُ

hearing of

ٱلدُّعَآءِ

the request.]

٣٨

هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ ۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةًۭ طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ

Then and there requested Zakariya to his Rabb. He said, [Rabb! Grant to me from Your gentleness a lineage that is progressive; certainly You are hearing of the request.]

Then Zachariah prayed unto his Lord and said: My Lord! Bestow upon me of Thy bounty goodly offspring. Lo! Thou art the Hearer of Prayer.

Thereat Zechariah supplicated his Lord. He said, [My Lord! Grant me a good offspring from You! Indeed You hear all supplications.]

Zachariah prayed to his Lord there, saying, [Lord, grant me, by Your Grace, virtuous offspring. You hear all prayers].

There did Zakariya pray to his Lord; he said: My Lord! grant me from Thee good offspring; surely Thou art the Hearer of prayer.

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
