قُلْ
Say,
أُوحِىَ
[Revealed
إِلَىَّ
to me is
أَنَّهُ
that
ٱسْتَمَعَ
was listening
نَفَرٌۭ
a party
مِّنَ
of
ٱلْجِنِّ
the Jinn
فَقَالُوٓا۟
they said,
إِنَّا
— [Certainly
سَمِعْنَا
we heard
قُرْءَانًا
a proclamatory reading
عَجَبًۭا
that was amazing.]
٧٢
١
قُلْ أُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ أَنَّهُ ٱسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْءَانًا عَجَبًۭا Say, [Revealed to me is that was listening a party of the Jinn they said, — [Certainly we heard a proclamatory reading that was amazing.]

Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [It has been revealed to me that a team of the jinn listened [to the Quran] and they said, “Indeed we heard a wonderful Quran, - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), say, [It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), [We heard an amazing reading - Sarwar, Muhammad

Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, - Shakir, Habib

پیغمبر آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ میری طرف یہ وحی کی گئی ہے کہ جنوں کی ایک جماعت نے کان لگا کر قرآن کو سنا تو کہنے لگے کہ ہم نے ایک بڑا عجیب قرآن سنا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اے نبیؐ، کہو، میری طرف وحی بھیجی گئی ہے کہ جنوں کے ایک گروہ نے غور سے سنا پھر (جا کر اپنی قوم کے لوگوں سے) کہا: ——ہم نے ایک بڑا ہی عجیب قرآن سنا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تم فرماؤ مجھے وحی ہوئی کہ کچھ جنوں نے میرا پڑھنا کان لگا کر سنا تو بولے ہم نے ایک عجیب قرآن سنا - Ahmed Raza

ٱلرُّشْدِ
the maturity,
فَـَٔامَنَّا
thus we trust
بِهِۦ
with it;
ۖ
وَلَن
and will not
نُّشْرِكَ
we add partnerships
بِرَبِّنَآ
with our Rabb
أَحَدًۭا
who is singular.]
[It guides towards the maturity, thus we trust with it; and will not we add partnerships with our Rabb who is singular.]

Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

which guides to rectitude. Hence, we have believed in it and we will never ascribe any partner to our Lord. - Qarai, Ali Quli

which guides people to the right path and we believe in it. We shall never consider anyone equal to our Lord; - Sarwar, Muhammad

Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: - Shakir, Habib

جو نیکی کی ہدایت کرتا ہے تو ہم تو اس پر ایمان لے آئے ہیں اور کسی کو اپنے رب کا شریک نہ بنائیں گے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

وَأَنَّهُۥ
[And certainly He
تَعَٰلَىٰ
is elevated,
جَدُّ
novel;
رَبِّنَا
our Rabb
مَا
not
ٱتَّخَذَ
has taken
صَٰحِبَةًۭ
a companion,
وَلَا
nor
وَلَدًۭا
an offspring.]
[And certainly He is elevated, novel; our Rabb not has taken a companion, nor an offspring.]
⦿
And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
Exalted be the majesty of our Lord; He has taken neither any spouse nor son. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: - Shakir, Habib

and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہمارے رب کی شان بہت بلند ہے اس نے کسی کو اپنی بیوی بنایا ہے نہ بیٹا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور یہ کہ ——ہمارے رب کی شان بہت اعلیٰ و ارفع ہے، اُس نے کسی کو بیوی یا بیٹا نہیں بنایا ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور یہ کہ ہمارے رب کی شان بہت بلند ہے نہ اس نے عورت اختیار کی اور نہ بچہ - Ahmed Raza

an atrocious lie.]
[And certainly it was saying of foolish ones of us, upon the One an atrocious lie.]

And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The foolish ones among us used to speak atrocious lies concerning Allah. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: - Shakir, Habib

And [now we know] that the foolish among us have been saying outrageous things about God. - Wahiduddin Khan

كَذِبًۭا
a lie.] — ]
[And it is that we assumed that never would say the Ins and the Jinn upon the One a lie.] — ]

And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We thought that humans and jinn would never utter any falsehood concerning Allah. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We thought that no man or jinn could ever tell lies about God. - Sarwar, Muhammad

وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ رِجَالٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed some persons from the humans would seek the protection of some persons from the jinn, thus only adding to their rebellion. - Qarai, Ali Quli

[Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: - Shakir, Habib

Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. - Wahiduddin Khan

And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) - - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَٰعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ ۖ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ ٱلْـَٔانَ يَجِدْ لَهُۥ شِهَابًۭا رَّصَدًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We used to sit in its positions to eavesdrop, but anyone listening now finds a flame waiting for him. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We used to sit near by and try to listen to the heavens, but shooting flames now await those who try to do that. - Sarwar, Muhammad

اور یہ کہ ہم پہلے آسمان میں سننے کے لیے کچھ موقعوں پر بیٹھا کرتے تھے، پھر اب جو کوئی سنے وہ اپنی تاک میں آگ کا لُوکا (لپٹ) پائے - Ahmed Raza
