Say,

[You argue with us

regarding

the One;

while He is

our Nourisher

and your Nourisher,

so for us

our works

and for you

your works,

and we are

to Him

sincere].

[Or, do

you say

that

Ibrahim

and Isma'eel

and Ishaaq

and Yaqoob

and the descendants

were

of sect of intimidators

of sect of helpers?]

Say,

[Are you

of more knowledge

or is

God?.

And who could be

more wrong

than someone who

concealed

a testimony

from himself

belonging to

God?

And not is

the One

with unawareness

over what

you do].

That was

a nation

that

passed;

for it

what

it earned

and for you is

what

you earn,

and not will

you be asked

about what

they were

doing.

Will say

the foolish people

the general populace,

[What

made them turn

from

their qibla (the centre of belief),

which

they were

upon?].

Say,

[For the One is

where the Sun rises

and where it sets;

He guides

whom

He desires

towards

a pathway

that is straightforward].

And that is how

We made you

a nation

that is in the middle,

— for you to be

witnesses

upon

the people,

and be

the Messenger

upon you

a witness —

and not

We allowed

the centre

which

you were

upon,

except

for Our knowledge

of who

adheres to

the Message,

from who

turns arounds

his heels;

and it

was

a big thing

except

upon

the ones whom

guided

the One;

and not

was

the One

to waste

your conviction;

surely

the One

— about the people —

is mercifully

a safe-keeper.
