وَقَالَ
And said
ٱلْمَلَأُ
the clerics
مِن
of
قَوْمِ
nation of
فِرْعَوْنَ
Fir'oun,
أَتَذَرُ
[Are you going to leave
مُوسَىٰ
Moosa
وَقَوْمَهُۥ
and his people
لِيُفْسِدُوا۟
for letting them spread corruption
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the land,
وَيَذَرَكَ
and let them leave you
وَءَالِهَتَكَ
and your gods?]
ۚ
قَالَ
(Fir'oun) replied,
سَنُقَتِّلُ
[We shall corner (kill)
أَبْنَآءَهُمْ
their sons
وَنَسْتَحْىِۦ
and we will shame
نِسَآءَهُمْ
their females,
وَإِنَّا
and certainly we are
فَوْقَهُمْ
over them
قَٰهِرُونَ
subjugators.]
٧
١٢٧
وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُۥ لِيُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَءَالِهَتَكَ ۚ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْىِۦ نِسَآءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَٰهِرُونَ
And said the clerics of nation of Fir'oun, [Are you going to leave Moosa and his people for letting them spread corruption in the land, and let them leave you and your gods?] (Fir'oun) replied, [We shall corner (kill) their sons and we will shame their females, and certainly we are over them subjugators.]

The chiefs of Pharaoh's people said: (O King), wilt thou suffer Moses and his people to make mischief in the land, and flout thee and thy gods? He said: We will slay their sons and spare their women, for lo! we are in power over them.

The elite of Pharaoh]s people said, [Will you leave Moses and his people to cause corruption in the land, and to abandon you and your gods?] He said, [We will kill their sons and spare their women, and indeed we are dominant over them.]

Some of the Pharaohs people said, [Will you let Moses and his people destroy the land and disregard you and your gods?] The Pharaoh said, [We will kill their sons and leave their women alive; they are under our domination.]

اور فرعون کی قوم کے ایک گروہ نے کہا کہ کیا تو موسٰی علیھ السّلاماور ان کی قوم کو یوں ہی چھوڑ دے گا کہ یہ زمین میں فساد برپا کریں اور تجھے اور تیرے خداؤں کو چھوڑ دیں -اس نے کہا کہ میں عنقریب ان کے لڑکوں کو قتل کر ڈالوں گا اور ان کی عورتوں کو زندہ رکھوں گا .میں ان پر قوت اور غلبہ رکھتا ہوں

فرعون سے اُس کی قوم کے سرداروں نے کہا ——کیا تو موسیٰؑ اور اُس کی قوم کو یونہی چھوڑ دے گا کہ ملک میں فساد پھیلائیں اور وہ تیری اور تیرے معبودوں کی بندگی چھوڑ بیٹھے؟—— فرعون نے جواب دیا ——میں اُن کے بیٹوں کو قتل کراؤں گا اور اُن کی عورتوں کو جیتا رہنے دوں گا ہمارے اقتدار کی گرفت ان پر مضبوط ہے——

اور قوم فرعون کے سردار بولے کیا تو موسیٰ اور اس کی قوم کو اس لیے چھوڑ تا ہے کہ وہ زمین میں فساد پھیلائیں اور موسیٰ تجھے اور تیرے ٹھہرائے ہوئے معبودوں کو چھوڑدے بولا اب ہم ان کے بیٹوں کو قتل کریں گے اور ان کی بیٹیاں زندہ رکھیں گے اور ہم بیشک ان پر غالب ہیں

قومِ فرعون کے سرداروں نے کہا! تو موسیٰ اور اس کی قوم کے آدمیوں کو اس لئے چھوڑے رکھے گا کہ وہ ملک میں فساد پھیلاتے رہیں اور تمہیں اور تمہارے معبودوں کو چھوڑتے رہیں۔ اس (فرعون) نے (چین بجبین ہوکر) کہا ہم عنقریب ان کے لڑکوں کو قتل کریں گے اور ان کی عورتوں کو زندہ رہنے دیں گے اور ہم (پوری طرح) ان پر غالب ہیں۔

قَالَ
Said
مُوسَىٰ
Moosa
لِقَوْمِهِ
to his nation,
ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟
[Be aided
بِٱللَّهِ
with the One
وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟
and persevere,
ۖ
إِنَّ
certainly
ٱلْأَرْضَ
the Earth
لِلَّهِ
belongs to the One
يُورِثُهَا
— He bequeaths it to
مَن
whom
يَشَآءُ
He desires
مِنْ
from
عِبَادِهِۦ
His servants —
ۖ
وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ
and the end
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
belongs to the aware ones.]
٧
١٢٨
قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ ۖ وَٱلْعَٰقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
Said Moosa to his nation, [Be aided with the One and persevere, certainly the Earth belongs to the One — He bequeaths it to whom He desires from His servants — and the end belongs to the aware ones.]

And Moses said unto his people: Seek help in Allah and endure. Lo! the earth is Allah's. He giveth it for an inheritance to whom He will. And lo! the sequel is for those who keep their duty (unto Him).

Moses said to his people, [Turn to Allah for help and be patient. The earth indeed belongs to Allah, and He gives its inheritance to whomever He wishes of His servants, and the outcome will be in favour of the Godwary.]

Moses told his people to seek help from God and exercise patience. The earth belongs to Him and He has made it the heritage of whichever of His servants He chooses. The final victory is for the pious ones.

(The people) replied,
أُوذِينَا
[We were in pain

تَأْتِيَنَا
you brought to us,
وَمِنۢ
and of
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
that
جِئْتَنَا
you came to us.]
ۚ
قَالَ
(Moosa) replied,
عَسَىٰ
[Perhaps (wants)
رَبُّكُمْ
your Rabb
أَن
that
يُهْلِكَ
He destroys
عَدُوَّكُمْ
your animosity,
وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ
and He will make you successor
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the land,
فَيَنظُرَ
then He will see
كَيْفَ
how
تَعْمَلُونَ
you do.]
٧
١٢٩
قَالُوٓا۟ أُوذِينَا مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا ۚ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ
(The people) replied, [We were in pain from before that you brought to us, and of after that you came to us.] (Moosa) replied, [Perhaps (wants) your Rabb that He destroys your animosity, and He will make you successor in the land, then He will see how you do.]

They said: We suffered hurt before thou camest unto us, and since thou hast come unto us. He said: It may be that your Lord is going to destroy your adversary and make you viceroys in the earth, that He may see how ye behave.

They said, [We were tormented before you came to us and [also] after you came to us.] He said, [Maybe your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land, and then He will see how you act.]

His people said, [We suffered a great deal before you came and we are still suffering even after you have come.] Moses (tried to encourage them) by saying, [There is hope that your Lord will destroy your enemies and make you (their) successors in the land. So consider how you act.]

They said: We have been persecuted before you came to us and since you have come to us. He said: It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the land, then He will see how you act.

They replied, [We were being persecuted before you came to us, and we are still being persecuted.] He said, [Your Lord may well destroy your enemy and make you successors to the land. Then He will see how you conduct yourselves.]

قوم نے کہا کہ ہم تمہارے آنے سے پہلے بھی ستائے گئے اور تمہارے آنے کے بعد بھی ستائے گئے -موسٰی علیھ السّلامنے جواب دیا کہ عنقریب تمہارا پروردگار تمہارے دشمن کو ہلاک کردے گا اور تمہیں زمین میں اس کا جانشین بنادے گا اور پھر دیکھے گا تمہارا طرز عمل کیسا ہوتا ہے

اس کی قوم کے لوگوں نے کہا ——تیرے آنے سے پہلے بھی ہم ستائے جاتے تھے اور اب تیرے آنے پر بھی ستائے جا رہے ہیں—— اس نے جواب دیا ——قریب ہے وہ وقت کہ تمہارا رب تمہارے دشمن کو ہلاک کر دے اور تم کو زمین میں خلیفہ بنائے، پھر دیکھے کہ تم کیسے عمل کرتے ہو——

بولے ہم ستائے گئے آپ کے آنے سے پہلے اور آپ کے تشریف لانے کے بعد کہا قریب ہے کہ تمہارا رب تمہارے دشمن کو ہلاک کرے اور اس کی جگہ زمین کا مالک تمہیں بنائے پھر دیکھے کیسے کام کرتے ہو

ان لوگوں (بنی اسرائیل) نے کہا ہم آپ کے آنے سے پہلے بھی ستائے جاتے رہے اور آپ کے آنے کے بعد بھی۔ انہوں نے کہا! عنقریب تمہارا پروردگار تمہارے دشمن کو ہلاک کر دے گا اور تمہیں زمین میں (ان کا) جانشین بنائے گا (تمہیں اقتدار عطا فرمائے گا) تاکہ دیکھے کہ تم کیسے عمل کرتے ہو؟

And certainly
أَخَذْنَآ
We took
ءَالَ
people of
فِرْعَوْنَ
Fir'oun
بِٱلسِّنِينَ
through years
وَنَقْصٍۢ
while with loss
مِّنَ
of
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
the results (of their efforts)
لَعَلَّهُمْ
so that they may
يَذَّكَّرُونَ
remember.
٧
١٣٠
وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِٱلسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
And certainly We took people of Fir'oun through years while with loss of the results (of their efforts) so that they may remember.

And we straitened Pharaoh's folk with famine and dearth of fruits, that peradventure they might heed.

Certainly We afflicted Pharaoh]s clan with droughts and loss of produce, so that they may take admonition.

Then whenever
جَآءَتْهُمُ
came to them
ٱلْحَسَنَةُ

قَالُوا۟
they said,
لَنَا
[Because of us
هَٰذِهِۦ
this here is.],
ۖ
وَإِن
and when
تُصِبْهُمْ
fell upon them
سَيِّئَةٌۭ
bad
يَطَّيَّرُوا۟
they ascribed it
بِمُوسَىٰ
with Moosa
وَمَن
and whoever was
مَّعَهُۥٓ
with him.
ۗ
أَلَآ
But no,
إِنَّمَا
certainly
طَٰٓئِرُهُمْ
their ascriptions are
عِندَ
against
ٱللَّهِ
the One
وَلَٰكِنَّ
but
أَكْثَرَهُمْ
majority of them
لَا
not
يَعْلَمُونَ
know.
٧
١٣١
فَإِذَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْحَسَنَةُ قَالُوا۟ لَنَا هَٰذِهِۦ ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۭ يَطَّيَّرُوا۟ بِمُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّمَا طَٰٓئِرُهُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Then whenever came to them the good they said, [Because of us this here is.], and when fell upon them bad they ascribed it with Moosa and whoever was with him. But no, certainly their ascriptions are against the One but majority of them not know.

But whenever good befell them, they said: This is ours; and whenever evil smote them they ascribed it to the evil auspices of Moses and those with him. Surely their evil auspice was only with Allah. But most of them knew not.

But whenever any good came to them, they would say, [This is our due.] And if any ill visited them, they took it for ill omens attending Moses and those who were with him. (Look! Indeed the cause of their ill omens is from Allah, but most of them do not know.)

But they would always ascribe their well-being to themselves and the misfortunes that they would experience to Moses and his people. Their fate is certainly in the hands of God but many of them do not know.

But when good befell them they said: This is due to us; and when evil afflicted them, they attributed it to the ill-luck of Musa and those with him; surely their evil fortune is only from Allah but most of them do not know.

then when something good came to them, they said, [It is our due!] -- but when something bad came, they ascribed it as an ill-omen to Moses and those with him. Surely their [evil] fortune had been decreed by God, but most of them did not know this.

اس کے بعد جب ان کے پاس کوئی نیکی آئی تو انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ تو ہمارا حق ہے اور جب برائی آئی تو کہنے لگے کہ یہ موسٰی علیھ السّلاماور ان کے ساتھیوں کا اثر ہے -آگاہ ہوجاؤ کہ ان کی بدشگونی کے اسباب خدا کے یہاں معلوم ہیں لیکن ان کی اکثریت اس رازسے بے خبر ہے

مگر اُن کا حال یہ تھا کہ جب اچھا زمانہ آتا تو کہتے کہ ہم اِسی کے مستحق ہیں، اور جب برا زمانہ آتا تو موسیٰؑ اور اس کے ساتھیوں کو اپنے لیے فال بد ٹھیراتے، حالانکہ در حقیقت ان کی فال بد تو اللہ کے پاس تھی، مگر ان میں سے اکثر بے علم تھے

تو جب انہیں بھلائی ملتی کہتے یہ ہمارے لیے ہے اور جب برائی پہنچتی تو موسیٰ اور اس کے ساتھ والوں سے بدشگونی لیتے سن لو ان کے نصیبہ کی شامت تو اللہ کے یہاں ہے لیکن ان میں اکثر کو خبر نہیں،

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
