ٱلْإِنجِيلَ

وَجَعَلْنَا

فِى

قُلُوبِ

ٱلَّذِينَ

ٱتَّبَعُوهُ

رَأْفَةًۭ

وَرَحْمَةًۭ

وَرَهْبَانِيَّةً

ٱبْتَدَعُوهَا

عَلَيْهِمْ

إِلَّا

ٱبْتِغَآءَ

رِضْوَٰنِ

فَمَا

رَعَوْهَا

حَقَّ

رِعَايَتِهَا

ۖ

فَـَٔاتَيْنَا

ٱلَّذِينَ

ءَامَنُوا۟

مِنْهُمْ

أَجْرَهُمْ

ۖ

وَكَثِيرٌۭ

مِّنْهُمْ

فَٰسِقُونَ

ثُمَّ قَفَّيْنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِم بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيْنَا بِعِيسَى ٱبْنِ مَرْيَمَ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ٱلْإِنجِيلَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ رَأْفَةًۭ وَرَحْمَةًۭ وَرَهْبَانِيَّةً ٱبْتَدَعُوهَا مَا كَتَبْنَٰهَا عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ رِضْوَٰنِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَا رَعَوْهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَتِهَا ۖ فَـَٔاتَيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ أَجْرَهُمْ ۖ وَكَثِيرٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Then We caused Our messengers to follow in their footsteps; and We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow, and gave him the Gospel, and placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. But monasticism they invented - We ordained it not for them - only seeking Allah's pleasure, and they observed it not with right observance. So We give those of them who believe their reward, but many of them are evil-livers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then We followed them up with Our apostles and We followed [them] with Jesus son of Mary, and We gave him the Evangel, and We put kindness and mercy into the hearts of those who followed him. But as for monasticism, they innovated it—We had not prescribed it for them—only seeking Allah]s pleasure. Yet they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave to the faithful among them their [due] reward, but many of them are transgressors. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Then We sent Our other Messengers to follow their traditions. After them We sent Jesus, the son of Mary, to whom We gave the Gospel. In the hearts of his followers We placed compassion and mercy. We did not command them to lead the monastic life. This was their own method of seeking the pleasure of God. Despite this intention, they did not properly observe it (the monastic life). To the believers among them, We gave their reward but many of them are evil-doers. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Then We made Our apostles to follow in their footsteps, and We sent Isa son of Marium afterwards, and We gave him the Injeel, and We put in the hearts of those who followed him kindness and mercy; and (as for) monkery, they innovated it-- We did not prescribe it to them-- only to seek Allah's pleasure, but they did not observe it with its due observance; so We gave to those of them who believed their reward, and most of them are transgressors. - Shakir, Habib

Then, in their wake, We followed them up with [others of] Our messengers and after them Jesus, son of Mary. We gave him the Gospel and imbued the hearts of those who followed him with compassion and mercy. But We did not prescribe monasticism for them: that was their own innovation by which they sought to please God. But then, they did not observe it in the way that it should have been observed. So We rewarded only those who were truly faithful, for many of them were disobedient. - Wahiduddin Khan

پھر ہم نے ان ہی کے نقش قدم پر دوسرے رسول بھیجے اور ان کے پیچھے عیسٰی علیھ السّلام بن مریم علیھ السّلام کو بھیجا اور انہیں انجیل عطا کردی اور ان کا اتباع کرنے والوں کے دلوں میں مہربانی اور محبت قرار دے دی اور جس رہبانیت کو ان لوگوں نے ازخود ایجاد کرلیا تھا اور اس سے رضائے خدا کے طلبگار تھے اسے ہم نے ان کے اوپر فرض نہیں قرار دیا تھا اور انہوں نے خود بھی اس کی مکمل پاسداری نہیں کی تو ہم نے ان میں سے واقعا ایمان لانے والوں کو اجر عطا کردیا اور ان میں سے بہت سے تو بالکل فاسق اور بدکردار تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اُن کے بعد ہم نے پے در پے اپنے رسول بھیجے، اور ان سب کے بعد عیسیٰؑ ابن مریم کو مبعوث کیا اور اُس کو انجیل عطا کی اور جن لوگوں نے اس کی پیروی اختیار کی اُن کے دلوں میں ہم نے ترس اور رحم ڈال دیا اور رہبانیت انہوں نے خود ایجاد کرلی، ہم نے اُسے اُن پر فرض نہیں کیا تھا، مگر اللہ کی خوشنودی کی طلب میں انہوں نے آپ ہی یہ بدعت نکالی اور پھر اس کی پابندی کرنے کا جو حق تھا اسے ادا نہ کیا اُن میں سے جو لوگ ایمان لائے ہوئے تھے اُن کا اجر ہم نے ان کو عطا کیا، مگر ان میں سے اکثر لوگ فاسق ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر ہم نے ان کے پیچھے اسی راہ پر اپنے اور رسول بھیجے اور ان کے پیچھے عیسیٰ بن مریم کو بھیجا اور اسے انجیل عطا فرمائی اور اس کے پیروں کے دل میں نرمی اور رحمت رکھی اور راہب بننا تو یہ بات انہوں نے دین میں اپنی طرف سے نکالی ہم نے ان پر مقرر نہ کی تھی ہاں یہ بدعت انہوں نے ا لله کی رضا چاہنے کو پیدا کی پھر اسے نہ نباہا جیسا اس کے نباہنے کا حق تھا تو ان کے ایمان والوں کو ہم نے ان کا ثواب عطا کیا، اور ان میں سے بہتیرے فاسق ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

پھر ہم نے انہی کے نقشِ قدم پر اپنے اور رسول(ع) بھیجے اور انہی کے پیچھے عیسیٰ (ع) بن مریم (ع) کو بھیجا اور انہیں انجیل عطا کی اور جن لوگوں نے ان کی پیروی کی ہم نے ان کے دلوں میں شفقت اور رحمت رکھ دی اور رہبانیت انہوں نے خود ایجاد کی ہم نے اسے ان پر فرض نہیں کیا تھا۔ ہاں البتہ انہوں نے اسے خدا کی خوشنودی کی خاطر اسے اختیار کیا تھا پھر انہوں نے اس کی پوری رعایت نہ کی تو جو لوگ ان میں ایمان لائے ہم نے ان کو ان کا اجر عطا کیا اور ان میں سے اکثر لوگ فاسق (نافرمان) ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
