شَهِدَ
Witnessed
ٱللَّهُ
the One,
أَنَّهُۥ
indeed He is —
لَآ
no
إِلَٰهَ
unchallenged master
إِلَّا
except
هُوَ
Him —
وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
and the malaikati,
وَأُو۟لُوا۟
and foremost of
ٱلْعِلْمِ
the knowledge,
قَآئِمًۢا
standing together
بِٱلْقِسْطِ
with the Justice;
ۚ
لَآ
no
إِلَٰهَ
unchallenged master
إِلَّا
except
هُوَ
He who is
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
the Fortified,
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
the Most Wise.
٣
١٨
شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
Witnessed the One, indeed He is — no unchallenged master except Him — and the malaikati, and foremost of the knowledge, standing together with the Justice; no unchallenged master except He who is the Fortified, the Most Wise.

Allah (Himself) is Witness that there is no Allah save Him. And the angels and the men of learning (too are witness). Maintaining His creation in justice, there is no Allah save Him the Almighty, the Wise.

Allah, maintainer of justice, the Almighty and the All-wise, besides whom there is no god, bears witness that there is no god except Him, and [so do] the angels and those who possess knowledge.

Surely
ٱلدِّينَ
the governance system
عِندَ
from
ٱللَّهِ
the One is
ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ
the complete commitment,
ۗ
وَمَا
and not
ٱخْتَلَفَ
disputed
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
أُوتُوا۟
were given
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
إِلَّا
except
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
what
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them of
ٱلْعِلْمُ
the knowledge
بَغْيًۢا
out of revulsion
بَيْنَهُمْ
between themselves;
ۗ
وَمَن
and whoever
يَكْفُرْ
denies
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
about signs of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
فَإِنَّ
then certainly
ٱللَّهَ
the One is
سَرِيعُ
swift of
ٱلْحِسَابِ
the reckoning.
٣
١٩
إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ ۗ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ ۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ
Surely the governance system from the One is the complete commitment, and not disputed the ones who were given the Book except from after what came to them of the knowledge out of revulsion between themselves; and whoever denies about signs of the One then certainly the One is swift of the reckoning.

Lo! religion with Allah (is) the Surrender (to His Will and Guidance). Those who (formerly) received the Scripture differed only after knowledge came unto them, through transgression among themselves. Whoso disbelieveth the revelations of Allah (will find that) lo! Allah is swift at reckoning.

Indeed, with Allah religion is Islam, and those who were given the Book did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves. And whoever denies Allah]s signs [should know that] Allah is swift at reckoning.

In the sight of God Islam is the religion. The People of the Book created differences in the matters (of religion) because of their hostility among themselves, only after knowledge had come to them. Let whoever denies the revelations of God know that the reckoning of God is swift.

اللہ کے نزدیک دین صرف اسلام ہے اس دین سے ہٹ کر جو مختلف طریقے اُن لوگوں نے اختیار کیے، جنہیں کتاب دی گئی تھی، اُن کے اِس طرز عمل کی کوئی وجہ اس کے سوا نہ تھی کہ انہوں نے علم آ جانے کے بعد آپس میں ایک دوسرے پر زیادتی کرنے کے لیے ایسا کیا اور جو کوئی اللہ کے احکام و ہدایات کی اطاعت سے انکار کر دے، اللہ کو اس سے حساب لیتے کچھ دیر نہیں لگتی ہے

بیشک اللہ کے یہاں اسلام ہی دین ہے اور پھوٹ میں نہ پڑے کتابی مگر اس کے کہ انہیں علم آچکا اپنے دلو ں کی جلن سے اور جو اللہ کی آیتوں کا منکر ہو تو بیشک اللہ جلد حساب لینے والا ہے،

فَإِنْ
Then if
حَآجُّوكَ
they argue with you
فَقُلْ
so say,
أَسْلَمْتُ
[I have submitted
وَجْهِىَ
my aim
لِلَّهِ
for the One
وَمَنِ
and who
ٱتَّبَعَنِ
followed.]
ۗ
وَقُل
And say
لِّلَّذِينَ
to the ones who
أُوتُوا۟
have been given
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
وَٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ
and those who have not read,
ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ
[Do you submit?]
ۚ
فَإِنْ
Then if
أَسْلَمُوا۟
they submit
فَقَدِ
then surely
ٱهْتَدَوا۟
they are guided.
ۖ
وَّإِن
And if
تَوَلَّوْا۟
they turn back
فَإِنَّمَا
then it is only that
عَلَيْكَ
upon you is
ٱلْبَلَٰغُ
the notification;
ۗ
وَٱللَّهُ
and the One is
بَصِيرٌۢ
watchful
بِٱلْعِبَادِ
about (His) slaves.
٣
٢٠
فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ ۗ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ ۚ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ ۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ
Then if they argue with you so say, [I have submitted my aim for the One and who followed.] And say to the ones who have been given the Book and those who have not read, [Do you submit?] Then if they submit then surely they are guided. And if they turn back then it is only that upon you is the notification; and the One is watchful about (His) slaves.

And if they argue with thee, (O Muhammad), say: I have surrendered my purpose to Allah and (so have) those who follow me. And say unto those who have received the Scripture and those who read not: Have ye (too) surrendered? If they surrender, then truly they are rightly guided, and if they turn away, then it is thy duty only to convey the message (unto them). Allah is Seer of (His) bondmen.

If they argue with you, say, [I have submitted my will to Allah, and [so has] he who follows me.] And say to those who were given the Book and the uninstructed ones, [Do you submit?] If they submit, they will certainly be guided; but if they turn away, then your duty is only to communicate, and Allah watches His servants.

(Muhammad), if the People of the Book argue against you, say, [I and those who follow me have submitted ourselves to God.] Ask the People of the Book and the illiterate ones, [Have you embraced Islam?] If they embrace Islam, they will find guidance but if they turn away, your task is just to preach. God knows all about His servants.

But if they dispute with you, say: I have submitted myself entirely to Allah and (so) every one who follows me; and say to those who have been given the Book and the unlearned people: Do you submit yourselves? So if they submit then indeed they follow the right way; and if they turn back, then upon you is only the delivery of the message and Allah sees the servants.

If they dispute with you, say, [I have submitted my whole being to God and so have those who follow me.] And ask those who have been given the Book, as well as the unlettered, [Do you submit yourselves to God in the same way?] If they submit themselves to Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away, your duty is only to convey the message. God is observant of all His servants.

اے پیغمبر اگر یہ لوگ آپ سے کٹ حجتی کریں تو کہہ دیجئے کہ میرا رخ تمام تر اللہ کی طرف ہے اور میرے پیرو بھی ایسے ہی ہیں اور پھر اہلِ کتاب اور جاہل مشرکین سے پوچھئے کیا تم اسلام لے آئے- اگر وہ اسلام لے آئے تو گویا ہدایت پاگئے اور اگر منہ پھیر لیا تو آپ کا فرض صرف تبلیغ تھا اور اللہ اپنے بندوں کو خوب پہچانتا ہے

اب اگر یہ لوگ تم سے جھگڑا کریں، توا ن سے کہو: ——میں نے اور میرے پیروؤں نے تو اللہ کے آگے سر تسلیم خم کر دیا ہے—— پھر اہل کتاب اور غیر اہل کتاب دونوں سے پوچھو: ——کیا تم نے بھی اس کی اطاعت و بندگی قبول کی؟—— اگر کی تو وہ راہ راست پا گئے، اور اگر اس سے منہ موڑا تو تم پر صرف پیغام پہنچا دینے کی ذمہ داری تھی آگے اللہ خود اپنے بندوں کے معاملات دیکھنے والا ہے

پھر اے محبوب! اگر وہ تم سے حجت کریں تو فرمادو میں اپنا منہ اللہ کے حضور جھکائے ہوں اور جومیرے پیرو ہوئے اور کتابیوں اور اَن پڑھوں سے فرماؤ کیا تم نے گردن رکھی پس اگر وہ گردن رکھیں جب تو راہ پاگئے اور اگر منہ پھیریں تو تم پر تو یہی حکم پہنچادینا ہے اور اللہ بندوں کو کو دیکھ رہا ہے،

پس اگر یہ لوگ آپ سے خواہ مخواہ حجت بازی کریں۔ تو کہہ دو کہ میں نے اور میری پیروی کرنے والوں نے تو اپنا سر خدا کے سامنے جھکا دیا ہے (اپنے کو اس کے سپرد کر دیا ہے) اور اہل کتاب اور جو کسی کتاب کے پڑھنے والے نہیں ہیں سے کہو: کیا تم بھی اسلام لائے ہو؟ پس اگر انہوں نے اسلام کا اقرار کر لیا تو گویا ہدایت پا گئے اور اگر (اس سے) منہ موڑا تو آپ کا فرض تو صرف پہنچا دینا ہے (منوانا نہیں ہے)۔ اور اللہ (اپنے) بندوں کو خوب دیکھنے (اور پہچاننے والا ہے)۔

Surely
ٱلَّذِينَ

and they kill (or corner)
ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ
the revolutionary leaders
بِغَيْرِ
without
حَقٍّۢ
right,
وَيَقْتُلُونَ
and they kill (or corner)
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
يَأْمُرُونَ
set affairs
بِٱلْقِسْطِ
with justice
مِنَ
of
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people,
فَبَشِّرْهُم
thus give them good news
بِعَذَابٍ
about a punishment
أَلِيمٍ
of suffering.
٣
٢١
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّۢ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
Surely the ones who lie about signs of the One and they kill (or corner) the revolutionary leaders without right, and they kill (or corner) the ones who set affairs with justice of the people, thus give them good news about a punishment of suffering.

⦿
Lo! those who disbelieve the revelations of Allah, and slay the prophets wrongfully, and slay those of mankind who enjoin equity: promise them a painful doom.

Those who deny Allah]s signs and kill the prophets unjustly and kill those who call for justice from among the people, inform them of a painful punishment.

جو لوگ اللہ کے احکام و ہدایات کو ماننے سے انکار کرتے ہیں اور اس کے پیغمبروں کو ناحق قتل کرتے ہیں اور ایسے لوگوں کی جان کے درپے ہو جاتے ہیں، جو خلق خدا میں عدل و راستی کا حکم دینے کے لیے اٹھیں، ان کو درد ناک سزا کی خوش خبری سنا دو

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those are
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
حَبِطَتْ
ruined
أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ
their deeds
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنْيَا
the World
وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
and the forth-coming,
وَمَا
and not
لَهُم
for them is
مِّن
of
نَّٰصِرِينَ
saviours.
٣
٢٢
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ
Those are the ones who ruined their deeds in the World and the forth-coming, and not for them is of saviours.

Those are they whose works have failed in the world and the Hereafter; and they have no helpers.

Do not
تَرَ
you see
إِلَى
at
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
أُوتُوا۟
are given
نَصِيبًۭا
an instalment
مِّنَ
of
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
the Book,
يُدْعَوْنَ
them being invited
إِلَىٰ
towards
كِتَٰبِ
book of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
لِيَحْكُمَ
so they can judge
بَيْنَهُمْ
amongst themselves,
ثُمَّ
but then
يَتَوَلَّىٰ
about turn
فَرِيقٌۭ
sectarians
مِّنْهُمْ
from them
وَهُم
and they are
مُّعْرِضُونَ
apologetic?
٣
٢٣
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ
Do not you see at the ones who are given an instalment of the Book, them being invited towards book of the One so they can judge amongst themselves, but then about turn sectarians from them and they are apologetic?

Hast thou not seen how those who have received a portion of the Scripture invoke the Scripture of Allah (in their disputes) that it may judge between them; then a faction of them turn away, being opposed (to it)?

Have you not regarded those who were given a share of the Book, who are summoned to the Book of Allah in order that it may judge between them, whereat a part of them refuse to comply and they are disregardful?

ذَٰلِكَ
That is
بِأَنَّهُمْ
due to their
قَالُوا۟
saying,
لَن
[Never shall
تَمَسَّنَا
touch us
ٱلنَّارُ
the fire
إِلَّآ
except
أَيَّامًۭا
for a days
مَّعْدُودَٰتٍۢ
limited in numbers],
ۖ
وَغَرَّهُمْ
and deluded them
فِى
in
دِينِهِم
their governance system
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
they were
يَفْتَرُونَ
inventing.
٣
٢٤
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًۭا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍۢ ۖ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِى دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
That is due to their saying, [Never shall touch us the fire except for a days limited in numbers], and deluded them in their governance system what they were inventing.

That is because they say: The Fire will not touch us save for a certain number of days. That which they used to invent hath deceived them regarding their religion.

So how then
إِذَا

جَمَعْنَٰهُمْ
We will collect them
لِيَوْمٍۢ
for a day
لَّا
no
رَيْبَ
doubt
فِيهِ
is in it,
وَوُفِّيَتْ
and will be satisfied
كُلُّ
every
نَفْسٍۢ
psyche
مَّا
what
كَسَبَتْ
it earned,
وَهُمْ
and they
لَا
not will be
يُظْلَمُونَ
done injustice to.
٣
٢٥
فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَٰهُمْ لِيَوْمٍۢ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
So how then when We will collect them for a day no doubt is in it, and will be satisfied every psyche what it earned, and they not will be done injustice to.

How (will it be with them) when We have brought them all together to a Day of which there is no doubt, when every soul will be paid in full what it hath earned, and they will not be wronged.

But how will it be [with them] when We gather them on a day in which there is no doubt, and every soul shall be recompensed fully for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged?

Say,
ٱللَّهُمَّ
[O Master of all of them!
مَٰلِكَ

the kingdom;

ٱلْمُلْكَ
the ownership to
مَن
whom
تَشَآءُ
You wish
وَتَنزِعُ
and You remove
ٱلْمُلْكَ
the ownership
مِمَّن
from whom
تَشَآءُ
You wish,
وَتُعِزُّ
and You promote
مَن
who
تَشَآءُ
You wish to
وَتُذِلُّ
and You demote
مَن
who
تَشَآءُ
You wish to;
ۖ
بِيَدِكَ
— by Your hand is
ٱلْخَيْرُ
the best —
ۖ
إِنَّكَ
certainly You
عَلَىٰ
upon
كُلِّ
all
شَىْءٍۢ
things
قَدِيرٌۭ
are capable.]
٣
٢٦
قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَٰلِكَ ٱلْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى ٱلْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ ۖ بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيْرُ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ
Say, [O Master of all of them! King of the kingdom; You give the ownership to whom You wish and You remove the ownership from whom You wish, and You promote who You wish to and You demote who You wish to; — by Your hand is the best — certainly You upon all things are capable.]

Say: O Allah! Owner of Sovereignty! Thou givest sovereignty unto whom Thou wilt, and Thou withdrawest sovereignty from whom Thou wilt. Thou exaltest whom Thou wilt, and Thou abasest whom Thou wilt. In Thy hand is the good. Lo! Thou art Able to do all things.

Say, [O Allah, Master of all sovereignty! You give sovereignty to whomever You wish, and strip of sovereignty whomever You wish; You make mighty whomever You wish, and You degrade whomever You wish; all choice is in Your hand. Indeed You have power over all things.]

(Muhammad), say, [Lord, Owner of the Kingdom, You give authority to whomever You want and take it away from whomever You want. You give honor to whomever You want and humiliate whomever You want. In Your hands is all virtue and You have power over all things.

یوں عرض کر، اے اللہ! ملک کے مالک تو جسے چاہے سلطنت دے اور جس سے چاہے چھین لے، اور جسے چاہے عزت دے اور جسے چاہے ذلت دے، ساری بھلائی تیرے ہی ہاتھ ہے، بیشک تو سب کچھ کرسکتا ہے

ۖ
وَتُخْرِجُ
and You bring out
ٱلْحَىَّ
the life
مِنَ
from
ٱلْمَيِّتِ
the dead
وَتُخْرِجُ
and You bring out
ٱلْمَيِّتَ
the dead
مِنَ
from
ٱلْحَىِّ
the life;
ۖ
وَتَرْزُقُ
and You provide provisions to
مَن
whom
تَشَآءُ
You wish to
بِغَيْرِ
without
حِسَابٍۢ
limit.]

٢٧
تُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ ۖ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ ۖ وَتَرْزُقُ مَن تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ
[You make enter the dark in the day-burst, and You make enter the day in the night; and You bring out the life from the dead and You bring out the dead from the life; and You provide provisions to whom You wish to without limit.]

Thou causest the night to pass into the day, and Thou causest the day to pass into the night. And Thou bringest forth the living from the dead, and Thou bringest forth the dead from the living. And Thou givest sustenance to whom Thou choosest, without stint.

Thou makest the night to pass into the day and Thou makest the day to pass into the night, and Thou bringest forth the living from the dead and Thou bringest forth the dead from the living, and Thou givest sustenance to whom Thou pleasest without measure.

وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ
and you are being alerted by
ٱللَّهُ
the One
نَفْسَهُۥ
Himself;
ۗ
وَإِلَى
and towards
ٱللَّهِ
the One is
ٱلْمَصِيرُ
the destination.

لَّا يَتَّخِذِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۖ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ فِى شَىْءٍ إِلَّآ أَن تَتَّقُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ تُقَىٰةًۭ ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ ۗ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
Not are to take the ones of conviction, the denying people as guardians from other than the ones of conviction; and whoever does that thus not (expect) from the One in that thing, except that you are aware of them being strong; and you are being alerted by the One Himself; and towards the One is the destination.

Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. Whoso doeth that hath no connection with Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them, taking (as it were) security. Allah biddeth you beware (only) of Himself. Unto Allah is the journeying.

The faithful should not take the faithless for allies instead of the faithful, and Allah will have nothing to do with those who do that, except when you are wary of them, out of caution. Allah warns you to beware of [disobeying] Him, and toward Allah is the return.

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
