ٱلَّذِى
The Entity who
جَعَلَ
made
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلْأَرْضَ
the Earth
فِرَٰشًۭا
spreading out,
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ
and the firmament
بِنَآءًۭ
as a roof,
وَأَنزَلَ
and sent down
مِنَ
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the firmament
مَآءًۭ
basic essence,
فَأَخْرَجَ
then brought out
بِهِۦ
through it
مِنَ
from
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
the results
رِزْقًۭا
as sustenance
لَّكُمْ
for you all.
ۖ
فَلَا
So do not
تَجْعَلُوا۟
make
لِلَّهِ
for the One
أَندَادًۭا
any oppositions
وَأَنتُمْ
while
تَعْلَمُونَ
you know of it.
٢
٢٢
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ فِرَٰشًۭا وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بِنَآءًۭ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزْقًۭا لَّكُمْ ۖ فَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ أَندَادًۭا وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ The Entity who made for you the Earth spreading out, and the firmament as a roof, and sent down from the firmament basic essence, then brought out through it from the results as sustenance for you all. So do not make for the One any oppositions while you know of it.

Who hath appointed the earth a resting-place for you, and the sky a canopy; and causeth water to pour down from the sky, thereby producing fruits as food for you. And do not set up rivals to Allah when ye know (better). - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
—He who made the earth a place of repose for you, and the sky a canopy, and He sends down water from the sky and with it brings forth crops for your sustenance. So do not set up equals to Allah, while you know. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Worship God who has rendered the earth as a floor for you and the sky as a dome for you and has sent water down from the sky to produce fruits for your sustenance. Do not knowingly set up anything as an equal to God. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Who made the earth a resting place for you and the heaven a canopy and (Who) sends down rain from the cloud, then brings forth with it subsistence for you of the fruits; therefore do not set up rivals to Allah while you know. - Shakir, Habib

who made the earth a bed, and the sky a canopy; and it is He who sends down rain from above for the growth of every kind of food for your sustenance. And do not knowingly set up rivals to God. - Wahiduddin Khan

اس پروردگار نے تمہارے لئے زمین کا فرش اور آسمان کا شامیانہ بنایا ہے اور پھر آسمان سے پانی برسا کر تمہاری روزی کے لئے زمین سے پھل نکالے ہیں لہذا اس کے لئے جان بوجھ کر کسی کو ہمسر اور مثل نہ بناؤ - Jawadi, Zeeshan

وہی تو ہے جِس نے تمہارے لیے زمین کا فرش بچھایا، آسمان کی چھت بنائی، اوپر سے پانی برسایا اور اس کے ذریعے سے ہر طرح کی پیداوار نکال کر تمہارے لیے رزق بہم پہنچایا پس جب تم یہ جانتے ہو تو دوسروں کو اللہ کا مد مقابل نہ ٹھیراؤ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

جس نے تمہارے لئے زمین کو بچھونا اور آسمان کو عمارت بنایا اور آسمان سے پانی اتارا تو اس سے کچھ پھل نکالے تمہارے کھانے کو۔ تو اللہ کے لئے جان بوجھ کر برابر والے نہ ٹھہراؤ - Ahmed Raza

And if
كُنتُمْ
you happen to be
فِى

رَيْبٍۢ
doubt
مِّمَّا
with what
نَزَّلْنَا
We have alighted
عَلَىٰ
over
عَبْدِنَا
Our servant,
فَأْتُوا۟
then come
بِسُورَةٍۢ
with a chapter
مِّن
of
مِّثْلِهِۦ
like it,
وَٱدْعُوا۟
and call for
شُهَدَآءَكُم
your witnesses
مِّن
from
دُونِ
inferior to
ٱللَّهِ
the One
إِن
if
كُنتُمْ
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
truthful.
٢
٢٣
وَإِن كُنتُمْ فِى رَيْبٍۢ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُوا۟ بِسُورَةٍۢ مِّن مِّثْلِهِۦ وَٱدْعُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ And if you happen to be in doubt with what We have alighted over Our servant, then come with a chapter of like it, and call for your witnesses from inferior to the One if you are truthful.
⦿
And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a surah of the like thereof, and call your witness beside Allah if ye are truthful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And if you are in doubt concerning what We have sent down to Our servant, then bring a surah like it, and invoke your helpers besides Allah, if you are truthful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Should you have any doubt about what We have revealed to Our servant, present one chapter comparable to it and call all your supporters, besides God, if your claim is true. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And if you are in doubt as to that which We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like it and call on your witnesses besides Allah if you are truthful. - Shakir, Habib

If you are in doubt about the revelation We have sent down to Our servant, then produce a single chapter like it, and call upon your helpers besides God, if you are truthful. - Wahiduddin Khan

اگر تمہیں اس کلام کے بارے میں کوئی شک ہے جسے ہم نے اپنے بندے پر نازل کیا ہے تو اس کا جیسا ایک ہی سورہ لے آؤ اور اللہ کے علاوہ جتنے تمہارے مددگار ہیںسب کو بلالو اگر تم اپنے دعوے اور خیال میںسچّے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اگر تمہیں اِس امر میں شک ہے کہ یہ کتا ب جو ہم نے اپنے بندے پر اتاری ہے، یہ ہماری ہے یا نہیں، تواس کے مانند ایک ہی سورت بنا لاؤ، اپنے سارے ہم نواؤں کو بلا لو، ایک اللہ کو چھوڑ کر باقی جس جس کی چاہو، مدد لے لو، اگر تم سچے ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اگر تمہیں کچھ شک ہو اس میں جو ہم نے اپنے (اس خاص) بندے پر اتارا تو اس جیسی ایک سورت تو لے آؤ اور اللہ کے سوا، اپنے سب حمایتیوں کو بلالو، اگر تم سچے ہو۔ - Ahmed Raza

اور جو کچھ (قرآن) ہم نے اپنے بندہ (خاص) پر نازل کیا ہے اگر تمہیں اس (کے کلام اللہ ہونے) میں شک ہے تو تم اس کے مانند ایک ہی سورہ لے آؤ۔ اور اگر تم سچے ہو تو ایک اللہ کو چھوڑ کر اپنے سب حمایتیوں و ہم نواؤں کو بھی بلا لو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

فَإِن
But if
لَّمْ
not
تَفْعَلُوا۟
you do,
وَلَن
and will not
تَفْعَلُوا۟
you do,
فَٱتَّقُوا۟
then be aware of
ٱلنَّارَ
the fire
ٱلَّتِى
whose
وَقُودُهَا
fuel are
ٱلنَّاسُ
the people
وَٱلْحِجَارَةُ
and the isolation,
ۖ
أُعِدَّتْ
prepared
لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
for the deniers.
٢
٢٤
فَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلُوا۟ وَلَن تَفْعَلُوا۟ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلْحِجَارَةُ ۖ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ But if not you do, and will not you do, then be aware of the fire whose fuel are the people and the isolation, prepared for the deniers.
⦿
And if ye do it not - and ye can never do it - then guard yourselves against the Fire prepared for disbelievers, whose fuel is of men and stones. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But if you do not—and you will not—then beware the Fire whose fuel will be humans and stones, prepared for the faithless. - Qarai, Ali Quli

If you do not produce such a chapter and you never will then guard yourselves against the fire whose fuel will be people and stones and is prepared for those who hide the Truth. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
But if you do (it) not and never shall you do (it), then be on your guard against the fire of which men and stones are the fuel; it is prepared for the unbelievers. - Shakir, Habib

But if you cannot do it, and you can never do it, then guard yourselves against the Fire whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for those who deny the truth. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اگر تم ایسا نہ کرسکے اور یقینا نہ کرسکوگے تو اس آگ سے ڈرو جس کا ایندھن انسان اور پتھر ہیں اور جسے کافرین کے لئے مہیا کیا گیا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

تو یہ کام کر کے دکھاؤ، لیکن اگر تم نے ایسا نہ کیا اور یقیناً کبھی نہیں کرسکتے، تو ڈرو اس آگ سے جس کا ایندھن بنیں گے انسان اور پتھر، جو مہیا کی گئی ہے منکرین حق کے لیے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر اگر نہ لا سکو اور ہم فرمائے دیتے ہیں کہ ہر گز نہ لا سکو گے تو ڈرو اس آگ سے، جس کا ایندھن آدمی اور پتھر ہیں تیار رکھی ہے کافروں کے لئے - - Ahmed Raza

وَبَشِّرِ
And give good news to
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ءَامَنُوا۟
became convinced
وَعَمِلُوا۟
and they did
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
the constructive works,
أَنَّ
that
لَهُمْ
for them are
جَنَّٰتٍۢ
gardens
تَجْرِى
— flowing
مِن
from
تَحْتِهَا
under those
ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ
are rivers.
ۖ
كُلَّمَا
Whatever
رُزِقُوا۟
are provided
مِنْهَا
from it
مِن
of
ثَمَرَةٍۢ
fruitful
رِّزْقًۭا
sustenance,
ۙ
قَالُوا۟
they say,
هَٰذَا
[This is
ٱلَّذِى
that
رُزِقْنَا
sustenance we were given
مِن
from
قَبْلُ
before],
ۖ
وَأُتُوا۟
while they were given
بِهِۦ
through it
مُتَشَٰبِهًۭا
a similarity,
ۖ
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
فِيهَآ
therein are
أَزْوَٰجٌۭ
partners who are
مُّطَهَّرَةٌۭ
progressive,
ۖ
وَهُمْ
and they
فِيهَا
therein
خَٰلِدُونَ
will be immortalized.
٢
٢٥
وَبَشِّرِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۖ كُلَّمَا رُزِقُوا۟ مِنْهَا مِن ثَمَرَةٍۢ رِّزْقًۭا ۙ قَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى رُزِقْنَا مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَأُتُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُتَشَٰبِهًۭا ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِيهَآ أَزْوَٰجٌۭ مُّطَهَّرَةٌۭ ۖ وَهُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ And give good news to the ones who became convinced and they did the constructive works, that for them are gardens — flowing from under those are rivers. Whatever are provided from it of fruitful sustenance, they say, [This is that sustenance we were given from before], while they were given through it a similarity, and for them therein are partners who are progressive, and they therein will be immortalized.

And give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow; as often as they are regaled with food of the fruit thereof, they say: this is what was given us aforetime; and it is given to them in resemblance. There for them are pure companions; there for ever they abide. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And give good news to those who have faith and do righteous deeds, that for them shall be gardens with streams running in them: whenever they are provided with their fruit for nourishment, they will say, [This is what we were provided before,] and they were given something resembling it. There will be chaste mates for them, and they will remain therein [forever]. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
(Muhammad), tell the righteously striving believers of the happy news, that for them there are gardens wherein streams flow. Whenever they get any fruit from the gardens as food, they will say, [This is just what we had before (we came here). These fruits are produced very much like them (those we had before).] They will have purified spouses and it is they who will live forever. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And convey good news to those who believe and do good deeds, that they shall have gardens in which rivers flow; whenever they shall be given a portion of the fruit thereof, they shall say: This is what was given to us before; and they shall be given the like of it, and they shall have pure mates in them, and in them, they shall abide. - Shakir, Habib

Give the good news to those who believe and do good works, that they will have Gardens through which rivers flow: whenever they are given fruit to eat they will say, [This is what we were provided with before,] because they were given similar things. And there will be pure spouses for them, and they will abide there forever. - Wahiduddin Khan

پیغمبر آپ ایمان اور عمل صالح والوں کو بشارت دے دیں کہ ان کے لئے ایسے باغات ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہیں. انہیں جب بھی وہاںکوئی پھل دیا جائے گا تو وہ یہی کہیں گے کہ یہ تو ہمیں پہلے مل چکا ہے. حالانکہ وہ صرف اس کے مشابہ ہوگا اور ان کے لئے وہاں پاکیزہ بیویاں بھی ہوں گی اور انہیں اس میں ہمیشہ رہنا بھی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اے پیغمبرؐ، جو لوگ اس کتاب پر ایمان لے آئیں اور (اس کے مطابق) اپنے عمل درست کر لیں، انہیں خوش خبری دے دو کہ اُن کے لیے ایسے باغ ہیں، جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی ان باغوں کے پھل صورت میں دنیا کے پھلوں سے ملتے جلتے ہونگے جب کوئی پھل انہیں کھانے کو دیا جائے گا، تو وہ کہیں گے کہ ایسے ہی پھل اس سے پہلے دنیا میں ہم کو دیے جاتے تھے ان کے لیے وہاں پاکیزہ بیویاں ہونگی، اور وہ وہاں ہمیشہ رہیں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور خوشخبری دے، انہیں جو ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کئے، کہ ان کے لئے باغ ہیں، جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں جب انہیں ان باغوں سے کوئی پھل کھانے کو دیا جائے گا، (صورت دیکھ کر) کہیں گے، یہ تو وہی رزق ہے جو ہمیں پہلے ملا تھا اور وہ (صورت میں) ملتا جلتا انہیں دیا گیا اور ان کے لئے ان باغوں میں ستھری بیبیاں ہیں اور وہ ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے - - Ahmed Raza

اور (اے رسول) ان لوگوں کو خوشخبری دے دو جو ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کئے۔ کہ ان کے لئے (بہشت کے) ایسے باغ ہیں کہ جن کے نیچے سے نہریں جاری ہیں۔ جب بھی انہیں ان (باغات) سے کوئی پھل کھانے کو ملے گا تو وہ (اس کی صورت دیکھ کر) کہیں گے کہ یہ تو وہی ہے جو اس سے پہلے ہمیں (دنیا میں) کھانے کو مل چکا ہے۔ حالانکہ انہیں جو دیا گیا ہے وہ (صورت میں دنیا کے پھل سے) ملتا جلتا ہے (مگر ذائقہ الگ ہوگا) اور ان کے لئے وہاں پاکیزہ بیویاں ہوں گی اور وہ ان (بہشتوں) میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Surely
ٱللَّهَ
the One is
لَا
not
يَسْتَحْىِۦٓ
ashamed
أَن
that
يَضْرِبَ
He cites
مَثَلًۭا
a simile of
مَّا
what is
بَعُوضَةًۭ
a tiny little thing,
فَمَا
then what is
فَوْقَهَا
more over it.
ۚ
فَأَمَّا
So as for
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ءَامَنُوا۟
believed
فَيَعْلَمُونَ
thus know
أَنَّهُ
that it is
ٱلْحَقُّ
the truth
مِن
from
رَّبِّهِمْ
their Rabb.
ۖ
وَأَمَّا
And as for
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
كَفَرُوا۟
are in denial
فَيَقُولُونَ
they just keep saying,
مَاذَآ
[What here
أَرَادَ
intended
ٱللَّهُ

بِهَٰذَا
with this
مَثَلًۭا
simile?]
ۘ
يُضِلُّ
Misguided are
بِهِۦ
through it
كَثِيرًۭا
many,
وَيَهْدِى
and guided
بِهِۦ
through it
كَثِيرًۭا
are many.
ۚ
وَمَا
But not
يُضِلُّ
are misguided
بِهِۦٓ
through it
إِلَّا
except
ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ
the liberals.
٢
٢٦
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْىِۦٓ أَن يَضْرِبَ مَثَلًۭا مَّا بَعُوضَةًۭ فَمَا فَوْقَهَا ۚ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَيَقُولُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلًۭا ۘ يُضِلُّ بِهِۦ كَثِيرًۭا وَيَهْدِى بِهِۦ كَثِيرًۭا ۚ وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ Surely the One is not ashamed that He cites a simile of what is a tiny little thing, then what is more over it. So as for the ones who believed thus know that it is the truth from their Rabb. And as for the ones who are in denial they just keep saying, [What here intended the One with this simile?] Misguided are through it many, and guided through it are many. But not are misguided through it except the liberals.

Lo! Allah disdaineth not to coin the similitude even of a gnat. Those who believe know that it is the truth from their Lord; but those who disbelieve say: What doth Allah wish (to teach) by such a similitude? He misleadeth many thereby, and He guideth many thereby; and He misleadeth thereby only miscreants; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed Allah is not ashamed to draw a parable whether it is that of a gnat or something above it. As for those who have faith, they know it is the truth from their Lord; and as for the faithless, they say, [What did Allah mean by this parable?] Thereby He leads many astray, and thereby He guides many; and He leads no one astray thereby except the transgressors - Qarai, Ali Quli

God does not hesitate to set forth parables of anything even a gnat. The believers know that it is the truth from their Lord, but those who deny the truth say, [What does God mean by such parables?] In fact, by such parables God misleads and guides many. However, He only misleads the evil doers - Sarwar, Muhammad

Surely Allah is not ashamed to set forth any parable-- (that of) a gnat or any thing above that; then as for those who believe, they know that it is the truth from their Lord, and as for those who disbelieve, they say: What is it that Allah means by this parable: He causes many to err by it and many He leads aright by it! but He does not cause to err by it (any) except the transgressors, - Shakir, Habib

God does not disdain to give a parable about a gnat or a smaller creature. The faithful know that it is the truth from their Lord, but those who deny the truth ask, [What could God mean by this parable?] He lets many go astray through it, and guides many by it. But He makes only the disobedient go astray: - Wahiduddin Khan

اللہ اس بات میں کوئی شرم نہیں محسوس کرتا کہ وہ مچھر یا اس سے بھی کمتر کی مثال بیان کرے. اب جو صاحبانِ ایمان ہیں وہ جانتے ہیں کہ یہ سب پروردگار کی طرف سے بر حق ہے اور جنہوں نے کفر اختیار کیا ہے وہ یہی کہتے ہیں کہ آخر ان مثالوں سے خدا کا مقصد کیا ہے. خدا اسی طرح بہت سے لوگوں کو گمراہی میں چھوڑ دیتا ہے اور بہت سوں کو ہدایت دے دیتا ہے اور گمراہی صرف انہیں کا حصّہ ہے جو فاسق ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ہاں، اللہ اس سے ہرگز نہیں شرماتا کہ مچھر یا اس سے بھی حقیر تر کسی چیز کی تمثیلیں دے جو لوگ حق بات کو قبول کرنے والے ہیں، وہ انہی تمثیلوں کو دیکھ کر جان لیتے ہیں کہ یہ حق ہے جو ان کے رب ہی کی طرف سے آیا ہے، اور جو ماننے والے نہیں ہیں، وہ انہیں سن کر کہنے لگتے ہیں کہ ایسی تمثیلوں سے اللہ کو کیا سروکار؟ اس طرح اللہ ایک ہی بات سے بہتوں کو گمراہی میں مبتلا کر دیتا ہے اور بہتوں کو راہ راست دکھا دیتا ہے اور گمراہی میں وہ انہی کو مبتلا کرتا ہے، جو فاسق ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بیشک اللہ اس سے حیا نہیں فرماتا کہ مثال سمجھانے کو کیسی ہی چیز کا ذکر فرمائے مچھر ہو یا اس سے بڑھ کر تو وہ جو ایمان لائے، وہ تو جانتے ہیں کہ یہ ان کے رب کی طرف سے حق ہے رہے کافر، وہ کہتے ہیں ایسی کہاوت میں اللہ کا کیا مقصُود ہے، اللہ بہتیروں کو اس سے گمراہ کرتا ہے اور بہتیروں کو ہدایت فرماتا ہے اور اس سے انہیں گمراہ کرتا ہے جو بے حکم ہیں- - Ahmed Raza

بے شک اللہ اس بات سے ہرگز نہیں شرماتا کہ (کسی مطلب کی وضاحت کے لئے) مچھر اور اس سے بھی بڑھ کر (کسی حقیر چیز) کی مثال بیان کرے۔ پس جو لوگ مؤمن ہیں وہ تو جانتے ہیں کہ یہ (مثال یقینا) حق ہے ان کے پروردگار کی طرف سے اور جو کافر ہیں وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایسی مثال سے اللہ کا کیا مقصد ہے؟ اللہ ایسی مثال سے بہت سوں کو گمراہی میں چھوڑ دیتا ہے اور بہت سوں کو ہدایت کرتا ہے اور وہ گمراہی میں نہیں چھوڑتا مگر فاسقوں (نافرمانوں) کو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

ٱلَّذِينَ
The ones who
يَنقُضُونَ
break
عَهْدَ
covenant of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
مِيثَٰقِهِۦ
its ratification,
وَيَقْطَعُونَ
and they disconnect
مَآ
what
أَمَرَ
commanded
ٱللَّهُ
the One
بِهِۦٓ
through it (through that covenant),
أَن
that which
يُوصَلَ
they should keep connected,
وَيُفْسِدُونَ
and they do corruption
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the land.
ۚ
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
They are
هُمُ
those
ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ
who have lost.

٢٧
ٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مِيثَٰقِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ The ones who break covenant of the One from after its ratification, and they disconnect what commanded the One through it (through that covenant), that which they should keep connected, and they do corruption in the land. They are those who have lost.

Those who break the covenant of Allah after ratifying it, and sever that which Allah ordered to be joined, and (who) make mischief in the earth: Those are they who are the losers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

—those who break the covenant made with Allah after having pledged it solemnly, and sever what Allah has commanded to be joined, and cause corruption on the earth—it is they who are the losers. - Qarai, Ali Quli

who break their established covenant with Him and the relations He has commanded to be kept and who spread evil in the land. These are the ones who lose a great deal. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Who break the covenant of Allah after its confirmation and cut asunder what Allah has ordered to be joined, and make mischief in the land; these it is that are the losers. - Shakir, Habib

كَيْفَ
How can
تَكْفُرُونَ
you deny
بِٱللَّهِ
about the One,
وَكُنتُمْ
that while you were
أَمْوَٰتًۭا
lifeless (did not exist)
فَأَحْيَٰكُمْ
then you were given life (made to exist),
ۖ
ثُمَّ
then
يُمِيتُكُمْ
He will make you die,
ثُمَّ
then
يُحْيِيكُمْ
He gives you life,
ثُمَّ
then
إِلَيْهِ
to Him
تُرْجَعُونَ
you will return?

كَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَكُنتُمْ أَمْوَٰتًۭا فَأَحْيَٰكُمْ ۖ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ How can you deny about the One, that while you were lifeless (did not exist) then you were given life (made to exist), then He will make you die, then He gives you life, then to Him you will return?

How disbelieve ye in Allah when ye were dead and He gave life to you! Then He will give you death, then life again, and then unto Him ye will return. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

How can you be unfaithful to Allah, [seeing that] you were lifeless and He gave you life, then He will make you die and then bring you to life, and then you will be brought back to Him? - Qarai, Ali Quli

How dare you deny the existence of God Who gave you life when you initially had no life. He will cause you to die and bring you to life again. Then you will return to His Presence. - Sarwar, Muhammad

تم اللہ کے ساتھ کفر کا رویہ کیسے اختیار کرتے ہو حالانکہ تم بے جان تھے، اس نے تم کو زندگی عطا کی، پھر وہی تمھاری جان سلب کرے گا، پھر وہی تمہیں دوبارہ زندگی عطا کرے گا، پھر اسی کی طرف تمہیں پلٹ کر جانا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بھلا تم کس طرح اللہ کا انکار کرتے ہو۔ حالانکہ تم مردہ (بے جان) تھے تو اسی نے تمہیں زندہ کیا (جاندار بنایا) پھر وہی تمہیں موت دے گا پھر وہی تمہیں زندگی دے گا۔ پھر تم اسی کی طرف لوٹائے جاؤگے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

هُوَ
He is
ٱلَّذِى
the Entity who
خَلَقَ
created
لَكُم
for you
مَّا
what is
فِى
within
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the Earth
جَمِيعًۭا
collectively,
ثُمَّ
then
ٱسْتَوَىٰٓ
equalized it
إِلَى
with
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the atmosphere,
فَسَوَّىٰهُنَّ
thus harmonized it in
سَبْعَ
multiple
سَمَٰوَٰتٍۢ
atmospheres;
ۚ
وَهُوَ
and He is
بِكُلِّ
about all
شَىْءٍ
things
عَلِيمٌۭ
well informed.
٢
٢٩
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًۭا ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَسَوَّىٰهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍۢ ۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌۭ He is the Entity who created for you what is within the Earth collectively, then equalized it with the atmosphere, thus harmonized it in multiple atmospheres; and He is about all things well informed.

He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth. Then turned He to the heaven, and fashioned it as seven heavens. And He is knower of all things. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when
قَالَ
said
رَبُّكَ
your Rabb
لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
to the malaikati,
إِنِّى
[I am
جَاعِلٌۭ
to place
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the Earth
خَلِيفَةًۭ
a viceroy (My representative)],
ۖ
قَالُوٓا۟
they replied,
أَتَجْعَلُ
[Why do You place
فِيهَا
therein
مَن
who
يُفْسِدُ
does corruption
فِيهَا
in there,
وَيَسْفِكُ
and sheds
ٱلدِّمَآءَ
the blood,
وَنَحْنُ
while we
نُسَبِّحُ
work hard
بِحَمْدِكَ
with Your power
وَنُقَدِّسُ
and we are dedicated
لَكَ
to You?].
ۖ
قَالَ
He said,
إِنِّىٓ
[I am
أَعْلَمُ
knowing of
مَا
what
لَا
not
تَعْلَمُونَ
you know.]

وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى جَاعِلٌۭ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةًۭ ۖ قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ ٱلدِّمَآءَ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ And when said your Rabb to the malaikati, [I am to place in the Earth a viceroy (My representative)], they replied, [Why do You place therein who does corruption in there, and sheds the blood, while we work hard with Your power and we are dedicated to You?]. He said, [I am knowing of what not you know.]

And when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth, they said: Wilt thou place therein one who will do harm therein and will shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee? He said: Surely I know that which ye know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When your Lord said to the angels, [Indeed I am going to set a viceroy on the earth,] they said, [Will You set in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we celebrate Your praise and proclaim Your sanctity?] He said, [Indeed I know what you do not know.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

When your Lord said to the angels, [I am appointing someone as my deputy on earth,] they said (almost protesting), [Are you going to appoint one who will commit corruption and bloodshed therein, even though we (are the ones who) commemorate Your Name and glorify You?] The Lord said, [I know that which you do not know]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when your Lord said to the angels, I am going to place in the earth a khalif, they said: What! wilt Thou place in it such as shall make mischief in it and shed blood, and we celebrate Thy praise and extol Thy holiness? He said: Surely I know what you do not know. - Shakir, Habib

When your Lord said to the angels, [I am putting a successor on earth,] they said, [Will You place someone there who will cause corruption on it and shed blood, while we glorify You with Your praise and extol Your holiness?] [God] answered, [Surely, I know that which you do not know.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اے رسول. اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب تمہارے پروردگار نے ملائکہ سے کہا کہ میں زمین میں اپنا خلیفہ بنانے والا ہوں اور انہوں نے کہا کہ کیا اسے بنائے گاجو زمین میں فساد برپا کرے اور خونریزی کرے جب کہ ہم تیری تسبیح اور تقدیس کرتے ہیں توارشاد ہوا کہ میں وہ جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر ذرا اس وقت کا تصور کرو جب تمہارے رب نے فرشتوں سے کہا تھا کہ ——میں زمین میں ایک خلیفہ بنانے والا ہوں—— انہوں نے عرض کیا: ——کیا آپ زمین میں کسی ایسے کو مقر ر کرنے والے ہیں، جو اس کے انتظام کو بگاڑ دے گا اور خونریزیاں کرے گا آپ کی حمد و ثنا کے ساتھ تسبیح اور آپ کے لیے تقدیس تو ہم کر ہی رہے ہیں—— فرمایا: ——میں جانتا ہوں جو کچھ تم نہیں جانتے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور یاد کرو جب تمہارے رب نے فرشتوں سے فرمایا، میں زمین میں اپنا نائب بنانے والا ہوں بولے کیا ایسے کو نائب کرے گا جو اس میں فساد پھیلائے گا اور خونریزیاں کرے گا اور ہم تجھے سراہتے ہوئے، تیری تسبیح کرتے اور تیری پاکی بولتے ہیں، فرمایا مجھے معلوم ہے جو تم نہیں جانتے- - Ahmed Raza

(اے رسول وہ وقت یاد کرو) جب تمہارے پروردگار نے فرشتوں سے کہا کہ میں زمین پر ایک خلیفہ (جانشین) بنانے والا ہوں تو انہوں نے کہا کیا تو اس میں اس کو (خلیفہ) بنائے گا جو اس میں فساد پھیلائے گا اور خون ریزی کرے گا۔ حالانکہ ہم تیری حمد و ثنائ کے ساتھ تسبیح کرتے ہیں اور تیری تقدیس (پاکیزگی بیان) کرتے ہیں۔ فرمایا: یقینا میں وہ کچھ جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And He taught
ءَادَمَ
Adam
ٱلْأَسْمَآءَ
the qualities of
كُلَّهَا
all of them,
ثُمَّ

عَرَضَهُمْ
displayed them
عَلَى
on
ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
the malaikati
فَقَالَ
then said,
أَنۢبِـُٔونِى
[Inform Me
بِأَسْمَآءِ
about the qualities
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
of these
إِن
if
كُنتُمْ
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
truthful.]

وَعَلَّمَ ءَادَمَ ٱلْأَسْمَآءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنۢبِـُٔونِى بِأَسْمَآءِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ And He taught Adam the qualities of all of them, then displayed them on the malaikati then said, [Inform Me about the qualities of these if you are truthful.]

And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And He taught Adam the Names, all of them; then presented them to the angels and said, [Tell me the names of these, if you are truthful.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

He taught Adam all the names. Then He introduced (some intelligent beings) to the angels, asking them to tell Him the names of these beings, if the angels were true to their claim (that they more deserved to be His deputies on earth). - Sarwar, Muhammad

And He taught Adam all the names, then presented them to the angels; then He said: Tell me the names of those if you are right. - Shakir, Habib

He taught Adam all the names, then He set them before the angels and said, [Tell Me the names of these, if what you say be true.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور خدا نے آدم علیھ السّلام کو تمام اسمائ کی تعلیم دی اور پھر ان سب کو ملائکہ کے سامنے پیش کرکے فرمایا کہ ذرا تم ان سب کے نام تو بتاؤ اگر تم اپنے خیالِ استحقاق میں سچّے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اس کے بعد اللہ نے آدمؑ کو ساری چیزوں کے نام سکھائے، پھر انہیں فرشتوں کے سامنے پیش کیا اور فرمایا ——اگر تمہارا خیال صحیح ہے (کہ کسی خلیفہ کے تقرر سے انتظام بگڑ جائے گا) تو ذرا ان چیزوں کے نام بتاؤ—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے آدم کو تمام (اشیاء کے) نام سکھائے پھر سب (اشیاء) کو ملائکہ پر پیش کرکے فرمایا سچے ہو تو ان کے نام تو بتاؤ - Ahmed Raza

قَالُوا۟
They said,
سُبْحَٰنَكَ
[We strive for You!
لَا
No
عِلْمَ
knowledge is
لَنَآ
with us
إِلَّا
except
مَا
what
عَلَّمْتَنَآ
You taught us.
ۖ
إِنَّكَ
Certainly You
أَنتَ
are
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
the Knowing,
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
the Judge.]

٣٢
قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَآ إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ They said, [We strive for You! No knowledge is with us except what You taught us. Certainly You are the Knowing, the Judge.]

They said: Be glorified! We have no knowledge saving that which Thou hast taught us. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower, the Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They said, [Immaculate are You! We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed You are the All-knowing, the All-wise.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The angels replied, [You are glorious indeed! We do not know more than what You have taught us. You alone are All-knowing and All-wise]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

They said: Glory be to Thee! we have no knowledge but that which Thou hast taught us; surely Thou art the Knowing, the Wise. - Shakir, Habib

انہوں نے کہا (ہر نقص و عیب سے) تیری ذات پاک ہے۔ ہمیں اس کے سوا جو تو نے ہمیں تعلیم دیا ہے (سکھایا ہے) اور مزید کچھ علم نہیں ہے۔ بے شک تو بڑا علم والا اور بڑی حکمت والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
