These are days limited in number; however if someone was from you in illness or on a journey thus count from days afterwards; and upon the ones who can afford it, a giving of means of sustenance to those who have become static and homeless; but whoever volunteered even more, then it is even better for him; and indeed your resistance training is good for all of you, if you happen to be of knowing.

⦿
(Fast) a certain number of days; and (for) him who is sick among you, or on a journey, (the same) number of other days; and for those who can afford it there is a ransom: the feeding of a man in need - but whoso doeth good of his own accord, it is better for him: and that ye fast is better for you if ye did but know -
- Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
That for known days. But should any of you be sick or on a journey, let it be a [similar] number of other days. Those who find it straining shall be liable to atonement by feeding a needy person. Should anyone do good of his own accord, that is better for him, and to fast is better for you, should you know.
- Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Fasting is only for a certain number of days. One who is sick or on a journey has to fast the same number of days at another time. Those who can afford a redemption should feed a poor person. Good deeds performed on one's own initiative will be rewarded. However, fasting is better and will be rewarded. Would that you knew this!
- Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
For a certain number of days; but whoever among you is sick or on a journey, then (he shall fast) a (like) number of other days; and those who are not able to do it may effect a redemption by feeding a poor man; so whoever does good spontaneously it is better for him; and that you fast is better for you if you know.
- Shakir, Habib
⦿
Fast for a specified number of days, but if any one among you is ill or on a journey, let him fast the same number of days later. For those who can fast only with extreme difficulty, there is a way to compensate -- the feeding of a needy person. But he who does good of his own accord shall be well rewarded; but to fast is better for you, if you only knew.
- Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
- Jawadi, Zeeshan
⦿
- Maududi, Abul A'ala
⦿
- Ahmed Raza
⦿

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.

Due Credits:

This website was possible by help of many people and forums who helped me to learn Arabic, Philosophy, Law, Psychology, and PHP and other Web scripts. To be honest, I do not even know the names of many but I did learn from them. Some of these people were already dead by the time I read their input.

The entire code of this website is available for the same reason, that what they taught me, I can only pay it forward.

The Arabic text of the Quran was obtained from Tanzil. The additional translations were also obtained from Tanzil from this link.

The social-sharing images of verses were obtained from Legacy Quran.com, and were then resized for proper social-media display.
