إِنَّ

يُقَٰتِلُونَ

سَبِيلِ

فَٱسْتَبْشِرُوا۟

بِبَيْعِكُمُ

بَايَعْتُم

بِهِۦ

وَذَٰلِكَ

هُوَ

ٱلْفَوْزُ

ٱلْعَظِيمُ

١١١

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱشْتَرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلَهُم بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةَ ۚ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ ۖ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّۭا فِى ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَٱلْإِنجِيلِ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚ وَمَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَٱسْتَبْشِرُوا۟ بِبَيْعِكُمُ ٱلَّذِى بَايَعْتُم بِهِۦ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain. It is a promise which is binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. Who fulfilleth His covenant better than Allah? Rejoice then in your bargain that ye have made, for that is the supreme triumph.

Indeed Allah has bought from the faithful their souls and their possessions for paradise to be theirs: they fight in the way of Allah, kill, and are killed. A promise binding upon Him in the Torah and the Evangel and the Quran. And who is truer to his promise than Allah? So rejoice in the bargain you have made with Him, and that is the great success.

God has purchased the souls and property of the believers in exchange for Paradise. They fight for the cause of God to destroy His enemies and to sacrifice themselves. This is a true promise which He has revealed in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran. No one is more true to His promise than God. Let this bargain be glad news for them. This is indeed the supreme triumph.

Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah's way, so they slay and are slain; a promise which is binding on Him in the Taurat and the Injeel and the Quran; and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? Rejoice therefore in the pledge which you have made; and that is the mighty achievement.

بیشک اللہ نے صاحبانِ ایمان سے ان کے جان و مال کو جنّت کے عوض خریدلیا ہے کہ یہ لوگ راہ هخدا میں جہاد کرتے ہیں اور دشمنوں کو قتل کرتے ہیں اور پھر خود بھی قتل ہوجاتے ہیں یہ وعدئہ برحق توریت ,انجیل اور قرآن ہر جگہ ذکر ہوا ہے اور خدا سے زیادہ اپنی عہد کا پورا کرنے والا کون ہوگا تو اب تم لوگ اپنی اس تجارت پر خوشیاں مناؤ جو تم نے خدا سے کی ہے کہ یہی سب سے بڑی کامیابی ہے

حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اللہ نے مومنوں سے ان کے نفس اور ان کے مال جنت کے بدلے خرید لیے ہیں وہ اللہ کی راہ میں لڑتے اور مارتے اور مرتے ہیں ان سے (جنت کا وعدہ) اللہ کے ذمے ایک پختہ وعدہ ہے توراۃ اور انجیل اور قرآن میں اور کون ہے جو اللہ سے بڑھ کر اپنے عہد کا پورا کرنے والا ہو؟ پس خوشیاں مناؤ اپنے اس سودے پر جو تم نے خدا سے چکا لیا ہے، یہی سب سے بڑی کامیابی ہے

بیشک اللہ نے مسلمانوں سے ان کے مال اور جان خریدلیے ہیں اس بدلے پر کہ ان کے لیے جنت ہے اللہ کی راہ میں لڑیں تو ماریں اور مریں اس کے ذمہ کرم پر سچا وعدہ توریت اور انجیل اور قرآن میں اور اللہ سے زیادہ قول کا پورا کون تو خوشیاں مناؤ اپنے سودے کی جو تم نے اس سے کیا ہے، اور یہی بڑی کامیابی ہے،

بے شک اللہ تعالیٰ نے مؤمنین سے ان کی جانیں خرید لی ہیں اور ان کے مال بھی اس قیمت پر کہ ان کے لیے بہشت ہے وہ اللہ کی راہ میں جنگ کرتے ہیں پس وہ مارتے بھی ہیں اور خود بھی مارے جاتے ہیں (ان سے) یہ وعدہ اس (اللہ تعالیٰ) کے ذمہ ہے تورات، انجیل اور قرآن (سب) میں اور اللہ سے بڑھ کر کون اپنے وعدہ کا پورا کرنے والا ہے؟ پس اے مسلمانو! تم اس سودے پر جو تم نے خدا سے کیا ہے خوشیاں مناؤ۔ یہی تو بڑی کامیابی ہے۔

ٱلتَّٰٓئِبُونَ ٱلْعَٰبِدُونَ ٱلْحَٰمِدُونَ ٱلسَّٰٓئِحُونَ ٱلرَّٰكِعُونَ ٱلسَّٰجِدُونَ ٱلْـَٔامِرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱلنَّاهُونَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱلْحَٰفِظُونَ لِحُدُودِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

⦿

(Triumphant) are those who turn repentant (to Allah), those who serve (Him), those who praise (Him), those who fast, those who bow down, those who fall prostrate (in worship), those who enjoin the right and who forbid the wrong and those who keep the limits (ordained) of Allah - And give glad tidings to believers!

[The faithful are] penitent, devout, celebrators of Allah]s praise, wayfarers, who bow [and] prostrate [in prayer], bid what is right and forbid what is wrong, and keep Allah]s bounds—and give good news to the faithful.

(The believers) who repent for their sins, worship God, praise Him, travel through the land (for pious purposes), kneel down and prostrate themselves in obedience to God, make others do good and prevent them from sins and abide by the laws of God, will receive a great reward. Let this be glad news for the believer.

They who turn (to Allah), who serve (Him), who praise (Him), who fast, who bow down, who prostrate themselves, who enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil, and who keep the limits of Allah; and give good news to the believers.

یہ لوگ توبہ کرنے والے ,عبادت کرنے والے ,حمد پروردگار کرنے والے ,راسِ خد امیں سفر کرنے والے ,رکوع کرنے والے ,سجدہ کرنے والے ,نیکیوں کا حکم دینے والے ,برائیوں سے روکنے والے اور حدود الٰہیہ کی حفاظت کرنے والے ہیں اور اے پیغمبر آپ انہیں جنّت کی بشارت دیدیں

اللہ کی طرف بار بار پلٹنے والے، اُس کے بندگی بجا لانے والے، اُس کی تعریف کے گن گانے والے، اُس کی خاطر زمین میں گردش کرنے والے، اُس کے آگے رکوع اور سجدے کرنے والے، نیکی کا حکم دینے والے، بدی سے روکنے والے، اور اللہ کے حدود کی حفاظت کرنے والے، (اس شان کے ہوتے ہیں وہ مومن جو اللہ سے خرید و فروخت کا یہ معاملہ طے کرتے ہیں) اور اے نبیؐ ان مومنوں کو خوش خبری دے دو

توبہ والے عبادت والے سراہنے والے روزے والے رکوع والے سجدہ والے بھلائی کے بتانے والے اور برائی سے روکنے والے اور اللہ کی حدیں نگاہ رکھنے والے اور خوشی سناؤ مسلمانوں

(ان لوگوں کے اوصاف یہ ہیں کہ) یہ توبہ کرنے والے (اللہ کی عبادت کرنے والے (اس کی) حمد و ثنا کرنے والے (اس کی راہ میں) سیر و سیاحت کرنے والے (یا روزہ رکھنے والے) رکوع و سجود کرنے والے، نیکی کا حکم دینے والے، برائی سے روکنے والے اور اللہ کی مقررہ حدود کی حفاظت کرنے والے ہیں اور (اے رسول) مؤمنوں کو خوشخبری دے دو (اور یہی وہ مؤمن ہیں)۔

مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِىِّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَن يَسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُوٓا۟ أُو۟لِى قُرْبَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

⦿

It is not for the Prophet, and those who believe, to pray for the forgiveness of idolaters even though they may be near of kin (to them) after it hath become clear that they are people of hell-fire.

The Prophet and the faithful may not plead for the forgiveness of the polytheists, even if they should be [their] relatives, after it has become clear to them that they will be the inmates of hell.

After it was made clear that the pagans are to be the dwellers of hell, the Prophet and the believers should not have sought forgiveness from God for them even though they may have been relatives.

نبی اور ایمان والوں کو لائق نہیں کہ مشرکوں کی بخشش چاہیں اگرچہ وہ رشتہ دار ہوں جبکہ انہیں کھل چکا کہ وہ دوزخی ہیں

وَمَا كَانَ ٱسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ إِلَّا عَن مَّوْعِدَةٍۢ وَعَدَهَآ إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُۥٓ أَنَّهُۥ عَدُوٌّۭ لِّلَّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ ۚ إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَأَوَّٰهٌ حَلِيمٌۭ

⦿

The prayer of Abraham for the forgiveness of his father was only because of a promise he had promised him, but when it had become clear unto him that he (his father) was an enemy to Allah he (Abraham) disowned him. Lo! Abraham was soft of heart, long-suffering.

Abraham]s pleading forgiveness for his father was only to fulfill a promise he had made him. So when it became manifest to him that he was an enemy of God, he repudiated him. Indeed Abraham was most plaintive and forbearing.

There was no other reason for Abraham to seek forgiveness from God for his father except the promise that he had made with him. When Abraham knew that his father was an enemy of God, he disowned his father. Abraham was very tender-hearted and forbearing.

And Ibrahim asking forgiveness for his sire was only owing to a promise which he had made to him; but when it became clear to him that he was an enemy of Allah, he declared himself to be clear of him; most surely Ibrahim was very tender-hearted forbearing.

ابراہیمؑ نے اپنے باپ کے لیے جو دعائے مغفرت کی تھی وہ تو اُس وعدے کی وجہ سے تھی جو اس نے اپنے باپ سے کیا تھا، مگر جب اس پر یہ بات کھل گئی کہ اس کا باپ خدا کا دشمن ہے تو وہ اس سے بیزار ہو گیا، حق یہ ہے کہ ابراہیمؑ بڑا رقیق القلب و خداترس اور بردبار آدمی تھا

اور ابراہیم کا اپنے باپ کی بخشش چاہنا وہ تو نہ تھا مگر ایک وعدے کے سبب جو اس سے کرچکا تھا پھر جب ابراہیم کو کھل گیا کہ وہ اللہ کا دشمن ہے اس سے تنکا توڑ دیا (لاتعلق ہوگیا) بیشک ابراہیم بہت آہیں کرنے والا متحمل ہے،

اور ابراہیم نے جو اپنے باپ (تایا) کے لیے دعائے مغفرت کی تھی تو وہ ایک وعدہ کی بنا پر تھی جو وہ کر چکے تھے۔ مگر جب ان پر واضح ہوگیا کہ وہ اللہ کا دشمن ہے تو آپ اس سے بیزار ہوگئے بے شک جناب ابراہیم بڑے ہی دردمند اور غمخوار و بردبار انسان تھے۔

وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُضِلَّ قَوْمًۢا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَىٰهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُبَيِّنَ لَهُم مَّا يَتَّقُونَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

⦿

It was never Allah's (part) that He should send a folk astray after He had guided them until He had made clear unto them what they should avoid. Lo! Allah is Aware of all things.

اللہ کا یہ طریقہ نہیں ہے کہ لوگوں کو ہدایت دینے کے بعد پھر گمراہی میں مبتلا کرے جب تک کہ انہیں صاف صاف بتا نہ دے کہ انہیں کن چیزوں سے بچنا چاہیے درحقیقت اللہ ہر چیز کا علم رکھتا ہے

اور اللہ کی شان نہیں کہ کسی قوم کو ہدایت کرکے گمراہ فرمائے جب تک انہیں صاف نہ بتادے کہ کسی چیز سے انہیں بچنا ہے بیشک اللہ سب کچھ جانتا ہے،

وَٱلْأَرْضِ

and the matter;

يُحْىِۦ

He gives life

وَيُمِيتُ

and He makes die;

وَمَا

and neither is

لَكُم

for you

مِّن

from

دُونِ

that which is beneath

ٱللَّهِ

the One

مِن

وَلِىٍّۢ

a protector,

وَلَا

nor

نَصِيرٍۢ

a helper.

١١٦

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۚ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ وَلَا نَصِيرٍۢ

Certainly the One is for Whom is ownership of the atmospheres and the matter; He gives life and He makes die; and neither is for you from that which is beneath the One of a protector, nor a helper.

لَّقَد تَّابَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ وَٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ وَٱلْأَنصَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ فِى سَاعَةِ ٱلْعُسْرَةِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا كَادَ يَزِيغُ قُلُوبُ فَرِيقٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِهِمْ رَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

Allah hath turned in mercy to the Prophet, and to the Muhajirin and the Ansar who followed him in the hour of hardship. After the hearts of a party of them had almost swerved aside, then turned He unto them in mercy. Lo! He is Full of Pity, Merciful for them.

Certainly Allah turned clemently to the Prophet and the Emigrants and the Helpers, who followed him in the hour of difficulty, after the hearts of a part of them were about to swerve. Then He turned clemently to them—indeed, He is most kind and merciful to them

اللہ نے معاف کر دیا نبیؐ کو اور ان مہاجرین و انصار کو جنہوں نے بڑی تنگی کے وقت میں نبیؐ کا ساتھ دیا اگر چہ ان میں سے کچھ لوگوں کے دل کجی کی طرف مائل ہو چکے تھے (مگر جب انہوں نے اس کجی کا اتباع نہ کیا بلکہ نبیؐ کا ساتھ ہی دیا تو) اللہ نے انہیں معاف کر دیا، بے شک اُس کا معاملہ اِن لوگوں کے ساتھ شفقت و مہربانی کا ہے

And to the three also (did He turn in mercy) who were left behind, when the earth, vast as it is, was straitened for them, and their own souls were straitened for them till they bethought them that there is no refuge from Allah save toward Him. Then turned He unto them in mercy that they (too) might turn (repentant unto Him). Lo! Allah! He is the Relenting, the Merciful.

When the earth became narrow for them with [all] its expanse, and their own souls weighed heavily on them, and they knew that there was no refuge from Allah except in Him, then He turned clemently toward them so that they might be penitent. God also forgave the three people who lagged behind. Grief made them feel as though there was no place in the whole vast earth to hide them or in their souls to conceal their sorrow. They began to believe that no one could save them from (the wrath of God) except He Himself. God pardoned them so that they would also repent for their sins. God is All-forgiving and All-merciful.

اور اُن تینوں کو بھی اس نے معاف کیا جن کے معاملہ کو ملتوی کر دیا گیا تھا جب زمین اپنی ساری وسعت کے باوجود ان پر تنگ ہو گئی اور ان کی اپنی جانیں بھی ان پر بار ہونے لگیں اور انہوں نے جان لیا کہ اللہ سے بچنے کے لیے کوئی جائے پناہ خود اللہ ہی کے دامن رحمت کے سوا نہیں ہے، تو اللہ اپنی مہربانی سے ان کی طرف پلٹا تاکہ وہ اس کی طرف پلٹ آئیں، یقیناً وہ بڑا معاف کرنے والا اور رحیم ہے

اور ان تین پر جو موقوف رکھے گئے تھے یہاں تک کہ جب زمین اتنی وسیع ہوکر ان پر تنگ ہوگئی اور ہو اپنی جان سے تنگ آئے اور انہیں یقین ہوا کہ اللہ سے پناہ نہیں مگر اسی کے پاس، پھر ان کی توبہ قبول کی کہ تائب رہیں، بیشک اللہ ہی توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان ہے،

مَا كَانَ لِأَهْلِ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ أَن يَتَخَلَّفُوا۟ عَن رَّسُولِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا يَرْغَبُوا۟ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ عَن نَّفْسِهِۦ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ لَا يُصِيبُهُمْ ظَمَأٌۭ وَلَا نَصَبٌۭ وَلَا مَخْمَصَةٌۭ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا يَطَـُٔونَ مَوْطِئًۭا يَغِيظُ ٱلْكُفَّارَ وَلَا يَنَالُونَ مِنْ عَدُوٍّۢ نَّيْلًا إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُم بِهِۦ عَمَلٌۭ صَٰلِحٌ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

It is not for the townsfolk of Al-Madinah and for those around them of the wandering Arabs so stay behind the messenger of Allah and prefer their lives to his life. That is because neither thirst nor toil nor hunger afflicteth them in the way of Allah, nor step they any step that angereth the disbelievers, nor gain they from the enemy a gain, but a good deed is recorded for them therefor. Lo! Allah loseth not the wages of the good.

It is not fitting for the people of Madinah and the Bedouins around them to hang back behind the Apostle of Allah and prefer their own lives to his life. That is because they neither experience any thirst, nor fatigue, nor hunger, in the way of Allah, nor do they tread any ground enraging the faithless, nor do they gain any ground against an enemy but a righteous deed is written for them on its account. Indeed Allah does not waste the reward of the virtuous.

The inhabitants of the city of Medina and the desert Arabs dwelling around it were not supposed to disobey the Messenger of God or to give priority to their own lives above that of the Prophet. For if they had given priority to the life of the Messenger of God, they would not have experienced the hardships of thirst, fatigue, or hunger in their struggle for the cause of God, nor would their travelling have enraged the disbelievers and they would not have received any injury from enemies that God would not record for them as a virtuous deed. God does not ignore the reward of those who do good.

It did not beseem the people of Medina and those round about them of the dwellers of the desert to remain behind the Apostle of Allah, nor should they desire (anything) for themselves in preference to him; this is because there afflicts them not thirst or fatigue or hunger in Allah's way, nor do they tread a path which enrages the unbelievers, nor do they attain from the enemy what they attain, but a good work is written down to them on account of it; surely Allah does not waste the reward of the doers of good;

It was not proper for the people of Madinah and those desert Arabs around them to hold back from following God's Messenger, and to prefer their own lives to his life. This is because whenever they suffer from thirst or weariness or hunger for God's cause, and whenever they take any step which provokes those who deny the truth, or inflicts any loss upon the enemy, it shall be counted as a good deed in the sight of God, God will not deny the righteous their reward,

اہل مدینہ یا اس کے اطراف کے دیہاتیوں کو یہ حق نہیں ہے کہ وہ رسول خدا سے الگ ہوجائیں یا اپنے نفس کو ان کے نفس سے زیادہ عزیز سمجھیں اس لئے کہ انہیں کوئی پیاسً تھکن یا بھوک راہ هخدا میں نہیں لگتی ہے اور نہ وہ کّفار کے دل رَکھانے والا کوئی قدم اٹھاتے ہیں نہ کسی بھی دشمن سے کچھ حاصل کرتے ہیں مگر یہ کہ ان کے عمل نیک کو لکھ لیا جاتا ہے کہ خدا کسی بھی نیک عمل کرنے والے کے اجر و ثواب کو ضائع نہیں کرتا ہے

مدینے کے باشندوں اور گرد و نواح کے بدویوں کو یہ ہرگز زبیا نہ تھا کہ اللہ کے رسول کو چھوڑ کر گھر بیٹھ رہتے اور اس کی طرف سے بے پروا ہو کر اپنے اپنے نفس کی فکر میں لگ جاتے اس لیے کہ ایسا کبھی نہ ہوگا کہ اللہ کی راہ میں بھوک پیاس اور جسمانی مشقت کی کوئی تکلیف وہ جھیلیں، اور منکرین حق کو جو راہ ناگوار ہے اُس پر کوئی قدم وہ اٹھائیں، اور کسی دشمن سے (عداوت حق کا) کا کوئی انتقام وہ لیں اور اس کے بدلے ان کے حق میں ایک عمل صالح نہ لکھا جائے یقیناً اللہ کے ہاں محسنوں کا حق الخدمت مارا نہیں جاتا ہے

مدینہ والوں اور ان کے گرد دیہات والوں کو لائق نہ تھا کہ رسول اللہ سے پیچھے بیٹھ رہیں اور نہ یہ کہ ان کی جان سے اپنی جان پیاری سمجھیں یہ اس لیے کہ انہیں جو پیاس یا تکلیف یا بھوک اللہ کی راہ میں پہنچتی ہے اور جہاں ایسی جگہ قدم رکھتے ہیں جس سے کافروں کو غیظ آئے اور جو کچھ کسی دشمن کا بگاڑتے ہیں اس سب کے بدلے ان کے لیے نیک عمل لکھا جاتا ہے بیشک اللہ نیکوں کا نیگ (اجر) ضائع نہیں کرتا،

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
