فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

But they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship, and We drowned those who denied Our tokens. Lo! they were blind folk. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But they denied him. So We delivered him and those who were with him in the ark, and We drowned those who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a blind lot. - Qarai, Ali Quli

پھر ان لوگوں نے نوح علیھ السّلامکی تکذیب کی تو ہم نے انہیں اور ان کے ساتھیوں کو کشتی میں نجات دے دی اور جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا تھا انہیں غرق کردیا کہ وہ سب بالکل اندھے لوگ تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

مگر انہوں نے اس کو جھٹلا دیا آخر کار ہم نے اسے اور اس کے ساتھیوں کو ایک کشتی میں نجات دی اور اُن لوگوں کو ڈبو دیا جنہوں نے ہماری آیات کو جھٹلایا تھا، یقیناً وہ اندھے لوگ تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو انہوں نے اسے جھٹلایا تو ہم نے اسے اور جو اس کے ساتھ کشتی میں تھے نجات دی اور اپنی آیتیں جھٹلانے والوں کو ڈبو دیا، بیشک وہ اندھا گروہ تھا - Ahmed Raza

وَإِلَىٰ
And to
عَادٍ
'Aad
أَخَاهُمْ
their brother
هُودًۭا
Hood (was sent).
ۗ
قَالَ
He said,
يَٰقَوْمِ
[O nation!
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
Be in servitude of
ٱللَّهَ
the One
مَا
— not
لَكُم
for you is
مِّنْ
from
إِلَٰهٍ
an unchallenged master
غَيْرُهُۥٓ
except Him.
ۚ
أَفَلَا
Then why do not
تَتَّقُونَ
you wake up?]
٧
٦٥
وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًۭا ۗ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ And to 'Aad their brother Hood (was sent). He said, [O nation! Be in servitude of the One — not for you is from an unchallenged master except Him. Then why do not you wake up?]

And unto (the tribe of) A'ad (We sent) their brother, Hud. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil)? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And to [the people of] [Ad [We sent] Hud, their brother. He said, [O my people, worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. Will you not then be wary [of Him]?] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
We sent Hud to his brethren, the tribe of `Ad, who told them, [Worship God for He is your only Lord. Will you not become pious?] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And to Ad (We sent) their brother Hud. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)? - Shakir, Habib

To the people of 'Ad We sent their brother, Hud. He said, [O my people, worship God, you have no other god but He. Then will you not be God-fearing?] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم نے قوم عاد علیھ السّلامکی طرف ان کے بھائی ہود کو بھیجا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اے قوم والو اللہ کی عبادت کرو اس کے علاوہ تمہارا دوسرا خدا نہیں ہے کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور عاد کی طرف ہم نے ان کے بھائی ہودؑ کو بھیجا اس نے کہا ——اے برادران قو م، اللہ کی بندگی کرو، اُس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی خدا نہیں ہے پھر کیا تم غلط روی سے پرہیز نہ کرو گے؟—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور عاد کی طرف ان کی برادری سے ہود کو بھیجا کہا اے میری قوم اللہ کی بندگی کرو اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں، تو کیا تمہیں ڈر نہیں - Ahmed Raza

Replied
ٱلْمَلَأُ
the religious clerics,
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
كَفَرُوا۟
were in denial
مِن
from
قَوْمِهِۦٓ
his nation,
إِنَّا
[Certainly we
لَنَرَىٰكَ
for sure see you
فِى
in
سَفَاهَةٍۢ
foolishness
وَإِنَّا
and certainly
لَنَظُنُّكَ
we see you to be
مِنَ
from
ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ
the liars,]
٧
٦٦
قَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِى سَفَاهَةٍۢ وَإِنَّا لَنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ Replied the religious clerics, the ones who were in denial from his nation, [Certainly we for sure see you in foolishness and certainly we see you to be from the liars,]

The chieftains of his people, who were disbelieving, said: Lo! we surely see thee in foolishness, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The elite of his people who were faithless said, [Indeed we see you to be in folly, and indeed we consider you to be a liar.] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
A group of the unbelievers among his people said, [You look to us like a fool and we think that you are a liar]. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
The chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: Most surely we see you in folly, and most surely we think you to be of the liars. - Shakir, Habib

The leading men of his people who refused to acknowledge the truth, said, [We can see you are a foolish man, and we think you are lying.] - Wahiduddin Khan

قوم میں سے کفر اختیار کرنے والے رؤسا نے کہا کہ ہم تم کو حماقت میں مبتلا دیکھ رہے ہیں اور ہمارے خیال میں تم جھوٹوں میں سے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اس کی قوم کے سرداروں نے، جو اس کی بات ماننے سے انکار کر رہے تھے، جواب میں کہا ——ہم تو تمہیں بے عقلی میں مبتلا سمجھتے ہیں اور ہمیں گمان ہے کہ تم جھوٹے ہو—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

قَالَ
He said,
يَٰقَوْمِ
[O nation!
لَيْسَ
Not
بِى
I am with
سَفَاهَةٌۭ
foolishness
وَلَٰكِنِّى
rather I am
رَسُولٌۭ
a messenger
مِّن
from
رَّبِّ
Rabb of
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
all the states of being.]
He said, [O nation! Not I am with foolishness rather I am a messenger from Rabb of all the states of being.]

He said: O my people! There is no foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [O my people, I am not in folly. Rather, I am an apostle from the Lord of all the worlds. - Qarai, Ali Quli

He replied, [My people, I am not a fool but a Messenger of the Lord of the Universe. - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: O my people! there is no folly in me, but I am an apostle of the Lord of the worlds. - Shakir, Habib

He said, [My people, I am by no means a fool, but rather am a messenger from the Lord of the Universe, - Wahiduddin Khan

انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ مجھ میں حماقت نہیں ہے بلکہ میں ربّ العالمین کی طرف سے فرستادہ رسول ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

trustworthy.]
[I am to broadcast to you messages of my Rabb and I am for you an advisor trustworthy.]

I convey unto you the messages of my Lord and am for you a true adviser. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

I communicate to you the messages of my Lord and I am a trustworthy well-wisher for you. - Qarai, Ali Quli

I preach the message of my Lord to you and am a trustworthy advisor for you. - Sarwar, Muhammad

I am conveying my Lord's messages to you and I am your sincere and honest adviser. - Wahiduddin Khan

جَآءَكُمْ

a reminder

رَّبِّكُمْ
your Rabb
عَلَىٰ
upon
رَجُلٍۢ
a man
مِّنكُمْ
from amongst you
لِيُنذِرَكُمْ
warning you?
ۚ
وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟
And remember
إِذْ
when
جَعَلَكُمْ
you were placed as
خُلَفَآءَ
successors
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
قَوْمِ
nation of
نُوحٍۢ
Nooh
وَزَادَكُمْ
and you were increased
فِى
in
ٱلْخَلْقِ
creation
بَصْۜطَةًۭ
widely;
ۖ
فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟
thus be in remembrance of
ءَالَآءَ
powers / authorities of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
لَعَلَّكُمْ
so that you may
تُفْلِحُونَ
be of the successful ones.]

٦٩
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَآءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍۢ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ ۚ وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍۢ وَزَادَكُمْ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ بَصْۜطَةًۭ ۖ فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ [Or do you find it strange that comes to you a reminder from your Rabb upon a man from amongst you warning you? And remember when you were placed as successors from after nation of Nooh and you were increased in creation widely; thus be in remembrance of powers / authorities of the One so that you may be of the successful ones.]

Marvel ye that there should come unto you a Reminder from your Lord by means of a man among you, that he may warn you? Remember how He made you viceroys after Noah's folk, and gave you growth of stature. Remember (all) the bounties of your Lord, that haply ye may be successful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Do you consider it odd that there should come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among yourselves, so that he may warn you? Remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah, and increased you vastly in creation. So remember Allah]s bounties so that you may be felicitous.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Does it seem strange to you that a reminder from your Lord should be sent to a man among you so that He may warn you? Recall when God appointed you as successors of the people of Noah and increased your power over other people. Give thanks to God for His blessings so that perhaps you will have everlasting happiness.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

What! do you wonder that a reminder has come to you from your Lord through a man from among you that he might warn you? And remember when He made you successors after Nuh's people and increased you in excellence in respect of make; therefore remember the benefits of Allah, that you may be successful. - Shakir, Habib

Do you find it strange that a Message should come from your Lord, through one of your own men, to warn you? Remember how He made you successors of Noah's people, and increased you greatly in stature. Remember the favours of God, so that you may prosper.] - Wahiduddin Khan

کیا تم لوگوں کو اس بات پر تعجب ہے کہ تم تک ذکر خدا تمہارے ہی کسی آدمی کے ذریعہ آجائے تاکہ وہ تمہیں ڈرائے اور یاد کرو کہ تم کو اس نے قوم نوح علیھ السّلامکے بعد زمین میں جانشین بنایا ہے اور مخلوقات میں وسعت عطا کی ہے لہذا تم اللہ کی نعمتوں کو یاد کرو کہ شاید اسی طرح فلاح اور نجات پاجاؤ - Jawadi, Zeeshan

کیا تمہیں اس بات پر تعجب ہوا کہ تمہارے پاس خود تمہاری اپنی قوم کے ایک آدمی کے ذریعہ سے تمہارے رب کی یاد دہانی آئی تاکہ وہ تمھیں خبردار کرے؟ بھول نہ جاؤ کہ تمہارے رب نے نوحؑ کی قوم کے بعد تم کو اُس کا جانشین بنایا اور تمہیں خوب تنو مند کیا، پس اللہ کی قدرت کے کرشموں کو یاد رکھو، امید ہے کہ فلاح پاؤ گے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور کیا تمہیں اس کا اچنبا ہوا کہ تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی طرف سے ایک نصیحت آئی تم میں سے ایک مرد کی معرفت کہ وہ تمہیں ڈرائے اور یاد کرو جب اس نے تمہیں قوم نوح کا جانشین کیا اور تمہارے بدن کا پھیلاؤ بڑھایا تو اللہ کی نعمتیں یاد کرو کہ کہیں تمہارا بھلا ہو، - Ahmed Raza

کیا تمہیں اس بات پر تعجب ہے کہ تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے تمہاری اپنی قوم کے ایک شخص کے پاس وعظ و نصیحت کا پیغام آیا ہے تاکہ وہ تمہیں (خدا کے عذاب سے) ڈرائے اور یاد کرو (خدا کے اس احسان کو) کہ اس نے تمہیں قومِ نوح کے بعد ان کا جانشین بنایا۔ اور (تمہاری) خلقت میں یعنی قوت و طاقت اور قد و قامت میں زیادتی اور وسعت عطا کی پس اللہ کی نعمتوں کو یاد کرو تاکہ تم (ہر طرح) فلاح پاؤ۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

أَجِئْتَنَا
[Do you come to us
لِنَعْبُدَ
for making us slaves of
ٱللَّهَ
the One
وَحْدَهُۥ
singularly,
وَنَذَرَ
and to make us renounce
مَا
what
كَانَ

يَعْبُدُ
slaves to
ءَابَآؤُنَا
our forefathers?

فَأْتِنَا
Then come to us

you promise us,

the truthful people.]

قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا لِنَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ وَحْدَهُۥ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا ۖ فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ They said, [Do you come to us for making us slaves of the One singularly, and to make us renounce what have been slaves to our forefathers? Then come to us with what you promise us, if you are of the truthful people.]

They said: Hast come unto us that we should serve Allah alone, and forsake what our fathers worshipped? Then bring upon us that wherewith thou threatenest us if thou art of the truthful! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They said, [Have you come to [tell] us that we should worship Allah alone and abandon what our fathers have been worshiping? Then bring us what you threaten us with, should you be truthful.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

ان لوگوں نے کہا کہ کیا آپ یہ پیغام لائے ہیں کہ ہم صرف ایک خدا کی عبادت کریں اور جن کی ہمارے آباؤ و اجداد عبادت کرتے تھے ان سب کو چھوڑ دیں تو آپ اپنے وعدہ و عید کو لے کر آئیے اگر اپنی بات میں سچے ّہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

انہوں نے جواب دیا ——کیا تو ہمارے پاس اس لیے آیا ہے کہ ہم اکیلے اللہ ہی کی عبادت کریں اور اُنہیں چھوڑ دیں جن کی عبادت ہمارے باپ دادا کرتے آئے ہیں؟ اچھا تو لے آ وہ عذاب جس کی تو ہمیں دھمکی دیتا ہے اگر تو سچا ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

He said: Terror and wrath from your Lord have already fallen on you. Would ye wrangle with me over names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which no warrant from Allah hath been revealed? Then await (the consequence), lo! I (also) am of those awaiting (it). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [Punishment and wrath from your Lord has become due against you. Do you dispute with me regarding names, which you have named—you and your fathers—for which Allah has not sent down any authority? So wait! I too am waiting along with you.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

He replied, [You will certainly be afflicted by wickedness and the wrath of God. Do you dispute with me about the names of that which you and your fathers have invented? God has given no authority to those names. Wait for God's decree and I, too, am waiting with you.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: Indeed uncleanness and wrath from your Lord have lighted upon you; what! do you dispute with me about names which you and your fathers have given? Allah has not sent any authority for them; wait then, I too with you will be of those who wait. - Shakir, Habib

انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ تمہارے اوپر پروردگا رکی طرف سے عذاب اور غضب طے ہوچکا ہے -کیا تم مجھ سے ان ناموں کے بارے میں جھگڑا کرتے ہو جو تم نے اور تمہارے بزرگوں نے خود طے کرلئے ہیں اور خدا نے ان کے بارے میں کوئی برہان نازل نہیں کیا ہے تو اب تم عذاب کا انتظار کرو میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انتظار کرنے والوں میں ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اس نے کہا ——تمہارے رب کی پھٹکار تم پر پڑ گئی اور اس کا غضب ٹوٹ پڑا کیا تم مجھ سے اُن ناموں پر جھگڑتے ہو جو تم نے اور تمہارے باپ دادا نے رکھ لیے ہیں، جن کے لیے اللہ نے کوئی سند نازل نہیں کی ہے اچھا تو تم بھی انتظار کرو اور میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ انتظار کرتا ہوں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And We saved him and those with him by a mercy from Us, and We cut the root of those who denied Our revelations and were not believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then We delivered him and those who were with him by a mercy from Us, and We rooted out those who denied Our signs and were not faithful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Through Our mercy, We saved him and his companions and destroyed the unbelievers who called Our revelations mere lies. - Sarwar, Muhammad

So We delivered him and those with him by mercy from Us, and We cut off the last of those who rejected Our communications and were not believers. - Shakir, Habib

وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَٰلِحًۭا ۗ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم بَيِّنَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةُ ٱللَّهِ لَكُمْ ءَايَةًۭ ۖ فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِىٓ أَرْضِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍۢ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And to (the tribe of) Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. A wonder from your Lord hath come unto you. Lo! this is the camel of Allah, a token unto you; so let her feed in Allah's earth, and touch her not with hurt lest painful torment seize you. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And to [the people of] Thamud [We sent] Salih, their brother. He said, [O my people, worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. There has certainly come to you a manifest proof from your Lord. This she-camel of Allah is a sign for you. Let her alone to graze [freely] in Allah]s land, and do not cause her any harm, for then you shall be seized by a painful punishment. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We sent Salih to his brethren, the tribe of Thamud, who told them, [Worship God your only Lord. Authoritative evidence has come to you from your Lord and this she-camel is the evidence for you from God. Let her graze in the land of God. Do not give her any trouble lest a painful torment will strike you. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And to Samood (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; clear proof indeed has come to you from your Lord; this is (as) Allah's she-camel for you-- a sign, therefore leave her alone to pasture on Allah's earth, and do not touch her with any harm, otherwise painful chastisement will overtake you. - Shakir, Habib

To the Thamud We sent their brother Salih. He said, [O my people, worship God; you have no other god but Him. A veritable proof has come to you from your Lord: this is God's she-camel, a sign for you, so let her feed in God's land and do not harm her in any way, or you will be overwhelmed by a painful punishment. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم نے قوم ثمود علیھ السّلام کی طرف ان کے بھائی صالح علیھ السّلامکو بھیجا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اے قوم والو اللہ کی عبادت کرو کہ اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے -تمہارے پاس پروردگار کی طرف سے دلیل آچکی ہے -یہ خدائی ناقہ ہے جو تمہارے لئے اس کی نشانی ہے -اسے آزاد چھوڑ دو کہ زمینِ خدا میں کھاتا پھرے اور خبردار اسے کوئی تکلیف نہ پہنچانا کہ تم کو عذاب الیم اپنی گرفت میں لے لے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور ثمود کی طرف ہم نے اُن کے بھائی صالحؑ کو بھیجا اس نے کہا ——اے برادران قوم، اللہ کی بندگی کرو، اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی خدا نہیں ہے تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی کھلی دلیل آ گئی ہے یہ اللہ کی اونٹنی تمہارے لیے ایک نشانی کے طور پر ہے، لہٰذا اسے چھوڑ دو کہ خدا کی زمین میں چرتی پھرے اس کو کسی برے ارادے سے ہاتھ نہ لگانا ورنہ ایک درد ناک عذاب تمہیں آ لے گا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ثمود کی طرف ان کی برادری سے صالح کو بھیجا کہا اے میری قوم اللہ کو پوجو اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں، بیشک تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی طرف سے روشن دلیل آئی یہ اللہ کا ناقہ ہے تمہارے لیے نشانی، تو اسے چھوڑ دو کہ اللہ کی زمین میں کھائے اور اسے برائی سے ہاتھ نہ لگاؤ کہ تمہیں درد ناک عذاب آئے گا، - Ahmed Raza

اور قومِ ثمود کی طرف ان کے (قومی) بھائی صالح کو بھیجا۔ انہوں نے کہا اے میری قوم! اللہ ہی کی عبادت کرو اس کے سوا تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے (میری صداقت کا) ایک خاص معجزہ آچکا ہے جو یہ اللہ کی خاص اونٹنی ہے جو تمہارے لئے ایک (قدرتی) نشانی (معجزہ) ہے اسے کھلا چھوڑ دو کہ خدا کی زمین میں چَرتی پھرے۔ اور (خبردار) اسے برے ارادے سے ہاتھ نہ لگانا (اسے تکلیف نہ پہنچانا) ورنہ دردناک عذاب تمہیں اپنی گرفت میں لے لے گا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
