Or lest ye should say: If the Scripture had been revealed unto us, we surely had been better guided than are they. Now hath there come unto you a clear proof from your Lord, a guidance and mercy; and who doeth greater wrong than he who denieth the revelations of Allah, and turneth away from them? We award unto those who turn away from Our revelations an evil doom because of their aversion. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

or [lest] you should say, [If the Book had been sent down to us, surely we would have been better-guided than them.] There has already come to you a manifest proof from your Lord and a guidance and mercy. So who is a greater wrongdoer than him who denies the signs of Allah, and turns away from them? Soon We shall requite those who turn away from Our signs with a terrible punishment because of what they used to evade. - Qarai, Ali Quli

or proclaim, [Had the Book been revealed to us, we would have followed its guidance better than the (Jews and Christians). Evidence, guidance, and mercy have already come to you from your Lord. Who are more unjust than those who reject God's revelations and turn away from them? We will give an evil recompense to those who turn away from Our revelations and a terrible torment for their disregard (of Our guidance) - Sarwar, Muhammad

Or lest you should say: If the Book had been revealed to us, we would certainly have been better guided than they, so indeed there has come to you clear proof from your Lord, and guidance and mercy. Who then is more unjust than he who rejects Allah's communications and turns away from them? یا یہ کہو کہ ہمارے اوپر بھی کتاب نازل ہوتی تو ہم ان سے زیادہ ہدایت یافتہ ہوتے تو اب تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے واضح دلیل اور ہدایت و رحمت آچکی ہے پھر اس کے بعد اس سے بڑا ظالم کون ہوگا جو اللہ کی نشانیوں کو جھٹلائے اور ان سے اعراض کرے ...عنقریب ہم اپنی نشانیوں سے اعراض کرنے والوں پر بدترین عذاب کریں گے اور وہ ہماری آیتوں سے اعراض کرنے والے اور روکنے والے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اب تم یہ بہانہ بھی نہیں کرسکتے کہ اگر ہم پر کتاب نازل کی گئی ہوتی تو ہم ان سے زیادہ راست رو ثابت ہوتے تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی طرف سے ایک دلیل روشن اور ہدایت اور رحمت آ گئی ہے، اب اس سے بڑھ کر ظالم کون ہوگا جو اللہ کی آیات کو جھٹلائے اور ان سے منہ موڑے جو لوگ ہماری آیات سے منہ موڑتے ہیں انہیں اس رو گردانی کی پاداش میں ہم بدترین سزا دے کر رہیں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

یا کہو کہ اگر ہم پر کتاب اُترتی تو ہم ان سے زیادہ ٹھیک راہ پر ہوتے تو تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی روشن دلیل اور ہدایت او ر رحمت آئی تو اس سے زیادہ ظالم کون جو اللہ کی آیتوں کو جھٹلائے اور ان سے منہ پھیرے عنقریب وہ جو ہماری آیتوں سے منہ پھیرتے ہیں ہم انہیں بڑے عذاب کی سزا دیں گے بدلہ ان کے منہ پھیرنے کا، - Ahmed Raza

یا یہ (نہ) کہو کہ اگر ہم پر کتاب نازل کی گئی ہوتی تو ہم ان لوگوں سے زیادہ راہِ راست پر ہوتے۔ تو اب (تمہارے تمام عذر بہانے قطع کرنے کے لیے) تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے کھلی ہوئی دلیل اور ہدایت و رحمت (قرآن کی صورت میں) آگئی ہے سو اب اس سے بڑھ کر ظالم کون ہوگا جو آیاتِ الٰہی کو جھٹلائے اور ان سے روگردانی کرے۔ ہم عنقریب ان لوگوں کو جو ہماری آیات سے روگردانی کرتے ہیں۔ بڑے عذاب کی سزا دیں گے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Wait they, indeed, for nothing less than that the angels should come unto them, or thy Lord should come, or there should come one of the portents from thy Lord? In the day when one of the portents from thy Lord cometh, its belief availeth naught a soul which theretofore believed not, nor in its belief earned good (by works). Say: Wait ye! Lo! Do they not consider that the angels may come to them, or your Lord may come, or some of your Lord]s signs may come? The day when some of your Lord]s signs do come, faith shall not benefit any soul that had not believed beforehand and had not earned some goodness in its faith. Say, [Wait! Are they waiting until the angels or your Lord come to them or for some miracles to take place? On the day when some miracles of God will take place, the belief of any soul will be of no avail to it unless some good deeds have been done with it, or it has been formed before the coming of such a day. They do not wait aught but that the angels should come to them, or that your Lord should come, or that some of the signs of your Lord should come. On the day when some of the signs of your Lord shall come, its faith shall not profit a soul which did not believe before, or earn good through its faith. کیا اب لوگ اس کے منتظر ہیں کہ ان کے سامنے فرشتے آ کھڑے ہوں، یا تمہارا رب خود آ جائے، یا تمہارے رب کی بعض صریح نشانیاں نمودار ہو جائیں؟ جس روز تمہارے رب کی بعض مخصوص نشانیاں نمودار ہو جائیں گی پھر کسی ایسے شخص کو اس کا ایمان کچھ فائدہ نہ دے گا جو پہلے ایمان نہ لایا ہو یا جس نے اپنے ایمان میں کوئی بھلائی نہ کمائی ہو اے محمدؐ! ان سے کہہ دو کہ اچھا، تم انتظار کرو، ہم بھی انتظار کرتے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
فَرَّقُوا۟
created sects in
دِينَهُمْ
their deen,
وَكَانُوا۟
and were
شِيَعًۭا
in sectarian groups,
لَّسْتَ
not you are
مِنْهُمْ
of them
فِى
in
شَىْءٍ
anything.
ۚ
إِنَّمَآ
Indeed it is that
أَمْرُهُمْ
their affairs are
إِلَى
towards
ٱللَّهِ
the One,
ثُمَّ
then
يُنَبِّئُهُم
they will be informed
بِمَا
with what
كَانُوا۟
they have been
يَفْعَلُونَ
performing.

١٥٩
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا۟ شِيَعًۭا لَّسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِى شَىْءٍ ۚ إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ Indeed the ones who created sects in their deen, and were in sectarian groups, not you are of them in anything. Indeed it is that their affairs are towards the One, then they will be informed with what they have been performing.

Lo! As for those who sunder their religion and become schismatics, no concern at all hast thou with them. Their case will go to Allah, Who then will tell them what they used to do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed those who split up their religion and became sects, you will not have anything to do with them. Their matter rests only with Allah; then He will inform them concerning what they used to do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Some of those who have divided their religion into different sects are not your concern. Their affairs are in the hands of God Who will show them all that they have done. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Whoso bringeth a good deed will receive tenfold the like thereof, while whoso bringeth an ill-deed will be awarded but the like thereof; and they will not be wronged. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

stable and leads to the destination,
دِينًۭا
a governance system
قِيَمًۭا
that is firmly stable,
مِّلَّةَ
creed of
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Ibrahim
حَنِيفًۭا
as secular (obedient to only One authority),
ۚ
وَمَا
and not
كَانَ
he had been
مِنَ
from
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
the ones who add partners.]

قُلْ إِنَّنِى هَدَىٰنِى رَبِّىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ دِينًۭا قِيَمًۭا مِّلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًۭا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ Say, [Certainly I am guided by my Rabb towards path that is stable and leads to the destination, a governance system that is firmly stable, creed of Ibrahim as secular (obedient to only One authority), and not he had been from the ones who add partners.]

Say: Lo! As for me, my Lord hath guided me unto a straight path, a right religion, the community of Abraham, the upright, who was no idolater. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

On earth, We have made each of your generations the successors of their predecessors; We have made some of you do good deeds of a higher degree than others.
