To hunt and to eat the fish of the sea is made lawful for you, a provision for you and for seafarers; but to hunt on land is forbidden you so long as ye are on the pilgrimage. Be mindful of your duty to Allah, unto Whom ye will be gathered.

Allah hath appointed the Ka'bah, the Sacred House, a standard for mankind, and the Sacred Month and the offerings and the garlands. That is so that ye may know that Allah knoweth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and that Allah is Knower of all things.

ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
Know that the One is severe of the chase, and that the One is forgiving, merciful.

Know that Allah is severe in punishment, but that Allah (also) is Forgiving, Merciful.

Not upon the messenger is except the broadcast; and the One knows what you reveal and what you hide.

The duty of the messenger is only to convey (the message). Allah knoweth what ye proclaim and what ye hide.

كَثْرَةُ
plenty
ٱلْخَبِيثِ
the putrid;
ۚ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟
then be aware of
ٱللَّهَ
the One,
يَٰٓأُو۟لِى
o you of
ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ
the intellectual people,
لَعَلَّكُمْ
that perhaps you
تُفْلِحُونَ
be successful.]

١٠٠
قُل لَّا يَسْتَوِى ٱلْخَبِيثُ وَٱلطَّيِّبُ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ كَثْرَةُ ٱلْخَبِيثِ ۚ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ يَٰٓأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
Say, [Not are equal the putrid and the pure, even if amazes you plenty the putrid; then be aware of the One, o you of the intellectual people, that perhaps you be successful.]

Say: The evil and the good are not alike even though the plenty of the evil attract thee. So be mindful of your duty to Allah, O men of understanding, that ye may succeed.

Say, [The good and the bad are not equal, though the abundance of the bad should amaze you.] So be wary of Allah, O you who possess intellect, so that you may be felicitous!

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ عَنْ أَشْيَآءَ إِن تُبْدَ لَكُمْ تَسُؤْكُمْ وَإِن تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ عَنْهَا حِينَ يُنَزَّلُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنْهَا ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌۭ

O ye who believe! Ask not of things which, if they were made unto you, would trouble you; but if ye ask of them when the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be made known unto you. Allah pardoneth this, for Allah is Forgiving, Clement.

Allah hath not appointed anything in the nature of a Bahirah or a Sa'ibah or a Wasilah or a Hami, but those who disbelieve invent a lie against Allah. Most of them have no sense.

Allah has not prescribed any such thing as Bahirah, Sa]ibah, Waseelah, or Haam; but those who are faithless fabricate lies against Allah, and most of them do not exercise their reason.

ٱلرَّسُولِ
the messenger],
قَالُوا۟
they said,
حَسْبُنَا
[We pursue
مَا

وَجَدْنَا
we found
عَلَيْهِ
upon it
ءَابَآءَنَآ
our elders.]
ۚ
أَوَلَوْ
Even if
كَانَ
had been
ءَابَآؤُهُمْ
their forefathers
لَا
not
يَعْلَمُونَ
of knowing
شَيْـًۭٔا
a thing,
وَلَا
and not
يَهْتَدُونَ
they were guided?
٥
١٠٤
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ قَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ
And whenever was said to them, [Come up here towards what had descended the One, and towards the messenger], they said, [We pursue what we found upon it our elders.] Even if had been their forefathers not of knowing a thing, and not they were guided?

And when it is said unto them: Come unto that which Allah hath revealed and unto the messenger, they say: Enough for us is that wherein we found our fathers. What! Even though their fathers had no knowledge whatsoever, and no guidance?

When they are told, [Come to what Allah has sent down and [come] to the Apostle,] they say, [Sufficient for us is what we have found our fathers following.] What, even if their fathers did not know anything and were not guided?!

اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ آؤ اُس قانون کی طرف جو اللہ نے نازل کیا ہے اور آؤ پیغمبرؐ کی طرف تو وہ جواب دیتے ہیں کہ ہمارے لیے تو بس وہی طریقہ کافی ہے جس پر ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو پایا ہے کیا یہ باپ دادا ہی کی تقلید کیے چلے جائیں گے خواہ وہ کچھ نہ جانتے ہوں اور صحیح راستہ کی انہیں خبر ہی نہ ہو؟

can harm you

ضَلَّ
has astrayed

when
ٱهْتَدَيْتُمْ
you are guided;
ۚ
إِلَى
towards
ٱللَّهِ
the One
مَرْجِعُكُمْ
you will return
جَمِيعًۭا
collectively
فَيُنَبِّئُكُم
then He will inform you all
بِمَا
with what
كُنتُمْ
you were
تَعْمَلُونَ
doing.
٥
١٠٥
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ ۖ لَا يَضُرُّكُم مَّن ضَلَّ إِذَا ٱهْتَدَيْتُمْ ۚ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًۭا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
O you of the ones of trust! Upon yourself is your ownself (you are responsible for yourself); not can harm you who has astrayed when you are guided; towards the One you will return collectively then He will inform you all with what you were doing.

O ye who believe! Ye have charge of your own souls. He who erreth cannot injure you if ye are rightly guided. Unto Allah ye will all return; and then He will inform you of what ye used to do.

O you who have faith! Take care of your own souls. He who strays cannot hurt you if you are guided. To Allah will be the return of you all, whereat He will inform you concerning what you used to do.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ شَهَٰدَةُ بَيْنِكُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ حِينَ ٱلْوَصِيَّةِ ٱثْنَانِ ذَوَا عَدْلٍۢ مِّنكُمْ أَوْ ءَاخَرَانِ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ إِنْ أَنتُمْ ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَأَصَٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۚ تَحْبِسُونَهُمَا مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِٱللَّهِ إِنِ ٱرْتَبْتُمْ لَا نَشْتَرِى بِهِۦ ثَمَنًۭا وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰ ۙ وَلَا نَكْتُمُ شَهَٰدَةَ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّآ إِذًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْـَٔاثِمِينَ

O ye who believe! Let there be witnesses between you when death draweth nigh unto one of you, at the time of bequest - two witnesses, just men from among you, or two others from another tribe, in case ye are campaigning in the land and the calamity of death befall you. Ye shall empanel them both after the prayer, and, if ye doubt, they shall be made to swear by Allah (saying): We will not take a bribe, even though it were (on behalf of) a near kinsman nor will we hide the testimony of Allah, for then indeed we should be of the sinful.

Believers, when death approaches any one of you, let two just men from your own people (Muslims) or any two other men (People of the Book) if death befalls you on a journey, bear witness to the bequest. If you have any doubts as to their honesty, detain them and let them take an oath after the prayer, each one of them saying, [I swear by God that my testimony is true. I am not selling the Truth for a paltry price even though the beneficiary would be one of my relatives. I do not hide the testimony which is the right of God, for then I would be one of the sinners.]

اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، جب تم میں سے کسی کی موت کا وقت آ جائے اور وہ وصیت کر رہا ہو تو اس کے لیے شہادت کا نصاب یہ ہے کہ تمہاری جماعت میں سے دو صاحب عدل آدمی گواہ بنائے جائیں، یا اگر تم سفر کی حالت میں ہو اور وہاں موت کی مصیبت پیش آ جائے تو غیر مسلموں ہی میں سے دو گواہ لے لیے جائں پھر اگر کوئی شک پڑ جائے تو نماز کے بعد دونوں گواہوں کو (مسجد میں) روک لیا جائے اور وہ خدا کی قسم کھا کر کہیں کہ ——ہم کسی ذاتی فائدے کے عوض شہادت بیچنے والے نہیں ہیں، اور خواہ کوئی ہمارا رشتہ دار ہی کیوں نہ ہو (ہم اس کی رعایت کرنے والے نہیں) اور نہ خدا واسطے کی گواہی کو ہم چھپانے والے ہیں، اگر ہم نے یسا کیا تو گناہ گاروں میں شمار ہوں گے——

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
