وَمَا
[And what is
لَنَا
for us to
لَا
not
نُؤْمِنُ
have conviction
بِٱللَّهِ
regarding the One
وَمَا
and what
جَآءَنَا
came to us
مِنَ
of
ٱلْحَقِّ
the fact?
وَنَطْمَعُ
And we desire
أَن
that
يُدْخِلَنَا
enters us
رَبُّنَا
our Rabb
مَعَ
with
ٱلْقَوْمِ
the nation of
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
the constructive-workers.]
٥
٨٤
وَمَا لَنَا لَا نُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَا جَآءَنَا مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَنَطْمَعُ أَن يُدْخِلَنَا رَبُّنَا مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ [And what is for us to not have conviction regarding the One and what came to us of the fact? And we desire that enters us our Rabb with the nation of the constructive-workers.]

How should we not believe in Allah and that which hath come unto us of the Truth. And (how should we not) hope that our Lord will bring us in along with righteous folk? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And what (reason) have we that we should not believe in Allah and in the truth that has come to us, while we earnestly desire that our Lord should cause us to enter with the good people? - Shakir, Habib

بھلا ہم اللہ اور اپنے پاس آنے والے حق پر کس طرح ایمان نہ لائیں گے جب کہ ہماری خواہش ہے کہ پروردگار ہمیں نیک کردار بندوں میں شامل کرلے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ——آخر کیوں نہ ہم اللہ پر ایمان لائیں اور جو حق ہمارے پاس آیا ہے اُسے کیوں نہ مان لیں جبکہ ہم اِس بات کی خواہش رکھتے ہیں کہ ہمارا رب ہمیں صالح لوگوں میں شامل کرے؟—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ہمیں کیا ہوا کہ ہم ایمان نہ لائیں اللہ پر اور اس حق پر کہ ہمارے پاس آیا اور ہم طمع کرتے ہیں کہ ہمیں ہمارا رب نیک لوگوں کے ساتھ داخل کرے - Ahmed Raza

اور ہمیں کیا ہے کہ ہم اللہ پر اور اس حق پر جو ہمیں پہنچا ہے ایمان نہ لائیں حالانکہ ہم خواہش رکھتے ہیں کہ ہمارا پروردگار ہمیں (اپنے) نیک بندوں میں شامل کرے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

فَأَثَٰبَهُمُ
Thus rewarded them
ٱللَّهُ
the One
بِمَا
due to what
قَالُوا۟
they said
جَنَّٰتٍۢ
with gardens,
تَجْرِى
flowing
مِن
from
تَحْتِهَا
under them are
ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ
rivers,
خَٰلِدِينَ
eternalized
فِيهَا
therein;
ۚ
وَذَٰلِكَ
and that is
جَزَآءُ
reward of
ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
the good-doers.
٥
٨٥
فَأَثَٰبَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا قَالُوا۟ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ Thus rewarded them the One due to what they said with gardens, flowing from under them are rivers, eternalized therein; and that is reward of the good-doers.

Allah hath rewarded them for that their saying - Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever. That is the reward of the good. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So, for what they said, Allah requited them with gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them [forever], and that is the reward of the virtuous. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Thus, God has given them as their reward, gardens wherein streams flow and wherein they will live forever. Such will be the recompense of the righteous people. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Therefore Allah rewarded them on account of what they said, with gardens in which rivers flow to abide in them; and this is the reward of those who do good (to others). - Shakir, Habib

And for their words God will reward them with Gardens through which rivers flow, wherein they shall abide forever. That is the reward of those who do good. - Wahiduddin Khan

تو اس قول کی بنا پر پروردگار نے انہیں وہ باغات دے دئیے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں اور وہ انہی میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں کہ یہی نیک کردار لوگوں کی جزا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اُن کے اِس قول کی وجہ سے اللہ نے اُن کو ایسی جنتیں عطا کیں جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہیں اور وہ ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے یہ جزا ہے نیک رویہ اختیار کرنے والوں کے لیے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو اللہ نے ان کے اس کہنے کے بدلے انہیں باغ دیے جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں ہمیشہ ان میں رہیں گے، یہ بدلہ ہے نیکوں کا - Ahmed Raza

اللہ نے ان کو ان کے اس قول کے صلہ میں ایسے بہشت عطا فرمائے جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہیں جن میں وہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے اور یہ نیکوکاروں کا معاوضہ ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَٱلَّذِينَ
And the ones who
كَفَرُوا۟
are in denial,
وَكَذَّبُوا۟
and lie
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ
about Our signs,
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
those are
أَصْحَٰبُ
people of
ٱلْجَحِيمِ
the stagnant state of being.
And the ones who are in denial, and lie about Our signs, those are people of the stagnant state of being.
⦿
But those who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, they are owners of hell-fire. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
But those who are faithless and deny Our signs—they shall be the inmates of hell. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Those who disbelieved and denied Our revelations will be the dwellers of Hell. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, these are the companions of the flame. - Shakir, Habib

But those who deny the truth and deny Our signs will become the inmates of Hell. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کرلیا اور ہماری آیات کو جھٹلا دیا تو وہ لوگ جہنّمی ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you of
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ءَامَنُوا۟
have conviction!
لَا
Do not
تُحَرِّمُوا۟
forbid
طَيِّبَٰتِ
good things
مَآ
which
أَحَلَّ
have been allowed by
ٱللَّهُ
the One
لَكُمْ
for you,
وَلَا
and do not
تَعْتَدُوٓا۟
be aggressive,
ۚ
إِنَّ
surely
ٱللَّهَ
the One
لَا
not
يُحِبُّ
loves
ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ
the aggressors.
٥
٨٧
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُحَرِّمُوا۟ طَيِّبَٰتِ مَآ أَحَلَّ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَعْتَدُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ O you of the ones who have conviction! Do not forbid good things which have been allowed by the One for you, and do not be aggressive, surely the One not loves the aggressors.

O ye who believe! Forbid not the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you, and transgress not, Lo! Allah loveth not transgressors. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O you who have faith! Do not prohibit the good things that Allah has made lawful to you, and do not transgress. Indeed Allah does not like the transgressors. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Believers, do not make unlawful the pure things which God has made lawful for you. Do not transgress for God does not love the transgressors. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
O you who believe! do not forbid (yourselves) the good things which Allah has made lawful for you and do not exceed the limits; surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits. - Shakir, Habib

Believers, do not forbid the wholesome good things, which God made lawful to you. Do not transgress; God does not love the transgressors. - Wahiduddin Khan

ایمان والو جن چیزوں کو خدا نے تمہارے لئے حلال کیا ہے انہیں حرام نہ بناؤ اور حد سے تجاوز نہ کرو کہ خدا تجاوز کرنے والوں کو دوست نہیں رکھتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، جو پاک چیزیں اللہ نے تمہارے لیے حلال کی ہیں انہیں حرام نہ کر لو اور حد سے تجاوز نہ کرو، اللہ کو زیادتی کرنے والے سخت ناپسند ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اے ایمان والو! حرام نہ ٹھہراؤ وہ ستھری چیزیں کہ اللہ نے تمہارے لیے حلال کیں اور حد سے نہ بڑھو، بیشک حد سے بڑھنے والے اللہ کو ناپسند ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

وَكُلُوا۟
And consume
مِمَّا
from what
رَزَقَكُمُ
provides to you
ٱللَّهُ
the One
حَلَٰلًۭا
openly
طَيِّبًۭا
whatever is good;
ۚ
وَٱتَّقُوا۟
and be aware of
ٱللَّهَ
the One,
ٱلَّذِىٓ
the Entity
أَنتُم
you are
بِهِۦ
about Whom
مُؤْمِنُونَ
of conviction.
٥
٨٨
وَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ حَلَٰلًۭا طَيِّبًۭا ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنتُم بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنُونَ And consume from what provides to you the One openly whatever is good; and be aware of the One, the Entity you are about Whom of conviction.
⦿
Eat of that which Allah hath bestowed on you as food lawful and good, and keep your duty to Allah in Whom ye are believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Eat the lawful and good things Allah has provided you, and be wary of Allah in whom you have faith. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Eat from the pure and lawful things that God has given to you. Have fear of God in Whom you believe. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And eat of the lawful and good (things) that Allah has given you, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, in Whom you believe. - Shakir, Habib

Eat the lawful and wholesome things, which God has given you. Fear God, in whom you believe. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جو اس نے رزق حلال و پاکیزہ دیا ہے اس کو کھاؤ اور اس خدا سے ڈرتے رہو جس پر ایمان رکھنے والے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جو کچھ حلال و طیب رزق اللہ نے تم کو دیا ہے اُسے کھا ؤ پیو اور اُس خدا کی نافرمانی سے بچتے رہو جس پر تم ایمان لائے ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور کھاؤ جو کچھ تمہیں اللہ نے روزی دی حلال پاکیزہ او ر ڈرو اللہ سے جس پر تمہیں ایمان ہے، - Ahmed Raza

اور اللہ نے تمہیں جو حلال اور پاکیزہ چیزیں عطا کی ہیں ان میں سے کھاؤ۔ اور اسی اللہ سے ڈرو (اس کی نافرمانی سے بچو) جس پر تم ایمان رکھتے ہو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

لَكُمْ

لَعَلَّكُمْ

تَشْكُرُونَ

٨٩
لَا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِٱللَّغْوِ فِىٓ أَيْمَٰنِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَاخِذُكُم بِمَا عَقَّدتُّمُ ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ ۖ فَكَفَّٰرَتُهُۥٓ إِطْعَامُ عَشَرَةِ مَسَٰكِينَ مِنْ أَوْسَطِ مَا تُطْعِمُونَ أَهْلِيكُمْ أَوْ كِسْوَتُهُمْ أَوْ تَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍۢ ۖ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍۢ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ كَفَّٰرَةُ أَيْمَٰنِكُمْ إِذَا حَلَفْتُمْ ۚ وَٱحْفَظُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Allah will not take you to task for that which is unintentional in your oaths, but He will take you to task for the oaths which ye swear in earnest. The expiation thereof is the feeding of ten of the needy with the average of that wherewith ye feed your own folk, or the clothing of them, or the liberation of a slave, and for him who findeth not (the wherewithal to do so) then a three days' fast. This is the expiation of your oaths when ye have sworn; and keep your oaths. Thus Allah expoundeth unto you His revelations in order that ye may give thanks. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Allah shall not take you to task for what is frivolous in your oaths; but He shall take you to task for what you pledge in earnest. The atonement for it is to feed ten needy persons with the average food you give to your families, or their clothing, or the freeing of a slave. He who cannot afford [any of these] shall fast for three days. That is the atonement for your oaths when you vow. But keep your oaths. Thus does Allah clarify His signs for you so that you may give thanks. - Qarai, Ali Quli

God will not hold you responsible for your thoughtless oaths. However, He will question you about your deliberate oaths. The expiation for breaking an oath is to feed ten needy people with food, typical of that which you feed to your own people, to clothe them or to set a slave free. One who cannot pay this, he must fast for three days to expiate his oaths. Keep your oaths. Thus, does God explain His Laws so that you will give Him thanks. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Allah does not call you to account for what is vain in your oaths, but He calls you to account for the making of deliberate oaths; so its expiation is the feeding of ten poor men out of the middling (food) you feed your families with, or their clothing, or the freeing of a neck; but whosoever cannot find (means) then fasting for three days; this is the expiation of your oaths when you swear; and guard your oaths. Thus does Allah make clear to you His communications, that you may be Fateful. - Shakir, Habib

God will not call you to account for your meaningless oaths, but He will call you to account for the oaths, which you swear in earnest. The expiation for a broken oath is the feeding of ten needy men with such food as you normally offer to your own people; or the clothing of ten needy men; or the freeing of one slave. Anyone who lacks the means shall fast for three days. That is the expiation of your breaking the oaths that you have sworn. Do keep your oaths. Thus God explains to you His commandments, so that you may be grateful. - Wahiduddin Khan

خدا تم سے بے مقصد قسمیں کھانے پر مواخذہ نہیں کرتا ہے لیکن جن قسموں کی گرہ دل نے باندھ لی ہے ان کی مخالفت کا کفارہ دس مسکینوں کے لئے اوسط درجہ کا کھانا ہے جو اپنے گھر والوں کو کھلاتے ہو یا ان کا کپڑا یا ایک غلام کی آزادی ہے .... پھر اگر یہ سب ناممکن ہو تو تین روزے رکھو ...._ کہ یہ تمہاری قسموں کا کفارہ ہے جب بھی تم قسم کھا کر اس کی مخالفت کرو اپنی قسموں کا تحفظ کرو کہ خدا اس طرح اپنی آیات کو واضح کرکے بیان کرتا ہے کہ شاید تم اس کے شکر گزار بندے بن جاؤ - Jawadi, Zeeshan

تم لوگ جو مہمل قسمیں کھا لیتے ہو اُن پر اللہ گرفت نہیں کرتا، مگر جو قسمیں تم جان بوجھ کر کھاتے ہو اُن پر ضرور تم سے مواخذہ کرے گا (ایسی قسم توڑنے کا) کفارہ یہ ہے کہ دس مسکینوں کو وہ اوسط درجے کا کھانا کھلاؤ جو تم اپنے بال بچوں کو کھلاتے ہو، یا انہیں کپڑے پہناؤ، یا ایک غلام آزاد کرو، اور جو اس کی استطاعت نہ رکھتا ہو وہ تین دن کے روزے رکھے یہ تمہاری قسموں کا کفارہ ہے جبکہ تم قسم کھا کر توڑ دو اپنی قسموں کی حفاظت کیا کرو اس طرح اللہ اپنے احکام تمہارے لیے واضح کرتا ہے شاید کہ تم شکر ادا کرو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اللہ تمہیں نہیں پکڑتا تمہاری غلط فہمی کی قسموں پر ہاں ان قسموں پر گرفت فرماتے ہے جنہیں تم نے مضبوط کیا تو ایسی قسم کا بدلہ دس مسکینوں کو کھانا دینا اپنے گھر والوں کو جو کھلاتے ہو اس کے اوسط میں سے یا انہیں کپڑے دینا یا ایک بردہ آزاد کرنا تو جو ان میں سے کچھ نہ پائے تو تین دن کے روزے یہ بدلہ ہے تمہاری قسموں کا، جب قسم کھاؤ اور اپنی قسموں کی حفاظت کرو اسی طرح اللہ تم سے اپنی آیتیں بیان فرماتا ہے کہ کہیں تم احسان مانو، - Ahmed Raza

اللہ تم سے تمہاری لایعنی قَسموں پر مواخذہ (بازپرس) نہیں کرے گا۔ مگر جو قسمیں تم نے قصداً کھائی ہیں (اور اس طرح مضبوط کی ہیں) تو ان پر ضرور تم سے مواخذہ کرے گا۔ اور (ایسی قسم توڑنے کا) کفارہ یہ ہے: ()دس مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلانا اوسط درجے کا جو تم اپنے گھر والوں کو کھلاتے ہو۔ () یا انہیں کپڑے پہناؤ۔ () یا پھر ایک غلام آزاد کرو۔ اور جس کو اس کا مقدور نہ ہو تو وہ تین روزہ رکھے۔ یہ تمہاری قَسموں کا کفارہ ہے جب تم قَسم کھاؤ اور اپنی قَسموں کی حفاظت کرو (خیال رکھو) اسی طرح اللہ تمہارے لئے اپنے آیات و احکام کھول کر بیان کرتا ہے تاکہ تم شکر گزار بنو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

O ye who believe! Strong drink and games of chance and idols and divining arrows are only an infamy of Satan's handiwork. Leave it aside in order that ye may succeed. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O you who have faith! Indeed wine, gambling, idols, and the divining arrows are abominations of Satan]s doing, so avoid them, so that you may be felicitous. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Indeed what
يُرِيدُ

ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
the mindless fiend

cause
بَيْنَكُمُ
amongst you
ٱلْعَدَٰوَةَ
the animosity
وَٱلْبَغْضَآءَ
and the aversion
فِى
in
ٱلْخَمْرِ
the intoxication,
وَٱلْمَيْسِرِ
and al-maisir-e*,
وَيَصُدَّكُمْ
and to stop you
عَن
from
ذِكْرِ
remembering
ٱللَّهِ
the One
وَعَنِ
and from
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
the Salaat.
ۖ
فَهَلْ
thus is it so that
أَنتُم
you are going to
مُّنتَهُونَ
abstain?
٥
٩١
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَن يُوقِعَ بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْعَدَٰوَةَ وَٱلْبَغْضَآءَ فِى ٱلْخَمْرِ وَٱلْمَيْسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَعَنِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّنتَهُونَ Indeed what desires the mindless fiend is to cause amongst you the animosity and the aversion in the intoxication, and al-maisir-e*, and to stop you from remembering the One and from the Salaat. thus is it so that you are going to abstain?

Satan seeketh only to cast among you enmity and hatred by means of strong drink and games of chance, and to turn you from remembrance of Allah and from (His) worship. Will ye then have done? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

تَوَلَّيْتُمْ
you turn back
فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟
then know that
أَنَّمَا
it is so that
عَلَىٰ
upon
رَسُولِنَا
Our messenger is
ٱلْبَلَٰغُ
the notification
ٱلْمُبِينُ
that is clear.
٥
٩٢
وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَٱحْذَرُوا۟ ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا عَلَىٰ رَسُولِنَا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ And obey the One and obey the messenger and be warned; then if you turn back then know that it is so that upon Our messenger is the notification that is clear.

Obey Allah and obey the messenger, and beware! But if ye turn away, then know that the duty of Our messenger is only plain conveyance (of the message). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And obey Allah and obey the Apostle, and beware; but if you turn your backs, then know that Our Apostle]s duty is only to communicate in clear terms. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Obey God and the Messenger and be cautious (of the harmful things). If you turn away (from Our laws), know that the duty of the Messenger is only to preach in clear words. - Sarwar, Muhammad

There shall be no sin (imputed) unto those who believe and do good works for what they may have eaten (in the past). So be mindful of your duty (to Allah), and believe, and do good works; and again: be mindful of your duty, and believe; and once again: be mindful of your duty, and do right. There will be no sin upon those who have faith and do righteous deeds in regard to what they have eaten [in the past] so long as they are Godwary and faithful and do righteous deeds, and are further Godwary and faithful, and are further Godwary and virtuous. The righteously striving believers will not be blamed for what they have eaten, if they maintain piety, do good deeds, have faith, and be charitable. God loves the generous people. - Sarwar, Muhammad

On those who believe and do good there is no blame for what they eat, when they are careful (of their duty) and believe and do good deeds, then they are careful (of their duty) and believe, then they are careful (of their duty) and do good (to others), and Allah loves those who do good (to others). - Shakir, Habib

جو لوگ ایمان لے آئے اور نیک عمل کرنے لگے انہوں نے پہلے جو کچھ کھایا پیا تھا اس پر کوئی گرفت نہ ہوگی بشرطیکہ وہ آئندہ اُن چیزوں سے بچے رہیں جو حرام کی گئی ہیں اور ایمان پر ثابت قدم رہیں اور اچھے کام کریں، پھر جس جس چیز سے روکا جائے اس سے رکیں اور جو فرمان الٰہی ہو اُسے مانیں، پھر خدا ترسی کے ساتھ نیک رویہ رکھیں اللہ نیک کردار لوگوں کو پسند کرتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

O ye who believe! Allah will surely try you somewhat (in the matter) of the game which ye take with your hands and your spears, that Allah may know him who feareth Him in secret. Whoso transgresseth after this, for him there is a painful doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
