وَلَمَن

لَمِنْ

عَزْمِ

[untranslated]

ٱلْأُمُورِ

وَلَمَن صَبَرَ وَغَفَرَ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ

And verily whoso is patient and forgiveth - lo! that, verily, is (of) the steadfast heart of things.

As for someone who endures patiently and forgives—that is indeed the steadiest of courses.

٤٤

وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ ۗ وَتَرَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ يَقُولُونَ هَلْ إِلَىٰ مَرَدٍّۢ مِّن سَبِيلٍۢ

⦿

He whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no protecting friend after Him. And thou (Muhammad) wilt see the evil-doers when they see the doom, (how) they say: Is there any way of return?

⦿

Those whom Allah leads astray have no guardian apart from Him. You will see the wrongdoers, when they sight the punishment, saying, [Is there any way for a retreat?]

- Qarai, Ali Quli

⦿

Whomever God has caused to go astray will find no guardian after this. You will see the unjust, on facing the torment, say, [Is there any way to turn back?

⦿

And whomsoever Allah makes err, he has no guardian after Him; and you shall see the unjust, when they see the punishment, saying: Is there any way to return?

Anyone whom God lets go astray will thereafter have no protector whatsoever: you will see the wrongdoers, when they face the punishment, exclaiming, [Is there no way back?]

اور جس کوخدا گمراہی میں چھوڑ دے اس کے لئے اس کے بعد کوئی ولی اور سرپرست نہیں ہے اورتم دیکھو گے کہ ظالمین عذاب کو دیکھنے کے بعد یہ کہیں گے کہ کیا واپسی کا کوئی راستہ نکل سکتا ہے

جس کو اللہ ہی گمراہی میں پھینک دے اُس کا کوئی سنبھالنے والا اللہ کے بعد نہیں ہے تم دیکھو گے کہ یہ ظالم جب عذاب دیکھیں گے تو کہیں گے اب پلٹنے کی بھی کوئی سبیل ہے؟

اور جسے اللہ گمراہ کرے اس کا کوئی رفیق نہیں اللہ کے مقابل اور تم ظالموں کو دیکھو گے کہ جب عذاب دیکھیں گے کہیں گے کیا واپس جانے کا کوئی راستہ ہے

اور جس کو اللہ گمراہی میں چھوڑ دے تو اس کے بعد اس کا کوئی سرپرست و کارساز نہیں ہے اورتم ظالموں کو دیکھو گے کہ جب وہ عذاب دیکھیں گے تو (گھبرا کر) کہیں گے کہایا (دنیا میں) واپسی کا کوئی راستہ ہے؟

وَتَرَىٰهُمْ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا خَٰشِعِينَ مِنَ ٱلذُّلِّ يَنظُرُونَ مِن طَرْفٍ خَفِىٍّۢ ۗ وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ فِى عَذَابٍۢ مُّقِيمٍۢ

⦿

And thou wilt see them exposed to (the Fire), made humble by disgrace, and looking with veiled eyes. And those who believe will say: Lo! the (eternal) losers are they who lose themselves and their housefolk on the Day of Resurrection. Lo! are not the wrong-doers in perpetual torment?

You will see them being exposed to it, humbled by abasement, furtively looking askance. The faithful will say, [Indeed the losers are those who have ruined themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, the wrongdoers will abide in lasting punishment.

You will see them exposed to the fire, subdued in humiliation, looking sideways at it pleadingly. However, at the same time, the believers will say, [The true losers are those who will lose their souls and families on the Day of Judgment. The unjust will certainly suffer everlasting torment.

And you shall see them brought before it humbling themselves because of the abasements, looking with a faint glance. And those who believe shall say: Surely the losers are they who have lost themselves and their followers on the resurrection day. Now surely the iniquitous shall remain in lasting chastisement.

You will see them exposed to the Fire, abject in humiliation, glancing furtively at it, while those who believed will say, [The losers are those ones who have forfeited their souls and their people on the Day of Resurrection.] Truly, the wrongdoers will remain in everlasting torment;

اور تم انہیں دیکھو گے کہ وہ جہنمّ کے سامنے پیش کئے جائیں گے تو ذلّت سے ان کے سر جھکے ہوئے ہوں گے اور وہ کن انکھیوں سے دیکھتے بھی جائیں گے اور صاحبانِ ایمان کہیں گے کہ گھاٹے والے وہی افرادہیں جنہوں نے اپنے نفس اوراپنے اہل کو قیامت کے دن گھاٹے میں مبتلا کردیا ہے آگاہ ہوجاؤ کہ ظالموں کو بہرحال دائمی عذاب میں رہنا پڑے گا

⦿

اور تم دیکھو گے کہ یہ جہنم کے سامنے جب لائے جائیں گے تو ذلت کے مارے جھکے جا رہے ہوں گے اور اُس کو نظر بچا بچا کر کن آنکھیوں سے دیکھیں گے اُس وقت وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے تھے کہیں گے کہ واقعی اصل زیاں کار وہی ہیں جنہوں نے آج قیامت کے دن اپنے آپ کو اور اپنے متعلقین کو خسارے میں ڈال دیا خبردار رہو، ظالم لوگ مستقل عذاب میں ہوں گے

اور تم انہیں دیکھو گے کہ آگ پر پیش کیے جاتے ہیں ذلت سے دبے لچے چھپی نگاہوں دیکھتے ہیں اور ایمان والے کہیں گے بیشک ہار (نقصان) میں وہ ہیں جو اپنی جانیں اور اپنے گھر والے ہار بیٹھے قیامت کے دن سنتے ہو بیشک ظالم ہمیشہ کے عذاب میں ہیں،

اور تم انہیں دیکھو گے کہ جب وہ دوزخ کے سامنے پیش کئے جائیں گے تو ذلت سے جھکے ہوئے ہوں گے (اور) کنکھیوں (چھپی نگاہ) سے دیکھتے ہوں گے اور اہلِ ایمان کہیں گے کہ حقیقی خسارہ اٹھا نے والے وہی لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے قیامت کے دن اپنے آپ کو اور اپنے اہل و عیال کو خسارہ میں ڈالا۔ آگاہ ہو کہ ظالم لوگ دائمی عذاب میں رہیں گے۔

وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ يَنصُرُونَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن سَبِيلٍ

⦿

And they will have no protecting friends to help them instead of Allah. He whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no road.

They have no awliya to help them besides Allah. There is no way out for those whom Allah leads astray.]

They will have no guardian or helper besides God. Whoever God has caused to go astray will never find the right direction].

And they shall have no friends to help them besides Allah; and-- whomsoever Allah makes err, he shall have no way.

اور ان کے کوئی حامی و سرپرست نہ ہوں گے جو اللہ کے مقابلے میں ان کی مدد کو آئیں جسے اللہ گمراہی میں پھینک دے اس کے لیے بچاؤ کی کوئی سبیل نہیں

اور ان کے کوئی دوست نہ ہوئے کہ اللہ کے مقابل ان کی مدد کرتے اور جسے اللہ گمراہ کرے اس کے لیے کہیں راستہ نہیں

اور اللہ کے سوا ان کے کوئی حامی و مددگار نہیں ہوں گے جو اللہ کے مقابلہ میں ان کی مدد کریں اور جسے اللہ گمراہی میں چھوڑ دے تو اس کے لئے کوئی راستہ نہیں ہے۔

ٱسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِرَبِّكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ يَوْمٌۭ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ مَا لَكُم مِّن مَّلْجَإٍۢ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّكِيرٍۢ

⦿

Answer the call of your Lord before there cometh unto you from Allah a Day which there is no averting. Ye have no refuge on that Day, nor have a ye any (power of) refusal.

⦿

Respond to your Lord before there comes a day for which there will be no revoking from Allah. On that day you will have no refuge, nor will you have [any chance for] denial [of your sins].

⦿

Pledge obedience to your Lord before the coming of the inevitable Day when you will find no refuge to escape from God's wrath and no one to defend you.

⦿

Hearken to your Lord before there comes the day from Allah for which there shall be no averting; you shall have no refuge on that day, nor shall it be yours to make a denial.

Respond to your Lord before a Day arrives that will not be averted [against God's will]. You will not find any refuge from God on that Day, nor will you have [any opportunity] to deny your sins.

تم لوگ اپنے پروردگار کی بات کو قبول کرو قبل اس کے کہ وہ دن آجائے جو پلٹنے والا نہیں ہے اس دن تمہارے لئے کوئی پناہ گاہ بھی نہ ہوگی اور عذاب کا انکار کرنے کی ہمت بھی نہ ہوگی

مان لو اپنے رب کی بات قبل اس کے کہ وہ دن آئے جس کے ٹلنے کی کوئی صورت اللہ کی طرف سے نہیں ہے اُس دن تمہارے لیے کوئی جائے پناہ نہ ہوگی اور نہ کوئی تمہارے حال کو بدلنے کی کوشش کرنے والا ہو گا

⦿

اپنے رب کا حکم مانو اس دن کے آنے سے پہلے جو اللہ کی طرف سے ٹلنے والا نہیں اس دن تمہیں کوئی پناہ نہ ہوگی اور نہ تمہیں انکار کرتے بنے

(اے لوگو) اپنے پروردگار کی دعوت پر لبیک کہواس سے پہلے کہ وہ دن آئے جو اللہ کی طرف سے ٹلنے والا نہیں ہے اس دن نہ تمہارے لئے کوئی جائے پناہ ہوگی اور نہ انکار کی کوئی گنجائش ہوگی (اور نہ ہی تمہاری طرف سے کوئی روک ٹوک کرنے والا ہوگا)۔

كَفُورٌۭ

فَإِنْ أَعْرَضُوا۟ فَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا ۖ إِنْ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ۗ وَإِنَّآ إِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةًۭ فَرِحَ بِهَا ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَإِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ كَفُورٌۭ

⦿

But if they are averse, We have not sent thee as a warder over them. Thine is only to convey (the message). And lo! when We cause man to taste of mercy from Us he exulteth therefor. And if some evil striketh them because of that which their own hands have sent before, then lo! man is an ingrate.

⦿

But if they disregard [your warnings], [keep in mind that] We have not sent you as their keeper. Your duty is only to communicate. Indeed when We let man taste Our mercy, he boasts about it; but should an ill visit him because of what his hands have sent ahead, then man is very ungrateful.

⦿

(Muhammad), if they turn away from your message, know that We have not sent you as their keeper. Your duty is only to deliver the message. When We grant mercy to the human being, he becomes joyous, but when he is afflicted by evil as a result of his own deeds, he proves to be ungrateful.

⦿

But if they turn aside, We have not sent you as a watcher over them; on you is only to deliver (the message); and surely when We make man taste mercy from Us, he rejoices thereat; and if an evil afflicts them on account of what their hands have already done, then-surely man is ungrateful.

⦿

Now if they turn away, We have not sent you [O Prophet] as their keeper: your responsibility is only to convey the message. Man is such that when We let him taste Our mercy, he exults in it, but if an evil befalls him which is his own doing, he becomes utterly ungrateful.

اب بھی اگر یہ لوگ اعتراض کریں تو ہم نے آپ کو ان کانگہبان بناکر نہیں بھیجا ہے آپ کا فرض صرف پیغام پہنچا دینا تھا اوربس اور ہم جب کسی انسان کو رحمت کامزہ چکھاتے ہیں تو وہ اکڑ جاتا ہے اورجب اس کے اعمال ہی کے نتیجہ میں کوئی برائی پہنچ جاتی ہے تو بہت زیادہ ناشکری کرنے والا بن جاتاہے

اب اگر یہ لوگ منہ موڑتے ہیں تو اے نبیؐ، ہم نے تم کو ان پر نگہبان بنا کر تو نہیں بھیجا ہے تم پر تو صرف بات پہنچا دینے کی ذمہ داری ہے انسان کا حال یہ ہے کہ جب ہم اسے اپنی رحمت کا مزا چکھاتے ہیں تو اُس پر پھول جاتا ہے، اور اگر اس کے اپنے ہاتھوں کا کیا دھرا کسی مصیبت کی شکل میں اُس پر الٹ پڑتا ہے تو سخت ناشکرا بن جاتا ہے

⦿

تو اگر وہ منہ پھیریں تو ہم نے تمہیں ان پر نگہبان بناکر نہیں بھیجا تم پر تو نہیں مگر پہنچادینا اور جب ہم آدمی کو اپنی طرف سے کسی رحمت کا مزہ دیتے ہیں اور اس پر خوش ہوجاتا ہے اور اگر انہیں کوئی برائی پہنچے بدلہ اس کا جو ان کے ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجا تو انسان بڑا ناشکرا ہے

اور اگر وہ رُوگردانی کریں تو ہم نے آپ کو ان کا نگہبان مقرر کر کے نہیں بھیجا آپ کی ذمہداری صرف پہنچا دینا ہے اور ہم جب انسان کو اپنی رحمت کامزہ چکھاتے ہیں تو وہ اس سے خوش ہوجاتا ہے اور اگر انہیں ان کے اعمال کی پاداش میں کوئی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو انسان بڑا ناشکرا بن جاتا ہے۔

لِّلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ يَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ إِنَٰثًۭا وَيَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ ٱلذُّكُورَ

Unto Allah belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He createth what He will. He bestoweth female (offspring) upon whom He will, and bestoweth male (offspring) upon whom He will;

Or He mingleth them, males and females, and He maketh barren whom He will. Lo! He is Knower, Powerful.

for a human being

أَوْ

وَرَآئِ

behind

حِجَابٍ

a veil,

أَوْ

رَسُولًۭا

a messenger

فَيُوحِىَ

thus revealing

بِإِذْنِهِۦ

by His permission

مَا

what

يَشَآءُ

He desires;

إِنَّهُۥ

indeed He is

عَلِىٌّ

above all of

حَكِيمٌۭ

wisdom.

وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا وَحْيًا أَوْ مِن وَرَآئِ حِجَابٍ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ رَسُولًۭا فَيُوحِىَ بِإِذْنِهِۦ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِىٌّ حَكِيمٌۭ

And not was for a human being that talks to him the One, except an inspiration, or from behind a veil, or sending a messenger thus revealing by His permission what He desires; indeed He is above all of wisdom.

And it was not (vouchsafed) to any mortal that Allah should speak to him unless (it be) by revelation or from behind a veil, or (that) He sendeth a messenger to reveal what He will by His leave. Lo! He is Exalted, Wise.

It is not [possible] for any human that Allah should speak to him except through revelation or from behind a veil, or send a messenger who reveals by His permission whatever He wishes. Indeed He is all-exalted, all-wise.

اورکسی انسان کے لئے یہ بات نہیں ہے کہ اللہ اس سے کلام کرے مگر یہ کہ وحی کردے یا پس پردہ سے بات کر لے یا کوئی نمائندہ فرشتہ بھیج دے اور پھر وہ اس کی اجازت سے جو وہ چاہتا ہے وہ پیغام پہنچا دے کہ وہ یقینا بلند و بالا اور صاحبِ حکمت ہے

کسی بشر کا یہ مقام نہیں ہے کہ اللہ اُس سے روبرو بات کرے اُس کی بات یا تو وحی (اشارے) کے طور پر ہوتی ہے، یا پردے کے پیچھے سے، یا پھر وہ کوئی پیغام بر (فرشتہ) بھیجتا ہے اور وہ اُس کے حکم سے جو کچھ وہ چاہتا ہے، وحی کرتا ہے، وہ برتر اور حکیم ہے

اور کسی آدمی کو نہیں پہنچتا کہ اللہ اس سے کلام فرمائے مگر وحی کے طور پر یا یوں کہ وہ بشر پر وہ عظمت کے ادھر ہو یا کوئی فرشتہ بھیجے کہ وہ اس کے حکم سے وحی کرے جو وہ چاہے بیشک وہ بلندی و حکمت والا ہے،

Consultation [ 42:52 ] الشورى

وَكَذَٰلِكَ

And that is how

أَوْحَيْنَآ

We inspired

إِلَيْكَ

to you

رُوحًۭا

a spirit

مِّنْ

from

أَمْرِنَا

our command;

مَا

not

كُنتَ

you were

تَدْرِى

cognizant of

مَا

what is

ٱلْكِتَٰبُ

the book,

وَلَا

and not of

ٱلْإِيمَٰنُ

the conviction,

وَلَٰكِن

rather

جَعَلْنَٰهُ

We put

نُورًۭا

a light

نَّهْدِى

of Our guidance

بِهِۦ

about it

مَن

whomever

نَّشَآءُ

We desire

مِنْ

عِبَادِنَا

Our slaves;

وَإِنَّكَ

and indeed you

لَتَهْدِىٓ

are to be guided

إِلَىٰ

towards

صِرَٰطٍۢ

path of

مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ

stability.

٤٢

٥٢

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ رُوحًۭا مِّنْ أَمْرِنَا ۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدْرِى مَا ٱلْكِتَٰبُ وَلَا ٱلْإِيمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِن جَعَلْنَٰهُ نُورًۭا نَّهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ۚ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ

And that is how We inspired to you a spirit from our command; not you were cognizant of what is the book, and not of the conviction, rather We put a light of Our guidance about it whomever We desire of Our slaves; and indeed you are to be guided towards path of stability.

And thus have We inspired in thee (Muhammad) a Spirit of Our command. Thou knewest not what the Scripture was, nor what the Faith. But We have made it a light whereby We guide whom We will of Our bondmen. And lo! thou verily dost guide unto a right path,

Thus have We imbued you with a Spirit of Our command. You did not know what the Book is, nor what is faith; but We made it a light that We may guide by its means whomever We wish of Our servants. Indeed, you guide to a straight path,

Thus, We have revealed a Spirit to you, (Muhammad), by Our command. Before, you did not even know what a Book or Faith was, but We have made the Quran as a light by which We guide whichever of Our servants We want. You certainly guide (people) to the right path,

And thus did We reveal to you an inspired book by Our command. You did not know what the Book was, nor (what) the faith (was), but We made it a light, guiding thereby whom We please of Our servants; and most surely you show the way to the right path:

اور اِسی طرح (اے محمدؐ) ہم نے اپنے حکم سے ایک روح تمہاری طرف وحی کی ہے تمہیں کچھ پتہ نہ تھا کہ کتاب کیا ہوتی ہے اور ایمان کیا ہوتا ہے، مگر اُس روح کو ہم نے ایک روشنی بنا دیا جس سے ہم راہ دکھاتے ہیں اپنے بندوں میں سے جسے چاہتے ہیں یقیناً تم سیدھے راستے کی طرف رہنمائی کر رہے ہو

اور یونہی ہم نے تمہیں وحی بھیجی ایک جان فزا چیز اپنے حکم سے، اس سے پہلے نہ تم کتاب جانتے تھے نہ احکام شرع کی تفصیل ہاں ہم نے اسے نور کیا جس سے ہم راہ دکھاتے ہیں اپنے بندوں سے جسے چاہتے ہیں، اور بیشک تم ضرور سیدھی راہ بتاتے ہو

اور اسی طرح ہم نے آپ کی طرف وحی کی صورت میں اپنی ایک (خاص) روح بھیجی آپ نہیں جانتے تھے کہ کتاب کیا ہے اور نہ یہ جا نتے تھے کہ ایمان کیا ہے؟ لیکن ہم نے اسے ایک نور بنایا جس سے ہم اپنے بندوں میں سے جسے چاہتے ہیں ہدایت دیتے ہیں اور یقیناً آپ سیدھے راستہ کی طرف راہنمائی کرتے ہیں۔

Consultation [ 42:53 ] الشورى

صِرَٰطِ

Path of

ٱللَّهِ

the One

ٱلَّذِى

— the Entity

لَهُۥ

belongs to Whom

مَا

what is

فِى

within

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

the heavens

وَمَا

and what is

فِى

within

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the land —

أَلَآ

Is it not that

إِلَى

with

ٱللَّهِ

the One

تَصِيرُ

are rendered

ٱلْأُمُورُ

the helm of affairs?

٤٢

٥٣

صِرَٰطِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ أَلَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَصِيرُ ٱلْأُمُورُ

Path of the One — the Entity belongs to Whom what is within the heavens and what is within the land — Is it not that with the One are rendered the helm of affairs?

The path of Allah, unto Whom belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Do not all things reach Allah at last?

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.
