وَلَوْ بَسَطَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهِۦ لَبَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِن يُنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٍۢ مَّا يَشَآءُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِعِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرٌۢ بَصِيرٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And if Allah were to enlarge the provision for His slaves they would surely rebel in the earth, but He sendeth down by measure as He willeth. Lo! He is Informed, a Seer of His bondmen. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Were Allah to expand the provision for [all] His servants, they would surely create havoc on the earth. But He sends down in a [precise] measure whatever He wishes. Indeed, He is all-aware, all-seeing about His servants. - Qarai, Ali Quli

إِن يَشَأْ يُسْكِنِ ٱلرِّيحَ فَيَظْلَلْنَ رَوَاكِدَ عَلَىٰ ظَهْرِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍۢ شَكُورٍ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

If He will He calmeth the wind so that they keep still upon its surface - Lo! herein verily are signs for every steadfast grateful (heart). - - Pickthall, Marmaduke

If He wishes He stills the wind, whereat they remain standstill on its surface. There are indeed signs in that for every patient and grateful [servant]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Had He wanted, He could have stopped the wind and let the ships remain motionless on the surface of the sea, in this there is evidence (of the Truth) for all those who are patient and grateful, - Sarwar, Muhammad

If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one, - Shakir, Habib

اللہ جب چاہے ہوا کو ساکن کر دے اور یہ سمندر کی پیٹھ پر کھڑے کے کھڑے رہ جائیں اِس میں بڑی نشانیاں ہیں ہر اُس شخص کے لیے جو کمال درجہ صبر و شکر کرنے والا ہو - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَٰٓئِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ وَإِذَا مَا غَضِبُوا۟ هُمْ يَغْفِرُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]
⦿
And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
—those who avoid major sins and indecencies, and forgive when angered; - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
(This reward will be for) those who keep away from major sins and indecency, who forgive when they are made angry, - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And those who. shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. - Shakir, Habib

who refrain from heinous sins and gross indecencies; who forgive when they are angry; - Wahiduddin Khan

اوربڑے بڑے گناہوں اور فحش باتوں سے پرہیز کرتے ہیں اور جب غصّہ آجاتا ہے تو معاف کردیتے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِرَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَىٰ بَيْنَهُمْ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]
⦿
And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish worship, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

those who answer their Lord, maintain the prayer, and [conduct] their affairs by counsel among themselves, and they spend out of what We have provided them; - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
who have pledged their obedience to the Lord, who are steadfast in prayer, who conduct their affairs with consultation among themselves, who spend for the cause of God out of what We have given them, - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And those who respond to their Lord and keep up prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who spend out of what We have given them. - Shakir, Habib

who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them; - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جو اپنے رب کی بات کو قبول کرتے ہیں اور نماز قائم کرتے ہیں اور آپس کے معاملات میں مشورہ کرتے ہیں اور ہمارے رزق میں سے ہماری راہ میں خرچ کرتے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

وَجَزَٰٓؤُا۟ سَيِّئَةٍۢ سَيِّئَةٌۭ مِّثْلُهَا ۖ فَمَنْ عَفَا وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَجْرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]
⦿
The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The requital of evil is an evil like it, so whoever excuses and conciliates, his reward lies with Allah. Indeed, He does not like the wrongdoers. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
The recompense for evil will be equivalent to the deed. He who pardons (the evil done to him) and reforms himself, will receive his reward from God. God certainly does not love the unjust. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And the recompense of evil is punishment like it, but whoever forgives and amends, he shall have his reward from Allah; surely He does not love the unjust. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہر برائی کابدلہ اس کے جیسا ہوتا ہے پھرجو معاف کردے اور اصلاح کردے اس کااجر اللہ کے ذمہ ہے وہ یقینا ظالموں کو دوست نہیں رکھتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

برائی کا بدلہ ویسی ہی برائی ہے، پھر جو کوئی معاف کر دے اور اصلاح کرے اُس کا اجر اللہ کے ذمہ ہے، اللہ ظالموں کو پسند نہیں کرتا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور برائی کا بدلہ اسی کی برابر برائی ہے تو جس نے معاف کیا اور کام سنوارا تو اس کا اجر اللہ پر ہے، بیشک وہ دوست نہیں رکھتا ظالموں کو - Ahmed Raza

اور برائی کا بدلہ تو ویسے ہی برائی ہے اور جو معاف کر دے اورا صلاح کرے تو اس کا اجر خدا کے ذمہ ہے بیشک وہ (اللہ) ظالموں کو پسند نہیں کرتا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who successfully defend themselves after being wronged will not be questioned. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame). - Shakir, Habib

He whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no protecting friend after Him. And thou (Muhammad) wilt see the evil-doers when they see the doom, (how) they say: Is there any way of return? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those whom Allah leads astray have no guardian apart from Him. You will see the wrongdoers, when they sight the punishment, saying, [Is there any way for a retreat?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Whomever God has caused to go astray will find no guardian after this. You will see the unjust, on facing the torment, say, [Is there any way to turn back? - Sarwar, Muhammad

And whomsoever Allah makes err, he has no guardian after Him; and you shall see the unjust, when they see the punishment, saying: Is there any way to return? - Shakir, Habib

Anyone whom God lets go astray will thereafter have no protector whatsoever: you will see the wrongdoers, when they face the punishment, exclaiming, [Is there no way back?] - Wahiduddin Khan

وَتَرَىٰهُمْ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا خَٰشِعِينَ مِنَ ٱلذُّلِّ يَنظُرُونَ مِن طَرْفٍ خَفِىٍّۢ ۗ وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ فِى عَذَابٍۢ مُّقِيمٍۢ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And thou wilt see them exposed to (the Fire), made humble by disgrace, and looking with veiled eyes. And those who believe will say: Lo! the (eternal) losers are they who lose themselves and their housefolk on the Day of Resurrection. Lo! are not the wrong-doers in perpetual torment? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

You will see them being exposed to it, humbled by abasement, furtively looking askance. The faithful will say, [Indeed the losers are those who have ruined themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, the wrongdoers will abide in lasting punishment. - Qarai, Ali Quli

You will see them exposed to the fire, subdued in humiliation, looking sideways at it pleadingly. However, at the same time, the believers will say, [The true losers are those who will lose their souls and families on the Day of Judgment. The unjust will certainly suffer everlasting torment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And you shall see them brought before it humbling themselves because of the abasements, looking with a faint glance. And those who believe shall say: Surely the losers are they who have lost themselves and their followers on the resurrection day. Now surely the iniquitous shall remain in lasting chastisement. - Shakir, Habib

You will see them exposed to the Fire, abject in humiliation, glancing furtively at it, while those who believed will say, [The losers are those ones who have forfeited their souls and their people on the Day of Resurrection.] Truly, the wrongdoers will remain in everlasting torment; - Wahiduddin Khan

اور تم انہیں دیکھو گے کہ وہ جہنمّ کے سامنے پیش کئے جائیں گے تو ذلّت سے ان کے سر جھکے ہوئے ہوں گے اور وہ کن انکھیوں سے دیکھتے بھی جائیں گے اور صاحبانِ ایمان کہیں گے کہ گھاٹے والے وہی افرادہیں جنہوں نے اپنے نفس اوراپنے اہل کو قیامت کے دن گھاٹے میں مبتلا کردیا ہے آگاہ ہوجاؤ کہ ظالموں کو بہرحال دائمی عذاب میں رہنا پڑے گا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور تم دیکھو گے کہ یہ جہنم کے سامنے جب لائے جائیں گے تو ذلت کے مارے جھکے جا رہے ہوں گے اور اُس کو نظر بچا بچا کر کن آنکھیوں سے دیکھیں گے اُس وقت وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے تھے کہیں گے کہ واقعی اصل زیاں کار وہی ہیں جنہوں نے آج قیامت کے دن اپنے آپ کو اور اپنے متعلقین کو خسارے میں ڈال دیا خبردار رہو، ظالم لوگ مستقل عذاب میں ہوں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور تم انہیں دیکھو گے کہ آگ پر پیش کیے جاتے ہیں ذلت سے دبے لچے چھپی نگاہوں دیکھتے ہیں اور ایمان والے کہیں گے بیشک ہار (نقصان) میں وہ ہیں جو اپنی جانیں اور اپنے گھر والے ہار بیٹھے قیامت کے دن سنتے ہو بیشک ظالم ہمیشہ کے عذاب میں ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

اور تم انہیں دیکھو گے کہ جب وہ دوزخ کے سامنے پیش کئے جائیں گے تو ذلت سے جھکے ہوئے ہوں گے (اور) کنکھیوں (چھپی نگاہ) سے دیکھتے ہوں گے اور اہلِ ایمان کہیں گے کہ حقیقی خسارہ اٹھا نے والے وہی لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے قیامت کے دن اپنے آپ کو اور اپنے اہل و عیال کو خسارہ میں ڈالا۔ آگاہ ہو کہ ظالم لوگ دائمی عذاب میں رہیں گے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ

كَفُورٌۭ

But if they are averse, We have not sent thee as a warder over them. Thine is only to convey (the message). And lo! when We cause man to taste of mercy from Us he exulteth therefor. And if some evil striketh them because of that which their own hands have sent before, then lo! man is an ingrate. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But if they disregard [your warnings], [keep in mind that] We have not sent you as their keeper. Your duty is only to communicate. Indeed when We let man taste Our mercy, he boasts about it; but should an ill visit him because of what his hands have sent ahead, then man is very ungrateful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), if they turn away from your message, know that We have not sent you as their keeper. Your duty is only to deliver the message. When We grant mercy to the human being, he becomes joyous, but when he is afflicted by evil as a result of his own deeds, he proves to be ungrateful. - Sarwar, Muhammad

But if they turn aside, We have not sent you as a watcher over them; on you is only to deliver (the message); and surely when We make man taste mercy from Us, he rejoices thereat; and if an evil afflicts them on account of what their hands have already done, then-surely man is ungrateful. - Shakir, Habib

Now if they turn away, We have not sent you [O Prophet] as their keeper: your responsibility is only to convey the message. Man is such that when We let him taste Our mercy, he exults in it, but if an evil befalls him which is his own doing, he becomes utterly ungrateful. - Wahiduddin Khan

اب بھی اگر یہ لوگ اعتراض کریں تو ہم نے آپ کو ان کانگہبان بناکر نہیں بھیجا ہے آپ کا فرض صرف پیغام پہنچا دینا تھا اوربس اور ہم جب کسی انسان کو رحمت کامزہ چکھاتے ہیں تو وہ اکڑ جاتا ہے اورجب اس کے اعمال ہی کے نتیجہ میں کوئی برائی پہنچ جاتی ہے تو بہت زیادہ ناشکری کرنے والا بن جاتاہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اب اگر یہ لوگ منہ موڑتے ہیں تو اے نبیؐ، ہم نے تم کو ان پر نگہبان بنا کر تو نہیں بھیجا ہے تم پر تو صرف بات پہنچا دینے کی ذمہ داری ہے انسان کا حال یہ ہے کہ جب ہم اسے اپنی رحمت کا مزا چکھاتے ہیں تو اُس پر پھول جاتا ہے، اور اگر اس کے اپنے ہاتھوں کا کیا دھرا کسی مصیبت کی شکل میں اُس پر الٹ پڑتا ہے تو سخت ناشکرا بن جاتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala
