يَوْمَ
A day
هُم
they
بَٰرِزُونَ
will be coming out;
ۖ
لَا
not
يَخْفَىٰ
hides
عَلَى
upon
ٱللَّهِ
the One
مِنْهُمْ
from them
شَىْءٌۭ
any thing;
ۚ
لِّمَنِ
for Whom is
ٱلْمُلْكُ
the ownership of
ٱلْيَوْمَ
the day,
ۖ
لِلَّهِ
for the One,
ٱلْوَٰحِدِ
the Singular
ٱلْقَهَّارِ
Subjugator.
٤٠
١٦
يَوْمَ هُم بَٰرِزُونَ ۖ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ شَىْءٌۭ ۚ لِّمَنِ ٱلْمُلْكُ ٱلْيَوْمَ ۖ لِلَّهِ ٱلْوَٰحِدِ ٱلْقَهَّارِ A day they will be coming out; not hides upon the One from them any thing; for Whom is the ownership of the day, for the One, the Singular Subjugator.

The day when they come forth, nothing of them being hidden from Allah. Whose is the Sovereignty this day? It is Allah's, the One, the Almighty. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The day when they will emerge [from their graves], nothing about them will be hidden from Allah. [To whom does the sovereignty belong today?] [To Allah, the One, the All-paramount!] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Nothing will remain hidden from God concerning them on the day when they appear before God (from their graves) (It will be asked), [To whom does the kingdom belong on this Day?] (It will be answered), [The kingdom belongs to the Almighty One God]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

The day
تُجْزَىٰ
satisfactory payment will be made to

بِمَا

كَسَبَتْ
it earned;

لَا
no
ظُلْمَ
injustice will be done on
ٱلْيَوْمَ
that day;
ۚ
إِنَّ
surely
ٱللَّهَ
the One is
سَرِيعُ
swift of
ٱلْحِسَابِ
the final calculation.
٤٠
١٧
ٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ ۚ لَا ظُلْمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ The day satisfactory payment will be made to every psyche with what it earned; no injustice will be done on that day; surely the One is swift of the final calculation.

This day is each soul requited that which it hath earned; no wrong (is done) this day. Lo! Allah is swift at reckoning. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Warn them (O Muhammad) of the Day of the approaching (doom), when the hearts will be choking the throats, (when) there will be no friend for the wrong-doers, nor any intercessor who will be heard. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Warn them of the Approaching Day, when the hearts will be at the throats, choking with suppressed agony, [and] the wrongdoers will have no sympathizer, nor any intercessor who might be heard. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), warn them of the approaching day when because of hardship and frustration their hearts will almost reach up to their throats. The unjust will have no friends nor any intercessor who will be heard. - Sarwar, Muhammad

اے نبیؐ، ڈرا دو اِن لوگوں کو اُس دن سے جو قریب آ لگا ہے جب کلیجے منہ کو آ رہے ہوں گے اور لوگ چپ چاپ غم کے گھونٹ پیے کھڑے ہونگے ظالموں کا نہ کوئی مشفق دوست ہو گا اور نہ کوئی شفیع جس کی بات مانی جائے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور انہیں ڈراؤ اس نزدیک آنے والی آفت کے دن سے جب دل گلوں کے پاس آجائیں گے غم میں بھرے، اور ظالموں کا نہ کوئی دوست نہ کوئی سفارشی جس کا کہا مانا جائے - Ahmed Raza

Allah judgeth with truth, while those to whom they cry instead of Him judge not at all. Lo! Allah, He is the Hearer, the Seer. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوا۟ هُمْ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةًۭ وَءَاثَارًۭا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍۢ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Have they not travelled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those who disbelieved before them? They were mightier than these in power and (in the) traces (which they left behind them) in the earth. Yet Allah seized them for their sins, and they had no protector from Allah. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Have they not travelled through the land so that they may observe how was the fate of those who were before them? They were greater than them in might and with respect to the effects [they left] in the land. But then Allah seized them for their sins, and they had no defender against Allah []s punishment]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Have they not travelled through the land to see the terrible end of those who lived before them. They had been mightier than them in power and in leaving their traces on earth. God punished them for their sins. They had no one to save them from God's torment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Have they not travelled in the earth and seen how was the end of those who were before them? Mightier than these were they in strength-- and in fortifications in the land, but Allah destroyed them for their sins; and there was not for them any defender against Allah. - Shakir, Habib

کیا ان لوگوں نے زمین میں سیر نہیں کی کہ دیکھتے کہ ان سے پہلے والوں کا انجام کیا ہوا ہے جو ان سے زیادہ زبردست قوت رکھنے والے تھے اور زمین میں آثار کے مالک تھے پھر خدا نے انہیں ان کے گناہوں کی گرفت میں لے لیا اور اللہ کے مقابلہ میں ان کا کوئی بچانے والا نہیں تھا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

کیا یہ لوگ کبھی زمین میں چلے پھرے نہیں ہیں کہ انہیں اُن لوگوں کا انجام نظر آتا جو اِن سے پہلے گزر چکے ہیں؟ وہ اِن زیادہ طاقت ور تھے اور ان سے زیادہ زبردست آثار زمین میں چھوڑ گئے ہیں مگر اللہ نے ان کے گناہوں پر انہیں پکڑ لیا اور اُن کو اللہ سے بچانے والا کوئی نہ تھا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو کیا انہوں نے زمین میں سفر نہ کیا کہ دیکھتے کیسا انجام ہوا ان سے اگلوں کا ان کی قوت اور زمین میں جو نشانیاں چھوڑ گئے ان سے زائد تو اللہ نے انہیں ان کے گناہوں پر پکڑا، اور اللہ سے ان کا کوئی بچانے والا نہ ہوا - Ahmed Raza

قَوِىٌّۭ

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانَت تَّأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَكَفَرُوا۟ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ قَوِىٌّۭ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

That was because their messengers kept bringing them clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) but they disbelieved; so Allah seized them. Lo! He is Strong, severe in punishment. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

That was because their apostles used to bring them manifest proofs, but they defied [them]. So Allah seized them. Indeed He is all-strong, severe in retribution. - Qarai, Ali Quli

یہ ان کا انجام اس لیے ہوا کہ ان کے پاس اُن کے رسول بینات لے کر آئے اور انہوں نے ماننے سے انکار کر دیا آخر کار اللہ نے ان کو پکڑ لیا، یقیناً وہ بڑی قوت والا اور سزا دینے میں بہت سخت ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

یہ اس لیے کہ ان کے پاس ان کے رسول روشن نشانیاں لے کر آئے پھر وہ کفر کرتے تو اللہ نے انہیں پکڑا، بیشک اللہ زبردست عذاب والا ہے، - Ahmed Raza

And certainly
أَرْسَلْنَا
We sent
مُوسَىٰ
Moosa
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
with Our signs
وَسُلْطَٰنٍۢ
and authority of
مُّبِينٍ
clarity.
And certainly We sent Moosa with Our signs and authority of clarity.

And verily We sent Moses with Our revelations and a clear warrant - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Towards
فِرْعَوْنَ
Fir'oun
وَهَٰمَٰنَ
and Hamaan
وَقَٰرُونَ
and Qaroon,
فَقَالُوا۟
thus they said,
سَٰحِرٌۭ
[An illusionist
كَذَّابٌۭ
and a liar!]
Towards Fir'oun and Hamaan and Qaroon, thus they said, [An illusionist and a liar!]

Unto Pharaoh and Haman and Korah, but they said: A lying sorcerer! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

to Pharaoh, Haman and Korah, but they said, [A magician and a mendacious liar.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

to the Pharaoh, Haman, and Korah, who said, [He is only a lying magician.]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

فرعون ًہامان اور قارون کی طرف تو ان سب نے کہہ دیا کہ یہ جادوگر اور جھوٹے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ مِنْ عِندِنَا قَالُوا۟ ٱقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَبْنَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ وَٱسْتَحْيُوا۟ نِسَآءَهُمْ ۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And when he brought them the Truth from Our presence, they said: Slay the sons of those who believe with him, and spare their women. But the plot of disbelievers is in naught but error. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So when he brought them the truth from Us, they said, [Kill the sons of the faithful who are with him, and spare their women.] But the stratagems of the faithless only go awry. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When We sent him to them for a genuine purpose, they said, [Kill the sons of those who have believed in him but keep their women alive.] The plots of the unbelievers can only result in failure. - Sarwar, Muhammad

So when he brought to them the truth from Us, they said: Slay the sons of those who believe with him and keep their women alive; and the struggle of the unbelievers will only come to a state of perdition. - Shakir, Habib

تو پھر اس کے بعد جب وہ ہماری طرف سے حق لے کر آئے تو ان لوگوں نے کہہ دیا کہ جو ان پر ایمان لے آئیں ان کے لڑکوں کو قتل کردو اور لڑکیوں کو زندہ رکھو اور کافروں کا مکر بہرحال بھٹک جانے والا ہوتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر جب وہ ہماری طرف سے حق ان کے سامنے لے آیا تو انہوں نے کہا ——جو لوگ ایمان لا کر اس کے ساتھ شامل ہوئے ہیں ان سب کے لڑکوں کو قتل کرو اور لڑکیاں کو جیتا چھوڑ دو—— مگر کافروں کی چال اکارت ہی گئی - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر جب وہ ان پر ہمارے پاس سے حق لایا بولے جو اس پر ایمان لائے ان کے بیٹے قتل کرو اور عورتیں زندہ رکھو اور کافروں کا داؤ نہیں مگر بھٹکتا پھرتا - Ahmed Raza

And Pharaoh said: Suffer me to kill Moses, and let him cry unto his Lord. Lo! I fear that he will alter your religion or that he will cause confusion in the land. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And Pharaoh said, [Let me slay Moses, and let him invoke his Lord. Indeed I fear that he will change your religion, or bring forth corruption in our land.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The Pharaoh said, [Let me kill Moses and let him call for help from his Lord. I am afraid that he will change your religion or spread evil through the land.]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And Firon said: Let me alone that I may slay Musa and let him call upon his Lord; surely I fear that he will change your religion or that he will make mischief to appear in the land. - Shakir, Habib

Pharaoh said, [Let me kill Moses, let him call upon his Lord, I fear that he may cause you to change your religion, or that he may cause disorder in the land.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور فرعون نے کہا کہ ذرا مجھے چھوڑ دو میں موسٰی علیھ السّلام کا خاتمہ کردوں اور یہ اپنے رب کو پکاریں - مجھے خوف ہے کہ کہیں یہ تمہارے دین کو بدل نہ دیں اور زمین میں کوئی فساد نہ برپا کردیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ایک روز فرعون نے اپنے درباریوں سے کہا ——چھوڑو مجھے، میں اِس موسیٰؑ کو قتل کیے دیتا ہوں، اور پکار دیکھے یہ اپنے رب کو مجھے اندیشہ ہے کہ یہ تمہارا دین بدل ڈالے گا، یا ملک میں فساد برپا کرے گا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور فرعون بولا مجھے چھوڑو میں موسیٰ کو قتل کروں اور وہ اپنے رب کو پکارے میں ڈرتا ہوں کہیں وہ تمہارا دین بدل دے یا زمین میں فساد چمکائے - Ahmed Raza

اور فرعون نے کہا کہ مجھے چھوڑ دو۔ میں موسیٰ(ع) کو قتل کر دوں اور وہ (اپنی مدد کیلئے) اپنے پرورگار کو پکارے مجھے اندیشہ ہے کہ وہ کہیں تمہارا دین (شرک) نہ بدل دے۔ یا زمین میں فساد برپا نہ کر دے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
