Whoso migrateth for the cause of Allah will find much refuge and abundance in the earth, and whoso forsaketh his home, a fugitive unto Allah and His messenger, and death overtaketh him, his reward is then incumbent on Allah. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Whoever migrates in the way of Allah will find many havens and plenitude in the earth. And whoever leaves his home migrating toward Allah and His Apostle, and is then overtaken by death, his reward shall certainly fall on Allah, and Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

And whenever
ضَرَبْتُمْ
you go forth
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the land
فَلَيْسَ
then not it is
عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you
جُنَاحٌ
an offense
أَن
that
تَقْصُرُوا۟
you reduce
مِنَ
from
ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
the assembly
إِنْ
if
خِفْتُمْ
you anticipate
أَن
that
يَفْتِنَكُمُ
will try (to attack) you
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
كَفَرُوٓا۟
are in denial;
ۚ
إِنَّ
surely
ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
the denying people
كَانُوا۟
have been
لَكُمْ
to you
عَدُوًّۭا
an enemy
مُّبِينًۭا
clearly.
٤
١٠١
وَإِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَقْصُرُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ إِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَن يَفْتِنَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ كَانُوا۟ لَكُمْ عَدُوًّۭا مُّبِينًۭا And whenever you go forth in the land then not it is upon you an offense that you reduce from the assembly if you anticipate that will try (to attack) you the ones who are in denial; surely the denying people have been to you an enemy clearly.

And when ye go forth in the land, it is no sin for you to curtail (your) worship if ye fear that those who disbelieve may attack you. In truth the disbelievers are an open enemy to you. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When you journey in the land, there is no sin upon you in shortening the prayers, if you fear that the faithless may trouble you; indeed the faithless are your manifest enemies. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When you are on a journey, it is no sin to shorten your prayers if you are afraid of the mischief of the unbelievers. The unbelievers have always been your sworn enemies - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when you journey in the earth, there is no blame on you if you shorten the prayer, if you fear that those who disbelieve will cause you distress, surely the unbelievers are your open enemy. - Shakir, Habib

اور جب تم زمین میں سفر کرو تو تم پر گناہ نہیں کہ بعض نمازیں قصر سے پڑھو اگر تمہیں اندیشہ ہو کہ کافر تمہیں ایذا دیں گے بیشک کفار تمہارے کھلے دشمن ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

وَإِذَا كُنتَ فِيهِمْ فَأَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَلْتَقُمْ طَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْهُم مَّعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ فَإِذَا سَجَدُوا۟ فَلْيَكُونُوا۟ مِن وَرَآئِكُمْ وَلْتَأْتِ طَآئِفَةٌ أُخْرَىٰ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا۟ فَلْيُصَلُّوا۟ مَعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَهُمْ وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ ۗ وَدَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ تَغْفُلُونَ عَنْ أَسْلِحَتِكُمْ وَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْ فَيَمِيلُونَ عَلَيْكُم مَّيْلَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ ۚ وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِن كَانَ بِكُمْ أَذًۭى مِّن مَّطَرٍ أَوْ كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَن تَضَعُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَكُمْ ۖ وَخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًۭا مُّهِينًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And when thou (O Muhammad) art among them and arrangest (their) worship for them, let only a party of them stand with thee (to worship) and let them take their arms. Then when they have performed their prostrations let them fall to the rear and let another party come that hath not worshipped and let them worship with thee, and let them take their precaution and their arms. Those who disbelieve long for you to neglect your arms and your baggage that they may attack you once for all. It is no sin for you to lay aside your arms, if rain impedeth you or ye are sick. But take your precaution. Lo! Allah prepareth for the disbelievers shameful punishment. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When you are among them, leading them in prayers, let a group of them stand with you, carrying their weapons. And when they have done the prostrations, let them withdraw to the rear, then let the other group which has not prayed come and pray with you, taking their precautions and [bearing] their weapons. The faithless are eager that you should be oblivious of your weapons and your baggage, so that they could assault you all at once. But there is no sin upon you, if you are troubled by rain or are sick, to set aside your weapons; but take your precautions. Indeed Allah has prepared for the faithless a humiliating punishment. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), if you are among them (your followers during a battle) and you call them for prayer, let a group of them carry their arms during prayer. After they have made their prostrations, let them go back to watch the enemy and let the other group who has not yet prayed, join you, carrying their arms with due precaution. The unbelievers would love to find you neglecting your arms and property and would attack you suddenly. If rain or illness make you suffer, you may place your arms aside during prayer but still observe due precaution. God has prepared a humiliating torment for the unbelievers. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when you are among them and keep up the prayer for them, let a party of them stand up with you, and let them take their arms; then when they have prostrated themselves let them go to your rear, and let another party who have not prayed come forward and pray with you, and let them take their precautions and their arms; (for) those who disbelieve desire that you may be careless of your arms and your luggage, so that they may then turn upon you with a sudden united attack, and there is no blame on you, if you are annoyed with rain or if you are sick, that you lay down your arms, and take your precautions; surely Allah has prepared a disgraceful chastisement for the unbelievers. - Shakir, Habib

When you are among the believers and lead them in prayer, let only part of them stand up along with you, armed with their weapons. After they have prostrated themselves, let them withdraw to the rear to stand guard and then let another party, who have not yet prayed, come forward and pray with you. And let them also be on their guard, armed with their weapons. Those who deny the truth want you to be negligent of your arms and your baggage, so that they may fall upon you suddenly. It is no offence for you to lay aside your arms when overtaken by heavy rain or illness, and always take every precaution for defence. God has prepared a humiliating punishment for those who deny the truth. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جب آپ مجاہدین کے درمیان ہوں اور ان کے لئے نماز قائم کریں تو ان کی ایک جماعت آپ کے ساتھ نماز پڑھے اور اپنے اسلحہ ساتھ رکھے اس کے بعد جب یہ سجدہ کرچکیں تو یہ پشت پناہ بن جائیں اور دوسری جماعت جس نے نماز نہیں پڑھی ہے وہ آکر شریمَ نماز ہوجائے اور اپنے اسلحہ اور بچاؤ کے سامان اپنے ساتھ رکھے- کفار کی خواہش یہی ہے کہ تم اپنے سازو سامان اور اسلحہ سے غافل ہوجاؤ تو یہ یکبارگی حملہ کردیں .... ہاں اگر بارش یا بیماری کی وجہ سے اسلحہ نہ اٹھاسکتے ہو تو کوئی حرج نہیں ہے کہ اسلحہ رکھ دو لیکن بچاؤ کا سامان ساتھ رکھو- اللہ نے کفر کرنے والوں کے لئے رسوا کن عذاب مہیّا کررکھا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اے نبیؐ! جب تم مسلمانوں کے درمیان ہو اور (حالت جنگ میں) انہیں نماز پڑھانے کھڑے ہو تو چاہیے کہ ان میں سے ایک گروہ تمہارے ساتھ کھڑا ہو اور اسلحہ لیے رہے، پھر جب وہ سجدہ کر لے تو پیچھے چلا جائے اور دوسرا گروہ جس نے ابھی نماز نہیں پڑھی ہے آکر تمہارے ساتھ پڑھے اور وہ بھی چوکنا رہے اور اپنے اسلحہ لیے رہے، کیوں کہ کفار اِس تاک میں ہیں کہ تم اپنے ہتھیاروں اور اپنے سامان کی طرف سے ذرا غافل ہو تو وہ تم پر یکبارگی ٹوٹ پڑیں البتہ اگر تم بارش کی وجہ سے تکلیف محسوس کرو یا بیمار ہو تو اسلحہ رکھ دینے میں کوئی مضائقہ نہیں، مگر پھر بھی چوکنے رہو یقین رکھو کہ اللہ نے کافروں کے لیے رسوا کن عذاب مہیا کر رکھا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اے محبوب! جب تم ان میں تشریف فرما ہو پھر نماز میں ان کی امامت کرو تو چاہئے کہ ان میں ایک جماعت تمہارے ساتھ ہو اور وہ اپنے ہتھیار لیے رہیں پھر جب وہ سجدہ کرلیں تو ہٹ کر تم سے پیچھے ہوجائیں اور اب دوسری جماعت آئے جو اس وقت تک نماز میں شریک نہ تھی اب وہ تمہارے مقتدی ہوں اور چاہئے کہ اپنی پناہ اور اپنے ہتھیار لیے رہیں کافروں کی تمنا ہے کہ کہیں تم اپنے ہتھیاروں اور اپنے اسباب سے غافل ہو جاؤ تو ایک دفعہ تم پر جھک پڑیں اور تم پر مضائقہ نہیں اگر تمہیں مینھ کے سبب تکلیف ہو یا بیمار ہو کہ اپنے ہتھیار کھول رکھو اور اپنی پناہ لیے رہو بیشک اللہ نے کافروں کے لئے خواری کا عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہے، - Ahmed Raza

اے رسول(ص) جب آپ(ص) ان (مسلمانوں) میں ہوں اور انہیں نماز (باجماعت) پڑھانے لگیں تو چاہیے کہ ان کا ایک گروہ آپ کے ساتھ کھڑا ہو۔ اور وہ لوگ اپنے ہتھیار لئے رہیں۔ اور جب یہ سجدہ کر چکیں (نماز پڑھ چکیں) تو یہ (پشت پناہی کے لیے) تمہارے پیچھے چلے جائیں اور پھر وہ دوسرا گروہ جس نے ہنوز نماز نہیں پڑھی ہے۔ آجائے اور آپ کے ساتھ نماز پڑھے۔ اور چوکنا رہے اور اپنا اسلحہ لئے رہے، کفار کی تو یہ خواہش ہے کہ تم اپنے ہتھیاروں اور اپنے سازوسامان سے (ذرا) غافل ہو جاؤ اور وہ تم پر یکبارگی ٹوٹ پڑیں۔ اور اگر تمہیں بارش سے تکلیف ہو یا تم بیمار ہو تو کوئی مضائقہ نہیں ہے کہ تم اپنے ہتھیاروں کو رکھ دو۔ ہاں اپنی حفاظت کا خیال رکھو (چوکنا رہو) بے شک اللہ نے کافروں کے لئے رسوا کن عذاب مہیا کر رکھا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَقُعُودًۭا
and sitting,
وَعَلَىٰ
and on
جُنُوبِكُمْ
your sides,
ۚ
فَإِذَا
and whenever
ٱطْمَأْنَنتُمْ
you are at peace
فَأَقِيمُوا۟
then establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
the assembly;
ۚ
إِنَّ
surely
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
the assembly
كَانَتْ
has been
عَلَى
upon
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
the convinced ones
كِتَٰبًۭا
ordained to be carried out
مَّوْقُوتًۭا
periodically.
٤
١٠٣
فَإِذَا قَضَيْتُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمًۭا وَقُعُودًۭا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِكُمْ ۚ فَإِذَا ٱطْمَأْنَنتُمْ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَٰبًۭا مَّوْقُوتًۭا Thus whenever you finalize the assembly then be in remembrance of the One, standing, and sitting, and on your sides, and whenever you are at peace then establish the assembly; surely the assembly has been upon the convinced ones ordained to be carried out periodically.

When ye have performed the act of worship, remember Allah, standing, sitting and reclining. And when ye are in safety, observe proper worship. Worship at fixed times hath been enjoined on the believers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When you have finished the prayers, remember Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down, and when you feel secure, perform the [complete] prayers, for the prayer is indeed a timed prescription for the faithful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Relent not in pursuit of the enemy. If ye are suffering, lo! they suffer even as ye suffer and ye hope from Allah that for which they cannot hope. Allah is ever Knower, Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And seek pardon of the One; assuredly the One has been pardoning, merciful.

They seek to hide from men and seek not to hide from Allah. He is with them when by night they hold discourse displeasing unto Him. Allah ever surroundeth what they do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They try to hide [their real character] from people, but they do not try to hide from Allah, though He is with them when they conspire overnight with a discourse that He does not approve of. And Allah comprehends whatever they do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

They hide their sins from other people but they cannot hide themselves from God who is constantly with them, even when they hold nocturnal meetings, a thing which God does not like. God comprehends all that they do. - Sarwar, Muhammad
