وَإِذَا

٨٣

وَإِذَا جَآءَهُمْ أَمْرٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْنِ أَوِ ٱلْخَوْفِ أَذَاعُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ وَلَوْ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ وَإِلَىٰٓ أُو۟لِى ٱلْأَمْرِ مِنْهُمْ لَعَلِمَهُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥ مِنْهُمْ ۗ وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَٱتَّبَعْتُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

⦿

And if any tidings, whether of safety or fear, come unto them, they noise it abroad, whereas if they had referred it to the messenger and to such of them as are in authority, those among them who are able to think out the matter would have known it. If it had not been for the grace of Allah upon you and His mercy ye would have followed Satan, save a few (of you).

When a report of safety or alarm comes to them, they immediately broadcast it; but had they referred it to the Apostle or to those vested with authority among them, those of them who investigate would have ascertained it. And were it not for Allah]s grace upon you and His mercy, you would have surely followed Satan, [all] except a few.

When they receive any news of peace or war, they announce it in public. Had they told it to the Messenger or to their (qualified) leaders, they could have used that information more properly. Were it not for the favor and mercy of God, all but a few of them would have followed Satan.

And when there comes to them news of security or fear they spread it abroad; and if they had referred it to the Apostle and to those in authority among them, those among them who can search out the knowledge of it would have known it, and were it not for the grace of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have certainly followed the Shaitan save a few

When they hear any news, whether of peace or of something fearful, they spread it about; whereas if they referred it to the Messenger and to the men in charge, those of them who would have investigated it and could have arrived at the truth of the matter. But for God's grace and mercy, all but a few of you would have followed Satan.

اور جب ان کے پاس امن یا خوف کی خبر آتی ہے تو فورا نشر کردیتے ہیں حالانکہ اگر رسول اور صاحبانِ امر کی طرف پلٹا دیتے تو ان سے استفادہ کرنے والے حقیقت حال کا علم پیدا کرلیتے اور اگر تم لوگوں پر خدا کا فضل اور ا سکی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو چند افراد کے علاوہ سب شیطان کا اتباع کرلیتے

یہ لوگ جہاں کوئی اطمینان بخش یا خوفناک خبر سن پاتے ہیں اُسے لے کر پھیلا دیتے ہیں، حالانکہ اگر یہ اُسے رسول اور اپنی جماعت کے ذمہ دار اصحاب تک پہنچائیں تو وہ ایسے لوگوں کے علم میں آ جائے جو اِن کے درمیان اس بات کی صلاحیت رکھتے ہیں کہ اس سے صحیح نتیجہ اخذ کرسکیں تم لوگوں پر اللہ کی مہربانی اور رحمت نہ ہوتی تو (تمہاری کمزوریاں ایسی تھیں کہ) معدودے چند کے سوا تم سب شیطان کے پیچھے لگ گئے ہوتے

اور جب ان کے پاس کوئی بات اطمینان یا ڈر کی آتی ہے اس کا چرچا کر بیٹھتے ہیں اور اگر اس میں رسول اور اپنے ذی اختیار لوگوں کی طرف رجوع لاتے تو ضرور اُن سے اُ س کی حقیقت جان لیتے یہ جو بعد میں کاوش کرتے ہیں اور اگر تم پر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو ضرور تم شیطان کے پیچھے لگ جاتے مگر تھوڑے

اور جب ان کے پاس امن یا خوف کی کوئی بات پہنچتی ہے تو اسے پھیلا دیتے ہیں حالانکہ اگر وہ اسے رسول اور اولی الامر کی طرف لوٹاتے تو (حقیقت کو) وہ لوگ جان لیتے جو استنباط کی صلاحیت رکھتے ہیں۔ اور اگر تم پر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی، تو چند آدمیوں کے سوا باقی شیطان کی پیروی کرنے لگ جاتے۔

فَقَٰتِلْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُكَلَّفُ إِلَّا نَفْسَكَ ۚ وَحَرِّضِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۖ عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَكُفَّ بَأْسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ أَشَدُّ بَأْسًۭا وَأَشَدُّ تَنكِيلًۭا

So fight (O Muhammad) in the way of Allah Thou art not taxed (with the responsibility for anyone) except thyself - and urge on the believers. Peradventure Allah will restrain the might of those who disbelieve. Allah is stronger in might and stronger in inflicting punishment.

⦿

So fight in the way of Allah: you are responsible only for yourself, but urge on the faithful [to fight]. Maybe Allah will curb the might of the faithless, for Allah is greatest in might and severest in punishment.

⦿

Thus, (Muhammad), fight for the cause of God. You are only responsible for yourself. Rouse the believers and perhaps God will stop the evil designs of the unbelievers. God's punishment and retribution is the most severe.

Fight then in Allah's way; this is not imposed on you except In relation to yourself, and rouse the believers to ardor maybe Allah will restrain the fighting of those who disbelieve and Allah is strongest in prowess and strongest to give an exemplary punishment.

So fight for the cause of God. You are responsible only for yourself. Urge on the believers. God may fend off the power [violence] of those who deny the truth, for He is stronger in might and stronger in inflicting punishment.

پس اے نبیؐ! تم اللہ کی راہ میں لڑو، تم اپنی ذات کے سوا کسی اور کے لیے ذمہ دار نہیں ہو البتہ اہل ایما ن کو لڑنے کے لیے اکساؤ، بعید نہیں کہ اللہ کافروں کا زور توڑ دے، اللہ کا زور سب سے زیادہ زبردست اور اس کی سزا سب سے زیادہ سخت ہے

⦿

تو اے محبوب اللہ کی راہ میں لڑو تم تکلیف نہ دیئے جاؤ گے مگر اپنے دم کی اور مسلمانوں کو آمادہ کرو قریب ہے کہ اللہ کافروں کی سختی روک دے اور اللہ کی آنچ (جنگی طاقت) سب سے سخت تر ہے اور اس کا عذاب سب سے کڑا (زبردست)

تو آپ(ص) اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کریں۔ آپ پر ذمہ داری نہیں ڈالی جاتی۔ سوائے اپنی ذات کے اور اہل ایمان کو (جہاد پر) آمادہ کریں۔ امید ہے کہ اللہ کافروں کا زور روک دے اور اللہ کا زور زبردست اور اس کی سزا بہت سخت ہے۔

مَّن يَشْفَعْ شَفَٰعَةً حَسَنَةًۭ يَكُن لَّهُۥ نَصِيبٌۭ مِّنْهَا ۖ وَمَن يَشْفَعْ شَفَٰعَةًۭ سَيِّئَةًۭ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كِفْلٌۭ مِّنْهَا ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ مُّقِيتًۭا

⦿

Whoso interveneth in a good cause will have the reward thereof, and whoso interveneth in an evil cause will bear the consequence thereof. Allah overseeth all things.

⦿

Whoever intercedes for a good cause shall receive a share of it, and whoever intercedes for an evil cause shall share its burden, and Allah is prepotent over all things.

⦿

Whoever intercedes for a good purpose will receive his share of the reward but the intercession for an evil purpose only adds more to one's burden. God has control over all things.

Whoever joins himself (to another) in a good cause shall have a share of it, and whoever joins himself (to another) in an evil cause shall have the responsibility of it, and Allah controls all things.

جو بھلائی کی سفارش کریگا وہ اس میں سے حصہ پائے گا اور جو برائی کی سفارش کرے گا وہ اس میں سے حصہ پائے گا، اور اللہ ہر چیز پر نظر رکھنے والا ہے

جو اچھی سفارش کرے اس کے لئے اس میں سے حصہ ہے اور جو بری سفارش کرے اس کے لئے اس میں سے حصہ ہے اور اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے،

اور جو اچھی سفارش کرے گا۔ اسے اس میں سے حصہ ملے گا اور جو کوئی بری سفارش کرے گا۔ اسے بھی اس کا حصہ (وزر و بال) ملے گا۔ اور اللہ ہر شی پر قدرت رکھنے والا ہے۔

The Weak [ 4:86 ] النساء

وَإِذَا

And whenever

حُيِّيتُم

you are signalled

بِتَحِيَّةٍۢ

with peace,

فَحَيُّوا۟

then signal back

بِأَحْسَنَ

with better

مِنْهَآ

of it

أَوْ

رُدُّوهَآ

reciprocate it;

إِنَّ

assuredly

ٱللَّهَ

the One

كَانَ

has been

عَلَىٰ

over

كُلِّ

all

شَىْءٍ

things

حَسِيبًا

calculative.

٨٦

وَإِذَا حُيِّيتُم بِتَحِيَّةٍۢ فَحَيُّوا۟ بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْهَآ أَوْ رُدُّوهَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَسِيبًا

And whenever you are signalled with peace, then signal back with better of it or reciprocate it; assuredly the One has been over all things calculative.

When ye are greeted with a greeting, greet ye with a better than it or return it. Lo! Allah taketh count of all things.

When you are greeted with a salute, greet with a better one than it, or return it; indeed Allah takes account of all things.

Answer a greeting in kinder words than those said to you in the greeting or at least as kind. God keeps account of all things.

اور جب کوئی احترام کے ساتھ تمہیں سلام کرے تو اس کو اس سے بہتر طریقہ کے ساتھ جواب دو یا کم از کم اُسی طرح، اللہ ہر چیز کا حساب لینے والا ہے

اور جب تمہیں کوئی کسی لفظ سے سلام کرے تو اس سے بہتر لفظ جواب میں کہو یا یا وہی کہہ دو، بیشک اللہ ہر چیز پر حساب لینے والا ہے

اور جب تمہیں سلام کیا جائے (یا کوئی تحفہ پیش کیا جائے) تو اس سے بہتر طریقہ پر جواب دو۔ یا (کم از کم) اسی کو لوٹادو۔ بے شک اللہ ہر چیز کا محاسبہ کرنے والا ہے۔

The Weak [ 4:87 ] النساء

ٱللَّهُ

The One

لَآ

إِلَٰهَ

unchallenged master

إِلَّا

لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ

He is to collect you altogether

إِلَىٰ

towards

يَوْمِ

day of

ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ

the establishment

لَا

رَيْبَ

doubt

فِيهِ

is in it!

وَمَنْ

And who is

أَصْدَقُ

truer

مِنَ

as compared to

ٱللَّهِ

the One

حَدِيثًۭا

at providing a hadith (narration)?

٨٧

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۗ وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ حَدِيثًۭا

The One — no unchallenged master except Him — He is to collect you altogether towards day of the establishment no doubt is in it! And who is truer as compared to the One at providing a hadith (narration)?

⦿

Allah! There is no Allah save Him. He gathereth you all unto a Day of Resurrection whereof there is no doubt. Who is more true in statement than Allah?

Allah—there is no god except Him—will surely gather you on the Day of Resurrection, in which there is no doubt; and who is more truthful in speech than Allah?

God exists. He is the only Lord. He will gather you all together on the Day of Judgment which will certainly come. Who is more truthful than God?

Allah, there is no god but He-- He will most certainly gather you together on the resurrection day, there is no doubt in it; and who is more true in word than Allah?

He is God: there is no deity other than Him. He will gather you all together on the Day of Resurrection, there is no doubt about it. Whose word can be truer than God's?

اللہ وہ خدا ہے جس کے علاوہ کوئی معبود نہیں ہے- وہ تم سب کو روزِ قیامت جمع کرے گا اور اس میں کوئی شک نہیں ہے اور اللہ سے زیادہ سچی بات کون کرنے والا ہے

ا لله کہ اس کے سوا کسی کی بندگی نہیں اور وہ ضرور تمہیں اکٹھا کرے گا قیامت کے دن جس میں کچھ شک نہیں اور اللہ سے زیادہ کس کی بات سچی

اللہ وہ ہے جس کے سوا کوئی الٰہ نہیں ہے۔ وہ ضرور تمہیں قیامت کے دن اکٹھا کرے گا۔ جس میں کوئی شک نہیں ہے اور اللہ سے بڑھ کر کون بات میں سچا ہے۔

فَمَا لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ فِئَتَيْنِ وَٱللَّهُ أَرْكَسَهُم بِمَا كَسَبُوٓا۟ ۚ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَن تَهْدُوا۟ مَنْ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّهُ ۖ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلًۭا

What aileth you that ye are become two parties regarding the hypocrites, when Allah cast them back (to disbelief) because of what they earned? Seek ye to guide him whom Allah hath sent astray? He whom Allah sendeth astray, for him thou (O MUhammad) canst not find a road.

Why should you be two groups concerning the hypocrites, while Allah has made them relapse [into unfaith] because of their deeds? Do you desire to guide someone Allah has led astray? Whomever Allah leads astray, you will never find any way for him.

Why are you divided into two different parties concerning the hypocrites, when God Himself has turned them to disbelief because of their misdeeds. Do you want to guide those whom God has caused to go astray? You cannot find guidance for those whom God has made to err.

What is the matter with you, then, that you have become two parties about the hypocrites, while Allah has made them return (to unbelief) for what they have earned? Do you wish to guide him whom Allah has caused to err? And whomsoever Allah causes to err, you shall by no means find a way for him.

How is it that you are divided into two groups regarding the hypocrites, when God Himself cast them back [to disbelief] because of their misdeeds? Do you seek to guide those whom God allows to go astray? You cannot guide those whom God allows to go astray.

آخر تمہیں کیا ہوگیا ہے کہ منافقین کے بارے میں دو گروہ ہوگئے ہو جب کہ اللہ نے ان کے اعمال کی بنا پر انہیں اُلٹ دیا ہے کیا تم اسے ہدایت دینا چاہتے ہو خدا نے جسے گمراہی پر چھوڑ دیا ہے- حالانکہ جسے خدا گمراہی میں چھوڑ دے اس کے لئے تم کوئی راستہ نہیں نکال سکتے

پھر یہ تمہیں کیا ہو گیا ہے کہ منافقین کے بارے میں تمہارے درمیان دو رائیں پائی جاتی ہیں، حالانکہ جو برائیاں اُنہوں نے کمائی ہیں اُن کی بدولت اللہ انہیں الٹا پھیر چکا ہے کیا تم چاہتے ہو کہ جسے اللہ نے ہدایت نہیں بخشی اُسے تم ہدایت بخش دو؟ حالانکہ جس کو اللہ نے راستہ سے ہٹا دیا اُس کے لیے تم کوئی راستہ نہیں پاسکتے

تو تمہیں کیا ہوا کہ منافقوں کے بارے میں دو فریق ہوگئے اور اللہ نے انہیں اوندھا کردیا ان کے کوتکوں (کرتوتوں) کے سبب کیا یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ اسے راہ دکھاؤ جسے اللہ نے گمراہ کیا اور جسے اللہ گمراہ کرے تو ہرگز اس کے لئے راہ نہ پائے گا،

تمہیں کیا ہوگیا ہے کہ تم منافقین کے بارے میں دو گروہ ہوگئے ہو۔ حالانکہ اللہ نے انہیں ان کے کرتوتوں کی وجہ سے (ان کے کفر کی طرف) الٹا پھیر دیا ہے۔ کیا تم چاہتے ہو کہ اسے ہدایت دو جس سے اس کی بدعملی کی وجہ سے خدا نے توفیق ہدایت سلب کر لی ہے۔ اور جس سے اللہ توفیق ہدایت سلب کرے، تم اس کے لیے (ہدایت کا) راستہ نہیں پاؤگے۔

وَدُّوا۟ لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُوا۟ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَآءًۭ ۖ فَلَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءَ حَتَّىٰ يُهَاجِرُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَخُذُوهُمْ وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ وَلِيًّۭا وَلَا نَصِيرًا

They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them,

They are eager that you should disbelieve like they have disbelieved, so that you all become alike. So do not make friends [with anyone] from among them, until they migrate in the way of Allah. But if they turn their backs, seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and do not take from among them friends or helpers,

They wish you to become unbelievers as they themselves are. Do not establish friendship with them until they have abandoned their homes for the cause of God. If they betray you, seize them and slay them wherever you find them. Do not establish friendship with them or seek their help

وہ تو یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ جس طرح وہ خود کافر ہیں اسی طرح تم بھی کافر ہو جاؤ تاکہ تم اور وہ سب یکساں ہو جائیں لہٰذا ان میں سے کسی کو اپنا دوست نہ بناؤ جب تک کہ وہ اللہ کی راہ میں ہجرت کر کے نہ آ جائیں، اور اگر وہ ہجرت سے باز رہیں تو جہاں پاؤ انہیں پکڑو اور قتل کرو اور ان میں سے کسی کو اپنا دوست اور مددگار نہ بناؤ

Except those who seek refuge with a people between whom and you there is a covenant, or (those who) come unto you because their hearts forbid them to make war on you or make war on their own folk. Had Allah willed He could have given them power over you so that assuredly they would have fought you. So, if they hold aloof from you and wage not war against you and offer you peace, Allah alloweth you no way against them.

excepting those who join a people between whom and you there is a treaty, or such as come to you with hearts reluctant to fight you, or to fight their own people. Had Allah wished, He would have imposed them upon you, and then they would have surely fought you. So if they keep out of your way and do not fight you, and offer you peace, then Allah does not allow you any course [of action] against them.

except with those who attach themselves to your allies or come to you with no desire to fight you or their own people. God could have given them power to fight you. Thus, if they retreat, stop fighting and come forward expressing faith in Islam God will not allow you to fight them.

Except those who reach a people between whom and you there is an alliance, or who come to you, their hearts shrinking from fighting you or fighting their own people; and if Allah had pleased, He would have given them power over you, so that they should have certainly fought you; therefore if they withdraw from you and do not fight you and offer you peace, then Allah has not given you a way against them.

But make an exception of those who seek refuge with people with whom you have a treaty, or who come over to you because their hearts forbid them to fight against you or against their own people. Had God pleased, He would have given them power over you, so that they would have taken up arms against you. Therefore, if they keep away from you and cease their hostility and propose peace to you, God does not allow you to harm them.

علاوہ ان کے جو کسی ایسی قوم سے مل جائیں جن کے اور تمہارے درمیان معاہدہ ہو یا وہ تمہارے پاس دل تنگ ہوکر آجائیں کہ نہ تم سے جنگ کریں گے اور نہ اپنی قوم سے- اور اگر خدا چاہتا تو ان کو تمہارے اوپر مسلّط کردیتا اور وہ تم سے بھی جنگ کرتے لہذا اگر تم سے الگ رہیں اور جنگ نہ کریں اور صلح کا پیغام دیں تو خدا نے تمہارے لئے ان کے اوپر کوئی راہ نہیں قرار دی ہے

البتہ و ہ منافق اس حکم سے مستثنیٰ ہیں جو کسی ایسی قوم سے جا ملیں جس کے ساتھ تمہارا معاہدہ ہے اسی طرح وہ منافق بھی مستثنیٰ ہیں جو تمہارے پاس آتے ہیں اور لڑائی سے دل برداشتہ ہیں، نہ تم سے لڑنا چاہتے ہیں نہ اپنی قوم سے اللہ چاہتا تو ان کو تم پر مسلط کر دیتا اور وہ بھی تم سے لڑتے لہٰذا اگر وہ تم سے کنارہ کش ہو جائیں اور لڑنے سے باز رہیں اور تمہاری طرف صلح و آشتی کا ہاتھ بڑھائیں تو اللہ نے تمہارے لیے ان پر دست درازی کی کوئی سبیل نہیں رکھی ہے

مگر جو ایسی قوم سے علاقے رکھتے ہیں کہ تم میں ان میں معاہدہ ہے یا تمہارے پاس یوں آئے کہ ان کے دلوں میں سکت نہ رہی کہ تم سے لڑیں یا اپنی قوم سے لڑیں اور اللہ چاہتا تو ضرور انہیں تم پر قابو دیتا تو وہ بے شک تم سے لڑتے پھر اگر وہ تم سے کنارہ کریں اور نہ لڑیں اور صلح کا پیام ڈالیں تو اللہ نے تمہیں ان پر کوئی راہ نہ رکھی

سوا ان کے جو ان لوگوں سے جا ملیں جن کے اور تمہارے درمیان (جنگ نہ کرنے کا) معاہدہ ہے یا اس حالت میں تمہارے پاس آئیں کہ ان کے سینے (دل) میں تمہارے ساتھ یا اپنی قوم کے ساتھ جنگ کرنے سے تنگ آچکے ہوں (ایسے منافق قتل کے اس حکم سے مستثنیٰ ہیں) اگر خدا چاہتا تو ان کو تم پر مسلط کر دیتا اور وہ ضرور تم سے لڑتے تو پھر اگر وہ تم سے کنارہ کشی کر لیں اور تمہارے ساتھ جنگ نہ کریں اور صلح کا پیغام بھیجیں تو اللہ نے تمہارے لئے ان کے خلاف کوئی قدم اٹھانے کی کوئی راہ نہیں رکھی ہے۔

سَتَجِدُونَ ءَاخَرِينَ يُرِيدُونَ أَن يَأْمَنُوكُمْ وَيَأْمَنُوا۟ قَوْمَهُمْ كُلَّ مَا رُدُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلْفِتْنَةِ أُرْكِسُوا۟ فِيهَا ۚ فَإِن لَّمْ يَعْتَزِلُوكُمْ وَيُلْقُوٓا۟ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَمَ وَيَكُفُّوٓا۟ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَخُذُوهُمْ وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ ۚ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكُمْ جَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰنًۭا مُّبِينًۭا

Ye will find others who desire that they should have security from you, and security from their own folk. So often as they are returned to hostility they are plunged therein. If they keep not aloof from you nor offer you peace nor hold their hands, then take them and kill them wherever ye find them. Against such We have given you clear warrant.

You will find others desiring to be secure from you, and secure from their own people; yet whenever they are called back to polytheism, they relapse into it. So if they do not keep out of your way, nor offer you peace, nor keep their hands off [from fighting], then seize them and kill them wherever you confront them, and it is such against whom We have given you a clear sanction.

You will soon find others who seek security from you as well as from their own people, but when they are invited to return to idol worship, they do so enthusiastically. Thus, if they do not keep away from you nor come forward with a peace proposal nor desist from harming you, apprehend and slay them wherever you find them, for We have given you full control over them.

You will find others who desire that they should be safe from you and secure from their own people; as often as they are sent back to the mischief they get thrown into it headlong; therefore if they do not withdraw from you, and (do not) offer you peace and restrain their hands, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them; and against these We have given you a clear authority.

عنقریب تم ایک اور جماعت کو پاؤ گے جو چاہتے ہیں کہ تم سے بھی محفوظ رہیں اور اپنی قوم سے بھی- یہ جب بھی فتنہ کی طرف بلائے جاتے ہیں الٹے اس میں اوندھے منہ گر پڑتے ہیں لہذا یہ اگر تم سے الگ نہ ہوں اور صلح کا پیغام نہ دیں اور ہاتھ نہ روکیں تو انہیں گرفتار کرلو اور جہاں پاؤ قتل کردو یہی وہ ہیں کہ جن پر تمہیں کھلا غلبہ عطا کیا گیا ہے

ایک اور قسم کے منافق تمہیں ایسے ملیں گے جو چاہتے ہیں کہ تم سے بھی امن میں رہیں اور اپنی قوم سے بھی، مگر جب کبھی فتنہ کا موقع پائیں گے اس میں کود پڑیں گے ایسے لوگ اگر تمہارے مقابلہ سے باز نہ رہیں اور صلح و سلامتی تمہارے آگے پیش نہ کریں اور اپنے ہاتھ نہ روکیں تو جہاں وہ ملیں انہیں پکڑو اور مارو، ان پر ہاتھ اٹھانے کے لیے ہم نے تمہیں کھلی حجت دے دی ہے

اب کچھ اور تم ایسے پاؤ گے جو یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ تم سے بھی امان میں رہیں اور اپنی قوم سے بھی امان میں رہیں جب کبھی انکی قوم انہیں فساد کی طرف پھیرے تو اس پر اوندھے گرتے ہیں پھر اگر وہ تم سے کنارہ نہ کریں اور صلح کی گردن نہ ڈالیں اور اپنے ہاتھ سے نہ روکیں تو انہیں پکڑو اور جہاں پاؤ قتل کرو، اور یہ ہیں جن پر ہم نے تمہیں صریح اختیار دیا

عنقریب تم کچھ ایسے لوگ (منافق) پاؤگے۔ جو چاہتے ہیں کہ تم سے بھی امن میں رہیں اور اپنی قوم سے بھی امن میں رہیں لیکن جب وہ کبھی فتنہ و فساد کی طرف بلائے جاتے ہیں تو اندھے منہ اس میں جا پڑتے ہیں۔ لہٰذا اگر یہ لوگ تم سے کنارہ کشی نہ کریں اور تمہاری طرف صلح و آشتی کا ہاتھ نہ بڑھائیں اور اپنے ہاتھ نہ روکیں تو پھر انہیں پکڑو۔ اور جہاں کہیں انہیں پاؤ۔ قتل کرو۔ یہی وہ لوگ ہیں! جن پر ہم نے تمہیں کھلا غلبہ عطا کیا ہے۔

by mistake;

وَمَن

and whoever

قَتَلَ

killed

مُؤْمِنًا

a momin

خَطَـًۭٔا

by mistake,

فَتَحْرِيرُ

then write off

رَقَبَةٍۢ

(debt around) neck of

مُّؤْمِنَةٍۢ

a believing person,

وَدِيَةٌۭ

and compensation

مُّسَلَّمَةٌ

that is accepted

إِلَىٰٓ

أَهْلِهِۦٓ

his (the killed person's) family

إِلَّآ

except

أَن

that

يَصَّدَّقُوا۟

they write it off;

فَإِن

thus if

كَانَ

was

مِن

from

قَوْمٍ

a nation of

عَدُوٍّۢ

enemy

لَّكُمْ

for you,

وَهُوَ

and he was

مُؤْمِنٌۭ

a momin,

فَتَحْرِيرُ

then set free

رَقَبَةٍۢ

(debt around) neck of

مُّؤْمِنَةٍۢ

a believing person;

وَإِن

and if

كَانَ

was

مِن

from

قَوْمٍۭ

a nation (where)

بَيْنَكُمْ

between you

وَبَيْنَهُم

and between them

مِّيثَٰقٌۭ

was a treaty,

فَدِيَةٌۭ

then a compensation

مُّسَلَّمَةٌ

that is accepted

إِلَىٰٓ

أَهْلِهِۦ

his (the killed person's) family,

وَتَحْرِيرُ

and setting free

رَقَبَةٍۢ

(debt around) neck of

مُّؤْمِنَةٍۢ

a believing person;

فَمَن

then whoever

لَّمْ

can not

يَجِدْ

find (the means)

فَصِيَامُ

thus train for resistance

شَهْرَيْنِ

for two seasons

مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ

consecutively

تَوْبَةًۭ

as penance

مِّنَ

from

ٱللَّهِ

the One;

وَكَانَ

and Has been

ٱللَّهُ

the One

عَلِيمًا

knowledgeful,

حَكِيمًۭا

wise.

وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَن يَقْتُلَ مُؤْمِنًا إِلَّا خَطَـًۭٔا ۚ وَمَن قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا خَطَـًۭٔا فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍۢ مُّؤْمِنَةٍۢ وَدِيَةٌۭ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَصَّدَّقُوا۟ ۚ فَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍ عَدُوٍّۢ لَّكُمْ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌۭ فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍۢ مُّؤْمِنَةٍۢ ۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍۭ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَٰقٌۭ فَدِيَةٌۭ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ وَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍۢ مُّؤْمِنَةٍۢ ۖ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ تَوْبَةًۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًۭا

And not was for a momin that he kills a momin except by mistake; and whoever killed a momin by mistake, then write off (debt around) neck of a believing person, and compensation that is accepted to his (the killed person's) family except that they write it off; thus if was from a nation of enemy for you, and he was a momin, then set free (debt around) neck of a believing person; and if was from a nation (where) between you and between them was a treaty, then a compensation that is accepted to his (the killed person's) family, and setting free (debt around) neck of a believing person; then whoever can not find (the means) thus train for resistance for two seasons consecutively as penance from the One; and Has been the One knowledgeful, wise.

It is not for a believer to kill a believer unless (it be) by mistake. He who hath killed a believer by mistake must set free a believing slave, and pay the blood-money to the family of the slain, unless they remit it as a charity. If he (the victim) be of a people hostile unto you, and he is a believer, then (the penance is) to set free a believing slave. And if he cometh of a folk between whom and you there is a covenant, then the blood-money must be paid unto his folk and (also) a believing slave must be set free. And whoso hath not the wherewithal must fast two consecutive months. A penance from Allah. Allah is Knower, Wise.

A believer cannot slay another believer except by mistake for which the retaliation is to set free a believing slave and pay the appointed blood money to the relatives of the deceased unless the relatives wave aside the payment. If the person slain is from your enemies but himself is a believer, the penalty is to set free a believing slave. If the person slain is one of those with whom you have a peace treaty, the penalty is the same as that for a slain believer. If this is not possible, the defendant has to fast for two consecutive months, asking God to accept his repentance. He is All-knowing and All-wise.

And it does not behoove a believer to kill a believer except by mistake, and whoever kills a believer by mistake, he should free a believing slave, and blood-money should be paid to his people unless they remit it as alms; but if he be from a tribe hostile to you and he is a believer, the freeing of a believing slave (suffices), and if he is from a tribe between whom and you there is a convenant, the blood-money should be paid to his people along with the freeing of a believing slave; but he who cannot find (a slave) should fast for two months successively: a penance from Allah, and Allah is Knowing, Wise.

اور کسی مومن کو یہ حق نہیں ہے کہ وہ کسی مومن کو قتل کردے مگر غلطی سے اور جو غلطی سے قتل کردے اسے چاہئے کہ ایک غلام آزاد کرے اور مقتول کے وارثوں کو دیت دے مگر یہ کہ وہ معاف کردیں پھر اگر مقتول ایسی قوم سے ہے جو تمہاری دشمن ہے اور(اتفاق سے) خود مومن ہے تو صرف غلام آزاد کرنا ہوگا اور اگر ایسی قوم کا فرد ہے جس کا تم سے معاہدہ ہے تو اس کے اہل کو دیت دینا پڑے گی اور ایک مومن غلام آزاد کرنا ہوگا اور غلام نہ ملے تو دو ماہ کے مسلسل روزے رکھنا ہوں گے یہی اللہ کی طرف سے توبہ کا راستہ ہے اور اللہ سب کی نیتوں سے باخبر ہے اور اپنے احکام میں صاحب هحکمت بھی ہے

کسی مومن کا یہ کام نہیں ہے کہ دوسرے مومن کو قتل کرے، الا یہ کہ اُس سے چوک ہو جائے، اور جو شخص کسی مومن کو غلطی سے قتل کر دے تو اس کا کفارہ یہ ہے کہ ایک مومن کو غلامی سے آزاد کرے اور مقتول کے وارثوں کو خونبہا دے، الا یہ کہ وہ خونبہا معاف کر دیں لیکن اگر وہ مسلمان مقتول کسی ایسی قوم سے تھا جس سے تمہاری دشمنی ہو تو اس کا کفارہ ایک مومن غلام آزاد کرنا ہے اور اگر وہ کسی ایسی غیرمسلم قوم کا فرد تھا جس سے تمہارا معاہدہ ہو تو اس کے وارثوں کو خون بہا دیا جائے گا اور ایک مومن غلام کو آزاد کرنا ہوگا پھر جو غلام نہ پائے وہ پے در پے دو مہینے کے روزے رکھے یہ اِس گناہ پر اللہ سے توبہ کرنے کا طریقہ ہے اور اللہ علیم و دانا ہے

اور مسلمانوں کو نہیں پہنچتا کہ مسلمان کا خون کرے مگر ہاتھ بہک کر اور جو کسی مسلمان کو نادانستہ قتل کرے تو اس پر ایک مملوک مسلمان کا آزاد کرنا ہے اور خون بہا کر مقتول کے لوگوں کو سپرد کی جائے مگر یہ کہ وہ معاف کردیں پھر اگر وہ اس قوم سے ہو جو تمہاری دشمن ہے اور خود مسلمان ہے تو صرف ایک مملوک مسلمان کا آزاد کرنا اور اگر وہ اس قوم میں ہو کہ تم میں ان میں معاہدہ ہے تو اس کے لوگوں کو خوں بہا سپرد کیا جائے اور ایک مسلمان مملوک آزاد کرنا تو جس کا ہاتھ نہ پہنچے وہ لگاتار دو مہینے کے روزے یہ اللہ کے یہاں اس کی توبہ ہے اور اللہ جاننے والا حکمت والا ہے،

کسی مسلمان کے لئے روا نہیں ہے کہ وہ کسی مسلمان کو قتل کرے مگر غلطی سے۔ اور جو کوئی کسی مؤمن کو غلطی سے قتل کرے (تو اس کا کفارہ یہ ہے کہ) ایک مؤمن غلام آزاد کیا جائے اور خون بہا اس کے گھر والوں (وارثوں) کو ادا کیا جائے، مگر یہ کہ وہ لوگ خود (خون بہا) معاف کر دیں۔ پھر اگر مقتول تمہاری دشمن قوم سے تعلق رکھتا ہو، مگر وہ خود مسلمان ہو تو پھر (اس کا کفارہ) ایک مؤمن غلام کا آزاد کرنا ہے اور اگر وہ (مقتول) ایسی (غیر مسلم) قوم کا فرد ہو جس کے اور تمہارے درمیان (جنگ نہ کرنے کا) معاہدہ ہے۔ تو (کفارہ میں) ایک خون بہا اس کے وارثوں کے حوالے کیا جائے گا۔ اور ایک مسلمان غلام بھی آزاد کیا جائے گا اور جس کو (غلام) میسر نہ ہو تو وہ مسلسل دو مہینے روزے رکھے گا۔ یہ اللہ کی طرف سے (اس گناہ کی) توبہ مقرر ہے۔ خدا بڑا جاننے والا اور بڑا حکمت والا ہے۔

The Weak [ 4:93 ] النساء

وَمَن

And whoever

يَقْتُلْ

killed

مُؤْمِنًۭا

a believer

مُّتَعَمِّدًۭا

deliberately

فَجَزَآؤُهُۥ

then their payment is

جَهَنَّمُ

hell,

خَٰلِدًۭا

eternalized

فِيهَا

therein

وَغَضِبَ

and outrage of

ٱللَّهُ

the One

عَلَيْهِ

upon him,

وَلَعَنَهُۥ

and cursed is he,

وَأَعَدَّ

and prepared

لَهُۥ

for him is

عَذَابًا

a punishment

عَظِيمًۭا

that is mighty.

٩٣

وَمَن يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًۭا مُّتَعَمِّدًۭا فَجَزَآؤُهُۥ جَهَنَّمُ خَٰلِدًۭا فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَعَنَهُۥ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُۥ عَذَابًا عَظِيمًۭا

And whoever killed a believer deliberately then their payment is hell, eternalized therein and outrage of the One upon him, and cursed is he, and prepared for him is a punishment that is mighty.

Whoso slayeth a believer of set purpose, his reward is hell for ever. Allah is wroth against him and He hath cursed him and prepared for him an awful doom.

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.
