أَمْ يَحْسُدُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ عَلَىٰ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ ۖ فَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَآ ءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مُّلْكًا عَظِيمًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Or are they jealous of mankind because of that which Allah of His bounty hath bestowed upon them? For We bestowed upon the house of Abraham (of old) the Scripture and wisdom, and We bestowed on them a mighty kingdom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا سَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِمْ نَارًۭا كُلَّمَا نَضِجَتْ جُلُودُهُم بَدَّلْنَٰهُمْ جُلُودًا غَيْرَهَا لِيَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Lo! Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment. Lo! Allah is ever Mighty, Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed We shall soon make those who deny Our signs enter a Fire: as often as their skins become scorched, We shall replace them with other skins, so that they may taste the punishment. Indeed Allah is all-mighty, all-wise. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We will make the rejectors of Our revelations suffer in hell fire. As soon as the fire destroys their skins, We will give them new skins so that they may suffer more of the torment. God is Majestic and All-wise. - Sarwar, Muhammad

جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیات کو ماننے سے انکار کر دیا ہے انہیں بالیقین ہم آگ میں جھونکیں گے اور جب ان کے بدن کی کھال گل جائے گی تو اس کی جگہ دوسری کھال پیدا کر دیں گے تاکہ وہ خوب عذاب کا مزہ چکھیں، اللہ بڑی قدرت رکھتا ہے اور اپنے فیصلوں کو عمل میں لانے کی حکمت خوب جانتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَنُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا ۖ لَّهُمْ فِيهَآ أَزْوَٰجٌۭ مُّطَهَّرَةٌۭ ۖ وَنُدْخِلُهُمْ ظِلًّۭا ظَلِيلًا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And as for those who believe and do good works, We shall make them enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow - to dwell therein for ever; there for them are pure companions - and We shall make them enter plenteous shade. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, We shall admit them into gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them forever. In it, there will be chaste mates for them, and We shall admit them into a deep shade. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We will admit the righteously striving believers into the gardens wherein streams flow. They will live therein forever in a cool shade with their pure spouses. - Sarwar, Muhammad

اور جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیات کو مان لیا اور نیک عمل کیے اُن کو ہم ایسے باغوں میں داخل کریں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی، جہاں وہ ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے اور اُن کو پاکیزہ بیویاں ملیں گی اور انہیں ہم گھنی چھاؤں میں رکھیں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے عنقریب ہم انہیں باغوں میں لے جائیں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے، ان کے لیے وہاں ستھری بیبیاں ہیں اور ہم انہیں وہاں داخل کریں گے جہاں سایہ ہی سایہ ہوگا - Ahmed Raza

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کئے ہم عنقریب ان کو ان بہشتوں میں داخل کریں گے جن کے نیچے سے نہریں جاری ہوں گی اور وہ ان میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے۔ ان کے لئے وہاں پاک و پاکیزہ بیویاں ہوں گی اور ہم انہیں (اپنی رحمت) کے گنجان سایہ (گھنی چھاؤں) میں اتاریں گے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Lo! Allah commandeth you that ye restore deposits to their owners, and, if ye judge between mankind, that ye judge justly. Lo! comely is this which Allah admonisheth you. Lo! Allah is ever Hearer, Seer. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed Allah commands you to deliver the trusts to their [rightful] owners, and to judge with fairness when you judge between people. Excellent indeed is what Allah advises you. Indeed Allah is all-hearing, all-seeing. - Qarai, Ali Quli

God commands you to return that which had been entrusted to you to the rightful owners. Be just when passing judgment among people. God's advice is the most noble. He sees and hears everything. - Sarwar, Muhammad

O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the messenger and those of you who are in authority; and if ye have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the messenger if ye are (in truth) believers in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more seemly in the end. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Hast thou not seen those who pretend that they believe in that which is revealed unto thee and that which was revealed before thee, how they would go for judgment (in their disputes) to false deities when they have been ordered to abjure them? Have you not regarded those who claim that they believe in what has been sent down to you and what was sent down before you? They desire to seek the judgment of fake deities, though they were commanded to reject them, and Satan desires to lead them astray into far error. - Qarai, Ali Quli

اے نبیؐ! تم نے دیکھا نہیں اُن لوگوں کو جو دعویٰ تو کرتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لائے ہیں اُس کتاب پر جو تمہاری طرف نازل کی گئی ہے اور ان کتابوں پر جو تم سے پہلے نازل کی گئی تھیں، مگر چاہتے یہ ہیں کہ اپنے معاملات کا فیصلہ کرانے کے لیے طاغوت کی طرف رجوع کریں، حالانکہ انہیں طاغوت سے کفر کرنے کا حکم دیا گیا تھا شیطان انہیں بھٹکا کر راہ راست سے بہت دور لے جانا چاہتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And when it is said unto them: Come unto that which Allah hath revealed and unto the messenger, thou seest the hypocrites turn from thee with aversion. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When they are told, [Come to what Allah has sent down and [come] to the Apostle,] you see the hypocrites keep away from you aversely. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When the (hypocrites) are told to refer to God's revelations and to the Messenger, they try to find excuses to stay away from you (Muhammad). - Sarwar, Muhammad

فَكَيْفَ إِذَآ أَصَٰبَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ جَآءُوكَ يَحْلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَدْنَآ إِلَّآ إِحْسَٰنًۭا وَتَوْفِيقًا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

How would it be if a misfortune smote them because of that which their own hands have sent before (them)? Then would they come unto thee, swearing by Allah that they were seeking naught but harmony and kindness. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But how will it be when an affliction visits them because of what their hands have sent ahead? Then they will come to you, swearing by Allah, [We desired nothing but to do good and to bring about comity.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

What would happen if they were to be afflicted by a disaster brought about by their own hands? They would then come to you swearing by God, [We only wanted to bring about friendship and reconciliation.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

But how will it be when misfortune befalls them on account of what their hands have sent before? Then they will come to you swearing by Allah: We did not desire (anything) but good and concord. - Shakir, Habib

How will it be when an affliction befalls them because of what they themselves have done? They will come to you, swearing by God, saying that they were seeking nothing but goodwill and conciliation. - Wahiduddin Khan

پس اس وقت کیا ہوگا جب ان پر ان کے اعمال کی بنا پر مصیبت نازل ہوگی اور وہ آپ کے پاس آکر خدا کی قسم کھائیں گے کہ ہمارا مقصد صرف نیکی کرنا اور اتحاد پیدا کرنا تھا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر اس وقت کیا ہوتا ہے جب اِن کے اپنے ہاتھوں کی لائی ہوئی مصیبت ان پر آ پڑتی ہے؟ اُس وقت یہ تمہارے پاس قسمیں کھاتے ہوئے آتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ خدا کی قسم ہم تو صرف بھلائی چاہتے تھے اور ہماری نیت تو یہ تھی کہ فریقین میں کسی طرح موافقت ہو جائے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر کیسی گزرتی ہے جب ان پر کوئی مصیبت آپڑتی ہے اپنے ہاتھوں کی لائی ہوئی (ان کے کرتوتوں کی وجہ سے) تو آپ کی خدمت میں اللہ کے نام کی قسمیں کھاتے ہوئے آتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ ہمارا مقصد تو بھلائی اور (فریقین میں) مصالحت کرانا تھا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

We sent no messenger save that he should be obeyed by Allah's leave. And if, when they had wronged themselves, they had but come unto thee and asked forgiveness of Allah, and asked forgiveness of the messenger, they would have found Allah Forgiving, Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

(انہیں بتاؤ کہ) ہم نے جو رسول بھی بھیجا ہے اس لیے بھیجا ہے کہ اذن خداوندی کی بنا پر اس کی اطاعت کی جائے اگر انہوں نے یہ طریقہ اختیار کیا ہوتا کہ جب یہ اپنے نفس پر ظلم کر بیٹھے تھے تو تمہارے پاس آ جاتے اور اللہ سے معافی مانگتے، اور رسول بھی ان کے لیے معافی کی درخواست کرتا، تو یقیناً اللہ کو بخشنے والا اور رحم کرنے والا پاتے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ہم نے کوئی رسول نہ بھیجا مگر اس لئے کہ اللہ کے حکم سے اس کی اطاعت کی جائے اور اگر جب وہ اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کریں تو اے محبوب! تمہارے حضور حاضر ہوں اور پھر اللہ سے معافی چاہیں اور رسول ان کی شفاعت فرمائے تو ضرور اللہ کو بہت توبہ قبول کرنے والا مہربان پائیں - Ahmed Raza

But no, by your Lord! They will not believe until they make you a judge in their disputes, then do not find within their hearts any dissent to your verdict and submit in full submission. - Qarai, Ali Quli

I swear by your Lord that they will not be considered believers until they let you judge their disputes and then they will find nothing in their souls to prevent them from accepting your judgment, thus, submitting themselves to the will of God. - Sarwar, Muhammad

But no! by your Lord! they do not believe (in reality) until they make you a judge of that which has become a matter of disagreement among them, and then do not find any straitness in their hearts as to what you have decided and submit with entire submission. - Shakir, Habib

And if We had decreed for them: Lay down your lives or go forth from your dwellings, but few of them would have done it; though if they did what they are exhorted to do it would be better for them, and more strengthening; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Had We prescribed for them, [commanding]: [Slay [the guilty among] your folks or leave your habitations,] they would not have done it except a few of them. And if they had done as they were advised, it would have been better for them and stronger in confirming [their faith]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Had We commanded them to kill themselves or abandon their homes, only a few of them would have done it. If they had done what they had been advised to do, it would have strengthened their faith, - Sarwar, Muhammad

And if We had prescribed for them: Lay down your lives or go forth from your homes, they would not have done it except a few of them; and if they had done what they were admonished, it would have certainly been better for them and best in strengthening (them); - Shakir, Habib

If We had commanded them, [Lay down your lives or leave your dwellings,] they would have not done it, save a few of them. If they had done what they were instructed to do, it would have been better for them, as well as more strengthening [for their faith], - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اگر ہم ان منافقین پر فرض کردیتے کہ اپنے کو قتل کر ڈالیں یا گھر چھوڑ کر نکل جائیں تو چند افراد کے علاوہ کوئی عمل نہ کرتا حالانکہ اگر یہ اس نصیحت پر عمل کرتے تو ان کے حق میں بہتر ہی ہوتا اور ان کو زیادہ ثبات حاصل ہوتا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اگر ہم نے انہیں حکم دیا ہوتا کہ اپنے آپ کو ہلاک کر دو یا اپنے گھروں سے نکل جاؤ تو ان میں سے کم ہی آدمی اس پر عمل کرتے حالانکہ جو نصیحت انہیں کی جاتی ہے، اگر یہ اس پر عمل کرتے تو یہ ان کے لیے زیادہ بہتری اور زیادہ ثابت قدمی کا موجب ہوتا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اگر ہم ان پر فرض کرتے کہ اپنے آپ کو قتل کردو یا اپنے گھر بار چھوڑ کر نکل جاؤ تو ان میں تھوڑے ہی ایسا کرتے، اور اگر وہ کرتے جس بات کی انہیں نصیحت دی جاتی ہے تو اس میں ان کا بھلا تھا اور ایمان پر خوب جمنا - Ahmed Raza

Among you is indeed he who drags his feet, and should an affliction visit you, he says, [It was certainly Allah]s blessing that I did not accompany them!] - Qarai, Ali Quli

There are some among you who lag behind (in battle) and if you were to experience hardship, they would say, [It was certainly due to God's favors to us that we were not present with them,] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And surely among you is he who would certainly hang back! If then a misfortune befalls you he says: Surely Allah conferred a benefit on me that I was not present with them. - Shakir, Habib

Among you are some who lag behind and if you encounter a setback, they say, [God has been gracious to me; I was not present with them.] - Wahiduddin Khan

تم میں ایسے لوگ بھی گھس گئے ہیں جو لوگوں کو روکیں گے اور اگر تم پر کوئی مصیبت آگئی تو کہیں گے کہ خد انے ہم پر احسان کیا کہ ہم ان کے ساتھ حاضر نہیں تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

وَلَئِنْ أَصَٰبَكُمْ فَضْلٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لَيَقُولَنَّ كَأَن لَّمْ تَكُنۢ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُۥ مَوَدَّةٌۭ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ مَعَهُمْ فَأَفُوزَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And if a bounty from Allah befell you, he would surely cry, as if there had been no love between you and him: Oh, would that I had been with them, then should I have achieved a great success! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But should a bounty from Allah come to you, he will say—as if there were no [tie of friendship and] affection between you and him—[I wish I were with them so that I had achieved a great success!] - Qarai, Ali Quli

but if you were to receive a favor from God, they would certainly say, [(We have been ignored) as if there was no friendship among us. Would that we had been there with them for we would have had a great success.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And if grace from Allah come to you, he would certainly cry out, as if there had not been any friendship between you and him: Would that I had been with them, then I should have attained a mighty good fortune. - Shakir, Habib

But if, by God's grace, good fortune should be your lot, they will say, [If only I had been with them I should have achieved a great success,] as if no affection had existed between you and them. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اگر تمہیں خدائی فضل و کرم مل گیا تو اس طرح جیسے تمہارے ان کے درمیان کبھی دوستی ہی نہیں تھی کہنے لگیں گے کہ کاش ہم بھی ان کے ساتھ ہوتے اور کامیابی کی عظیم منزل پر فائز ہوجاتے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اگر اللہ کی طرف سے تم پر فضل ہو تو کہتا ہے اور اس طرح کہتا ہے کہ گویا تمہارے اور اس کے درمیان محبت کا تو کوئی تعلق تھا ہی نہیں کہ کاش میں بھی ان کے ساتھ ہوتا تو بڑا کام بن جاتا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Let those who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter fight in the way of Allah; and whoever fights in the way of Allah, and then is slain, or he subdues [the enemy], We shall soon give him a great reward. - Qarai, Ali Quli

اب ضرورت ہے کہ راسِ خدا میں وہ لوگ جہاد کریں جو زندگانی دنیا کو آخرت کے عوض بیچ ڈالتے ہیں اور جو بھی راسِ خدا میں جہاد کرے گا وہ قتل ہوجائے یا غالب آجائے دونوں صورتوں میں ہم اسے اج» عظیم عطا کریں گے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

(ایسے لوگوں کو معلوم ہو کہ) اللہ کی راہ میں لڑنا چاہیے اُن لوگوں کو جو آخرت کے بدلے دنیا کی زندگی کو فروخت کر دیں، پھر جو اللہ کی راہ میں لڑے گا اور مارا جائے گا یا غالب رہے گا اُسے ضرور ہم اجر عظیم عطا کریں گے - Maududi, Abul A'ala
