إِن

إِن تَجْتَنِبُوا۟ كَبَآئِرَ مَا تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ نُكَفِّرْ عَنكُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ وَنُدْخِلْكُم مُّدْخَلًۭا كَرِيمًۭا

⦿

If ye avoid the great (things) which ye are forbidden, We will remit from you your evil deeds and make you enter at a noble gate.

If you avoid the major sins that you are forbidden, We will absolve you of your misdeeds and admit you to a noble abode.

If you avoid violating that which has been prohibited, your (lesser) sins will be forgiven and you will be admitted into an exalted dwelling.

If you shun the great sins which you are forbidden, We will do away with your small sins and cause you to enter an honorable place of entering.

اگر تم اُن بڑے بڑے گناہوں سے پرہیز کرتے رہو جن سے تمہیں منع کیا جا رہا ہے تو تمہاری چھوٹی موٹی برائیوں کو ہم تمہارے حساب سے ساقط کر دیں گے اور تم کو عزت کی جگہ داخل کریں گے

اگر بچتے رہو کبیرہ گناہوں سے جن کی تمہیں ممانعت ہے تو تمہارے اور گناہ ہم بخش دیں گے اور تمہیں عزت کی جگہ داخل کریں گے،

وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوْا۟ مَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ ۚ لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌۭ مِّمَّا ٱكْتَسَبُوا۟ ۖ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِيبٌۭ مِّمَّا ٱكْتَسَبْنَ ۚ وَسْـَٔلُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مِن فَضْلِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًۭا

⦿

And covet not the thing in which Allah hath made some of you excel others. Unto men a fortune from that which they have earned, and unto women a fortune from that which they have earned. (Envy not one another) but ask Allah of His bounty. Lo! Allah is ever Knower of all things.

اور خبردار جو خدا نے بعض افراد کو بعض سے کچھ زیادہ دیا ہے اس کی تمنّا اور آرزو نہ کرنا مردوں کے لئے وہ حصہّ ہے جو انہوں نے کمایا ہے اور عورتوں کے لئے وہ حصہّ ہے جو انہوں نے حاصل کیا ہے- اللہ سے اس کے فضل کا سوال کرو کہ وہ بیشک ہر شے کا جاننے والا ہے

اور جو کچھ اللہ نے تم میں سے کسی کو دوسروں کے مقابلہ میں زیادہ دیا ہے اس کی تمنا نہ کرو جو کچھ مَردوں نے کمایا ہے اُس کے مطابق ان کا حصہ ہے اور جو کچھ عورتوں نے کمایا ہے اس کے مطابق اُن کا حصہ ہاں اللہ سے اس کے فضل کی دعا مانگتے رہو، یقیناً اللہ ہر چیز کا علم رکھتا ہے

اور ا س کی آرزو نہ کرو جس سے اللہ نے تم میں ایک کو دوسرے پر بڑائی دی مردوں کے لئے ان کی کمائی سے حصہ ہے، اور عورتوں کے لئے ان کی کمائی سے حصہ اور اللہ سے اس کا فضل مانگو، بیشک اللہ سب کچھ جانتا ہے،

اور اللہ نے تم سے بعض کو دوسرے بعض پر جو زیادتی (بڑائی) عطا کی ہے۔ تم اس کی تمنا نہ کرو۔ مردوں کا حصہ ہے (مال و اعمال وغیرہ سے) جو انہوں نے کمایا اور عورتوں کا حصہ ہے جو کچھ انہوں نے کمایا۔ اور اللہ سے اس کے فضل (مال اور اعمال وغیرہ کا) سوال کرو بے شک اللہ ہر چیز کا جاننے والا ہے۔

وَلِكُلٍّۢ جَعَلْنَا مَوَٰلِىَ مِمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ عَقَدَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُمْ فَـَٔاتُوهُمْ نَصِيبَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدًا

⦿

And unto each We have appointed heirs of that which parents and near kindred leave; and as for those with whom your right hands have made a covenant, give them their due. Lo! Allah is ever Witness over all things.

For everyone We have appointed heirs to what the parents and near relatives leave, as well as those with whom you have made a compact; so give them their share [of the heritage]. Indeed Allah is witness to all things.

We have chosen heirs for every legacy that parents and relatives may leave. Let those who have been promised a bequest receive their share of the legacy. God is Omnipresent.

اور ہم نے ہر اُس ترکے کے حق دار مقرر کر دیے ہیں جو والدین اور رشتہ دار چھوڑیں اب رہے وہ لوگ جن سے تمہارے عہد و پیمان ہوں تو ان کا حصہ انہیں دو، یقیناً اللہ ہر چیز پر نگراں ہے

اور ہم نے سب کے لئے مال کے مستحق بنادیے ہیں جو کچھ چھوڑ جائیں ماں باپ اور قرابت والے اور وہ جن سے تمہارا حلف بندھ چکا انہیں ان کا حصہ دو، بیشک ہر چیز اللہ کے سامنے ہے،

اور ہم نے ہر شخص کے لئے وارث مقرر کر دیئے ہیں، جو کچھ ماں، باپ اور قریب ترین رشتہ دار اور جن سے تم نے عہدوپیمان کر رکھا ہے۔ چھوڑ جائیں انہیں (وارثوں کو) ان کا حصہ دو۔ بے شک اللہ ہر چیز پر گواہ (مطلع) ہے۔

ٱلرِّجَالُ قَوَّٰمُونَ عَلَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ بِمَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ وَبِمَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ ۚ فَٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ قَٰنِتَٰتٌ حَٰفِظَٰتٌۭ لِّلْغَيْبِ بِمَا حَفِظَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَٱلَّٰتِى تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ فَعِظُوهُنَّ وَٱهْجُرُوهُنَّ فِى ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ وَٱضْرِبُوهُنَّ ۖ فَإِنْ أَطَعْنَكُمْ فَلَا تَبْغُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ سَبِيلًا ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيًّۭا كَبِيرًۭا

⦿

Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High, Exalted, Great.

Men are the managers of women, because of the advantage Allah has granted some of them over others, and by virtue of their spending out of their wealth. Righteous women are obedient and watchful in the absence [of their husbands] in guarding what Allah has enjoined [them] to guard. As for those [wives] whose misconduct you fear, [first] advise them, and [if ineffective] keep away from them in the bed, and [as the last resort] beat them. Then if they obey you, do not seek any course [of action] against them. Indeed Allah is all-exalted, all-great.

⦿

Men are the protectors of women because of the greater preference that God has given to some of them and because they financially support them. Among virtuous women are those who are steadfast in prayer and dependable in keeping the secrets that God has protected. Admonish women who disobey (God's laws), do not sleep with them and beat them. If they obey (the laws of God), do not try to find fault in them. God is High and Supreme.

Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.

As for those from whom you apprehend infidelity, admonish them, then refuse to share their beds, and finally hit them [lightly]. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. For God is High, Great.

مرد عورتوں کے حاکم اور نگراں ہیں ان فضیلتوں کی بنا پر جو خد انے بعض کو بعض پر دی ہیں اور اس بنا پر کہ انہوں نے عورتوں پر اپنا مال خرچ کیا ہے- پس نیک عورتیں وہی ہیں جو شوہروں کی اطاعت کرنے والی اور ان کی غیبت میں ان چیزوں کی حفاظت کرنے والی ہیں جن کی خدا نے حفاظت چاہی ہے اور جن عورتوں کی نافرمانی کا خطرہ ہے انہیں موعظہ کرو- انہیں خواب گاہ میں الگ کردو اور مارو اور پھر اطاعت کرنے لگیں تو کوئی زیادتی کی راہ تلاش نہ کرو کہ خدا بہت بلند اور بزرگ ہے

مرد عورتوں پر قوام ہیں، اس بنا پر کہ اللہ نے اُن میں سے ایک کو دوسرے پر فضیلت دی ہے، اور اس بنا پر کہ مرد اپنے مال خرچ کرتے ہیں پس جو صالح عورتیں ہیں وہ اطاعت شعار ہوتی ہیں اور مردوں کے پیچھے اللہ کی حفاظت و نگرانی میں اُن کے حقوق کی حفاظت کرتی ہیں اور جن عورتوں سے تمہیں سرکشی کا اندیشہ ہو انہیں سمجھاؤ، خواب گاہوں میں اُن سے علیحدہ رہو اور مارو، پھر اگر تم وہ تمہاری مطیع ہو جائیں تو خواہ مخواہ ان پر دست درازی کے لیے بہانے تلاش نہ کرو، یقین رکھو کہ اوپر اللہ موجود ہے جو بڑا اور بالا تر ہے

مرد افسر ہیں عورتوں پر اس لیے کہ اللہ نے ان میں ایک کو دوسرے پر فضیلت دی اور اس لئے کہ مردوں نے ان پر اپنے مال خرچ کیے تو نیک بخت عورتیں ادب والیاں ہیں خاوند کے پیچھے حفاظت رکھتی ہیں جس طرح اللہ نے حفاظت کا حکم دیا اور جن عورتوں کی نافرمانی کا تمہیں اندیشہ ہو تو انہیں سمجھاؤ اور ان سے الگ سوؤ اور انہیں مارو پھر اگر وہ تمہارے حکم میں آجائیں تو ان پر زیادتی کی کوئی راہ نہ چاہو بیشک اللہ بلند بڑا ہے

مرد عورتوں کے محافظ و منتظم (حاکم) ہیں (ایک) اس لئے کہ اللہ نے بعض (مردوں) کو بعض (عورتوں) پر فضیلت دی ہے اور (دوسرے) اس لئے کہ مرد (عورتوں پر) اپنے مال سے خرچ کرتے ہیں۔ سو نیک عورتیں تو اطاعت گزار ہوتی ہیں اور جس طرح اللہ نے (شوہروں کے ذریعہ) ان کی حفاظت کی ہے۔ اسی طرح پیٹھ پیچھے (شوہروں کے مال اور اپنی ناموس کی) حفاظت کرنے والی ہوتی ہیں اور وہ عورتیں جن کی سرکشی کا تمہیں اندیشہ ہو انہیں (نرمی سے) سمجھاؤ (بعد ازاں) انہیں ان کی خواب گاہوں میں چھوڑ دو اور (آخرکار)۔ انہیں مارو۔ پھر اگر وہ تمہاری اطاعت کرنے لگیں تو پھر ان کے خلاف کوئی اور اقدام کرنے کے راستے تلاش نہ کرو۔ یقینا اللہ (اپنی کبریائی میں) سب سے بالا اور بڑا ہے۔

وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ شِقَاقَ بَيْنِهِمَا فَٱبْعَثُوا۟ حَكَمًۭا مِّنْ أَهْلِهِۦ وَحَكَمًۭا مِّنْ أَهْلِهَآ إِن يُرِيدَآ إِصْلَٰحًۭا يُوَفِّقِ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَهُمَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا خَبِيرًۭا

⦿

And if ye fear a breach between them twain (the man and wife), appoint an arbiter from his folk and an arbiter from her folk. If they desire amendment Allah will make them of one mind. Lo! Allah is ever Knower, Aware.

If you fear a split between the two of them, then appoint an arbiter from his relatives and an arbiter from her relatives. If they desire reconcilement, Allah shall reconcile them. Indeed Allah is all-knowing, all-aware.

If there appears to be discord between a wife and her husband and if they desire reconciliation choose arbiters from the families of both sides. God will bring them together; God is All-knowing and All-aware.

And if you fear a breach between the two, then appoint judge from his people and a judge from her people; if they both desire agreement, Allah will effect harmony between them, surely Allah is Knowing, Aware.

If you fear any breach between a man and his wife, appoint one arbiter from his family and one arbiter from her family. If they both want to set things right, God will bring about a reconciliation between them: He is all knowing and all aware.

And serve Allah. Ascribe no thing as partner unto Him. (Show) kindness unto parents, and unto near kindred, and orphans, and the needy, and unto the neighbour who is of kin (unto you) and the neighbour who is not of kin, and the fellow-traveller and the wayfarer and (the slaves) whom your right hands possess. Lo! Allah loveth not such as are proud and boastful,

Who hoard their wealth and enjoin avarice on others, and hide that which Allah hath bestowed upon them of His bounty. For disbelievers We prepare a shameful doom;

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.
