The Weak [ 4:130 ] النساء

وَإِن

يَتَفَرَّقَا

يُغْنِ

ٱللَّهُ

كُلًّۭا

مِّن

سَعَتِهِۦ

وَكَانَ

ٱللَّهُ

وَٰسِعًا

[untranslated]

حَكِيمًۭا

١٣٠

وَإِن يَتَفَرَّقَا يُغْنِ ٱللَّهُ كُلًّۭا مِّن سَعَتِهِۦ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعًا حَكِيمًۭا

⦿

But if they separate, Allah will compensate each out of His abundance. Allah is ever All-Embracing, All-Knowing.

اور اگر وہ دونوں جدا ہوجائیں تو اللہ اپنی کشائش سے تم میں ہر ایک کو دوسرے سے بے نیاز کردے گا اور اللہ کشائش والا حکمت والا ہے،

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَلَقَدْ وَصَّيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَإِيَّاكُمْ أَنِ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۚ وَإِن تَكْفُرُوا۟ فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَنِيًّا حَمِيدًۭا

⦿

Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And We charged those who received the Scripture before you, and (We charge) you, that ye keep your duty toward Allah. And if ye disbelieve, lo! unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and Allah is ever Absolute, Owner of Praise.

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. We have certainly enjoined those who were given the Book before you, and you, that you should be wary of Allah. But if you are faithless, [you should know that] to Allah indeed belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and Allah is all-sufficient, all-laudable.

To God belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. We have told you and the People of the Book to have fear of God. If you all refuse to believe in Him, know that to God belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. God is Self-sufficient and Praiseworthy.

And whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is Allah's and certainly We enjoined those who were given the Book before you and (We enjoin) you too that you should be careful of (your duty to) Allah; and if you disbelieve, then surely whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is Allah's and Allah is Self-sufficient, Praise-worthy.

اور اللہ کے لئے زمین و آسمان کی کل کائنات ہے اور ہم نے تم سے پہلے اہلِ کتاب کو اور اب تم کو یہ وصیت کی ہے کہ اللہ سے ڈرو اور اگر کفر اختیار کرو گے تو خدا کا کوئی نقصان نہیں ہے اس کے لئے زمین و آسمان کی کل کائنات ہے اور وہ بے نیاز بھی ہے اور قابل هحمدو ستائش بھی ہے

آسمانوں اور زمین میں جو کچھ ہے سب اللہ ہی کا ہے تم سے پہلے جن کو ہم نے کتاب دی تھی انہیں بھی یہی ہدایت کی تھی اور اب تم کو بھی یہی ہدایت کرتے ہیں کہ خدا سے ڈرتے ہوئے کام کرو لیکن اگر تم نہیں مانتے تو نہ مانو، آسمان و زمین کی ساری چیزوں کا مالک اللہ ہی ہے اور وہ بے نیاز ہے، ہر تعریف کا مستحق

اور اللہ ہی کا ہے جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے اور جو کچھ زمین میں، اور بیشک تاکید فرمادی ہے ہم نے ان سے جو تم سے پہلے کتاب دیئے گئے اور تم کو کہ اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو اور اگر کفر کرو تو بیشک اللہ ہی کا ہے جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے اور جو کچھ زمین میں اور اللہ بے نیاز ہے سب خوبیوں سراہا،

اور جو کچھ آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے سب اللہ ہی کا ہے اور ہم نے ان لوگوں کو بھی جن کو تم سے پہلے کتاب دی گئی تھی اور تمہیں بھی ہدایت کی ہے کہ تقویٰ و پرہیزگاری اختیار کرو۔ وہ تو آسمانوں اور زمین کی سب چیزوں کا مالک ہے۔ اللہ بڑا بے نیاز ہے حمد و ثناء کا حقدار ہے۔

If He will, He can remove you, O people, and produce others (in your stead). Allah is Able to do that.

مَّن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَعِندَ ٱللَّهِ ثَوَابُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًۭا

Whoso desireth the reward of the world, (let him know that) with Allah is the reward of the world and the Hereafter. Allah is ever Hearer, Seer.

جو دنیا کا انعام چاہے تو اللہ ہی کے پاس دنیا و آخرت دونوں کا انعام ہے اور اللہ ہی سنتا دیکھتا ہے،

خَبِيرًۭا

١٣٥

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ قَوَّٰمِينَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ شُهَدَآءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَوِ ٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ ۚ إِن يَكُنْ غَنِيًّا أَوْ فَقِيرًۭا فَٱللَّهُ أَوْلَىٰ بِهِمَا ۖ فَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ أَن تَعْدِلُوا۟ ۚ وَإِن تَلْوُۥٓا۟ أَوْ تُعْرِضُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًۭا

⦿

O ye who believe! Be ye staunch in justice, witnesses for Allah, even though it be against yourselves or (your) parents or (your) kindred, whether (the case be of) a rich man or a poor man, for Allah is nearer unto both (them ye are). So follow not passion lest ye lapse (from truth) and if ye lapse or fall away, then lo! Allah is ever Informed of what ye do.

O you who have faith! Be maintainers of justice and witnesses for the sake of Allah, even if it should be against yourselves or [your] parents and near relatives, and whether it be [someone] rich or poor, for Allah has a greater right over them. So do not follow [your] desires, lest you should be unfair, and if you distort [the testimony] or disregard [it], Allah is indeed well aware of what you do.

⦿

Believers, be the supporters of justice and the testify to what you may have witnessed, for the sake of God, even against yourselves, parents, and relatives; whether it be against the rich or the poor. God must be given preference over them. Let not your desires cause you to commit injustice. If you deviate from the truth in your testimony, or decline to give your testimony at all, know that God is Well Aware of what you do.

O you who believe! be maintainers of justice, bearers of witness of Allah's sake, though it may be against your own selves or (your) parents or near relatives; if he be rich or poor, Allah is nearer to them both in compassion; therefore do not follow (your) low desires, lest you deviate; and if you swerve or turn aside, then surely Allah is aware of what you do.

Believers, be strict in upholding justice and bear witness for the sake of God, even though it be against yourselves, your parents, or your kindred. Be they rich or poor, God knows better about them both. Do not, then, follow your own desires, lest you swerve from justice. If you conceal the truth or evade it, then remember that God is well aware of all that you do.

اے ایمان والو! عدل و انصاف کے ساتھ قیام کرو اور اللہ کے لئے گواہ بنو چاہے اپنی ذات یا اپنے والدین اور اقربا ہی کے خلاف کیوں نہ ہو- جس کے لئے گواہی دینا ہے وہ غنی ہو یا فقیر اللہ دونوں کے لئے تم سے اولیٰ ہے لہذا خبردار خواہشات کا اتباع نہ کرنا تاکہ انصاف کرسکو اور اگر توڑ مروڑ سے کام لیا یا بالکل کنارہ کشی کرلی تو یاد رکھو کہ اللہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے

اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، انصاف کے علمبردار اور خدا واسطے کے گواہ بنو اگرچہ تمہارے انصاف اور تمہاری گواہی کی زد خود تمہاری اپنی ذات پر یا تمہارے والدین اور رشتہ داروں پر ہی کیوں نہ پڑتی ہو فریق معاملہ خواہ مالدار ہو یا غریب، اللہ تم سے زیادہ اُن کا خیر خواہ ہے لہٰذا اپنی خواہش نفس کی پیروی میں عدل سے باز نہ رہو اور اگر تم نے لگی لپٹی بات کہی یا سچائی سے پہلو بچایا تو جان رکھو کہ جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اللہ کو اس کی خبر ہے

اے ایمان والو! انصاف پر خوب قائم ہوجاؤ اللہ کے لئے گواہی دیتے چاہے اس میں تمہارا اپنا نقصان ہو یا ماں باپ کا یا رشتہ داروں کا جس پر گواہی دو وہ غنی ہو یا فقیر ہو بہرحال اللہ کو اس کا سب سے زیادہ اختیار ہے تو خواہش کے پیچھے نہ جاؤ کہ حق سے الگ پڑو اگر تم ہیر پھیر کرو یا منہ پھیرو تو اللہ کو تمہارے کاموں کی خبر ہے

اے ایمان والو! مضبوطی کے ساتھ انصاف کے علمبردار ہو جاؤ۔ اور محض اللہ کے لئے گواہی دینے والے بنو۔ خواہ تمہیں اپنے یا والدین کے اور اپنے قریبی رشتہ داروں کے خلاف ہی گواہی دینا پڑے۔ وہ (جس کے خلاف گواہی دی جا رہی ہے) چاہے امیر ہو چاہے فقیر ہو بہرحال اللہ ان دونوں کا تم سے زیادہ خیرخواہ ہے پس اس طرح خواہش نفس کی پیروی نہ کرو کہ حق سے ہٹ جاؤ۔ اور اگر تم نے ہیرپھیر کیا یا (حق سے) منہ موڑا تو بے شک جو کہ تم کرتے ہو اللہ اس سے باخبر ہے۔

The Weak [ 4:136 ] النساء

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا

O you of

ٱلَّذِينَ

the ones who

ءَامَنُوٓا۟

are convinced!

ءَامِنُوا۟

Be of firm conviction

بِٱللَّهِ

regarding the One,

وَرَسُولِهِۦ

and His messenger,

وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ

and the Book,

ٱلَّذِى

the one which

نَزَّلَ

has been sent down

عَلَىٰ

upon

رَسُولِهِۦ

His messenger,

وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ

and the Book

ٱلَّذِىٓ

the one which

أَنزَلَ

has been sent down

مِن

from

قَبْلُ

before;

وَمَن

and whoever

يَكْفُرْ

denies

بِٱللَّهِ

about the One

وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ

and His malaikati,

وَكُتُبِهِۦ

and His books,

وَرُسُلِهِۦ

and His messengers,

وَٱلْيَوْمِ

and the day of

ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ

the forthcoming

فَقَدْ

then surely

ضَلَّ

has strayed

ضَلَٰلًۢا

in to darkness

بَعِيدًا

in deep.

١٣٦

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِن قَبْلُ ۚ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا

O you of the ones who are convinced! Be of firm conviction regarding the One, and His messenger, and the Book, the one which has been sent down upon His messenger, and the Book the one which has been sent down from before; and whoever denies about the One and His malaikati, and His books, and His messengers, and the day of the forthcoming then surely has strayed in to darkness in deep.

O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His messenger and the Scripture which He hath revealed unto His messenger, and the Scripture which He revealed aforetime. Whoso disbelieveth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers and the Last Day, he verily hath wandered far astray.

Lo! those who believe, then disbelieve and then (again) believe, then disbelieve, and then increase in disbelief, Allah will never pardon them, nor will He guide them unto a way.

بَشِّرِ

Give good news to

ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ

the hypocrites

بِأَنَّ

about that

لَهُمْ

for them is

عَذَابًا

a punishment

أَلِيمًا

of suffering.

١٣٨

بَشِّرِ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ بِأَنَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

Give good news to the hypocrites about that for them is a punishment of suffering.

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

the sure-ones,

أَيَبْتَغُونَ

they seek to find

عِندَهُمُ

from them

ٱلْعِزَّةَ

the respectability

فَإِنَّ

then indeed

ٱلْعِزَّةَ

the respectability

لِلَّهِ

belongs to the One

جَمِيعًۭا

in entirety.

١٣٩

ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۚ أَيَبْتَغُونَ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْعِزَّةَ فَإِنَّ ٱلْعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًۭا

The ones who take the denying people as guardians from other than the sure-ones, they seek to find from them the respectability then indeed the respectability belongs to the One in entirety.

Those who chose disbelievers for their friends instead of believers! Do they look for power at their hands? Lo! all power appertaineth to Allah.

—those who take the faithless for allies instead of the faithful. Do they seek honour with them? [If so,] indeed all honour belongs to Allah.

Do those who establish friendship with the disbelievers instead of the believers seek honor? Let them know that all honor belongs to God.

The Weak [ 4:140 ] النساء

وَقَدْ

And surely

نَزَّلَ

has alighted

عَلَيْكُمْ

upon you

فِى

ٱلْكِتَٰبِ

the Book,

أَنْ

that

إِذَا

whenever

سَمِعْتُمْ

you hear

ءَايَٰتِ

signs of

ٱللَّهِ

the One

يُكْفَرُ

being denied

بِهَا

by them,

وَيُسْتَهْزَأُ

or being mocked

بِهَا

by them,

فَلَا

then do not

تَقْعُدُوا۟

sit

مَعَهُمْ

along with them

حَتَّىٰ

until

يَخُوضُوا۟

they engage

فِى

حَدِيثٍ

a narrative

غَيْرِهِۦٓ

different from it;

إِنَّكُمْ

(otherwise) certainly you

إِذًۭا

then will be

مِّثْلُهُمْ

as like them.

إِنَّ

Surely

ٱللَّهَ

the One is

جَامِعُ

going to include

ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ

the hypocrites

وَٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

and the deniers

فِى

جَهَنَّمَ

hell

جَمِيعًا

altogether.

١٤٠

وَقَدْ نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أَنْ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ يُكْفَرُ بِهَا وَيُسْتَهْزَأُ بِهَا فَلَا تَقْعُدُوا۟ مَعَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَخُوضُوا۟ فِى حَدِيثٍ غَيْرِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًۭا مِّثْلُهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ جَامِعُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ جَمِيعًا

And surely has alighted upon you in the Book, that whenever you hear signs of the One being denied by them, or being mocked by them, then do not sit along with them until they engage in a narrative different from it; (otherwise) certainly you then will be as like them. Surely the One is going to include the hypocrites and the deniers in hell altogether.

He hath already revealed unto you in the Scripture that, when ye hear the revelations of Allah rejected and derided, (ye) sit not with them (who disbelieve and mock) until they engage in some other conversation. Lo! in that case (if ye stayed) ye would be like unto them. Lo! Allah will gather hypocrites and disbelievers, all together, into hell;

Certainly He has sent down to you in the Book that when you hear Allah]s signs being disbelieved and derided, do not sit with them until they engage in some other discourse, or else you [too] will be like them. Indeed Allah will gather the hypocrites and the faithless in hell all together

God has told you (believers) in the Book that when you hear people disbelieving and mocking God's revelations, do not sit with them unless they change the subject. You will become like them. God will gather all the hypocrites and the disbelievers together in hell fire.

And indeed He has revealed to you in the Book that when you hear Allah's communications disbelieved in and mocked at do not sit with them until they enter into some other discourse; surely then you would be like them; surely Allah will gather together the hypocrites and the unbelievers all in hell.

He has instructed you in the Book that, when you hear people deny or ridicule God's revelations, you must not sit with them unless they engage in other talk, or else you yourselves shall become like them. God will gather all the hypocrites and those who deny the truth together in Hell.

اور اس نے کتاب میں یہ بات نازل کردی ہے کہ جب آیااُ الٰہی کے بارے میں یہ سنو کہ ان کا انکار اور استہزائ ہورہا ہے تو خبردار ان کے ساتھ ہرگز نہ بیٹھنا جب تک وہ دوسری باتوں میں مصروف نہ ہوجائیں ورنہ تم ان ہی کے مثل ہوجاؤ گے خدا کفار اور منافقین سب کو جہّنم میں ایک ساتھ اکٹھا کرنے والا ہے

اللہ اِس کتاب میں تم کو پہلے ہی حکم دے چکا ہے کہ جہاں تم سنو کہ اللہ کی آیات کے خلاف کفر بکا جا رہا ہے اور ا ن کا مذاق اڑایا جا رہا ہے وہاں نہ بیٹھو جب تک کہ لوگ کسی دوسری بات میں نہ لگ جائیں اب اگر تم ایسا کرتے ہو تو تم بھی انہی کی طرح ہو یقین جانو کہ اللہ منافقوں اور کافروں کو جہنم میں ایک جگہ جمع کرنے والا ہے

اور بیشک اللہ تم پر کتاب میں اتار چکا کہ جب تم اللہ کی آیتوں کو سنو کہ ان کا انکار کیا جاتا اور ان کی ہنسی بنائی جاتی ہے تو ان لوگوں کے ساتھ نہ بیٹھو جب تک وہ اور بات میں مشغول نہ ہوں ورنہ تم بھی انہیں جیسے ہو بیشک اللہ منافقوں اور کافروں سب کو جہنم میں اکٹھا کرے گا

اور اس نے کتاب (قرآن) میں تم پر یہ حکم نازل کیا ہے کہ جب سنو کہ (کسی جگہ) آیات الٰہیہ کا انکار کیا جا رہا ہے اور ان کا مذاق اڑایا جا رہا ہے۔ تو ایسے لوگوں کے ساتھ مت بیٹھو۔ جب تک وہ کسی اور بات میں مشغول نہ ہو جائیں (ورنہ) اس حالت میں تم بھی انہی جیسے ہو جاؤگے۔ بے شک خدا سب منافقوں اور سب کافروں کو دوزخ میں اکھٹا کرنے والا ہے۔

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.

Due Credits:

This website was possible by help of many people and forums who helped me to learn Arabic, Philosophy, Law, Psychology, and PHP and other Web scripts. To be honest, I do not even know the names of many but I did learn from them. Some of these people were already dead by the time I read their input.

The entire code of this website is available for the same reason, that what they taught me, I can only pay it forward.

The Arabic text of the Quran was obtained from Tanzil. The additional translations were also obtained from Tanzil from this link.

The social-sharing images of verses were obtained from Legacy Quran.com, and were then resized for proper social-media display.
