They consult thee concerning women. Say: Allah giveth you decree concerning them, and the Scripture which hath been recited unto you (giveth decree), concerning female orphans and those unto whom ye give not that which is ordained for them though ye desire to marry them, and (concerning) the weak among children, and that ye should deal justly with orphans. Whatever good ye do, lo! Allah is ever Aware of it. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They seek your ruling concerning women. Say, [Allah gives you a ruling concerning them and what is announced to you in the Book concerning girl orphans—whom you do not give what has been prescribed for them, and yet you desire to marry them—and about the weak among children: that you should maintain the orphans with justice, and whatever good you do, indeed Allah knows it well. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), they ask you concerning women. Tell them, [God will instruct you about them, besides that which can be read in the Book, about widows with children, whom you wanted to marry without giving them their due rights and He will instruct you about the rights of the weak and oppressed children. And they ask you a decision about women. Say: Allah makes known to you His decision concerning them, and that which is recited to you in the Book concerning female orphans whom you do not give what is appointed for them while you desire to marry them, and concerning the weak among children, and that you should deal towards orphans with equity; and whatever good you do, Allah surely knows it. - Shakir, Habib

پیغمبر یہ لوگ آپ سے یتیم لڑکیوں کے بارے میں حکهِ خدا دریافت کرتے ہیں تو آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ ان کے بارے میں خدا اجازت دیتا ہے اور جو کتاب میں تمہارے سامنے حکم بیان کیا جاتا ہے وہ ان یتیم عورتوں کے بارے میں ہے جن کو تم ان کا حق میراث نہیں دیتے ہو اور چاہتے ہو کہ ان سے نکاح کرکے سارا مال روک لو اور ان کمزور بّچوں کے بارے میں ہے کہ یتیموں کے بارے میں انصاف کے ساتھ قیام کرو اور جو بھی تم کا»خیر کرو گے خدا اس کا بخوبی جاننے والا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

لو گ تم سے عورتوں کے معاملہ میں فتویٰ پوچھتے ہیں کہو اللہ تمہیں اُن کے معاملہ میں فتویٰ دیتا ہے، اور ساتھ ہی وہ احکام بھی یاد دلاتا ہے جو پہلے سے تم کو اس کتاب میں سنائے جا رہے ہیں یعنی وہ احکام جو اُن یتیم لڑکیوں کے متعلق ہیں جن کے حق تم ادا نہیں کرتے اور جن کے نکاح کرنے سے تم باز رہتے ہو (یا لالچ کی بنا پر تم خود ان سے نکاح کر لینا چاہتے ہو)، او ر وہ احکام جو اُن بچوں کے متعلق ہیں جو بیچارے کوئی زور نہیں رکھتے اللہ تمہیں ہدایت کرتا ہے کہ یتیموں کے ساتھ انصاف پر قائم رہو، اور جو بھلائی تم کرو گے وہ اللہ کے علم سے چھپی نہ رہ جائے گی - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اے رسول! لوگ عورتوں کے معاملہ میں آپ سے فتویٰ طلب کرتے ہیں کہہ دیجیے! کہ اللہ تمہیں ان کے بارے میں فتویٰ دیتا ہے اور متوجہ کرتا ہے ان آیات کی طرف جو کلام الٰہی کے اندر ہیں اور تمہیں ان یتیم لڑکیوں کے بارے میں پڑھ کر سنائی جا رہی ہیں۔ جن کا تم مقررہ حق تو ادا نہیں کرتے مگر چاہتے ہو کہ ان سے نکاح کرلو۔ اور متوجہ کرتا ہے ان (آیات) کی طرف جو ان کمزور و بے بس لڑکوں کے بارے میں ہیں۔ اور جو (آیات) اس بارے میں ہیں کہ یتیم بچوں کے بارے میں انصاف پر قائم رہو۔ اور تم جو بھلائی کروگے تو اللہ اس کا خوب علم رکھتا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

If a woman feareth ill treatment from her husband, or desertion, it is no sin for them twain if they make terms of peace between themselves. Peace is better. But greed hath been made present in the minds (of men). If ye do good and keep from evil, lo! Allah is ever Informed of what ye do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

If a woman fears from her husband misconduct or desertion, there is no sin upon the couple if they reach a reconciliation between themselves; and reconcilement is better. The souls are prone to greed; but if you are virtuous and Godwary, Allah is indeed well aware of what you do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

اور اگر کوئی عورت شوہر سے حقوق ادا نہ کرنے یا اس کی کنارہ کشی سے طلاق کا خطرہ محسوس کرے تو دونوں کے لئے کوئی حرج نہیں ہے کہ کسی طرح آپس میں صلح کرلیں کہ صلح میں بہتری ہے اور بخل تو ہر نفس کے ساتھ حاضر رہتا ہے اور اگر تم اچھا برتاؤ کرو گے اور زیادتی سے بچو گے تو خدا تمہارے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جب کسی عورت کو اپنے شوہر سے بدسلوکی یا بے رخی کا خطر ہ ہو تو کوئی مضائقہ نہیں اگر میاں اور بیوی (کچھ حقوق کی کمی بیشی پر) آپس میں صلح کر لیں صلح بہر حال بہتر ہے نفس تنگ دلی کے طرف جلدی مائل ہو جاتے ہیں، لیکن اگر تم لوگ احسان سے پیش آؤ اور خدا ترسی سے کام لو تو یقین رکھو کہ اللہ تمہارے اس طرز عمل سے بے خبر نہ ہوگا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Ye will not be able to deal equally between (your) wives, however much ye wish (to do so). But turn not altogether away (from one), leaving her as in suspense. If ye do good and keep from evil, lo! Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

You will not be able to be fair between wives, even if you are eager to do so. Yet do not turn away from one altogether, leaving her as if in a suspense. But if you are conciliatory and Godwary, Allah is indeed all-forgiving, all-merciful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

You will never be able to maintain justice among your wives and love them all equally, no matter how hard you try. Do not give total preference to one of them, leaving the other as if in suspense. And you have it not in your power to do justice between wives, even though you may wish (it), but be not disinclined (from one) with total disinclination, so that you leave her as it were in suspense; and if you effect a reconciliation and guard (against evil), then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. - Shakir, Habib

You will never be able to treat your wives with equal fairness, however much you may desire to do so, but do not ignore one wife altogether, leaving her suspended [between marriage and divorce]. And if you make amends and act righteously, surely God is most forgiving and merciful. - Wahiduddin Khan

بیویوں کے درمیان پورا پورا عدل کرنا تمہارے بس میں نہیں ہے تم چاہو بھی تو اس پر قادر نہیں ہوسکتے لہٰذا (قانون الٰہی کا منشا پورا کرنے کے لیے یہ کافی ہے کہ) ایک بیوی کی طرف اِس طرح نہ جھک جاؤ کہ دوسری کو ادھر لٹکتا چھوڑ دو اگر تم اپنا طرز عمل درست رکھو اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو تو اللہ چشم پوشی کرنے والا اور رحم فرمانے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور تم سے ہرگز نہ ہوسکے گا کہ عورتوں کو برابر رکھو اور چاہے کتنی ہی حرص کرو تو یہ تو نہ ہو کہ ایک طرف پورا جھک جاؤ کہ دوسری کو ادھر میں لٹکتی چھوڑ دو اور اگر تم نیکی اور پرہیزگاری کرو تو بیشک اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے، - Ahmed Raza

Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And We charged those who received the Scripture before you, and (We charge) you, that ye keep your duty toward Allah. And if ye disbelieve, lo! unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and Allah is ever Absolute, Owner of Praise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ قَوَّٰمِينَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ شُهَدَآءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَوِ ٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ ۚ إِن يَكُنْ غَنِيًّا أَوْ فَقِيرًۭا فَٱللَّهُ أَوْلَىٰ بِهِمَا ۖ فَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ أَن تَعْدِلُوا۟ ۚ وَإِن تَلْوُۥٓا۟ أَوْ تُعْرِضُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

O ye who believe! Be ye staunch in justice, witnesses for Allah, even though it be against yourselves or (your) parents or (your) kindred, whether (the case be of) a rich man or a poor man, for Allah is nearer unto both (them ye are). So follow not passion lest ye lapse (from truth) and if ye lapse or fall away, then lo! Allah is ever Informed of what ye do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O you who have faith! Be maintainers of justice and witnesses for the sake of Allah, even if it should be against yourselves or [your] parents and near relatives, and whether it be [someone] rich or poor, for Allah has a greater right over them. So do not follow [your] desires, lest you should be unfair, and if you distort [the testimony] or disregard [it], Allah is indeed well aware of what you do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Believers, be the supporters of justice and the testify to what you may have witnessed, for the sake of God, even against yourselves, parents, and relatives; whether it be against the rich or the poor. God must be given preference over them. Let not your desires cause you to commit injustice. If you deviate from the truth in your testimony, or decline to give your testimony at all, know that God is Well Aware of what you do. - Sarwar, Muhammad

اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، انصاف کے علمبردار اور خدا واسطے کے گواہ بنو اگرچہ تمہارے انصاف اور تمہاری گواہی کی زد خود تمہاری اپنی ذات پر یا تمہارے والدین اور رشتہ داروں پر ہی کیوں نہ پڑتی ہو فریق معاملہ خواہ مالدار ہو یا غریب، اللہ تم سے زیادہ اُن کا خیر خواہ ہے لہٰذا اپنی خواہش نفس کی پیروی میں عدل سے باز نہ رہو اور اگر تم نے لگی لپٹی بات کہی یا سچائی سے پہلو بچایا تو جان رکھو کہ جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اللہ کو اس کی خبر ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اے ایمان والو! انصاف پر خوب قائم ہوجاؤ اللہ کے لئے گواہی دیتے چاہے اس میں تمہارا اپنا نقصان ہو یا ماں باپ کا یا رشتہ داروں کا جس پر گواہی دو وہ غنی ہو یا فقیر ہو بہرحال اللہ کو اس کا سب سے زیادہ اختیار ہے تو خواہش کے پیچھے نہ جاؤ کہ حق سے الگ پڑو اگر تم ہیر پھیر کرو یا منہ پھیرو تو اللہ کو تمہارے کاموں کی خبر ہے - Ahmed Raza

اے ایمان والو! مضبوطی کے ساتھ انصاف کے علمبردار ہو جاؤ۔ اور محض اللہ کے لئے گواہی دینے والے بنو۔ خواہ تمہیں اپنے یا والدین کے اور اپنے قریبی رشتہ داروں کے خلاف ہی گواہی دینا پڑے۔ وہ (جس کے خلاف گواہی دی جا رہی ہے) چاہے امیر ہو چاہے فقیر ہو بہرحال اللہ ان دونوں کا تم سے زیادہ خیرخواہ ہے پس اس طرح خواہش نفس کی پیروی نہ کرو کہ حق سے ہٹ جاؤ۔ اور اگر تم نے ہیرپھیر کیا یا (حق سے) منہ موڑا تو بے شک جو کہ تم کرتے ہو اللہ اس سے باخبر ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
