And whoso bringeth the truth and believeth therein - Such are the dutiful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He who brings the truth and he who confirms it—it is they who are the Godwary. - Qarai, Ali Quli

That Allah will remit from them the worst of what they did, and will pay them for reward the best they used to do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Will not Allah defend His slave? Yet they would frighten thee with those beside Him. He whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no guide. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Does not Allah suffice [to defend] His servant? They would frighten you of others than Him. Yet whomever Allah leads astray, has no guide, - Qarai, Ali Quli

Is God not sufficient (support) for His servants? They frighten you with what they worship besides God. Who can guide one whom God has caused to go astray? - Sarwar, Muhammad

Is not Allah sufficient for His servant? And they seek to frighten you with those besides Him; and whomsoever Allah makes err, there is no guide for him. - Shakir, Habib

بِعَزِيزٍۢ
with great power
ذِى
possessing
ٱنتِقَامٍۢ
vengeance?
And whoever is guided by the One then not for him is of misguider. Is not that the One is with great power possessing vengeance?

And he whom Allah guideth, for him there can be no misleader. Is not Allah Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong)? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

and whomever Allah guides, there is no one who can lead him astray. Is not Allah an all-mighty avenger? - Qarai, Ali Quli

Who can mislead one whom God has guided? Is God not Majestic and Revengeful? - Sarwar, Muhammad

And whom Allah guides, there is none that can lead him astray; is not Allah Mighty, the Lord of retribution? - Shakir, Habib

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۚ قُلْ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَنِىَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ هَلْ هُنَّ كَٰشِفَٰتُ ضُرِّهِۦٓ أَوْ أَرَادَنِى بِرَحْمَةٍ هَلْ هُنَّ مُمْسِكَٰتُ رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ قُلْ حَسْبِىَ ٱللَّهُ ۖ عَلَيْهِ يَتَوَكَّلُ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And verily, if thou shouldst ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth? they will say: Allah. Say: Bethink you then of those ye worship beside Allah, if Allah willed some hurt for me, could they remove from me His hurt; or if He willed some mercy for me, could they restrain His mercy? Say: Allah is my all. In Him do (all) the trusting put their trust. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

If you ask them, [Who created the heavens and the earth?] they will surely say, [Allah.] Say, [Have you considered what you invoke besides Allah? Should Allah desire some distress for me, can they remove the distress visited by Him? Or should He desire some mercy for me, can they withhold His mercy?] Say, [Allah is sufficient for me. In Him let all the trusting put their trust.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

If you ask them, [Who has created the heavens and the earth?] They will certainly say, [God has created them.] Ask them, [Do you think that you can rescue me from the punishment of God with which He may afflict me? Can you prevent His mercy if He wants to grant it to me?] Say, [God is Sufficient (support) for me. In Him alone one must trust]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And should you ask them, Who created the heavens and the earth? They would most certainly say: Allah. Say: Have you then considered that what you call upon besides Allah, would they, if Allah desire to afflict me with harm, be the removers of His harm, or (would they), if Allah desire to show me mercy, be the withholders of His mercy? Say: Allah is sufficient for me; on Him do the reliant rely. - Shakir, Habib

If you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely reply, [God.] Say, [Consider those you invoke besides Him: if God wished to harm me, could they undo that harm? Or if God wished to show me mercy, could they withhold that mercy?] Say, [God is sufficient for me. In Him let the faithful put their trust.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اگر آپ ان سے سوال کریں گے کہ زمین و آسمان کو کس نے پیدا کیا ہے تو کہیں گے کہ اللہ ...._ تو کہہ دیجئے کہ کیا تم نے ان سب کا حال دیکھا ہے جن کی عبادت کرتے ہو کہ اگر خدا نقصان پہنچانے کا ارادہ کرلے تو کیا یہ اس نقصان کو روک سکتے ہیں یا اگر وہ رحمت کا ارادہ کرلے تو کیا یہ اس رحمت کو منع کرسکتے ہیں - آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ میرے لئے میرا خدا کافی ہے اور بھروسہ کرنے والے اسی پر بھروسہ کرتے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اِن لوگوں سے اگر تم پوچھو کہ زمین اور آسمانوں کو کس نے پیدا کیا ہے تو یہ خود کہیں گے کہ اللہ نے اِن سے کہو، جب حقیقت یہ ہے تو تمہارا کیا خیال ہے کہ اگر اللہ مجھے کوئی نقصان پہنچانا چاہے تو کیا تمہاری یہ دیویاں، جنہیں تم اللہ کو چھوڑ کر پکارتے ہو، مجھے اُس کے پہنچائے ہوئے نقصان سے بچا لیں گی؟ یا اللہ مجھ پر مہربانی کرنا چاہے تو کیا یہ اس کی رحمت کو روک سکیں گی؟ بس ان سے کہہ دو کہ میرے لیے اللہ ہی کافی ہے، بھروسہ کرنے والے اُسی پر بھروسہ کرتے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اگر تم ان سے پوچھو آسمان اور زمین کس نے بنائے تو ضرور کہیں گے اللہ نے تم فرماؤ بھلا بتاؤ تو وہ جنہیں تم اللہ کے سوا پوجتے ہو اگر اللہ مجھے کوئی تکلیف پہنچانا چاہے تو کیا وہ اس کی بھیجی تکلیف ٹال دیں گے یا وہ مجھ پر مہر (رحم) فرمانا چاہے تو کیا وہ اس کی مہر کو روک رکھیں گے تم فرماؤ اللہ مجھے بس ہے بھروسے والے اس پر بھروسہ کریں، - Ahmed Raza

اور اگر آپ(ص) اُن سے پوچھیں کہ آسمانوں اور زمین کو کس نے پیدا کیا ہے؟ تو وہ یقینا کہیں گے کہ اللہ نے آپ(ص) کہیے! تمہارا کیا خیال ہے؟ جن کو تم اللہ کے سوا پکارتے ہو اگر اللہ مجھے کچھ نقصان پہنچانا چاہے تو کیا یہ اس کی جانب سے نقصان کو دور کر دیں گے؟ یا اگر اللہ مجھ پر کچھ رحمت کرنا چاہے تو کیا یہ اس کی رحمت کو روک سکتے ہیں؟ بس آپ(ص) کہہ دیجئے! کہ میرے لئے اللہ کافی ہے۔ بھروسہ کرنے والے اسی پر بھروسہ کرتے ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Lo! We have revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture for mankind with truth. Then whosoever goeth right it is for his soul, and whosoever strayeth, strayeth only to its hurt. And thou art not a warder over them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed We have sent down the Book to you with the truth for [the deliverance of] mankind. So whoever is guided is guided for his own sake, and whoever goes astray, goes astray to his own detriment, and it is not your duty to watch over them. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), We have revealed the Book to you for mankind in all truth. Whoever seeks guidance does so for his own good. Whosoever goes astray goes against his own soul. You are not their representative. - Sarwar, Muhammad

ٱللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى ٱلْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَٱلَّتِى لَمْ تَمُتْ فِى مَنَامِهَا ۖ فَيُمْسِكُ ٱلَّتِى قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Allah receiveth (men's) souls at the time of their death, and that (soul) which dieth not (yet) in its sleep. He keepeth that (soul) for which He hath ordained death and dismisseth the rest till an appointed term. Lo! herein verily are portents for people who take thought. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those who have not died, in their sleep. Then He retains those for whom He has ordained death and releases the others until a specified time. There are indeed signs in that for a people who reflect. - Qarai, Ali Quli

God will receive their souls when they die. Their souls do not die when they are sleeping. During people's sleep He withholds those souls which He has decreed to die and releases the others for an appointed time. In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the thoughtful people. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that die not during their sleep; then He withholds those on whom He has passed the decree of death and sends the others back till an appointed term; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect. - Shakir, Habib

اللہ ہی ہے جو روحوں کو موت کے وقت اپنی طرف بلالیتا ہے اور جو نہیں مرتے ہیں ان کی روحوں کو بھی نیند کے وقت طلب کرلیتا ہے اور پھر جس کی موت کا فیصلہ کرلیتا ہے اس کی روح کو روک لیتا ہے اور دوسری روحوں کو ایک مقررہ مدّت کے لئے آزاد کردیتا ہے - اس بات میں صاحبان هفکر و نظر کے لئے بہت سی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

وہ اللہ ہی ہے جو موت کے وقت روحیں قبض کرتا ہے اور جو ابھی نہیں مرا ہے اُس کی روح نیند میں قبض کر لیتا ہے، پھر جس پر وہ موت کا فیصلہ نافذ کرتا ہے اُسے روک لیتا ہے اور دوسروں کی روحیں ایک وقت مقرر کے لیے واپس بھیج دیتا ہے اِس میں بڑی نشانیاں ہیں اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو غور و فکر کرنے والے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اللہ جانوں کو وفات دیتا ہے ان کی موت کے وقت اور جو نہ مریں انہیں ان کے سوتے میں پھر جس پر موت کا حکم فرمادیا اسے روک رکھتا ہے اور دوسری ایک میعاد مقرر تک چھوڑ دیتا ہے بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانیاں ہیں سوچنے والوں کے لیے - Ahmed Raza

those who use their intelligence?]

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ شُفَعَآءَ ۚ قُلْ أَوَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ Or is that they take from inferior to the One mediators? Say, [Even if they were not possessors of a thing, and were not those who use their intelligence?]

Or choose they intercessors other than Allah? Say: What! Even though they have power over nothing and have no intelligence? - Pickthall, Marmaduke
