Have they not pondered upon themselves? Allah created not the heavens and the earth, and that which is between them, save with truth and for a destined end. But truly many of mankind are disbelievers in the meeting with their Lord. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةًۭ وَأَثَارُوا۟ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَعَمَرُوهَآ أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوهَا وَجَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Have they not travelled in the land and seen the nature of the consequence for those who were before them? They were stronger than these in power, and they dug the earth and built upon it more than these have built. Messengers of their own came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). Surely Allah wronged them not, but they did wrong themselves. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Have they not travelled in the land and seen how was the fate of those who were before them? They were more powerful than them, and they plowed the earth and developed it more than they have developed it. Their apostles brought them manifest proofs. So it was not Allah who wronged them, but it was they who used to wrong themselves. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The people who lived before them were stronger than them in might, in tilling, and in developing the earth. Our Messengers came to them with clear miracles. اور کیا یہ لوگ کبھی زمین میں چلے پھرے نہیں ہیں کہ اِنہیں اُن لوگوں کا انجام نظر آتا جو اِن سے پہلے گزر چکے ہیں؟ وہ اِن سے زیادہ طاقت رکھتے تھے، اُنہوں نے زمین کو خوب ادھیڑا تھا اور اُسے اتنا آباد کیا تھا جتنا اِنہوں نے نہیں کیا ہے اُن کے پاس ان کے رسول روشن نشانیاں لے کر آئے پھر اللہ ان پر ظلم کرنے والا نہ تھا، مگر وہ خود ہی اپنے اوپر ظلم کر رہے تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور کیا انہوں نے زمین میں سفر نہ کیا کہ دیکھتے کہ ان سے اگلوں کا انجام کیسا ہوا وہ ان سے زیادہ زور آور تھے اور زمین جوتی اور آباد کی ان کی آبادی سے زیادہ اور ان کے رسول ان کے پاس روشن نشانیاں لائے تو اللہ کی شان نہ تھی کہ ان پر ظلم کرتا ہاں وہ خود ہی اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کرتے تھے - Ahmed Raza

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَٰٓـُٔوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓأَىٰٓ أَن كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَانُوا۟ بِهَا يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Then evil was the consequence to those who dealt in evil, because they denied the revelations of Allah and made a mock of them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then the fate of those who committed misdeeds was that they denied the signs of Allah and they used to deride them. - Qarai, Ali Quli

There will be none to intercede for them of those whom they made equal with Allah. And they will reject their partners (whom they ascribed unto Him). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَلِقَآئِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]
⦿
But as for those who disbelieved and denied Our revelations, and denied the meeting of the Hereafter, such will be brought to doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But as for those who were faithless and denied Our signs and the encounter of the Hereafter, they will be brought to the punishment. - Qarai, Ali Quli

your partners,
لِّتَسْكُنُوٓا۟
to be tranquil
إِلَيْهَا
to them,
وَجَعَلَ
and placed
بَيْنَكُم
amongst you
مَّوَدَّةًۭ
love
وَرَحْمَةً
and compassion;
ۚ
إِنَّ
surely
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
that are
لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ
for sure signs
لِّقَوْمٍۢ
for a nation
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
who thinks.

وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا لِّتَسْكُنُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةًۭ وَرَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ And from His signs is that created for you all from yourselves, your partners, to be tranquil to them, and placed amongst you love and compassion; surely in that are for sure signs for a nation who thinks.
⦿
And of His signs is this: He created for you helpmeets from yourselves that ye might find rest in them, and He ordained between you love and mercy. Lo! herein indeed are portents for folk who reflect. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And of His signs is that He created for you mates from your own selves that you may take comfort in them, and He ordained affection and mercy between you. There are indeed signs in that for a people who reflect. - Qarai, Ali Quli

His creating spouses for you out of yourselves so that you might take comfort in them and His creating love and mercy among you. In this there is evidence (of the truth) for the people who (carefully) think. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And one of His signs is that He created mates for you from yourselves that you may find rest in them, and He put between you love and compassion; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect. - Shakir, Habib

Another of His signs is that He created for you from among yourselves spouses, so that you might find repose in them, and He created between you affection and kindness. Truly there are signs in this for people who reflect. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اس کی نشانیوں میں سے یہ بھی ہے کہ اس نے تمہارا جوڑا تم ہی میں سے پیدا کیاہے تاکہ تمہیں اس سے سکون حاصل ہو اورپھر تمہارے درمیان محبت اور رحمت قرار دی ہے کہ اس میں صاحبانِ فکر کے لئے بہت سی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اس کی نشانیوں میں سے یہ ہے کہ اس نے تمہارے لیے تمہاری ہی جنس سے بیویاں بنائیں تاکہ تم ان کے پاس سکون حاصل کرو اور تمہارے درمیان محبّت اور رحمت پیدا کر دی یقیناً اس میں بہت سی نشانیاں ہے اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو غور و فکر کرتے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And of His signs is your slumber by night and by day, and your seeking of His bounty. Lo! herein indeed are portents for folk who heed. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ يُرِيكُمُ ٱلْبَرْقَ خَوْفًۭا وَطَمَعًۭا وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَيُحْىِۦ بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْقِلُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And of His signs is this: He showeth you the lightning for a fear and for a hope, and sendeth down water from the sky, and thereby quickeneth the earth after her death. Lo! herein indeed are portents for folk who understand. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He it is Who produceth creation, then reproduceth it, and it is easier for Him. His is the Sublime Similitude in the heavens and the earth. He is the Mighty, the Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when harm toucheth men they cry unto their Lord, turning to Him in repentance; then, when they have tasted of His mercy, behold! some of them attribute partners to their Lord - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When distress befalls people, they supplicate their Lord, turning to Him in penitence. Then, when He lets them taste His mercy, behold, a part of them ascribe partners to their Lord, - Qarai, Ali Quli

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

See they not that Allah enlargeth the provision for whom He will, and straiteneth (it for whom He will). Lo! herein indeed are portents for folk who believe. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Do they not see that Allah expands the provision for whomever He wishes, and tightens it? There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith. - Qarai, Ali Quli

فَـَٔاتِ ذَا ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُۥ وَٱلْمِسْكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

So give to the kinsman his due, and to the needy, and to the wayfarer. That is best for those who seek Allah's Countenance. And such are they who are successful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اور تم قرابتدار مسکین اور غربت زدہ مسافر کو اس کا حق دے دو کہ یہ ان لوگوں کے حق میں خیر ہے جو رضائے الہٰی کے طلب گار ہیں اور وہی حقیقتا نجات حاصل کرنے والے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

That which ye give in usury in order that it may increase on (other) people's property hath no increase with Allah; but that which ye give in charity, seeking Allah's Countenance, hath increase manifold. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

What you give in usury in order that it may increase people]s wealth does not increase with Allah. But what you pay as zakat seeking Allah]s pleasure—it is they who will be given a manifold increase. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Allah is He Who created you and then sustained you, then causeth you to die, then giveth life to you again. Is there any of your (so-called) partners (of Allah) that doeth aught of that? Praised and Exalted be He above what they associate (with Him)! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اور آپ اپنے رخ کو مستقیم اور مستحکم دین کی طرف رکھیں قبل اس کے کہ وہ دن آجائے جس کی واپسی کا کوئی امکان نہیں ہے اور جس دن لوگ پریشان ہوکر الگ الگ ہوجائیں گے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

That He may reward out of His bounty those who believe and do good works. Lo! He loveth not the disbelievers (in His guidance). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Verily We sent before thee (Muhammad) messengers to their own folk. Then we took vengeance upon those who were guilty (in regard to them). To help believers is ever incumbent upon Us. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly We sent apostles to their people before you, and they brought them manifest proofs. Then We took vengeance upon those who were guilty, and it was a must for Us to help the faithful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), We had sent before you Our Messengers to their people. The Messengers showed them clear miracles and We took revenge on the criminals. It was necessary for Us to help the believers. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Allah is He Who sendeth the winds so that they raise clouds, and spreadeth them along the sky as pleaseth Him, and causeth them to break and thou seest the rain downpouring from within them. And when He maketh it to fall on whom He will of His bondmen, lo! they rejoice; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

It is Allah who sends the winds. Then they generate a cloud, then He spreads it as He wishes in the sky, and forms it into fragments, whereat you see the rain issuing from its midst. Then, when He strikes with it whomever of His servants that He wishes, behold, they rejoice; - Qarai, Ali Quli

اللہ ہی ہے جو ہواؤں کو بھیجتا ہے اور وہ بادل اٹھاتی ہیں، پھر وہ اِن بادلوں کو آسمان میں پھیلا دیتا ہے جس طرح چاہتا ہے اور انہیں ٹکڑیوں میں تقسیم کرتا ہے، پھر تُو دیکھتا ہے کہ بارش کے قطرے بادل سے ٹپکے چلے آتے ہیں یہ بارش جب وہ اپنے بندوں میں سے جن پر چاہتا ہے برساتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اللہ ہے کہ بھیجتا ہے ہوائیں کہ ابھارتی ہیں بادل پھر اسے پھیلادیتا ہے آسمان میں جیسا چاہے اور اسے پارہ پارہ کرتا ہے تو تُو دیکھے کہ اس کے یبچ میں مینھ نکل رہا ہے پھر جب اسے پہنچاتا ہے اپنے بندوں میں جس کی طرف چاہے جبھی وہ خوشیاں مناتے ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

For verily thou (Muhammad) canst not make the dead to hear, nor canst thou make the deaf to hear the call when they have turned to flee. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed you cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs [upon you], - Qarai, Ali Quli

Nor canst thou guide the blind out of their error. Thou canst make none to hear save those who believe in Our revelations so that they surrender (unto Him). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اللہ ہی وہ ہے جس نے کمزوری کی حالت سے تمہاری پیدائش کا آغاز کیا۔ پھر کمزوری کے بعد (تمہیں جوانی کی) قوت بخشی اور پھر اس نے قوت کے بعد کمزوری اور بڑھاپا پیدا کر دیا وہ جو چاہتا ہے پیدا کرتا ہے اور وہ بڑا جاننے والا، بڑی قدرت والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And on the day when the Hour riseth the guilty will vow that they did tarry but an hour - thus were they ever deceived. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

On the day when the Hour sets in, the guilty will swear that they had remained only for an hour. That is how they were used to lying [in the world]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

On the day when the Hour of Doom comes, the criminals will swear that they have remained (in their graves) for no more than an hour. They had been inventing lies in this way. - Sarwar, Muhammad

اور جس دن قیامت قائم ہوگی مجرم قسم کھائیں گے کہ نہ رہے تھے مگر ایک گھڑی وہ ایسے ہی اوندھے جاتے تھے - Ahmed Raza

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ وَٱلْإِيمَٰنَ لَقَدْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْبَعْثِ ۖ فَهَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْبَعْثِ وَلَٰكِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

But those to whom knowledge and faith are given will say: The truth is, ye have tarried, by Allah's decree, until the Day of Resurrection. This is the Day of Resurrection, but ye used not to know. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But those who were given knowledge and faith will say, [Certainly you remained in Allah]s Book until the Day of Resurrection. This is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not know.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Those who have received knowledge and have faith will say, [By the decree of God, you have remained for the exact period which was mentioned in the Book of God about the Day of Resurrection. This is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not know.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And those who are given knowledge and faith will say: Certainly you tarried according to the ordinance of Allah till the day of resurrection, so this is the day of resurrection, but you did not know. - Shakir, Habib

but those endowed with knowledge and faith will say, [Indeed, you did tarry, as God ordained, till the Day of Resurrection, and this is the Day of Resurrection: but you were not aware of it.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جن لوگوں کو علم اور ایمان دیا گیا ہے وہ کہیں گے کہ تم لوگ کتاب خدا کے مطابق قیامت کے دن تک ٹہرے رہے تو یہ قیامت کا دن ہے لیکن تم لوگ بے خبر بنے ہوئے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

مگر جو علم اور ایمان سے بہرہ مند کیے گئے تھے وہ کہیں گے کہ خدا کے نوشتے میں تو تم روزِ حشر تک پڑے رہے ہو، سو یہ وہی روزِ حشر ہے، لیکن تم جانتے نہ تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

In that day their excuses will not profit those who did injustice, nor will they be allowed to make amends. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The excuses of the unjust on this day will be of no avail to them and they will not be able to please God. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Verily We have coined for mankind in this Qur'an all kinds of similitudes; and indeed if thou camest unto them with a miracle, those who disbelieve would verily exclaim: Ye are but tricksters! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly we have drawn for mankind in this Quran every [kind of] parable. Indeed if you bring them a sign, the faithless will surely say, [You are nothing but fabricators!] - Qarai, Ali Quli

We have told people various parables in this Quran. Even if you had shown them a miracle, the unbelievers would have said, [You are only the followers of falsehood]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And certainly We have set forth for men every kind of example in this Quran; and if you should bring them a communication, those who disbelieve would certainly say: You are naught but false claimants. - Shakir, Habib

Truly, We have set forth for men in this Quran every kind of parable and indeed, if you bring them a sign, those who are bent on denying the truth are sure to say, [You are only making false claims!] - Wahiduddin Khan
