Think not that those who exult in what they have given, and love to be praised for what they have not done - Think not, they are in safety from the doom. A painful doom is theirs. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And belongs to the One
مُلْكُ
ownership of
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the Earth,
ۗ
وَٱللَّهُ
and the One is
عَلَىٰ
upon
كُلِّ
every
شَىْءٍۢ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
assigner of value.
And belongs to the One ownership of the heavens and the Earth, and the One is upon every thing assigner of value.

Unto Allah belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. Allah is Able to do all things. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Assuredly
فِى
in
خَلْقِ
creation of
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the atmospheres
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the land,
وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ
and the succession of
ٱلَّيْلِ
the dark
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
and the day-burst,
لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ
are for sure signs
لِّأُو۟لِى
for the foremost of
ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ
the rational ones.
٣
١٩٠
إِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَـَٔايَٰتٍۢ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ Assuredly in creation of the atmospheres and the land, and the succession of the dark and the day-burst, are for sure signs for the foremost of the rational ones.

Lo! In the creation of the heavens and the earth and (in) the difference of night and day are tokens (of His Sovereignty) for men of understanding, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The ones who
يَذْكُرُونَ
remember
ٱللَّهَ
the One
قِيَٰمًۭا
standing,
وَقُعُودًۭا
and sitting,
وَعَلَىٰ
and upon
جُنُوبِهِمْ
their sides,
وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ
and they reflect
فِى
in
خَلْقِ
creation of
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the atmospheres
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the land,
رَبَّنَا
[Our Nourisher!
مَا
Not
خَلَقْتَ
have You created
هَٰذَا
this
بَٰطِلًۭا
as pointless
سُبْحَٰنَكَ
— all glory to You —
فَقِنَا
thus save us from
عَذَابَ
punishment of
ٱلنَّارِ
the fire.]
٣
١٩١
ٱلَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمًۭا وَقُعُودًۭا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَٰطِلًۭا سُبْحَٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ The ones who remember the One standing, and sitting, and upon their sides, and they reflect in creation of the atmospheres and the land, [Our Nourisher! Not have You created this as pointless — all glory to You — thus save us from punishment of the fire.]

Such as remember Allah, standing, sitting, and reclining, and consider the creation of the heavens and the earth, (and say): Our Lord! Thou createdst not this in vain. Glory be to Thee! Preserve us from the doom of Fire. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who remember Allah standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth [and say], [Our Lord, You have not created this in vain! Immaculate are You! Save us from the punishment of the Fire. - Qarai, Ali Quli

It is these who commemorate God while standing, sitting, or resting on their sides and who think about the creation of the heavens and the earth and say, [Lord, you have not created all this without reason. Glory be to you. Lord, save us from the torment of the fire]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

جو اٹھتے، بیٹھتے اور لیٹتے، ہر حال میں خدا کو یاد کرتے ہیں اور آسمان و زمین کی ساخت میں غور و فکر کرتے ہیں (وہ بے اختیار بو ل اٹھتے ہیں) ——پروردگار! یہ سب کچھ تو نے فضول اور بے مقصد نہیں بنایا ہے، تو پاک ہے اس سے کہ عبث کام کرے پس اے رب! ہمیں دوزخ کے عذاب سے بچا لے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

[Our Rabb!
إِنَّكَ
Surely
مَن
whom
تُدْخِلِ
You make enter
ٱلنَّارَ
the fire
فَقَدْ
thus certainly
أَخْزَيْتَهُۥ
You have poured disgrace upon them
ۖ
وَمَا
and not
لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ
for the ones in darkness is
مِنْ
of
أَنصَارٍۢ
a helper.]

١٩٢
رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ ٱلنَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُۥ ۖ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍۢ [Our Rabb! Surely whom You make enter the fire thus certainly You have poured disgrace upon them and not for the ones in darkness is of a helper.]

Our Lord! Whom Thou causest to enter the Fire: him indeed Thou hast confounded. For evil-doers there will be no helpers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Our Lord, whoever that You make enter the Fire will surely have been disgraced by You, and the wrongdoers will have no helpers. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Those whom You submit to the fire are certainly disgraced. There is no helper for the unjust. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Our Lord! surely whomsoever Thou makest enter the fire, him Thou hast indeed brought to disgrace, and there shall be no helpers for the unjust: - Shakir, Habib

[Our Rabb!
إِنَّنَا
Indeed we
سَمِعْنَا
have heard
مُنَادِيًۭا
a loud
يُنَادِى
call
لِلْإِيمَٰنِ
for the trust
أَنْ
that
ءَامِنُوا۟
— [Have conviction
بِرَبِّكُمْ
regarding your Rabb!] —
فَـَٔامَنَّا
thus we have conviction;
ۚ
رَبَّنَا
our Rabb
فَٱغْفِرْ
then have forgiveness
لَنَا
for us for
ذُنُوبَنَا
our offenses,
وَكَفِّرْ
and deny
عَنَّا
against us
سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا
our offenses,
وَتَوَفَّنَا
and honour us
مَعَ
with
ٱلْأَبْرَارِ
the righteous.]

١٩٣
رَّبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًۭا يُنَادِى لِلْإِيمَٰنِ أَنْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَـَٔامَنَّا ۚ رَبَّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ [Our Rabb! Indeed we have heard a loud call for the trust that — [Have conviction regarding your Rabb!] — thus we have conviction; our Rabb then have forgiveness for us for our offenses, and deny against us our offenses, and honour us with the righteous.]

Our Lord! Lo! we have heard a crier calling unto Faith: [Believe ye in your Lord!] So we believed. Our Lord! Therefor forgive us our sins, and remit from us our evil deeds, and make us die the death of the righteous. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Our Lord, we have indeed heard a summoner calling to faith, declaring, [[Have faith in your Lord!]] So we believed. Our Lord, forgive us our sins and absolve us of our misdeeds, and make us die with the pious. - Qarai, Ali Quli

[Lord, we have heard the person calling to the faith and have accepted his call. Forgive our sins, expiate our bad deeds, and let us die with the righteous ones. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Our Lord! surely we have heard a preacher calling to the faith, saying: Believe in your Lord, so we did believe; Our Lord! forgive us therefore our faults, and cover our evil deeds and make us die with the righteous. - Shakir, Habib

Lord, we have heard a caller calling to the true faith saying, [Believe in your Lord,] and we believed. Lord, forgive us our sins and remove from us our bad deeds and make us die with the virtuous. - Wahiduddin Khan

پروردگار ہم نے اس منادی کو صَنا جو ایمان کی آواز لگا رہا تھا کہ اپنے پروردگار پر ایمان لے آؤ تو ہم ایمان لے آئے- پروردگار اب ہمارے گناہوں کو معاف فرما اور ہماری برائیوں کی پردہ پوشی فرما اور ہمیں نیک بندوں کے ساتھ محشور فرما - Jawadi, Zeeshan

مالک! ہم نے ایک پکارنے والے کو سنا جو ایمان کی طرف بلاتا تھا اور کہتا تھا کہ اپنے رب کو مانو ہم نے اس کی دعوت قبول کر لی، پس اے ہمارے آقا! جو قصور ہم سے ہوئے ہیں ان سے درگزر فرما، جو برائیاں ہم میں ہیں انہیں دور کر دے اور ہمارا خاتمہ نیک لوگوں کے ساتھ کر - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اے رب ہمارے ہم نے ایک منادی کو سنا کہ ایمان کے لئے ندا فرماتا ہے کہ اپنے رب پر ایمان لاؤ تو ہم ایمان لائے اے رب ہمارے تو ہمارے گنا بخش دے اور ہماری برائیاں محو فرمادے اور ہماری موت اچھوں کے ساتھ کر - Ahmed Raza

[Our Rabb!
وَءَاتِنَا
And give us
مَا

You pledged
عَلَىٰ

رُسُلِكَ
Your messengers,
وَلَا
and do not
تُخْزِنَا
pour disgrace upon us
يَوْمَ
on day of
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
the establishment;
ۗ
إِنَّكَ
certainly You
لَا
do not
تُخْلِفُ
change
ٱلْمِيعَادَ
the pledge.]

١٩٤
رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۗ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ [Our Rabb! And give us what You pledged upon Your messengers, and do not pour disgrace upon us on day of the establishment; certainly You do not change the pledge.]

Our Lord! And give us that which Thou hast promised to us by Thy messengers. Confound us not upon the Day of Resurrection. Lo! Thou breakest not the tryst. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And their Lord hath heard them (and He saith): Lo! I suffer not the work of any worker, male or female, to be lost. Ye proceed one from another. So those who fled and were driven forth from their homes and suffered damage for My cause, and fought and were slain, verily I shall remit their evil deeds from them and verily I shall bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow - A reward from Allah. And with Allah is the fairest of rewards. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then their Lord answered them, [I do not waste the work of any worker among you, whether male or female; you are all on the same footing. So those who migrated and were expelled from their homes, and were tormented in My way, and those who fought and were killed—I will surely absolve them of their misdeeds and I will admit them into gardens with streams running in them, as a reward from Allah, and Allah—with Him is the best of rewards.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Their Lord answered their prayers saying, [I do not neglect anyone's labor whether the laborer be male or female. You are all related to one another. Those who migrated from Mecca, those who were expelled from their homes, those who were tortured for My cause, and those who fought and were killed for My cause will find their sins expiated by Me and I will admit them into the gardens wherein streams flow. It will be their reward from God Who grants the best rewards.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

So their Lord accepted their prayer: That I will not waste the work of a worker among you, whether male or female, the one of you being from the other; they, therefore, who fled and were turned out of their homes and persecuted in My way and who fought and were slain, I will most certainly cover their evil deeds, and I will most certainly make them enter gardens beneath which rivers flow; a reward from Allah, and with Allah is yet better reward. - Shakir, Habib

پس خدا نے ان کی دعا کوقبول کیا کہ میں تم میںسے کسی بھی عمل کرنے والے کے عمل کو ضائع نہیں کروں گا چاہے وہ مرد ہو یا عورت- تم میں بعض بعض سے ہیں- پس جن لوگوں نے ہجرت کی اور اپنے وطن سے نکالے گئے اور میری راہ میں ستائے گئے اور انہوں نے جہاد کیا اور قتل ہوگئے تو میں ان کی برائیوں کی پردہ پوشی کروں گا اور انہیں ان جنتوں میں داخل کروں گا جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی- یہ خدا کی طرف سے ثواب ہے اور اس کے پاس بہترین ثواب ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جواب میں ان کے رب نے فرمایا، ——میں تم میں سے کسی کا عمل ضائع کرنے والا نہیں ہوں خواہ مرد ہو یا عورت، تم سب ایک دوسرے کے ہم جنس ہو لہٰذا جن لوگوں نے میری خاطر اپنے وطن چھوڑے اور جو میر ی راہ میں اپنے گھروں سے نکالے گئے اور ستائے گئے اور میرے لیے لڑے اور مارے گئے اُن کے سب قصور میں معاف کر دوں گا اور انہیں ایسے باغوں میں داخل کروں گا جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی یہ اُن کی جزا ہے اللہ کے ہاں اور بہترین جزا اللہ ہی کے پاس ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو ان کی دعا سن لی ان کے رب نے کہ میں تم میں کام والے کی محنت اکارت نہیں کرتا مرد ہو یا عورت تم آپس میں ایک ہو تو وہ جنہوں نے ہجرت کی اور اپنے گھروں سے نکالے گئے اور میری راہ میں ستائے گئے اور لڑے اور مارے گء ے میں ضرور ان کے سب گناہ اتار دوں گا اور ضرور انہیں باغوں میں لے جاؤں گا جن کے نیچے نہریں رواں اللہ کے پاس کا ثواب، اور اللہ ہی کے پاس اچھا ثواب ہے، - Ahmed Raza

سو ان کے پروردگار نے ان کی دعا و پکار کو قبول کر لیا (اور فرمایا) میں کسی عمل کرنے والے کے عمل کو خواہ مرد ہو یا عورت کبھی ضائع نہیں کرتا۔ تم سب ایک دوسرے کے ہم جنس ہی تو ہو۔ سو جن لوگوں نے ہجرت کی اور اپنے گھروں سے نکالے گئے۔ اور میری راہ میں انہیں ایذائیں دی گئیں۔ اور (دین کی خاطر) لڑے اور مارے گئے، تو میں ان کی برائیاں مٹا دوں گا اور ان کو ایسے بہشتوں میں داخل کروں گا جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی۔ یہ ہے اللہ کے ہاں ان کی جزا۔ اور اللہ کے پاس بہترین ثواب و جزاء ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Do not let delude you movement of the ones who are in denial in the city.
⦿
Let not the vicissitude (of the success) of those who disbelieve, in the land, deceive thee (O Muhammad). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

(Muhammad), do not be deceived by the changing activities of the unbelievers in different parts of the land. - Sarwar, Muhammad

اے سننے والے! کافروں کا شہروں میں اہلے گہلے پھرنا ہرگز تجھے دھوکا نہ دے - Ahmed Raza

Enjoyment of
قَلِيلٌۭ

their refuge is
جَهَنَّمُ
hell;
ۚ
وَبِئْسَ
and evil is
ٱلْمِهَادُ
that resting place.
Enjoyment of a little, then their refuge is hell; and evil is that resting place.

It is but a brief comfort. And afterward their habitation will be hell, an ill abode. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

لَهُمْ
for them are
جَنَّٰتٌۭ
gardens,
تَجْرِى
flowing
مِن
from
تَحْتِهَا
beneath them
ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ
the streams,
خَٰلِدِينَ
eternalized
فِيهَا
there in,
نُزُلًۭا
a hospitality
مِّنْ
from
عِندِ
nearing
ٱللَّهِ
the One;
ۗ
وَمَا
and that which is
عِندَ
nearing
ٱللَّهِ
the One is
خَيْرٌۭ
better
لِّلْأَبْرَارِ
for the righteous.

١٩٨
لَٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا نُزُلًۭا مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلْأَبْرَارِ But for the ones who are aware of their Rabb for them are gardens, flowing from beneath them the streams, eternalized there in, a hospitality from nearing the One; and that which is nearing the One is better for the righteous.

But those who keep their duty to their Lord, for them are Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will be safe for ever. A gift of welcome from their Lord. That which Allah hath in store is better for the righteous. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But those who are wary of their Lord—for them shall be gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them [forever], a hospitality from Allah; and what is with Allah is better for the pious. - Qarai, Ali Quli

For those who have fear of their Lord, there will be gardens wherein streams flow and they will live therein forever as a gift from their Lord. God has the best reward for the virtuous people. - Sarwar, Muhammad

But as to those who are careful of (their duty to) their Lord, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding in them; an entertainment from their Lord, and that which is with Allah is best for the righteous. - Shakir, Habib

Those who fear their Lord shall have gardens through which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever: and a goodly welcome from their Lord. God's recompense is best for the virtuous. - Wahiduddin Khan

لیکن جن لوگوں نے تقوٰی الٰہی اختیار کیا ان کے لئے وہ باغات ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی- خدا کی طرف سے یہ سامانِ ضیافت ہے اور جو کچھ اس کے پاس ہے سب نیک افراد کے لئے خیر ہی خیرہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan
