Lo! ye are those who love them though they love you not, and ye believe in all the Scripture. When they fall in with you they say: We believe; but when they go apart they bite their finger-tips at you, for rage. Say: Perish in your rage! Lo! Ah! You are the ones who bear love towards them, while they do not love you, though you believe in all the Books. When they meet you, they say, [We believe,] but when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you out of rage. تم ان سے محبت رکھتے ہو مگر وہ تم سے محبت نہیں رکھتے حالانکہ تم تمام کتب آسمانی کو مانتے ہو جب وہ تم سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے بھی (تمہارے رسول اور تمہاری کتاب کو) مان لیا ہے، مگر جب جدا ہوتے ہیں تو تمہارے خلاف ان کے غیظ و غضب کا یہ حال ہوتا ہے کہ اپنی انگلیاں چبانے لگتے ہیں ان سے کہہ دو کہ اپنے غصہ میں آپ جل مرو اللہ دلوں کے چھپے ہوئے راز تک جانتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

فَٱتَّقُوا۟
then be aware of
ٱللَّهَ
the One
لَعَلَّكُمْ
that perhaps you
تَشْكُرُونَ
may give thanks.

وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍۢ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌۭ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ And certainly supported you the One with immediate effect and you were a minority; then be aware of the One that perhaps you may give thanks.

Allah had already given you the victory at Badr, when ye were contemptible. So observe your duty to Allah in order that ye may be thankful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly Allah helped you at Badr, when you were weak [in the enemy]s eyes]. So be wary of Allah so that you may give thanks. - Qarai, Ali Quli

بَلَىٰٓ ۚ إِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ وَيَأْتُوكُم مِّن فَوْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِخَمْسَةِ ءَالَٰفٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Nay, but if ye persevere, and keep from evil, and (the enemy) attack you suddenly, your Lord will help you with five thousand angels sweeping on. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Yes, if you are steadfast and Godwary, and should they come at you suddenly, your Lord will aid you with five thousand angels sent in [to the scene of battle]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Certainly, if you have patience and piety, even if the enemy attacks immediately after this, God will help you with another force of five thousand angels, all splendidly (and or distinctly marked) dressed. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Allah ordained this only as a message of good cheer for you, and that thereby your hearts might be at rest - Victory cometh only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise - - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Allah did not appoint it but as a good news for you and to reassure with it your hearts; and victory comes only from Allah, the All-mighty, the All-wise, - Qarai, Ali Quli

The sending of the angels is a glad news from your Lord so that you would have more confidence in Him. No victory is real unless it is from God, the Majestic and All-wise. - Sarwar, Muhammad

It is no concern at all of thee (Muhammad) whether He relent toward them or punish them; for they are evil-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He gives pardon
لِمَن
to whomever
يَشَآءُ
He desires,
وَيُعَذِّبُ
and He punishes
مَن
who
يَشَآءُ
He desires,
ۚ
وَٱللَّهُ
and the One is
غَفُورٌۭ
oft forgiving,
رَّحِيمٌۭ
merciful.

١٢٩
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ And for the One is what is within the atmos and what is within the land. He gives pardon to whomever He desires, and He punishes who He desires, and the One is oft forgiving, merciful.

Unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. He forgiveth whom He will, and punisheth whom He will. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
