وَعَادًۭا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَٰكِنِهِمْ ۖ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud! (Their fate) is manifest unto you from their (ruined and deserted) dwellings. Satan made their deeds seem fair unto them and so debarred them from the Way, though they were keen observers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And [Ad and Thamud, [whose fate] is evident to you from their habitations. Satan made their deeds seem decorous to them, thus he barred them from the way [of Allah], though they used to be perceptive. - Qarai, Ali Quli

وَمَا

كَانُوا۟

سَٰبِقِينَ

وَقَٰرُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَٰمَٰنَ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ سَٰبِقِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And Korah, Pharaoh and Haman! Moses came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they were boastful in the land. And they were not winners (in the race). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And Korah, Pharaoh, and Haman. Certainly, Moses brought them manifest proofs, but they acted arrogantly in the land; though they could not outmaneuver [Allah]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Korah, the Pharaoh, and Haman were also destroyed. Moses had brought them illustrious miracles, but they were puffed-up with pride in the land and they could not defeat Us. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And (We destroyed) Qaroun and Firon and Haman; and certainly Musa came to them with clear arguments, but they behaved haughtily in the land; yet they could not outstrip (Us). - Shakir, Habib

اور قارون و فرعون و ہامان کو ہم نے ہلاک کیا موسیٰؑ اُن کے پاس بیّنات لے کر آیا مگر انہوں نے زمین میں اپنی بڑائی کا زعم کیا حالانکہ وہ سبقت لے جانے والے نہ تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنۢبِهِۦ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًۭا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

So We took each one in his sin; of them was he on whom We sent a hurricane, and of them was he who was overtaken by the (Awful) Cry, and of them was he whom We caused the earth to swallow, and of them was he whom We drowned. It was not for Allah to wrong them, but they wronged themselves. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So We seized each [of them] for his sin: among them were those upon whom We unleashed a rain of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the Cry, and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. We punished all of these people because of their sin. Some of them were struck by a violent sand-storm, some by a blast of sound, others were swallowed up by the earth, and some were drowned (in the sea). God did not do injustice to them, but they had wronged themselves. - Sarwar, Muhammad

So each We punished for his sin; of them was he on whom We sent down a violent storm, and of them was he whom the rumbling overtook, and of them was he whom We made to be swallowed up by the earth, and of them was he whom We drowned; and it did not beseem Allah that He should be unjust to them, but they were unjust to their own souls. - Shakir, Habib

آخر کار ہر ایک کو ہم نے اس کے گناہ میں پکڑا، پھر ان میں سے کسی پر ہم نے پتھراؤ کرنے والی ہوا بھیجی، اور کسی کو ایک زبردست دھماکے نے آ لیا، اور کسی کو ہم نے زمین میں دھسا دیا، اور کسی کو غرق کر دیا اللہ اُن پر ظلم کرنے والا نہ تھا، مگر وہ خود ہی اپنے اوپر ظلم کر رہے تھے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

The likeness of those who choose other patrons than Allah is as the likeness of the spider when she taketh unto herself a house, and lo! the frailest of all houses is the spider's house, if they but knew. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The parable of those who take guardians instead of Allah is that of the spider that takes a home, and indeed the frailest of homes is the home of a spider, had they known! - Qarai, Ali Quli

The belief of considering other things as one's guardians besides God is as feeble as a spider's web. The spider's web is the frailest of all dwellings, if only they knew it. - Sarwar, Muhammad

The parable of those who take guardians besides Allah is as the parable of the spider that makes for itself a house; and most surely the frailest of the houses is the spider's house did they but know. - Shakir, Habib

Indeed
ٱللَّهَ

وَهُوَ
and He is
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
the Strongest,
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
the Judge.
Indeed the One knows what you call upon from other than Him of things; and He is the Strongest, the Judge.

Lo! Allah knoweth what thing they invoke instead of Him. He is the Mighty, the Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Recite that which hath been inspired in thee of the Scripture, and establish worship. Lo! worship preserveth from lewdness and iniquity, but verily remembrance of Allah is more important. And Allah knoweth what ye do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book, and maintain the prayer. Indeed the prayer restrains from indecent and wrongful conduct, and the remembrance of Allah is surely greater. And Allah knows whatever [deeds] you do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), recite to them what has been revealed to you in the Book and be steadfast in prayer; prayer keeps one away from indecency and evil. It is the greatest act of worshipping God. God knows what you do. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And argue not with the People of the Scripture unless it be in (a way) that is better, save with such of them as do wrong; and say: We believe in that which hath been revealed unto us and revealed unto you; our Allah and your Allah is One, and unto Him we surrender. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Do not argue with the People of the Book except in a manner which is best, except such of them as are wrongdoers, and say, [We believe in what has been sent down to us and in what has been sent down to you; our God and your God is one [and the same], and to Him do we submit.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Do not argue with the People of the Book except only by the best manner, except the unjust among them. Tell them, [We believe in what is revealed to us and to you. Our Lord and your Lord is one. We have submitted ourselves to His will]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And do not dispute with the followers of the Book except by what is best, except those of them who act unjustly, and say: We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you, and our Allah and your Allah is One, and to Him do we submit. - Shakir, Habib

Believers, argue only in the best way with the People of the Book, [but contend not at all] with such of them as are unjust. Say, [We believe in what has been revealed to us, and what has been revealed to you; our God and your God are one; and to Him we submit.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اہلِ کتاب سے مناطرہ نہ کرو مگر اس انداز سے جو بہترین انداز ہے علاوہ ان سے جو ان میں سے ظالم ہیں اور یہ کہو کہ ہم اس پر ایمان لائے ہیں جو ہماری اور تمہاری دونوں کی طرف نازل ہوا ہے اور ہمارا اور تمہارا خدا ایک ہی ہے اور ہم سب اسی کے اطاعت گزار ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اہل کتاب سے بحث نہ کرو مگر عمدہ طریقہ سے، سوائے اُن لوگوں کے جو اُن میں سے ظالم ہوں، اور اُن سے کہو کہ ——ہم ایمان لائے ہیں اُس چیز پر بھی جو ہماری طرف بھیجی گئی ہے اور اُس چیز پر بھی جو تمہاری طرف بھیجی گئی تھی، ہمارا خدا اور تمہارا خدا ایک ہی ہے اور ہم اُسی کے مُسلم (فرماں بردار) ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اے مسلمانو! کتابیوں سے نہ جھگڑو مگر بہتر طریقہ پر مگر وہ جنہوں نے ان میں سے ظلم کیا اور کہو ہم ایمان لائے اس پر جو ہماری طرف اترا اور جو تمہاری طرف اترا اور ہمارا تمہارا ایک معبود ہے اور ہم اس کے حضور گردن رکھتے ہیں - Ahmed Raza

In like manner We have revealed unto thee the Scripture, and those unto whom We gave the Scripture aforetime will believe therein; and of these (also) there are some who believe therein. And none deny Our revelations save the disbelievers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Thus We have sent down the Book to you; those to whom We have given the Book believe in it, and of these there are some who believe in it, and none contests Our signs except the faithless. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We have revealed the Book to you. Some of the People of the Book and some of the pagans also believe in it. No one rejects Our revelations except the infidels. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And thus have We revealed the Book to you. So those whom We have given the Book believe in it, and of these there are those who believe in it, and none deny Our communications except the unbelievers. - Shakir, Habib

اور اسی طرح ہم نے آپ کی طرف کتاب نازل کی تو جن لوگوں کو ہم نے کتاب دی ہے وہ اس کتاب پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور ِن میں سے بھی بعض لوگ ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور ہماری آیات کا انکار کافروں کے علاوہ کوئی نہیں کرتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

(اے نبیؐ) ہم نے اِسی طرح تمہاری طرف کتاب نازل کی ہے، اس لیے وہ لوگ جن کو ہم نے پہلے کتاب دی تھی وہ اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں، اور اِن لوگوں میں سے بھی بہت سے اس پر ایمان لا رہے ہیں، اور ہماری آیات کا انکار صرف کافر ہی کرتے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اے محبوب! یونہی تمہاری طرف کتاب اتاری تو وہ جنہیں ہم نے کتا ب عطا فرمائی اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں، اور کچھ ان میں سے ہیں جو اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں، اور ہماری آیتوں سے منکر نہیں ہوتے مگر - Ahmed Raza

اور (اے رسول(ص)) ہم نے اسی طرح آپ پر کتاب نازل کی ہے (جس طرح پہلے رسولوں پر کتابیں نازل کی تھیں) تو جن کو ہم نے (پہلے) کتاب دی تھی وہ اس (قرآن) پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور ان (اہلِ مکہ و عرب) میں سے بھی بعض اس پر ایمان لا رہے ہیں اور ہماری آیتوں کا کافروں کے سوا اور کوئی انکار نہیں کرتا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
