Or (why is not) treasure thrown down unto him, or why hath he not a paradise from whence to eat? And the evil-doers say: Ye are but following a man bewitched. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And on the day when He will assemble them and that which they worship instead of Allah and will say: Was it ye who misled these my slaves or did they (themselves) wander from the way? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

On the day that He will muster them and those whom they worship besides Allah, He will say, [Was it you who led astray these servants of Mine, or did they themselves stray from the way?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

On the day when the unbelievers and whatever they had been worshipping besides God will be resurrected, He will ask the idols, [Did you mislead My servants or did they themselves go astray from the right path?] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And on the day when He shall gather them, and whatever they served besides Allah, He shall say: Was it you who led astray these My servants, or did they themselves go astray from the path? - Shakir, Habib

قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنۢبَغِى لَنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ مِن دُونِكَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ وَلَٰكِن مَّتَّعْتَهُمْ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ نَسُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۢا بُورًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

They will say: Be Thou Glorified! it was not for us to choose any protecting friends beside thee; but Thou didst give them and their fathers ease till they forgot the warning and became lost folk. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They will say, [Immaculate are You! It does not behoove us to take any wali in Your stead! But You provided for them and their fathers until they forgot the Reminder, and they were a ruined lot.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They will reply, [Lord, You alone deserve all glory! We were not supposed to choose any guardian other than you. Since you have been benevolent to these people and their fathers, they forgot Your guidance and, thus, became subject to perdition.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

They shall say: Glory be to Thee; it was not beseeming for us that we should take any guardians besides Thee, but Thou didst make them and their fathers to enjoy until they forsook the reminder, and they were a people in perdition, - Shakir, Habib

Thus they will give you the lie regarding what ye say, then ye can neither avert (the doom) nor obtain help. And whoso among you doeth wrong, We shall make him taste great torment. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So they will certainly impugn you in what you say, and you will neither be able to circumvent [punishment] nor find help, and whoever of you does wrong, We shall make him taste a terrible punishment. - Qarai, Ali Quli

God will say (to the idolaters), [Your idols have rejected your faith. You cannot avoid their rejection nor can you find any help. Anyone of you who commits injustice will be made to suffer a great torment.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

We never sent before thee any messengers but lo! they verily ate food and walked in the markets. And We have appointed some of you a test for others: Will ye be steadfast? And thy Lord is ever Seer. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who do not expect to encounter Us say, [Why have angels not been sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?] Certainly, they are full of arrogance within their souls and have become terribly defiant. - Qarai, Ali Quli

On the day when they behold the angels, on that day there will be no good tidings for the guilty; and they will cry: A forbidding ban! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

On the day when the wrong-doer gnaweth his hands, he will say: Ah, would that I had chosen a way together with the messenger (of Allah)! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And those who disbelieve say: Why is the Qur'an not revealed unto him all at once? (It is revealed) thus that We may strengthen thy heart therewith; and We have arranged it in right order. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The faithless say, [Why has not the Quran been sent down to him all at once?] So it was, that We may strengthen your heart with it, and We have recited it [to you] in a measured tone. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The unbelievers have said, [Why was the whole Quran not revealed to him at once?] We have revealed it to you in gradual steps to strengthen your hearts and give you explanations. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And those who disbelieve say: Why has not the Quran been revealed to him all at once? Thus, that We may strengthen your heart by it and We have arranged it well in arranging. - Shakir, Habib

Those who deny the truth say, [Why was the Quran not sent down to him in a single revelation?] We sent it in this manner, so that We might strengthen your heart. We gave it to you in gradual revelation. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور یہ کافر یہ بھی کہتے ہیں کہ آخر انِ پر یہ قرآن ایک دفعہ کِل کاکِل کیوں نہیں نازل ہوگیا-ہم اسی طرح تدریجا نازل کرتے ہیں تاکہ تمہارے دل کو مطمئن کرسکیں اور ہم نے اسے ٹھہر ٹھہر کر نازل کیا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

منکرین کہتے ہیں ——اِس شخص پر سارا قرآن ایک ہی وقت میں کیوں نہ اتار دیا گیا؟—— ہاں، ایسا اس لیے کیا گیا ہے کہ اس کو اچھی طرح ہم تمہارے ذہن نشین کرتے رہیں اور (اسی غرض کے لیے) ہم نے اس کو ایک خاص ترتیب کے ساتھ الگ الگ اجزاء کی شکل دی ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Those who will be gathered on their faces unto hell: such are worse in plight and further from the right road. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

فَقُلْنَا ٱذْهَبَآ إِلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَدَمَّرْنَٰهُمْ تَدْمِيرًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Then We said: Go together unto the folk who have denied Our revelations. Then We destroyed them, a complete destruction. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ لَّمَّا كَذَّبُوا۟ ٱلرُّسُلَ أَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ ءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And Noah's folk, when they denied the messengers, We drowned them and made of them a portent for mankind. We have prepared a painful doom for evil-doers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And Noah]s people, We drowned them when they impugned the apostles, and We made them a sign for mankind, and We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment. - Qarai, Ali Quli

And indeed they have passed by the township whereon was rained the fatal rain. Can it be that they have not seen it? Nay, but they hope for no resurrection. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

إِن كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لَوْلَآ أَن صَبَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا ۚ وَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ حِينَ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْعَذَابَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

He would have led us far away from our gods if we had not been staunch to them. They will know, when they behold the doom, who is more astray as to the road. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اِس نے تو ہمیں گمراہ کر کے اپنے معبودوں سے برگشتہ ہی کر دیا ہوتا اگر ہم اُن کی عقیدت پر جم نہ گئے ہوتے—— اچھا، وہ وقت دور نہیں ہے جب عذاب دیکھ کر اِنہیں خود معلوم ہو جائے گا کہ کون گمراہی میں دور نکل گیا تھا - Maududi, Abul A'ala
