رِجَالٌۭ

رِجَالٌۭ لَّا تُلْهِيهِمْ تِجَٰرَةٌۭ وَلَا بَيْعٌ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِقَامِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءِ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ ۙ يَخَافُونَ يَوْمًۭا تَتَقَلَّبُ فِيهِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ

⦿

Men whom neither merchandise nor sale beguileth from remembrance of Allah and constancy in prayer and paying to the poor their due; who fear a day when hearts and eyeballs will be overturned;

⦿

by men whom neither trade nor bargaining distracts from the remembrance of Allah and the maintenance of prayer and the giving of zakat. They are fearful of a day wherein the hearts and the sights will be transformed,

by people, who can neither be diverted by merchandise nor bargaining from worshipping God, saying their prayers and paying religious tax. They do these things, for they are afraid of the day when all hearts and eyes will undergo terrible unrest and crisis.

اُن میں ایسے لوگ صبح و شام اُس کی تسبیح کرتے ہیں جنہیں تجارت اور خرید و فروخت اللہ کی یاد سے اور اقامت نماز و ادائے زکوٰۃ سے غافل نہیں کر دیتی وہ اُس دن سے ڈرتے رہتے ہیں جس میں دل الٹنے اور دیدے پتھرا جانے کی نوبت آ جائے گی

⦿

وہ مرد جنہیں غافل نہیں کرتا کوئی سودا اور نہ خرید و فروخت اللہ کی یاد اور نماز برپا رکھنے اور زکوٰة دینے سے ڈرتے ہیں اس دن سے جس میں الٹ جائیں گے دل اور آنکھیں

جنہیں کوئی تجارت اور (خرید) فروخت اللہ کی یاد سے نماز پڑھنے سے اور زکوٰۃ دینے سے غافل نہیں کرتی (کیونکہ) وہ اس دن سے ڈرتے ہیں جس میں دل اور نگاہیں الٹ پلٹ ہو جائیں گی۔

لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَيَزِيدَهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِۦ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ

That Allah may reward them with the best of what they did, and increase reward for them of His bounty. Allah giveth blessings without stint to whom He will.

so that Allah may reward them by the best of what they have done, and enhance them out of His grace, and Allah provides for whomever He wishes without any reckoning.

٣٩

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ كَسَرَابٍۭ بِقِيعَةٍۢ يَحْسَبُهُ ٱلظَّمْـَٔانُ مَآءً حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَهُۥ لَمْ يَجِدْهُ شَيْـًۭٔا وَوَجَدَ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥ فَوَفَّىٰهُ حِسَابَهُۥ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ

⦿

As for those who disbelieve, their deeds are as a mirage in a desert. The thirsty one supposeth it to be water till he cometh unto it and findeth it naught, and findeth, in the place thereof, Allah Who payeth him his due; and Allah is swift at reckoning.

As for the faithless, their works are like a mirage in a plain, which the thirsty man supposes to be water. When he comes to it, he finds it to be nothing; but there he finds Allah, who will pay him his full account, and Allah is swift at reckoning.

The deeds of the unbelievers are like a mirage which a thirsty man thinks is water until he goes near and finds nothing. Instead he finds God who gives him his due recompense. God's reckoning is swift.

And (as for) those who disbelieve, their deeds are like the mirage in a desert, which the thirsty man deems to be water; until when he comes to it he finds it to be naught, and there he finds Allah, so He pays back to him his reckoning in full; and Allah is quick in reckoning;

اور جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کرلیا ان کے اعمال اس ریت کے مانند ہیں جو چٹیل میدان میں ہو اور پیاسا اسے دیکھ کر پانی تصور کرے اور جب اس کے قریب پہنچے تو کچھ نہ پائے بلکہ اس خدا کو پائے جو اس کا پورا پورا حساب کردے کہ اللہ بہت جلد حساب کرنے والا ہے

(اس کے برعکس) جنہوں نے کفر کیا ان کے اعمال کی مثال ایسی ہے جیسے دشت بے آب میں سراب کہ پیاسا اُس کو پانی سمجھے ہوئے تھا، مگر جب وہاں پہنچا تو کچھ نہ پایا، بلکہ وہاں اس نے اللہ کو موجود پایا، جس نے اس کا پورا پورا حساب چکا دیا، اور اللہ کو حساب لیتے دیر نہیں لگتی

اور جو کافر ہوئے ان کے کام ایسے ہیں جیسے دھوپ میں چمکتا ریتا کسی جنگل میں کہ پیاسا اسے پانی سمجھے، یہاں تک جب اس کے پاس آیا تو اسے کچھ نہ پایا اور اللہ کو اپنے قریب پایا تو اس نے اس کا حساب پورا بھردیا، اور اللہ جلد حساب کرلیتا ہے

اور جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کیا ان کے اعمال سراب کی مانند ہیں جو ایک چٹیل میدان میں ہو۔ جسے آدمی پانی خیال کرتا ہے یہاں تک کہ جب اس کے پاس جاتا ہے تو اسے کچھ نہیں پاتا بلکہ وہاں اللہ کو موجود پاتا ہے۔ جس نے اس کا پورا پورا حساب چکا دیا۔ اور اللہ بہت جلدی حساب لینے والا ہے۔

أَوْ كَظُلُمَٰتٍۢ فِى بَحْرٍۢ لُّجِّىٍّۢ يَغْشَىٰهُ مَوْجٌۭ مِّن فَوْقِهِۦ مَوْجٌۭ مِّن فَوْقِهِۦ سَحَابٌۭ ۚ ظُلُمَٰتٌۢ بَعْضُهَا فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ إِذَآ أَخْرَجَ يَدَهُۥ لَمْ يَكَدْ يَرَىٰهَا ۗ وَمَن لَّمْ يَجْعَلِ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥ نُورًۭا فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن نُّورٍ

⦿

Or as darkness on a vast, abysmal sea. There covereth him a wave, above which is a wave, above which is a cloud. Layer upon layer of darkness. When he holdeth out his hand he scarce can see it. And he for whom Allah hath not appointed light, for him there is no light.

Or like the manifold darkness in a deep sea, covered by billow upon billow, overcast by clouds; manifold [layers of] darkness, one on top of another: when he brings out his hand, he can hardly see it. One whom Allah has not granted any light has no light.

Or it (the deeds of the unbelievers) are like the darkness of a deep, stormy sea with layers of giant waves, covered by dark clouds. It is darkness upon darkness whereby even if one stretches out his hands he can not see them. One can have no light unless God gives him light.

Or like utter darkness in the deep sea: there covers it a wave above which is another wave, above which is a cloud, (layers of) utter darkness one above another; when he holds out his hand, he is almost unable to see it; and to whomsoever Allah does not give light, he has no light.

Or like darkness on a deep ocean covered by waves billowing over waves and overcast with clouds: darkness upon darkness. If he stretches out his hand, he can scarcely see it. Indeed, the man from whom God withholds His light shall find no light at all.

یا ان اعمال کی مثال اس گہرے دریا کی تاریکیوں کی ہے جسے ایک کے اوپر ایک لہر ڈھانک لے اور اس کے اوپر تہ بہ تہ بادل بھی ہوں کہ جب وہ اپنے ہاتھ کو نکالے تو تاریکی کی بنا پر کچھ نظر نہ آئے اور جس کے لئے خدا نور نہ قرار دے اس کے لئے کوئی نور نہیں ہے

یا پھر اس کی مثال ایسی ہے جیسے ایک گہرے سمندر میں اندھیرا، کہ اوپر ایک موج چھائی ہوئی ہے، اُس پر ایک اور موج، اور اس کے اوپر بادل، تاریکی پر تاریکی مسلط ہے، آدمی اپنا ہاتھ نکالے تو اسے بھی نہ دیکھنے پائے جسے اللہ نور نہ بخشے اُس کے لیے پھر کوئی نور نہیں

یا جیسے اندھیریاں کسی کنڈے کے (گہرائی والے) دریا میں اس کے اوپر موج مو ج کے اوپر اور موج اس کے اوپر بادل، اندھیرے ہیں ایک پر ایک جب اپنا ہاتھ نکالے تو سوجھائی دیتا معلوم نہ ہو اور جسے اللہ نور نہ دے اس کے لیے کہیں نور نہیں

یا پھر ان کی مثال ایسی ہے جیسے گہرے سمندر میں اندھیرا۔ کہ اسے ایک موج ڈھانپ لے پھر اس (موج) کے اوپر ایک اور موج ہو۔ اور پھر اس کے اوپر بادل ہو۔ الغرض اندھیروں پر اندھیرا کہ اگر کوئی اپنا ہاتھ نکالے تو اسے دیکھ نہ پائے اور جسے اللہ نور (ہدایت) نہ دے تو اس کے لئے کوئی نور نہیں ہے۔

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلطَّيْرُ صَٰٓفَّٰتٍۢ ۖ كُلٌّۭ قَدْ عَلِمَ صَلَاتَهُۥ وَتَسْبِيحَهُۥ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ

⦿

Hast thou not seen that Allah, He it is Whom all who are in the heavens and the earth praise, and the birds in their flight? Of each He knoweth verily the worship and the praise; and Allah is Aware of what they do.

⦿

Have you not regarded that Allah is glorified by everyone in the heavens and the earth, and the birds spreading their wings. Each knows his prayer and glorification, and Allah knows best what they do.

⦿

Have you not considered that all that is between the heavens and the earth glorifies God and that the birds spread their wings in the air to glorify God? He knows everyone's prayers and praising; God has absolute knowledge of what they do.

⦿

Do you not see that Allah is He Whom do glorify all those who are in the heavens and the earth, and the (very) birds with expanded wings? He knows the prayer of each one and its glorification, and Allah is Cognizant of what they do.

[Prophet], do you not see that all those who are in the heavens and on earth praise God, as do the birds with wings outstretched? Each knows his own mode of prayer and glorification: God has full knowledge of all that they do.

کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ اللہ کے لئے زمین و آسمان کی تمام مخلوقات اور فضا کے صف بستہ طائر سب تسبیح کررہے ہیں اور سب اپنی اپنی نماز اور تسبیح سے باخبر ہیں اور اللہ بھی ان کے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے

کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں ہو کہ اللہ کی تسبیح کر رہے ہیں وہ سب جو آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہیں اور وہ پرندے جو پر پھیلا ئے اڑ رہے ہیں؟ ہر ایک اپنی نماز اور تسبیح کا طریقہ جانتا ہے، اور یہ سب جو کچھ کرتے ہیں اللہ اس سے باخبر رہتا ہے

کیا تم نے نہ دیکھا کہ اللہ کی تسبیح کرتے ہیں جو کوئی آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہیں اور پرندے پر پھیلائے سب نے جان رکھی ہے اپنی نماز اور اپنی تسبیح، اور اللہ ان کے کاموں کو جانتا ہے،

وَلِلَّهِ

And belongs to the One

مُلْكُ

ownership of

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

the heavens

وَٱلْأَرْضِ

and the Earth;

وَإِلَى

and towards

ٱللَّهِ

the One is

ٱلْمَصِيرُ

the destination.

٢٤

٤٢

وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

And belongs to the One ownership of the heavens and the Earth; and towards the One is the destination.

And unto Allah belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and unto Allah is the journeying.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُزْجِى سَحَابًۭا ثُمَّ يُؤَلِّفُ بَيْنَهُۥ ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُۥ رُكَامًۭا فَتَرَى ٱلْوَدْقَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلَٰلِهِۦ وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن جِبَالٍۢ فِيهَا مِنۢ بَرَدٍۢ فَيُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَصْرِفُهُۥ عَن مَّن يَشَآءُ ۖ يَكَادُ سَنَا بَرْقِهِۦ يَذْهَبُ بِٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ

Hast thou not seen how Allah wafteth the clouds, then gathereth them, then maketh them layers, and thou seest the rain come forth from between them; He sendeth down from the heaven mountains wherein is hail, and smiteth therewith whom He will, and averteth it from whom He will. The flashing of His lightning all but snatcheth away the sight.

Have you not regarded that Allah drives the clouds, then He composes them, then He piles them up, whereat you see the rain issuing from its midst? And He sends down hail from the sky, out of the mountains that are in it, and He strikes with it whomever He wishes, and turns it away from whomever He wishes. The brilliance of its lightening almost takes away the sight.

Do you not see that God moves the clouds gently, brings them together, piles them up, and then you can see the rain coming from them. He sends down hailstones from the mountains in the sky. With them He strikes or protects from them whomever He wants. The lightening can almost take away the sight.

کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں ہو کہ اللہ بادل کو آہستہ آہستہ چلاتا ہے، پھر اس کے ٹکڑوں کو باہم جوڑتا ہے، پھر اسے سمیٹ کر ایک کثیف ابر بنا دیتا ہے، پھر تم دیکھتے ہو کہ اس کے خول میں سے بارش کے قطرے ٹپکتے چلے آتے ہیں اور وہ آسمان سے، اُن پہاڑوں کی بدولت جو اس میں بلند ہیں، اولے برساتا ہے، پھر جسے چاہتا ہے ان کا نقصان پہنچاتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ان سے بچا لیتا ہے اُس کی بجلی کی چمک نگاہوں کو خیرہ کیے دیتی ہے

کیا تو نے نہ دیکھا کہ اللہ نرم نرم چلاتا ہے بادل کو پھر انہیں آپس میں مِلاتا ہے پھر انہیں تہہ پر تہہ کردیتا ہے تو تُو دیکھے کہ اس کے بیچ میں سے مینہ نکلتا ہے اور اتارتا ہے آسمان سے اس میں جو برف کے پہاڑ ہیں ان میں سے کچھ اولے پھر ڈالنا ہے انہیں جس پر چاہے اور پھیردیتا ہے انہیں جس سے چاہے قریب ہے کہ اس کی بجلی کی چمک آنکھ لے جائے

کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ اللہ بادل کو آہستہ آہستہ چلاتا ہے۔ پھر اس کے ٹکڑوں کو باہم ملاتا ہے۔ پھر اسے تہہ بہ تہہ کر دیتا ہے پھر تم دیکھتے ہو کہ اس کے درمیان سے بارش نکلواتا ہے اور وہ (اللہ) آسمان سے پہاڑوں کی شکل کے بادلوں سے برف یعنی اولے برساتا ہے پھر ان کو جس پر چاہتا ہے گرا دیتا ہے اور جس سے چاہتا ہے ہٹا دیتا ہے قریب ہے کہ اس کی بجلی کی چمک آنکھوں (کی بینائی) کو لے جائے۔

وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَ كُلَّ دَآبَّةٍۢ مِّن مَّآءٍۢ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّن يَمْشِى عَلَىٰ بَطْنِهِۦ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَمْشِى عَلَىٰ رِجْلَيْنِ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَمْشِى عَلَىٰٓ أَرْبَعٍۢ ۚ يَخْلُقُ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ

Allah hath created every animal of water. Of them is (a kind) that goeth upon its belly and (a kind) that goeth upon two legs and (a kind) that goeth upon four. Allah createth what He will. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.

وَيَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلرَّسُولِ وَأَطَعْنَا ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

And they say: We believe in Allah and the messenger, and we obey; then after that a faction of them turn away. Such are not believers.

This website is a work of passion. It exists only for a couple of reasons:

1) I wanted to understand the Book without involving any second-party sources of guidance i.e. exegesis, or Asbab-e-Nuzul, or extra-Quranic ahadith, etc.
2) You must also know what the bare truth is, so we can work together.

Because the process must be transparent, the entire website is available for you to download. You can go through the code, and if you can make any improvements to this process, you are most welcome to. It is a humble request to update me regarding the improvements so I can also update myself.

Due Credits:

This website was possible by help of many people and forums who helped me to learn Arabic, Philosophy, Law, Psychology, and PHP and other Web scripts. To be honest, I do not even know the names of many but I did learn from them. Some of these people were already dead by the time I read their input.

The entire code of this website is available for the same reason, that what they taught me, I can only pay it forward.

The Arabic text of the Quran was obtained from Tanzil. The additional translations were also obtained from Tanzil from this link.

The social-sharing images of verses were obtained from Legacy Quran.com, and were then resized for proper social-media display.
