أَرْسَلْنَا
We sent
نُوحًا
Nooh
إِلَىٰ
towards
قَوْمِهِۦ
his nation,
فَقَالَ
thus he said,
يَٰقَوْمِ
[O nation!
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
Be in servitude of
ٱللَّهَ
the One,
مَا
not
لَكُم
for you is
مِّنْ
from
إِلَٰهٍ
an unchallenged master
غَيْرُهُۥٓ
except him;
ۖ
أَفَلَا
then why do not
تَتَّقُونَ
you take heed?]

٢٣
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ And certainly We sent Nooh towards his nation, thus he said, [O nation! Be in servitude of the One, not for you is from an unchallenged master except him; then why do not you take heed?]

And We verily sent Noah unto his folk, and he said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil)? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly We sent Noah to his people, and he said, [O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. Will you not then be wary [of Him]?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

We sent Noah to his people who said, [My people, worship God for He is your only Lord. Will you then not have fear of Him?] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And certainly We sent Nuh to his people, and he said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; will you not then guard (against evil)? - Shakir, Habib

فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَنزَلَ مَلَٰٓئِكَةًۭ مَّا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَآئِنَا ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

But the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: This is only a mortal like you who would make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels. We heard not of this in the case of our fathers of old. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But the elite of the faithless from among his people said, [This is just a human being like you, who seeks to dominate you. Had Allah wished, He would have sent down angels. We never heard of such a thing among our forefathers. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The chiefs of the unbelievers said to the others, [He is a mere mortal like you. He wants only to be superior to you. Had God wanted He would have sent the angels (instead of him). We have never heard from our fathers anything like what he says. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And the chiefs of those who disbelieved from among his people said: He is nothing but a mortal like yourselves who desires that he may have superiority over you, and if Allah had pleased, He could certainly have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our fathers of yore: - Shakir, Habib

The leaders of his people who denied the truth, said, [He is only a human being like yourselves who wants to make himself superior to you. If God had wished, He would have sent down angels. We never heard about this from our forefathers. - Wahiduddin Khan

ان کی قوم کے کافر رؤسائ نے کہا کہ یہ نوح تمہارے ہی جیسے انسان ہیں جو تم پر برتری حاصل کرنا چاہتے ہیں حالانکہ خدا چاہتا تو ملائکہ کو بھی نازل کرسکتا تھا. یہ تو ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا سے کبھی نہیں سنا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اس کی قوم کے جن سرداروں نے ماننے سے انکار کیا وہ کہنے لگے کہ ——یہ شخص کچھ نہیں ہے مگر ایک بشر تم ہی جیسا اِس کی غرض یہ ہے کہ تم پر برتری حاصل کرے اللہ کو اگر بھیجنا ہوتا تو فرشتے بھیجتا یہ بات تو ہم نے کبھی اپنے باپ دادا کے وقتوں میں سنی ہی نہیں (کہ بشر رسول بن کر آئے) - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Then We inspired in him, saying: Make the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration. Then, when Our command cometh and the oven gusheth water, introduce therein of every (kind) two spouses, and thy household save him thereof against whom the Word hath already gone forth. And plead not with Me on behalf of those who have done wrong. Lo! they will be drowned. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So We revealed to him: [Build the ark before Our eyes and by Our revelation. When Our edict comes and the oven gushes [a stream of water], bring into it a pair of every kind [of animal], and your family, except those of them against whom the decree has gone beforehand, and do not plead with Me for those who are wrongdoers: they shall indeed be drowned.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

We inspired him, saying, [Build the Ark before Our eyes and by the instruction of Our revelation. When our decree comes to pass and water comes forth from the Oven, embark in the Ark with a pair of every kind of animals and your family except those already doomed (to perish). Do not plead with Me for the unjust; they will be drowned.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

So We revealed to him, saying: Make the ark before Our eyes and (according to) Our revelation; and when Our command is given and the valley overflows, take into it of every kind a pair, two, and your followers, except those among them against whom the word has gone forth, and do not speak to Me in respect of those who are unjust; surely they shall be drowned. - Shakir, Habib

When Our command comes, and waters gush up out of the earth, take on board pairs of every species and members of your household, except for any of them on whom sentence has already been passed -- do not plead with Me for those who have done wrong: they shall be drowned. - Wahiduddin Khan

تو ہم نے ان کی طرف وحی کی کہ ہماری نگاہ کے سامنے اور ہمارے اشارہ کے مطابق کشتی بناؤ اور پھر جب ہمارا حکم آجائے اور تنور ابلنے لگے تو اسی کشتی میں ہر جوڑے میں سے دو دو کو لے لینا اور اپنے اہل کو لے کر روانہ ہوجانا علاوہ ان افراد کے جن کے بارے میں پہلے ہی ہمارا فیصلہ ہوچکا ہے اور مجھ سے ظلم کرنے والوں کے بارے میں گفتگو نہ کرنا کہ یہ سب غرق کردیئے جانے والے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ہم نے اس پر وحی کی کہ ——ہماری نگرانی میں اور ہماری وحی کے مطابق کشتی تیار کر پھر جب ہمارا حکم آ جائے اور تنور ابل پڑے تو ہر قسم کے جانوروں میں سے ایک ایک جوڑا لے کر اس میں سوار ہو جا، اور اپنے اہل و عیال کو بھی ساتھ لے سوائے اُن کے جن کے خلاف پہلے ہی فیصلہ ہو چکا ہے، اور ظالموں کے معاملہ میں مجھ سے کچھ نہ کہنا، یہ اب غرق ہونے والے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تو ہم نے اسے وحی بھیجی کہ ہماری نگاہ کے سامنے اور ہمارے حکم سے کشتی بنا پھر جب ہمارا حکم آئے اور تنور ابلے تو اس میں بٹھالے ہر جوڑے میں سے دو اور اپنے گھر والے مگر ان میں سے وہ جن پر بات پہلے پڑچکی اور ان ظالموں کے معاملہ میں مجھ سے بات نہ کرنا یہ ضرور ڈبوئے جائیں گے، - Ahmed Raza

فَإِذَا ٱسْتَوَيْتَ أَنتَ وَمَن مَّعَكَ عَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى نَجَّىٰنَا مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And when thou art on board the ship, thou and whoso is with thee, then say: Praise be to Allah Who hath saved us from the wrongdoing folk! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[When you, and those who are with you, are settled in the ark, say, [[All praise belongs to Allah, who has delivered us from the wrongdoing lot.]] - Qarai, Ali Quli

When all of you settle in the Ark, say, [Only God Who has saved us from the unjust people deserves all praise]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when you are firmly seated, you and those with you, in the ark, say: All praise is due to Allah who delivered us from the unjust people: - Shakir, Habib

اس کے بعد جب تم اپنے ساتھیوں سمیت کشتی پر اطمینان سے بیٹھ جانا تو کہنا کہ شکر ہے اس پروردگار کا جس نے ہم کو ظالم قوم سے نجات دلادی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan
