وَأَصْحَٰبُ مَدْيَنَ ۖ وَكُذِّبَ مُوسَىٰ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

(And) the dwellers in Midian. And Moses was denied; but I indulged the disbelievers a long while, then I seized them, and how (terrible) was My abhorrence! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

and the inhabitants of Midian, and Moses was also impugned. But I gave the faithless a respite, then I seized them and how was My rebuttal! - Qarai, Ali Quli

Midian, and Moses had also called their Prophets liars. I gave respite to the unbelievers, then sized them with torment. How terrible was that torment! - Sarwar, Muhammad

As well as those of Madyan and Musa (too) was rejected, but I gave respite to the unbelievers, then did I overtake them, so how (severe) was My disapproval. - Shakir, Habib

How many a township have We destroyed while it was sinful, so that it lieth (to this day) in ruins, and (how many) a deserted well and lofty tower! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

How many towns We have destroyed when they had been wrongdoers! So they lie fallen on their trellises, their wells neglected and their ruined palaces! - Qarai, Ali Quli

While those who strive to thwart Our revelations, such are rightful owners of the Fire. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who try to challenge Our miracles will be the dwellers of hell.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

Never sent We a messenger or a prophet before thee but when He recited (the message) Satan proposed (opposition) in respect of that which he recited thereof. But Allah abolisheth that which Satan proposeth. Then Allah establisheth His revelations. Allah is Knower, Wise; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We did not send any apostle or prophet before you but that when he recited [the scripture] Satan interjected [something] in his recitation. Thereat Allah nullifies whatever Satan has interjected, and then Allah confirms His signs, and Allah is All-knowing, All-wise. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Satan would try to tamper with the desires of every Prophet or Messenger whom We sent. Then God would remove Satan's temptations and strengthen His revelations. God is All-knowing and All-wise. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And We did not send before you any apostle or prophet, but when he desired, the Shaitan made a suggestion respecting his desire; but Allah annuls that which the Shaitan casts, then does Allah establish His communications, and Allah is Knowing, Wise, - Shakir, Habib

Whenever We sent any messenger or prophet before you, and he recited anything [of Our revelation], Satan tampered with it. But God abrogates Satan's interjections and then He firmly reaffirms His revelations. God is all knowing and all wise. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور ہم نے آپ سے پہلے کوئی ایسا رسول یا نبی نہیں بھیجا ہے کہ جب بھی اس نے کوئی نیک آرزو کی تو شیطان نے اس کی آرزو کی راہ میں رکاوٹ ڈال دی تو پھر خدا نے شیطان کی ڈالی ہوئی رکاوٹ کو مٹا دیا اور پھر اپنی آیات کو مستحکم بنادیا کہ وہ بہت زیادہ جاننے والا اور صاحبِ حکمت ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اے محمدؐ، تم سے پہلے ہم نے نہ کوئی رسول ایسا بھیجا ہے نہ نبی (جس کے ساتھ یہ معاملہ نہ پیش آیا ہو کہ) جب اُس نے تمنّا کی، شیطان اس کی تمنّا میں خلل انداز ہو گیا اِس طرح جو کچھ بھی شیطان خلل اندازیاں کرتا ہے اللہ ان کو مٹا دیتا ہے اور اپنی آیات کو پختہ کر دیتا ہے، اللہ علیم ہے اور حکیم - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ہم نے تم سے پہلے جتنے رسول یا نبی بھیجے سب پر کبھی یہ واقعہ گزرا ہے کہ جب انہوں نے پڑھا تو شیطان نے ان کے پڑھنے میں لوگوں پر کچھ اپنی طرف سے ملادیا تو مٹا دیتا ہے اللہ اس شیطان کے ڈالے ہوئے کو پھر اللہ اپنی آیتیں پکی کردیتا ہے اور اللہ علم و حکمت والا ہے، - Ahmed Raza

لِّيَجْعَلَ مَا يُلْقِى ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ وَٱلْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ لَفِى شِقَاقٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

That He may make that which the devil proposeth a temptation for those in whose hearts is a disease, and those whose hearts are hardened - Lo! the evil-doers are in open schism - - Pickthall, Marmaduke

That He may make what Satan has thrown in a test for those in whose hearts is a sickness and those whose hearts have hardened. Indeed the wrongdoers are steeped in extreme defiance. - Qarai, Ali Quli

He would make Satan's temptations a trial for those whose hearts are hard and sick. The wrong-doers are far away from the Lord, - Sarwar, Muhammad

So that He may make what the Shaitan casts a trial for those in whose hearts is disease and those whose hearts are hard; and most surely the unjust are in a great opposition, - Shakir, Habib

(وہ اس لیے ایسا ہونے دیتا ہے) تاکہ شیطان کی ڈالی ہُوئی خرابی کو فتنہ بنا دے اُن لوگوں کے لیے جن کے دلوں کو (نفاق کا) روگ لگا ہُوا ہے اور جن کے دل کھوٹے ہیں حقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ ظالم لوگ عناد میں بہت دور نکل گئے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ أَنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَتُخْبِتَ لَهُۥ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهَادِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And that those who have been given knowledge may know that it is the truth from thy Lord, so that they may believe therein and their hearts may submit humbly unto Him. Lo! Allah verily is guiding those who believe unto a right path. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[And also for the reason] that those who have been given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord, and so they may have faith in it, and their hearts may be humbled before Him. Indeed Allah guides those who have faith to a straight path. - Qarai, Ali Quli

so that those who have received knowledge would know and believe that whatever happens with the Prophets and Messengers is the Truth from their Lord and will believe it. This will cause their hearts to become filled with awe. God guides the believers to the right path. - Sarwar, Muhammad

وَلَا يَزَالُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى مِرْيَةٍۢ مِّنْهُ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَقِيمٍ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And those who disbelieve will not cease to be in doubt thereof until the Hour come upon them unawares, or there come unto them the doom of a disastrous day. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those who are faithless persist in their doubt about it, until either the Hour overtakes them suddenly, or they are overtaken by the punishment of an inauspicious day. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The unbelievers will continue to doubt the Quran until the Hour of Doom suddenly sizes them or the torment of the last day strikes them. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And those who disbelieve shall not cease to be in doubt concerning it until the hour overtakes them suddenly, or there comes on them the chastisement of a destructive day. - Shakir, Habib

انکار کرنے والے تو اس کی طرف سے شک ہی میں پڑے رہیں گے یہاں تک کہ یا تو اُن پر قیامت کی گھڑی اچانک آ جائے، یا ایک منحوس دن کا عذاب نازل ہو جائے - Maududi, Abul A'ala
