وَلَقَدْ
And for certain
ءَاتَيْنَا
We gave to
مُوسَىٰ
Moosa
وَهَٰرُونَ
and Haroon
ٱلْفُرْقَانَ
the Distinguisher,
وَضِيَآءًۭ
and an illumination,
وَذِكْرًۭا
and a remembrance
لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
for the aware ones.
And for certain We gave to Moosa and Haroon the Distinguisher, and an illumination, and a remembrance for the aware ones.
⦿
And We verily gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion (of right and wrong) and a light and a Reminder for those who keep from evil, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion, a light and reminder for the Godwary - Qarai, Ali Quli

اور بیشک ہم نے موسیٰ اور ہارون کو فیصلہ دیا اور اجالا اور پرہیزگاروں کو نصیحت - Ahmed Raza

And certainly
ءَاتَيْنَآ
We gave to
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Ibrahim
رُشْدَهُۥ
rationality
مِن

قَبْلُ
before,
وَكُنَّا
and We were
بِهِۦ
about him
عَٰلِمِينَ
knowledgeful.
And certainly We gave to Ibrahim rationality from before, and We were about him knowledgeful.

And We verily gave Abraham of old his proper course, and We were Aware of him, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Certainly We had given Abraham his probity before, and We knew him - Qarai, Ali Quli

لِأَبِيهِ

and his nation,

ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ
portrayals,
ٱلَّتِىٓ
which
أَنتُمْ
keep you
لَهَا
in them
عَٰكِفُونَ
occupied?]
When he said to his father and his nation, [What are these portrayals, which keep you in them occupied?]

When he said unto his father and his folk: What are these images unto which ye pay devotion? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They said, [We found our forefathers to it doing slavery.]

He said, [For certain had been, you are still, and your forefathers, in misguidance clearly.]

بَل
[On the contrary,
رَّبُّكُمْ
your Rabb is
رَبُّ
Rabb of
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the heavens / skies / firmament / atmospheres
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the Land,
ٱلَّذِى
the Entity who
فَطَرَهُنَّ
engineered them,
وَأَنَا۠
and I am
عَلَىٰ
upon
ذَٰلِكُم
that for you
مِّنَ
from
ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
the witnesses.]
٢١
٥٦
قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ He said, [On the contrary, your Rabb is Rabb of the heavens / skies / firmament / atmospheres and the Land, the Entity who engineered them, and I am upon that for you from the witnesses.]

He said: Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them; and I am of those who testify unto that. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [Indeed, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who originated them, and I affirm that. - Qarai, Ali Quli

He said, [Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. It was He who created them and I testify to this fact]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

He said: Nay! your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who brought them into existence, and I am of those who bear witness to this: - Shakir, Habib

Abraham replied, [Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who created them, and I bear witness to that. - Wahiduddin Khan

ابراہیم علیھ السّلامنے کہا کہ تمہارا واقعی رب وہی ہے جو آسمان و زمین کا رب ہے اور اسی نے ان سب کو پیدا کیا ہے اور میں اسی بات کے گواہوں میں سے ایک گواہ ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اُس نے جواب دیا ——نہیں، بلکہ فی الواقع تمہارا رب وہی ہے جو زمین اور آسمانوں کا رب اور اُن کا پیدا کرنے والا ہے اِس پر میں تمہارے سامنے گواہی دیتا ہوں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

And, by Allah, I shall circumvent your idols after ye have gone away and turned your backs. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Abraham said to himself, [By God! I will devise a plan against their idols when they are away.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

اور مجھے اللہ کی قسم ہے میں تمہارے بتوں کا برا چاہوں گا بعد اس کے کہ تم پھر جاؤ پیٹھ دے کر - Ahmed Raza

اور بخدا میں تمہارے بتوں کے ساتھ (کوئی نہ کوئی) چال ضرور چلوں گا جب تم پیٹھ پھیر کر چلے جاؤ گے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
