And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When your sister walked up [to Pharaoh]s palace] saying, “Shall I show you someone who will take care of him?” Then We restored you to your mother, that she might not grieve and be comforted. Then you slew a soul, whereupon We delivered you from anguish, and We tried you with various ordeals. Then you stayed for several years among the people of Midian. Then you turned up as ordained, O Moses! - Qarai, Ali Quli

Your sister went to them and said, [May I show you someone who will nurse this child?] We returned you to your mother to make her rejoice and forget her grief. You slew a man and We saved you from trouble. We tried you through various trials. Then you stayed some years with the people of Midian (Shu'ayb and his family) and after that you came back to Egypt as was ordained. - Sarwar, Muhammad

When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. - Shakir, Habib

Recall when your sister walked along and said, [Shall I guide you to one who will take care of him?] Thus We returned you to your mother, so that her eyes might be cooled and that she might not grieve. And you killed a man and We delivered you from sorrow. We tested you with various trials. اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب تمہاری بہن جارہی تھیں کہ فرعون سے کہیں کہ کیا میں کسی ایسے کا پتہ بتاؤں جو اس کی کفالت کرسکے اور اس طرح ہم نے تم کو تمہاری ماں کی طرف پلٹا دیا تاکہ ان کی آنکھیں ٹھنڈی ہوجائیں اور وہ رنجیدہ نہ ہوں اور تم نے ایک شخص کو قتل کردیا تو ہم نے تمہیں غم سے نجات دے دی اور تمہارا باقاعدہ امتحان لے لیا پھر تم اہل مدین میں کئی برس تک رہے اس کے بعد تم ایک منزل پر آگئے اے موسٰی - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یاد کر جبکہ تیری بہن چل رہی تھی، پھر جا کر کہتی ہے، ——میں تمہیں اُس کا پتہ دوں جو اِس بچے کی پرورش اچھی طرح کرے؟—— اس طرح ہم نے تجھے پھر تیری ماں کے پاس پہنچا دیا تاکہ اُس کی آنکھ ٹھنڈی رہے اور وہ رنجیدہ نہ ہو اور (یہ بھی یاد کر کہ) تو نے ایک شخص کو قتل کر دیا تھا، ہم نے تجھے اِس پھندے سے نکالا اور تجھے مختلف آزمائشوں سے گزارا اور تو مَدیَن کے لوگوں میں کئی سال ٹھیرا رہا پھر اب ٹھیک اپنے وقت پر تو آ گیا ہے اے موسیٰؑ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تیری بہن چلی پھر کہا کیا میں تمہیں وہ لوگ بتادوں جو اس بچہ کی پرورش کریں تو ہم تجھے تیری ماں کے پاس پھیر لائے کہ اس کی آنکھ ٹھنڈی ہو اور غم نہ کرے اور تو نے ایک جان کو قتل کیا تو ہم نے تجھے غم سے نجات دی اور تجھے خوب جانچ لیا تُو تو کئی برس مدین والوں میں رہا پھر تو ایک ٹھہرائے وعدہ پر حاضر ہوا اے موسیٰ! - Ahmed Raza

اور وہ وقت یاد کرو جب تمہاری بہن چل رہی تھی اور (فرعون کے اہل خانہ سے) کہہ رہی تھی کہ کیا میں تم لوگوں کو ایسی (دایہ) بتاؤں جو اس کی پرورش کرے؟ اور اس طرح ہم نے تمہیں تمہاری ماں کی طرف لوٹا دیا تاکہ اس کی آنکھ ٹھنڈی ہو اور رنجیدہ نہ ہو اور تم نے ایک شخص کو قتل کر دیا تھا تو ہم نے تمہیں اس غم سے نجات دی اور ہم نے تمہاری ہر طرح آزمائش کی۔ پھر تم کئی برس تک مدین کے لوگوں میں رہے اور پھر اے موسیٰ! تم اپنے معین وقت پر (یہاں) آگئے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So approach him and say, [[We are the apostles of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not torture them! We certainly bring you a sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon him who follows guidance! - Qarai, Ali Quli

They came to the Pharaoh and told him that they were the Messengerss of his Lord and that they wanted him to let the Israelites go with them and stop afflicting the Israelites with torment. So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two apostles of your Lord; therefore send the children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a communication from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows the guidance; - Shakir, Habib

قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ وَيْلَكُمْ لَا تَفْتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا فَيُسْحِتَكُم بِعَذَابٍۢ ۖ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

Moses said unto them: Woe unto you! Invent not a lie against Allah, lest He extirpate you by some punishment. He who lieth faileth miserably. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Moses said to them, [Woe to you! Do not fabricate lies against Allah, or He will obliterate you with a punishment. Whoever fabricates lies certainly fails.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Moses told them, (the magicians) [Woe to you if you invent falsehood against God; you will be destroyed by the torment. Whoever invents falsehood against God will certainly be lost.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

موسیٰؑ نے (عین موقع پر گروہ مقابل کو مخاطب کر کے) کہا ——شامت کے مارو، نہ جھُوٹی تہمتیں باندھو اللہ پر، ورنہ وہ ایک سخت عذاب سے تمہارا ستیاناس کر دے گا جھوٹ جس نے بھی گھڑا وہ نامراد ہوا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

ان سے موسیٰ نے کہا تمہیں خرابی ہو اللہ پر جھوٹ نہ باندھو کہ وہ تمہیں عذاب سے ہلاک کردے اور بیشک نامراد رہا جس نے جھوٹ باندھا - Ahmed Raza

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَٰنِ لَسَٰحِرَٰنِ يُرِيدَانِ أَن يُخْرِجَاكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِمَا وَيَذْهَبَا بِطَرِيقَتِكُمُ ٱلْمُثْلَىٰ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

They said: Lo! these are two wizards who would drive you out from your country by their magic, and destroy your best traditions; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

موسیٰ نے کہا بلکہ تمہیں ڈالو جبھی ان کی رسیاں اور لاٹھیاں ان کے جادو کے زور سے ان کے خیال میں دوڑتی معلوم ہوئیں - Ahmed Raza

Throw that which is in thy right hand! It will eat up that which they have made. Lo! that which they have made is but a wizard's artifice, and a wizard shall not be successful to whatever point (of skill) he may attain. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

(Pharaoh) said: Ye put faith in him before I give you leave. Lo! he is your chief who taught you magic. Now surely I shall cut off your hands and your feet alternately, and I shall crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and ye shall know for certain which of us hath sterner and more lasting punishment. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

فرعون نے کہا —— تم ایمان لے آئے قبل اس کے کہ میں تمہیں اس کی اجازت دیتا؟ معلوم ہو گیا کہ یہ تمہارا گرو ہے جس نے تمہیں جادوگری سکھائی تھی اچھا، اب میں تمہارے ہاتھ پاؤں مخالف سمتوں سے کٹواتا ہوں اور کھجور کے تنوں پر تم کو سُولی دیتا ہوں پھر تمہیں پتہ چل جائے گا کہ ہم دونوں میں سے کس کا عذاب زیادہ سخت اور دیر پا ہے—— (یعنی میں تمہیں زیادہ سخت سزا دے سکتا ہوں یا موسیٰؑ) - Maududi, Abul A'ala

جادوگروں نے جواب دیا ——قسم ہے اُس ذات کی جس نے ہمیں پیدا کیا ہے، یہ ہرگز نہیں ہو سکتا کہ ہم روشن نشانیاں سامنے آ جانے کے بعد بھی (صداقت پر) تجھے ترجیح دیں، تُو جو کچھ کرنا چاہے کر لے تو زیادہ سے زیادہ بس اِسی دُنیا کی زندگی کا فیصلہ کر سکتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

⦿
But whoso cometh unto Him a believer, having done good works, for such are the high stations; - Pickthall, Marmaduke

But whoever comes to Him with faith and he has done righteous deeds, for such shall be the highest ranks - Qarai, Ali Quli

One who comes into the presence of his Lord with faith and righteous deeds - Sarwar, Muhammad

⦿
Gardens of Eden underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever. That is the reward of him who groweth. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَلَقَدْ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى فَٱضْرِبْ لَهُمْ طَرِيقًۭا فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ يَبَسًۭا لَّا تَخَٰفُ دَرَكًۭا وَلَا تَخْشَىٰ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And verily We inspired Moses, saying: Take away My slaves by night and strike for them a dry path in the sea, fearing not to be overtaken, neither being afraid (of the sea). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

We revealed to Moses, [saying], [Set out with My servants at night, and strike out for them a dry path through the sea. Do not be afraid of being overtaken, and have no fear [of getting drowned]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

We sent revelations to Moses telling him, [Travel with My servants during the night and strike a dry road across the sea (for them). Have no fear of being overtaken (by the Pharaoh) nor of anything else]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And certainly We revealed to Musa, saying: Travel by night with My servants, then make for them a dry path in the sea, not fearing to be overtaken, nor being afraid. - Shakir, Habib

اور ہم نے موسٰی کی طرف وحی کی کہ میرے بندوں کو لے کر راتوں رات نکل جاؤ پھر ان کے لئے دریا میں عصا مار کر خشک راستہ بنادو تمہیں نہ فرعون کے پالینے کا خطرہ ہے اور نہ ڈوب جانے کا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ہم نے موسیٰؑ پر وحی کی کہ اب راتوں رات میرے بندوں کو لے کر چل پڑ، اور اُن کے لیے سمندر میں سے سُوکھی سڑک بنا لے، تجھے کسی کے تعاقب کا ذرا خوف نہ ہو اور نہ (سمندر کے بیچ سے گزرتے ہوئے) ڈر لگے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور بیشک ہم نے موسیٰ کو وحی کی کہ راتوں رات میرے بندوں کو لے چل اور ان کے لیے دریا میں سوکھا راستہ نکال دے تجھے ڈر نہ ہوگا کہ فرعون آلے اور نہ خطرہ - Ahmed Raza

يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ قَدْ أَنجَيْنَٰكُم مِّنْ عَدُوِّكُمْ وَوَٰعَدْنَٰكُمْ جَانِبَ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلْأَيْمَنَ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

O Children of Israel! We delivered you from your enemy, and we made a covenant with you on the holy mountain's side, and sent down on you the manna and the quails, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O Children of Israel! We delivered you from your enemy, and We appointed with you a tryst on the right side of the Mount and We sent down to you manna and quails: - Qarai, Ali Quli
