أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
They are
عَلَىٰ
on
هُدًۭى
guidance
مِّن
from
رَّبِّهِمْ
their Rabb,
ۖ
وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
and they are
هُمُ
those
ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
who are successful.
They are on guidance from their Rabb, and they are those who are successful.
⦿
These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those follow their Lord]s guidance and it is they who are the felicitous. - Qarai, Ali Quli

It is the pious who follow the guidance of their Lord and gain lasting happiness. - Sarwar, Muhammad

وہی لوگ اپنے رب کی طرف سے ہدایت پر ہیں اور وہی مراد کو پہنچنے والے۔ - Ahmed Raza

إِنَّ
Surely
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
كَفَرُوا۟
are in denial,
سَوَآءٌ
same is
عَلَيْهِمْ
for them
ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ
whether you warn them,
أَمْ
or
لَمْ
not
تُنذِرْهُمْ
you warn them,
لَا
not will
يُؤْمِنُونَ
they believe.
٢
٦
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ Surely the ones who are in denial, same is for them whether you warn them, or not you warn them, not will they believe.

As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

As for the faithless, it is the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not have faith. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Those who deny your message will not believe whether you warn them or not - Sarwar, Muhammad

خَتَمَ
Has put a seal,
ٱللَّهُ
the One,
عَلَىٰ
upon
قُلُوبِهِمْ
their hearts
وَعَلَىٰ
and on
سَمْعِهِمْ
their hearing,
ۖ
وَعَلَىٰٓ
and over
أَبْصَٰرِهِمْ
their sights
غِشَٰوَةٌۭ
are coverings,
ۖ
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
عَذَابٌ
a punishment of
عَظِيمٌۭ
a great magnitude.
٢
٧
خَتَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ ۖ وَعَلَىٰٓ أَبْصَٰرِهِمْ غِشَٰوَةٌۭ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ Has put a seal, the One, upon their hearts and on their hearing, and over their sights are coverings, and for them a punishment of a great magnitude.

Allah hath sealed their hearing and their hearts, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be an awful doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَمِنَ
And from
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people are
مَن
some who
يَقُولُ
say,
ءَامَنَّا
[I believe
بِٱللَّهِ
about the One,
وَبِٱلْيَوْمِ
and about the day
ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ
that is to come],
وَمَا
but not
هُم
they are
بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
with the convinced ones.
And from the people are some who say, [I believe about the One, and about the day that is to come], but not they are with the convinced ones.

And of mankind are some who say: We believe in Allah and the Last Day, when they believe not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Among the people are those who say, [We have faith in Allah and the Last Day,] but they have no faith. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Some people say, [We believe in God and the Day of Judgment,] but they are not true believers. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And there are some people who say: We believe in Allah and the last day; and they are not at all believers. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
There are some who say, [We believe in God and the Last Day,] yet they are not believers. - Wahiduddin Khan
⦿
کچھ لوگ ایسے بھی ہیں جو یہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم خدا اور آخرت پر ایمان لائے ہیں حالانکہ وہ صاحب ایمان نہیں ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

بعض لوگ ایسے بھی ہیں جو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ پر اور آخرت کے دن پر ایمان لائے ہیں، حالانکہ در حقیقت وہ مومن نہیں ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور کچھ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ اور پچھلے دن پر ایمان لائے اور وہ ایمان والے نہیں، - Ahmed Raza

يُخَٰدِعُونَ
They attempt to deceive
ٱللَّهَ
the One
وَٱلَّذِينَ
and the ones who
ءَامَنُوا۟
have conviction,
وَمَا
but not
يَخْدَعُونَ
it deceives
إِلَّآ
nothing but
أَنفُسَهُمْ
their own selves
وَمَا
while not
يَشْعُرُونَ
it is realized by them.

يُخَٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ They attempt to deceive the One and the ones who have conviction, but not it deceives nothing but their own selves while not it is realized by them.

They think to beguile Allah and those who believe, and they beguile none save themselves; but they perceive not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They seek to deceive Allah and those who have faith, yet they deceive no one but themselves, but they are not aware. - Qarai, Ali Quli

They deceive God and the believers. However, they have deceived no one but themselves, a fact of which they are not aware. - Sarwar, Muhammad

In

And for them
عَذَابٌ
a punishment that is
أَلِيمٌۢ
painful
بِمَا
because of what
كَانُوا۟
they are
يَكْذِبُونَ
lying about.

١٠
فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضًۭا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ In their hearts is a disease so increases them, the One, in sickness. And for them a punishment that is painful because of what they are lying about.

In their hearts is a disease, and Allah increaseth their disease. A painful doom is theirs because they lie. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

There is a sickness in their hearts; then Allah increased their sickness, and there is a painful punishment for them because of the lies they used to tell. - Qarai, Ali Quli

And whenever
قِيلَ
was said

to them,

[Don't
تُفْسِدُوا۟
spread corruption
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the land!],
قَالُوٓا۟
they replied,
إِنَّمَا
[On the contrary
نَحْنُ
we are
مُصْلِحُونَ
those who are doing good].
And whenever was said to them, [Don't spread corruption in the land!], they replied, [On the contrary we are those who are doing good].

And when it is said unto them: Make not mischief in the earth, they say: We are peacemakers only. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
When they are told, [Do not cause corruption on the earth,] they say, [We are only reformers!] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
When they are told not to commit corruption in the land, they reply, [We are only reformers]. - Sarwar, Muhammad
⦿
And when it is said to them, Do not make mischief in the land, they say: We are but peace-makers. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
When they are told, [Do not cause corruption in the land,] they say, [We are only promoters of peace,] - Wahiduddin Khan

جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ زمین میں فساد نہ برپا کرو تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم تو صرف اصلاح کرنے والے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جب کبھی ان سے کہا گیا کہ زمین پر فساد برپا نہ کرو تو انہوں نے یہی کہا کہ ہم تو اصلاح کرنے والے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اوران سے کہا جائے زمین میں فساد نہ کرو، تو کہتے ہیں ہم تو سنوارنے والے ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

اور جب ان سے کہا جائے کہ زمین میں فساد نہ پھیلاؤ۔ تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم تو اصلاح کرنے والے ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

يَشْعُرُونَ
it is realized by them?
Is it not that indeed they themselves are the spreaders of corruption when in fact not it is realized by them?
⦿
Are not they indeed the mischief-makers? But they perceive not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Behold! They are themselves the agents of corruption, but they are not aware. - Qarai, Ali Quli

they replied,
أَنُؤْمِنُ
[Should we trust
كَمَآ
as how
ءَامَنَ
trust
ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ
the fools?]
ۗ
أَلَآ
Is it not that
إِنَّهُمْ
indeed they
هُمُ
themselves are
ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ
the fools
وَلَٰكِن
when in fact
لَّا
not
يَعْلَمُونَ
it is known by them?
٢
١٣
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ ءَامِنُوا۟ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلنَّاسُ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَعْلَمُونَ And whenever was said to them, [Have trust as how should have trust the sensible people], they replied, [Should we trust as how trust the fools?] Is it not that indeed they themselves are the fools when in fact not it is known by them?

And when it is said unto them: believe as the people believe, they say: shall we believe as the foolish believe? are not they indeed the foolish? But they know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when they are told, [Believe like the people who have believed,] they say, [Shall we believe like the fools who have believed?] Behold! They are themselves the fools, but they do not know. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When they are told to believe as everyone else does, they say, [Should we believe as fools do?] In fact, they themselves are fools, but they do not know it. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when it is said to them: Believe as the people believe, they say: Shall we believe as the fools believe? Now surely they themselves are the fools, but they do not know. - Shakir, Habib

مَعَكُمْ
with you,
إِنَّمَا
just that
نَحْنُ
we are
مُسْتَهْزِءُونَ
having fun at their expense].

وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ شَيَٰطِينِهِمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُسْتَهْزِءُونَ And whenever they meet the ones who believe they say, [We believe!], and whenever alone with their cognitively-dumb cohorts they say, [Certainly we are with you, just that we are having fun at their expense].

And when they fall in with those who believe, they say: We believe; but when they go apart to their devils they declare: Lo! we are with you; verily we did but mock. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The One
يَسْتَهْزِئُ
makes mockery
بِهِمْ
about them,
وَيَمُدُّهُمْ
and it reinforces them
فِى
in
طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ
their rebellion,
يَعْمَهُونَ
blinding them.
The One makes mockery about them, and it reinforces them in their rebellion, blinding them.

Allah (Himself) doth mock them, leaving them to wander blindly on in their contumacy. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
