رَبَّنَا
— [Our Rabb,
وَٱبْعَثْ
and induce
فِيهِمْ
within them
رَسُولًۭا
a messenger
مِّنْهُمْ
from them,
يَتْلُوا۟
reading
عَلَيْهِمْ
upon them
ءَايَٰتِكَ
Your signs,
وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ
and teaching them
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book,
وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ
and the wisdom
وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ
and cleans them;
ۚ
إِنَّكَ
certainly You
أَنتَ
are
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
the Fortified,
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
the Wise.] —
٢
١٢٩
رَبَّنَا وَٱبْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًۭا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ — [Our Rabb, and induce within them a messenger from them, reading upon them Your signs, and teaching them the Book, and the wisdom and cleans them; certainly You are the Fortified, the Wise.] —

Our Lord! And raise up in their midst a messenger from among them who shall recite unto them Thy revelations, and shall instruct them in the Scripture and in wisdom and shall make them grow. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[Our Lord, raise amongst them an apostle from among them, who will recite to them Your signs and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed You are the All-mighty, the All-wise.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Lord, send to them (our descendants) a Messenger of their own who will recite to them Your revelations, teach them the Book, give them wisdom, and purify them. You alone are the Majestic and the Most Wise.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

پروردگار ان کے درمیان ایک رسول کو مبعوث فرما جو ان کے سامنے تیری آیتوں کی تلاوت کرے. انہیں کتاب و حکمت کی تعلیم دے اور انکے نفوس کو پاکیزہ بنائے. بے شک تو صاحبِ عزّت اور صاحبِ حکمت ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور اے رب، ان لوگوں میں خود انہیں کی قوم سے ایک ایسا رسول اٹھا ئیو، جو انہیں تیری آیات سنائے، ان کو کتاب اور حکمت کی تعلیم دے اور ان کی زندگیاں سنوارے تو بڑا مقتدر اور حکیم ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اے رب ہمارے اور بھیج ان میں ایک رسول انہیں میں سے کہ ان پر تیری آیتیں تلاوت فرمائے اور انہیں تیری کتاب اور پختہ علم سکھائے اور انہیں خوب ستھرا فرمادے بیشک تو ہی ہے غالب حکمت والا- - Ahmed Raza

اے ہمارے پروردگار ان (امت مسلمہ) میں انہی میں سے ایک ایسا پیغمبر بھیج جو انہیں تیری آیتیں پڑھ کر سنائے اور ان کو کتاب و حکمت کی تعلیم دے اور ان کے نفوس کو پاکیزہ بنائے یقینا تو بڑا زبردست اور بڑی حکمت والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَمَن
And who would
يَرْغَبُ
desire (a doctrine)
عَن
other than
مِّلَّةِ
doctrine of
إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ
Ibrahim,
إِلَّا
except
مَن
he who
سَفِهَ
fools his
نَفْسَهُۥ
own self?
ۚ
وَلَقَدِ
While certainly,
ٱصْطَفَيْنَٰهُ
We chose him
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنْيَا
the World;
ۖ
وَإِنَّهُۥ
and indeed he
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
the forthcoming
لَمِنَ
is of those who are
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
suitable.
٢
١٣٠
وَمَن يَرْغَبُ عَن مِّلَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ إِلَّا مَن سَفِهَ نَفْسَهُۥ ۚ وَلَقَدِ ٱصْطَفَيْنَٰهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ And who would desire (a doctrine) other than doctrine of Ibrahim, except he who fools his own self? While certainly, We chose him in the World; and indeed he in the forthcoming is of those who are suitable.

And who forsaketh the religion of Abraham save him who befooleth himself? Verily We chose him in the world, and lo! in the Hereafter he is among the righteous. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And who will [ever] forsake Abraham]s creed except one who debases himself? We certainly chose him in the [present] world, and in the Hereafter he will indeed be among the Righteous. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
No one turns away from Abraham's Tradition except one who makes a fool of himself. To Abraham We have granted distinction in this world and in the life hereafter he will be among the righteous ones. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And who forsakes the religion of Ibrahim but he who makes himself a fool, and most certainly We chose him in this world, and in the hereafter he is most surely among the righteous. - Shakir, Habib

Who but a foolish man would turn away from the religion of Abraham? We chose him in this world, and in the Hereafter he shall be among the righteous. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور کون ہے جو ملّاُ ابراہیم علیھ السّلام سے اعراض کرے مگر یہ کہ اپنے ہی کوبے وقوف بنائے . اور ہم نے انہیں دنیا میں منتخب قرار دیا ہے اور وہ آخرت میں نیک کردار لوگوں میں ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اب کون ہے، جو ابراہیمؑ کے طریقے سے نفرت کرے؟ جس نے خود اپنے آپ کو حماقت و جہالت میں مبتلا کر لیا ہو، اس کے سو ا کون یہ حرکت کرسکتا ہے؟ ابراہیمؑ تو وہ شخص ہے، جس کو ہم نے دنیا میں اپنے کام کے لیے چُن لیا تھا اور آخرت میں اس کا شمار صالحین میں ہوگا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ابراہیم کے دین سے کون منہ پھیرے سوا اس کے جو دل کا احمق ہے اور بیشک ضرور ہم نے دنیا میں اسے چن لیا اور بیشک وہ آخرت میں ہمارے خاص قرب کی قابلیت والوں میں ہے - - Ahmed Raza

When
قَالَ
said
لَهُۥ
to him
رَبُّهُۥٓ
his Rabb,
أَسْلِمْ
[Submit]
ۖ
قَالَ
(Ibrahim) said,
أَسْلَمْتُ
[I submit
لِرَبِّ
to Rabb of
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
all the states of being].
When said to him his Rabb, [Submit] (Ibrahim) said, [I submit to Rabb of all the states of being].
⦿
When his Lord said unto him: Surrender! he said: I have surrendered to the Lord of the Worlds. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When his Lord said to him, [Submit,] he said, [I submit to the Lord of all the worlds.] - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
When God commanded Abraham to submit, he replied, [I have submitted myself to the Will of the Lord of the universe.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

When his Lord said to him, Be a Muslim, he said: I submit myself to the Lord of the worlds. - Shakir, Habib
⦿
When his Lord said to him, [Surrender!] he responded, [I have surrendered to the Lord of the Universe,] - Wahiduddin Khan

جب ان سے ان کے پروردگار نے کہا کہ اپنے کو میرے حوالے کردو تو انہوں نے کہا کہ میں رب العالمین کے لئے سراپا تسلیم ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اس کا حال یہ تھا کہ جب اس کے رب نے اس سے کہا: ——مسلم ہو جا——، تو اس نے فوراً کہا: ——میں مالک کائنات کا ——مسلم—— ہو گیا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala
⦿
جبکہ اس سے اس کے رب نے فرمایا گردن رکھ عرض کی میں نے گردن رکھی اس کے لئے جو رب ہے سارے جہان کا- - Ahmed Raza
⦿
(یہ انتخاب اس وقت ہوا) جب ان کے پروردگار نے ان سے فرمایا: ’’مسلم‘‘ ہو جا (سر تسلیم جھکا کر فرمانبردار ہو جا)۔ تو انہوں نے کہا میں نے تمام جہانوں کے رب کے سامنے سر جھکا دیا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And advocated
بِهَآ

إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ
Ibrahim
بَنِيهِ
to his descendants,
وَيَعْقُوبُ
and to Yaqoob,
يَٰبَنِىَّ
[O my descendants!
إِنَّ
Surely
ٱللَّهَ
the One
ٱصْطَفَىٰ
has chosen
لَكُمُ
for you
ٱلدِّينَ
the governance system,
فَلَا
so don't
تَمُوتُنَّ
you die
إِلَّا
except
وَأَنتُم
while you are
مُّسْلِمُونَ
in submission.]
٢
١٣٢
وَوَصَّىٰ بِهَآ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ يَٰبَنِىَّ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰ لَكُمُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ And advocated about it Ibrahim to his descendants, and to Yaqoob, [O my descendants! Surely the One has chosen for you the governance system, so don't you die except while you are in submission.]

The same did Abraham enjoin upon his sons, and also Jacob, (saying): O my sons! Lo! Allah hath chosen for you the (true) religion; therefore die not save as men who have surrendered (unto Him). - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
Abraham enjoined this [creed] upon his children, and [so did] Jacob, [saying], [My children! Allah has indeed chosen this religion for you; so do not die except as those who have surrendered themselves [to Allah]. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Abraham left this legacy to his sons and, in turn, so did Jacob saying, [God has chosen this religion for you. You must not leave this world unless you are a Muslim (submitted to the will of the Lord of the Universe).] - Sarwar, Muhammad

And the same did Ibrahim enjoin on his sons and (so did) Yaqoub. O my sons! surely Allah has chosen for you (this) faith, therefore die not unless you are Muslims. - Shakir, Habib

and Abraham enjoined his sons to do the same, as did Jacob, [My sons, God has chosen this religion for you; so do not let death overtake you, except when you are in a state of submission.] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اسی بات کی ابراہیم علیھ السّلام اور یعقوب علیھ السّلام نے اپنی اولاد کو وصیت کی کہ اے میرے فرزندوں اللہ نے تمہارے لئے دین کو منتخب کردیا ہے اب اس وقت تک دنیا سے نہ جانا جب تک واقعی مسلمان نہ ہوجاؤ - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اسی طریقے پر چلنے کی ہدایت اس نے اپنی اولاد کو کی تھی اور اسی کی وصیت یعقوبؑ اپنی اولاد کو کر گیا اس نے کہا تھا کہ: ——میرے بچو! اللہ نے تمہارے لیے یہی دین پسند کیا ہے لہٰذا مرتے دم تک مسلم ہی رہنا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اسی دین کی وصیت کی ابراہیم ؑ نے اپنے بیٹوں کو اور یعقوب نے کہ اے میرے بیٹو! بیشک اللہ نے یہ دین تمہارے لئے چن لیا تو نہ مرنا مگر مسلمان - - Ahmed Raza

اور ابراہیم (ع) نے اپنے بیٹوں کو اسی (ملت پر قائم رہنے) کی وصیت کی اور یعقوب (ع) نے بھی۔ اے میرے فرزند! بے شک اللہ نے تمہارے لئے ایک خاص دین (اسلام) منتخب کیا ہے سو تم ہرگز نہ مرنا مگر اس حالت میں کہ تم (حقیقی) مسلمان ہو۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Or

ٱلْمَوْتُ
the death,
إِذْ
when
قَالَ
he said
لِبَنِيهِ
to his descendants,
مَا
[Who will
تَعْبُدُونَ
you serve
مِنۢ
from
بَعْدِى
after me?],
قَالُوا۟
they said,
نَعْبُدُ
[We serve
إِلَٰهَكَ
your Master
وَإِلَٰهَ
and Master of
ءَابَآئِكَ
your forefathers;
إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ
Ibrahim
وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ
and Isma'eel
وَإِسْحَٰقَ
and Ishaaq;
إِلَٰهًۭا
— an unchallenged master
وَٰحِدًۭا
singularly
وَنَحْنُ
and we are
لَهُۥ
to Him
مُسْلِمُونَ
in submission].
٢
١٣٣
أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَآءَ إِذْ حَضَرَ يَعْقُوبَ ٱلْمَوْتُ إِذْ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنۢ بَعْدِى قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ إِلَٰهَكَ وَإِلَٰهَ ءَابَآئِكَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ إِلَٰهًۭا وَٰحِدًۭا وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ Or were you witnesses when arrived to Yaqoob the death, when he said to his descendants, [Who will you serve from after me?], they said, [We serve your Master and Master of your forefathers; Ibrahim and Isma'eel and Ishaaq; — an unchallenged master singularly and we are to Him in submission].

Or were ye present when death came to Jacob, when he said unto his sons: What will ye worship after me? They said: We shall worship thy god, the god of thy fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac, One Allah, and unto Him we have surrendered. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his children, [What will you worship after me?] They said, [We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham, Ishmael, and Isaac, the One God, and to Him do we submit.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Were you (believers) there when death approached Jacob? When he asked his sons, [Whom will you worship after my death?] They replied, [We will worship your Lord, the Lord of your fathers, Abraham, Ishmael, and Isaac. He is the only Lord, and to Him we have submitted ourselves.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

Nay! were you witnesses when death visited Yaqoub, when he said to his sons: What will you serve after me? They said: We will serve your God and the God of your fathers, Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq, one God only, and to Him do we submit. - Shakir, Habib

Were you present when Jacob faced the hour of death and he asked his sons, [Who will you worship after me?] They answered, [We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac: the one God; we have submitted ourselves to Him.] - Wahiduddin Khan

کیا تم اس وقت تک موجود تھے جب یعقوب علیھ السّلام کا وقاُ موت آیا اور انہوں نے اپنی اولاد سے پوچھا کہ میرے بعد کس کی عبادت کرو گے تو انہوں نے کہا کہ آپ کے اور آپ کے آباؤ اجداد ابراہیم علیھ السّلام و اسماعیل علیھ السّلامو اسحاق علیھ السّلامکے پروردگار خدائے وحدہِ لاشریک کی اور ہم اسی کے مسلمان اور فرمانبردار ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر کیا تم اس وقت موجود تھے، جب یعقوبؑ اس دنیا سے رخصت ہو رہا تھا؟اس نے مرتے وقت اپنے بچوں سے پوچھا: ——بچو! میرے بعد تم کس کی بندگی کرو گے؟—— ان سب نے جواب دیا: ——ہم اسی ایک خدا کی بندگی کریں گے جسے آپ نے اور آپ کے بزرگوں ابراہیمؑ، اسماعیلؑ اور اسحاقؑ نے خدا مانا ہے اور ہم اُسی کے مسلم ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بلکہ تم میں کے خود موجود تھے جب یعقوب ؑ کو موت آئی جبکہ اس نے اپنے بیٹوں سے فرمایا میرے بعد کس کی پوجا کروگے بولے ہم پوجیں گے اسے جو خدا ہے آپ کا اور آپ کے آباء ابراہیم ؑ و اسمٰعیل ؑ و اسحاقؑ کا ایک خدا اور ہم اس کے حضور گردن رکھے ہیں، - Ahmed Raza

(اے یہود) کیا تم اس وقت موجود تھے جب یعقوب (ع) کی موت کا وقت آیا؟ اس وقت انہوں نے اپنے بیٹوں سے کہا (پوچھا) کہ تم میرے بعد کس کی عبادت کروگے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم آپ کے اور آپ کے آباء (و اجداد) ابراہیم (ع)، اسماعیل (ع) اور اسحاق (ع)کے واحد و یکتا معبود کی عبادت کریں گے۔ اور ہم اسی کے مسلمان (فرمانبردار) ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

كَسَبَتْ
it earned
وَلَكُم
and for you
مَّا
what
كَسَبْتُمْ
you earn —
ۖ
وَلَا
and not will
تُسْـَٔلُونَ
you be questioned
عَمَّا
over what
كَانُوا۟
they were
يَعْمَلُونَ
doing.
٢
١٣٤
تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌۭ قَدْ خَلَتْ ۖ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ That was a nation that passed — for it what it earned and for you what you earn — and not will you be questioned over what they were doing.

Those are a people who have passed away. Theirs is that which they earned, and yours is that which ye earn. And ye will not be asked of what they used to do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And they said,
كُونُوا۟
[Be
هُودًا
intimidating
أَوْ
or
نَصَٰرَىٰ
a helper
تَهْتَدُوا۟
so you may be guided.]
ۗ
قُلْ
Say,
بَلْ
[No, but
مِلَّةَ
doctrine of
إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ
Ibrahim
حَنِيفًۭا
as secular (obedient to only One authority),
ۖ
وَمَا
and not
كَانَ
he was
مِنَ
of
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
the ones who add partners.]
٢
١٣٥
وَقَالُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ تَهْتَدُوا۟ ۗ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ حَنِيفًۭا ۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ And they said, [Be intimidating or a helper so you may be guided.] Say, [No, but doctrine of Ibrahim as secular (obedient to only One authority), and not he was of the ones who add partners.]

And they say: Be Jews or Christians, then ye will be rightly guided. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Nay, but (we follow) the religion of Abraham, the upright, and he was not of the idolaters. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They say, [Be either Jews or Christians, that you may be [rightly] guided.] Say, [No, rather, [we will follow] the creed of Abraham, a Hanif, and he was not one of the polytheists.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

The Jews and the Christians have asked the Muslims to accept their faith to have the right guidance. (Muhammad) tell them, [We would rather follow the upright religion of Abraham who was not a pagan]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And they say: Be Jews or Christians, you will be on the right course. Say: Nay! (we follow) the religion of Ibrahim, the Hanif, and he was not one of the polytheists. - Shakir, Habib

Say,
ءَامَنَّا
[I am satisfied
بِٱللَّهِ
regarding the One
وَمَآ
and what is
أُنزِلَ
sent down
إِلَيْنَا
to us
وَمَآ
and what
أُنزِلَ
had been sent
إِلَىٰٓ
to
إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ
Ibrahim,
وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ
and Isma'eel,
وَإِسْحَٰقَ
and Ishaaq,
وَيَعْقُوبَ
and Yaqoob,
وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ
and the descendants,
وَمَآ
and what
أُوتِىَ
was given to
مُوسَىٰ
Moosa,
وَعِيسَىٰ
and Essa,
وَمَآ
and what
أُوتِىَ
was given to
ٱلنَّبِيُّونَ
the revolutionary leaders
مِن
from
رَّبِّهِمْ
their Rabb,
لَا
not
نُفَرِّقُ
we distinguish (or form sects)
بَيْنَ
between
أَحَدٍۢ
anyone
مِّنْهُمْ
of them,
وَنَحْنُ
and we are
لَهُۥ
to Him
مُسْلِمُونَ
in submission.]
٢
١٣٦
قُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ ٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ Say, [I am satisfied regarding the One and what is sent down to us and what had been sent to Ibrahim, and Isma'eel, and Ishaaq, and Yaqoob, and the descendants, and what was given to Moosa, and Essa, and what was given to the revolutionary leaders from their Rabb, not we distinguish (or form sects) between anyone of them, and we are to Him in submission.]

Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [We have faith in Allah and what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus were given, and that which the prophets were given from their Lord; we make no distinction between any of them and to Him do we submit.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muslims), say, [We believe in God and what He has revealed to us and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, and their descendants, and what was revealed to Moses, Jesus, and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction among them and to God we have submitted ourselves.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

Say: We believe in Allah and (in) that which had been revealed to us, and (in) that which was revealed to Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq and Yaqoub and the tribes, and (in) that which was given to Musa and Isa, and (in) that which was given to the prophets from their Lord, we do not make any distinction between any of them, and to Him do we submit. - Shakir, Habib

اور مسلمانو! تم ان سے کہو کہ ہم اللہ پر اور جو اس نے ہماری طرف بھیجا ہے اور جو ابراہیم علیھ السّلامً اسماعیل علیھ السّلام ً اسحاق علیھ السّلامً یعقوب علیھ السّلامً اولاد یعقوب علیھ السّلام کی طرف نازل کیا ہے اور جو موسیٰ علیھ السّلام ً عیسیٰ علیھ السّلام اور انبیائ علیھ السّلام کو پروردگار کی طرف سے دیا گیا ہے ان سب پر ایمان لے آئے ہیں. ہم پیغمبروں علیھ السّلام میں تفریق نہیں کرتے اور ہم خدا کے سچّے مسلمان ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

مسلمانو! کہو کہ: ——ہم ایمان لائے اللہ پر اور اس ہدایت پر جو ہماری طرف نازل ہوئی ہے اور جو ابراہیمؑ، اسماعیلؑ، اسحاقؑ، یعقوبؑ اور اولاد یعقوبؑ کی طرف نازل ہوئی تھی اور جو موسیٰؑ اور عیسیٰؑ اور دوسرے تمام پیغمبروں کو اُن کے رب کی طرف سے دی گئی تھی ہم ان کے درمیان کوئی تفریق نہیں کرتے اور ہم اللہ کے مسلم ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

یوں کہو کہ ہم ایمان لائے اللہ پر اس پر جو ہماری طرف اترا اور جو اتارا گیا ابراہیم ؑ و اسمٰعیل ؑ و اسحاقؑ و یعقوبؑ اور ان کی اولاد پر اور جو عطا کئے گئے موسیٰ ؑ و عیسیٰ ؑ اور جو عطا کئے گئے باقی انبیاء اپنے رب کے پاس سے ہم ان پر ایمان میں فرق نہیں کرتے اور ہم اللہ کے حضور گردن رکھے ہیں- - Ahmed Raza

ٱهْتَدَوا۟
they are guided.
ۖ
وَّإِن
And if
تَوَلَّوْا۟
they turn away,
فَإِنَّمَا
then it is certain that
هُمْ
they are
فِى
in
شِقَاقٍۢ
discord.
ۖ
فَسَيَكْفِيكَهُمُ
Thus will suffice you against them
ٱللَّهُ
the One,
ۚ
وَهُوَ
and He is
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
the Hearer,
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
the Knowledgeable.
٢
١٣٧
فَإِنْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَآ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ ۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا هُمْ فِى شِقَاقٍۢ ۖ فَسَيَكْفِيكَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ Then if they are convinced being similar to what you are convinced about it, then certainly they are guided. And if they turn away, then it is certain that they are in discord. Thus will suffice you against them the One, and He is the Hearer, the Knowledgeable.

And if they believe in the like of that which ye believe, then are they rightly guided. But if they turn away, then are they in schism, and Allah will suffice thee (for defence) against them. He is the Hearer, the Knower. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So if they believe in the like of what you believe in, then they are surely guided; but if they turn away, then [know that] they are only [steeped] in defiance. Allah will suffice you against them, and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. - Qarai, Ali Quli

If they have faith in all that you believe, they will have the right guidance, but if they turn away, it would be for no reason other than their own malice. God is a Sufficient defender for you against them; He is All-hearing and All-knowing. - Sarwar, Muhammad

If then they believe as you believe in Him, they are indeed on the right course, and if they turn back, then they are only in great opposition, so Allah will suffice you against them, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. - Shakir, Habib

If they believe as you have believed, then are they rightly guided; but if they turn back, then know that they are entrenched in hostility. God will surely suffice to defend you against them, for He is All Hearing, All Knowing. - Wahiduddin Khan

اب اگر یہ لوگ بھی ایسا ہی ایمان لے آئیں گے تو ہدایت یافتہ ہوجائیں گے اور اگر اعراض کریںگے تو یہ صرف عناد ہوگا اور عنقریب اللہ تمہیں ان سب کے شر سے بچا لے گا کہ وہ سننے والا بھی ہے اورجاننے والا بھی ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر اگر وہ اُسی طرح ایمان لائیں، جس طرح تم لائے ہو، تو ہدایت پر ہیں، اور اگراس سے منہ پھیریں، تو کھلی بات ہے کہ وہ ہٹ دھرمی میں پڑ گئے ہیں لہٰذا اطمینان رکھو کہ اُن کے مقابلے میں اللہ تمہاری حمایت کے لیے کافی ہے وہ سب کچھ سنتا اور جانتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر اگر وہ بھی یونہی ایمان لائے جیسا تم لائے جب تو وہ ہدایت پاگئے اور اگر منہ پھیریں تو وہ نری ضد میں ہیں تو اے محبوب! عنقریب اللہ ان کی طرف سے تمہیں کفایت کرے گا اور وہی ہے سنتا جانتا - - Ahmed Raza

تو اگر یہ لوگ (اہل کتاب) اسی طرح ایمان لے آئیں جس طرح تم لائے ہو تو ہدایت پا گئے اور اگر روگردانی کریں تو وہ بڑی مخالفت اور ہٹ دھرمی میں پڑ گئے ہیں سو ان کے مقابلہ میں اللہ تمہارے لئے کافی ہے اور وہ بڑا سننے والا، بڑا جاننے والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And we are
لَهُۥ
for Him
عَٰبِدُونَ
doing slavery.
Quality of the One; and who is better than the One's quality? And we are for Him doing slavery.

(We take our) colour from Allah, and who is better than Allah at colouring. We are His worshippers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [Belief in God and following the guidance of Islam are God's means of purification for us. Islam is the baptism of God. No one is a better baptizer than He and we Muslims worship Him.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

(Receive) the baptism of Allah, and who is better than Allah in baptising? and Him do we serve. - Shakir, Habib

قُلْ
Say,
أَتُحَآجُّونَنَا
[You argue with us
فِى
regarding
ٱللَّهِ
the One;
وَهُوَ
while He is
رَبُّنَا
our Nourisher
وَرَبُّكُمْ
and your Nourisher,
وَلَنَآ
so for us
أَعْمَٰلُنَا
our works
وَلَكُمْ
and for you
أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ
your works,
وَنَحْنُ
and we are
لَهُۥ
to Him
مُخْلِصُونَ
sincere.]

قُلْ أَتُحَآجُّونَنَا فِى ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ وَلَنَآ أَعْمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُخْلِصُونَ Say, [You argue with us regarding the One; while He is our Nourisher and your Nourisher, so for us our works and for you your works, and we are to Him sincere.]

Say (unto the People of the Scripture): Dispute ye with us concerning Allah when He is our Lord and your Lord? Ours are our works and yours your works. We look to Him alone. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اے رسول کہہ دیجئے کہ کیا تم ہم سے اس خدا کے بارے میں جھگڑتے ہو جو ہمارا بھی پروردگار ہے اور تمہارا بھی---- تو ہمارے لئے ہمارے اعمال ہیں اور تمہارے لئے تمہارے اعمال اورہم تو صرف خدا کے مخلص بندے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اے نبیؐ! اِن سے کہو: ——کیا تم اللہ کے بارے میں ہم سے جھگڑتے ہو؟حالانکہ وہی ہمارا رب بھی ہے اور تمہارا رب بھی ہمارے اعمال ہمارے لیے ہیں، تمہارے اعمال تمہارے لیے، اور ہم اللہ ہی کے لیے اپنی بندگی کو خالص کر چکے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تم فرماؤ اللہ کے بارے میں جھگڑتے ہو حالانکہ وہ ہمارا بھی مالک ہے اور تمہارا بھی اور ہماری کرنی (ہمارے اعمال) ہمارے ساتھ اور تمہاری کرنی (تمہارے اعمال) تمہارے ساتھ اور ہم نِرے اسی کے ہیں- - Ahmed Raza
