أَوَكُلَّمَا
Is it not that whenever
عَٰهَدُوا۟
they pledged
عَهْدًۭا
a promise,
نَّبَذَهُۥ
rejected it
فَرِيقٌۭ
sectarians
مِّنْهُم
from them?
ۚ
بَلْ
But
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
many of them
لَا
not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
are sure.
٢
١٠٠
أَوَكُلَّمَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ عَهْدًۭا نَّبَذَهُۥ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُم ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ Is it not that whenever they pledged a promise, rejected it sectarians from them? But many of them not are sure.

And when
جَآءَهُمْ
came to them
رَسُولٌۭ
a correspondence
مِّنْ
from
عِندِ
nearing
ٱللَّهِ
the One
مُصَدِّقٌۭ
— a confirmation
لِّمَا
for whatever is
مَعَهُمْ
with them —
نَبَذَ
rejected (it)
فَرِيقٌۭ
sectarians
مِّنَ
from
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
أُوتُوا۟
have been given
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
كِتَٰبَ
written by
ٱللَّهِ
the One,
وَرَآءَ
behind
ظُهُورِهِمْ
their backs,
كَأَنَّهُمْ
as if they
لَا
did not
يَعْلَمُونَ
know it.
٢
١٠١
وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٌۭ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ كِتَٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ And when came to them a correspondence from nearing the One — a confirmation for whatever is with them — rejected (it) sectarians from the ones who have been given the Book written by the One, behind their backs, as if they did not know it.

And when there cometh unto them a messenger from Allah, confirming that which they possess, a party of those who have received the Scripture fling the Scripture of Allah behind their backs as if they knew not, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when there came to them an apostle from Allah, confirming that which is with them, a part of those who were given the Book cast the Book of Allah behind their back, as if they did not know [that it is Allah]s Book]. - Qarai, Ali Quli

When a Messenger of God came to them confirming the (original) revelation that they already had received, a group of those who had the Scripture with them, threw the Book of God behind their backs as if they did not know anything about it. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Whenever a messenger from God has come to them, fulfilling that [predictions] which they already had, some of those to whom the Book was given have cast off the Book of God behind their backs as if they had no knowledge. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جب ان کے پاس اللہ کی طرف سے کوئی رسول اس کتاب کی تصدیق و تائید کرتا ہوا آیا جو ان کے ہاں پہلے سے موجود تھی، تو اِن اہل کتاب میں سے ایک گروہ نے کتاب اللہ کو اس طرح پس پشت ڈالا، گویا کہ وہ کچھ جانتے ہی نہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب ان کے پاس تشریف لایا اللہ کے یہاں سے ایک رسول ان کی کتابوں کی تصدیق فرماتا تو کتاب والوں سے ایک گروہ نے اللہ کی کتاب پیٹھ پیچھے پھینک دی گویا وہ کچھ علم ہی نہیں رکھتے - - Ahmed Raza

وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟
And they followed
مَا
what
تَتْلُوا۟
recited
ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
the illogical fiends
عَلَىٰ
against
مُلْكِ
kingdom of
سُلَيْمَٰنَ
Suleiman.
ۖ
وَمَا
While not
كَفَرَ
denied
سُلَيْمَٰنُ
Suleiman,
وَلَٰكِنَّ
but
ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ
the mentally retarded ones
كَفَرُوا۟
were denying,
يُعَلِّمُونَ
teaching
ٱلنَّاسَ
the people
ٱلسِّحْرَ
the delusion inducing arts,
وَمَآ
and what
أُنزِلَ
revealed
عَلَى
upon
ٱلْمَلَكَيْنِ
the two chiefs
بِبَابِلَ
through causing confusion,
هَٰرُوتَ
Harut
وَمَٰرُوتَ
and Marut;
ۚ
وَمَا
and not
يُعَلِّمَانِ
they taught
مِنْ
some
أَحَدٍ
one
حَتَّىٰ
till
يَقُولَآ
they (chiefs) declared (to people),
إِنَّمَا
[Certainly
نَحْنُ
we are
فِتْنَةٌۭ
a test (to ascertain who is pure and who is not)
فَلَا
so do not
تَكْفُرْ
be in denial (of us).]
ۖ
فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ
Hence they (people) learnt
مِنْهُمَا
from both of them,
مَا
that which
يُفَرِّقُونَ
causes differences
بِهِۦ
by it
بَيْنَ
between
ٱلْمَرْءِ
a person
وَزَوْجِهِۦ
and his partner.
ۚ
وَمَا
And not could
هُم
they
بِضَآرِّينَ
be harmful
بِهِۦ
through it
مِنْ
for
أَحَدٍ
anyone,
إِلَّا
except
بِإِذْنِ
by permission of
ٱللَّهِ
the One,
ۚ
وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ
yet they learned
مَا
what was
يَضُرُّهُمْ
harmful for them,
وَلَا
and not
يَنفَعُهُمْ
it profited them.
ۚ
وَلَقَدْ
And certainly, it was
عَلِمُوا۟
known
لَمَنِ
that whoever
ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ
bought it,
مَا
not
لَهُۥ
for him is
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
the forthcoming
مِنْ
of
خَلَٰقٍۢ
a portion.
ۚ
وَلَبِئْسَ
And it was evil
مَا
what
شَرَوْا۟
they exchanged
بِهِۦٓ
through it
أَنفُسَهُمْ
themselves.
ۚ
لَوْ
If only
كَانُوا۟
they
يَعْلَمُونَ
were knowing.
٢
١٠٢
وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَا تَتْلُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ عَلَىٰ مُلْكِ سُلَيْمَٰنَ ۖ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَكَيْنِ بِبَابِلَ هَٰرُوتَ وَمَٰرُوتَ ۚ وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَآ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ فِتْنَةٌۭ فَلَا تَكْفُرْ ۖ فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِۦ بَيْنَ ٱلْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِۦ ۚ وَمَا هُم بِضَآرِّينَ بِهِۦ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمْ ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمُوا۟ لَمَنِ ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلَٰقٍۢ ۚ وَلَبِئْسَ مَا شَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنفُسَهُمْ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ And they followed what recited the illogical fiends against kingdom of Suleiman. While not denied Suleiman, but the mentally retarded ones were denying, teaching the people the delusion inducing arts, and what revealed upon the two chiefs through causing confusion, Harut and Marut; and not they taught some one till they (chiefs) declared (to people), [Certainly we are a test (to ascertain who is pure and who is not) so do not be in denial (of us).] Hence they (people) learnt from both of them, that which causes differences by it between a person and his partner. And not could they be harmful through it for anyone, except by permission of the One, yet they learned what was harmful for them, and not it profited them. And certainly, it was known that whoever bought it, not for him is in the forthcoming of a portion. And it was evil what they exchanged through it themselves. If only they were knowing.

And follow that which the devils falsely related against the kingdom of Solomon. Solomon disbelieved not; but the devils disbelieved, teaching mankind magic and that which was revealed to the two angels in Babel, Harut and Marut. Nor did they (the two angels) teach it to anyone till they had said: We are only a temptation, therefore disbelieve not (in the guidance of Allah). And from these two (angles) people learn that by which they cause division between man and wife; but they injure thereby no-one save by Allah's leave. And they learn that which harmeth them and profiteth them not. And surely they do know that he who trafficketh therein will have no (happy) portion in the Hereafter; and surely evil is the price for which they sell their souls, if they but knew. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And they followed what the devils pursued during Solomon]s reign —and Solomon was not faithless but it was the devils who were faithless—teaching the people magic and what was sent down to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut, who would not teach anyone without telling [him], [We are only a test, so do not be faithless.] But they would learn from those two that with which they would cause a split between man and his wife—though they could not harm anyone with it except with Allah]s leave. They would learn that which would harm them and bring them no benefit; though they certainly knew that anyone who buys it has no share in the Hereafter. Surely, evil is that for which they sold their souls, had they known! - Qarai, Ali Quli

They followed the incantations that the devils used against the kingdom of Solomon. Solomon did not hide the truth but the devils did. They taught magic to the people and whatever was revealed to the two angels, Harut and Marut, in Babylon. The two angels did not teach anything to anyone without saying, [Our case is a temptation for the people, so do not hide the truth.] People learned something from the two angels that could cause discord between a man and his wife. However, they could harm no one except by the permission of God. In fact, the (people) learned things that would harm them and render them no benefit. They knew very well that one who engaged in witchcraft would have no reward in the life hereafter. Would that they had known that they had sold their souls for that which is vile! - Sarwar, Muhammad

And they followed what the Shaitans chanted of sorcery in the reign of Sulaiman, and Sulaiman was not an unbeliever, but the Shaitans disbelieved, they taught men sorcery and that was sent down to the two angels at Babel, Harut and Marut, yet these two taught no man until they had said, [Surely we are only a trial, therefore do not be a disbeliever.] Even then men learned from these two, magic by which they might cause a separation between a man and his wife; and they cannot hurt with it any one except with Allah's permission, and they learned what harmed them and did not profit them, and certainly they know that he who bought it should have no share of good in the hereafter and evil was the price for which they sold their souls; had they but known this. - Shakir, Habib

اور ان باتوں کا اتباع شروع کردیا جو شیاطین سلیمان علیھ السّلامکی سلطنت میں جپا کرتے تھے حالانکہ سلیمان علیھ السّلام کافر نہیں تھے. کافر یہ شیاطین تھے جو لوگوں کو جادو کی تعلیم دیتے تھے اور پھر جو کچھ دو فرشتوں ہاروت ماروت پر بابل میں نازل ہوا ہے. وہ اس کی بھی تعلیم اس وقت تک نہیںدیتے تھے جب تک یہ کہہ نہیں دیتے تھے کہ ہم ذریعہ امتحان ہیں. خبردار تم کافر نہ ہوجانا .لیکن وہ لوگ ان سے وہ باتیں سیکھتے تھے جس سے میاں بیوی کے درمیان جھگڑاکرادیں حالانکہ اذنِ خدا کے بغیر وہ کسی کو نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتے. یہ ان سے وہ سب کچھ سیکھتے تھے جو ان کے لئے مضر تھا اور اس کا کوئی فائدہ نہیںتھا یہ خوب جانتے تھے کہ جو بھی ان چیزوں کو خریدے گا اس کا آخرت میں کوئی حصہّ نہ ہوگا. انہوں نے اپنے نفس کا بہت برا سو دا کیا ہے اگر یہ کچھ جانتے اور سمجھتے ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور لگے اُن چیزوں کی پیروی کرنے، جو شیا طین، سلیمانؑ کی سلطنت کا نام لے کر پیش کیا کرتے تھے، حالانکہ سلیمانؑ نے کبھی کفر نہیں کیا، کفر کے مرتکب تو وہ شیاطین تھے جو لوگوں کو جادو گری کی تعلیم دیتے تھے وہ پیچھے پڑے اُس چیز کے جو بابل میں دو فرشتوں، ہاروت و ماروت پر نازل کی گئی تھی، حالانکہ وہ (فرشتے) جب بھی کسی کو اس کی تعلیم دیتے تھے، تو پہلے صاف طور پر متنبہ کر دیا کرتے تھے کہ ——دیکھ، ہم محض ایک آزمائش ہیں، تو کفر میں مبتلا نہ ہو—— پھر بھی یہ لوگ اُن سے وہ چیز سیکھتے تھے، جس سے شوہر اور بیوی میں جدائی ڈال دیں ظاہر تھا کہ اذنِ الٰہی کے بغیر وہ اس ذریعے سے کسی کو بھی ضرر نہ پہنچا سکتے تھے، مگراس کے باوجود وہ ایسی چیز سیکھتے تھے جو خود ان کے لیے نفع بخش نہیں، بلکہ نقصان د ہ تھی اور انہیں خوب معلوم تھا کہ جو اس چیز کا خریدار بنا، اس کے لیے آخرت میں کوئی حصہ نہیں کتنی بری متاع تھی جس کے بدلے انہوں نے اپنی جانوں کو بیچ ڈالا، کاش انہیں معلوم ہوتا! - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اس کے پیرو ہوئے جو شیطان پڑھا کرتے تھے سلطنت سلیمان کے زمانہ میں اور سلیمان نے کفر نہ کیا ہاں شیطان کافر ہوئے لوگوں کو جادو سکھاتے ہیں اور وہ (جادو) جو بابل میں دو فرشتوں ہاروت و ماروت پر اترا اور وہ دونوں کسی کو کچھ نہ سکھاتے جب تک یہ نہ کہہ لیتے کہ ہم تو نری آزمائش ہیں تو اپنا ایمان نہ کھو تو ان سے سیکھتے وہ جس سے جدائی ڈالیں مرد اور اس کی عورت میں اور اس سے ضرر نہیں پہنچا سکتے کسی کو مگر خدا کے حکم سے اور وہ سیکھتے ہیں جو انہیں نقصان دے گا نفع نہ دے گا اور بیشک ضرور انہیں معلوم ہے کہ جس نے یہ سودا لیا آخرت میں اس کا کچھ حصہ نہیں اور بیشک کیا بری چیز ہے وہ جس کے بدلے انہوں نے اپنی جانیں بیچیں کسی طرح انہیں علم ہوتا- - Ahmed Raza

اور (یہ لوگ) ان (بے بنیاد) چیزوں کی پیروی کرنے لگے جو شیاطین سلیمان کے عہد سلطنت میں پڑھ کر سنایا کرتے تھے۔ حالانکہ سلیمان نے کبھی کفر نہیں کیا۔ بلکہ ان شیطانوں نے کفر کیا جو لوگوں کو جادو کی تعلیم دیتے تھے (نیز) وہ اس چیز (جادو) کی پیروی کرنے لگے جو بابل کے مقام پر ہاروت و ماروت نامی دو فرشتوں پر اتاری گئی۔ حالانکہ یہ دونوں فرشتے اس وقت تک کسی کو کچھ تعلیم نہیں دیتے تھے جب تک پہلے یہ نہیں کہتے تھے کہ ہم محض آزمائش ہیں۔ لہٰذا (اس علم کو غلط استعمال کرکے) کافر نہ ہو جانا (بایں ہمہ) لوگ ان سے وہ کچھ سیکھتے تھے جس سے مرد اور اس کی بیوی میں جدائی ڈال دیں۔ حالانکہ وہ اذنِ خدا کے بغیر کسی کو کوئی نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتے تھے۔ الغرض وہ لوگ ان سے وہ چیز سیکھتے تھے جو ان کو ضرر پہنچاتی تھی اور کوئی فائدہ نہیں پہنچاتی تھی۔ اور وہ اچھی طرح جانتے تھے کہ جو شخص (دین کے بدلے) ان چیزوں کو خریدے گا۔ اس کا آخرت میں کوئی حصہ نہیں ہے اور کس قدر برا (معاوضہ) ہے جس پر انہوں نے اپنی جانوں کا سودا کیا۔ کاش انہیں اس کا علم ہوتا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

عِندِ
nearing
ٱللَّهِ
the One is
خَيْرٌۭ
better!
ۖ
لَّوْ
If only
كَانُوا۟
they were
يَعْلَمُونَ
having knowledge!
٢
١٠٣
وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ لَمَثُوبَةٌۭ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌۭ ۖ لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ And if only they were to believe and become aware of how much that reward from nearing the One is better! If only they were having knowledge!
⦿
And if they had believed and kept from evil, a recompense from Allah would be better, if they only knew. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Had they been faithful and Godwary, the reward from Allah would have been better, had they known! - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
Would that they had known that if they had embraced the faith and avoided evil, they would have received better rewards from God. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And if they had believed and guarded themselves (against evil), reward from Allah would certainly have been better; had they but known (this). - Shakir, Habib

And had they but believed and been mindful of God, His reward would have been far better for them, if they had but known it. - Wahiduddin Khan

اگر یہ لوگ ایمان لے آتے اور متقی بن جاتے تو خدائی ثواب بہت بہتر تھا. اگر ان کی سمجھ میں آجاتا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اگر وہ ایمان اور تقویٰ اختیار کرتے، تو اللہ کے ہاں اس کا جو بدلہ ملتا، وہ ان کے لیے زیادہ بہتر تھا، کاش اُنہیں خبر ہوتی - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اگر وہ ایمان لاتے اور پرہیزگاری کرتے تو اللہ کے یہاں کا ثواب بہت اچھا ہے کسی طرح انہیں علم ہوتا - - Ahmed Raza

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
O you of
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
ءَامَنُوا۟
have conviction!
لَا
Do not
تَقُولُوا۟
say,
رَٰعِنَا
[Take care of us],
وَقُولُوا۟
rather say,
ٱنظُرْنَا
[Watch us!],
وَٱسْمَعُوا۟
and they heard.
ۗ
وَلِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
And for the deniers is
عَذَابٌ
a punishment of
أَلِيمٌۭ
distress.
٢
١٠٤
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَقُولُوا۟ رَٰعِنَا وَقُولُوا۟ ٱنظُرْنَا وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ ۗ وَلِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ O you of the ones who have conviction! Do not say, [Take care of us], rather say, [Watch us!], and they heard. And for the deniers is a punishment of distress.
⦿
O ye who believe, say not (unto the Prophet): [Listen to us] but say [Look upon us,] and be ye listeners. For disbelievers is a painful doom. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O you who have faith! Do not say Ra[ina, but say Unzurna, and listen! And there is a painful punishment for the faithless. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Believers, do not address the Prophet as ra'ina (whereby the Jews, in their own accent, meant: Would that you would never hear, but call him unzurna) (meaning: Please speak to us slowly so that we understand), and then listen. The unbelievers will face a painful torment. - Sarwar, Muhammad

O you who believe! do not say Raina and say Unzurna and listen, and for the unbelievers there is a painful chastisement. - Shakir, Habib

مَّا
Neither
يَوَدُّ
desire
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
deny
مِنْ
from
أَهْلِ
(non-blood) family of
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
the Book,
وَلَا
nor
ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
those who associated,
أَن
that
يُنَزَّلَ
be sent down
عَلَيْكُم
upon you
مِّنْ
from
خَيْرٍۢ
goodnesses
مِّن
of
رَّبِّكُمْ
your Rabb.
ۗ
وَٱللَّهُ
While the One
يَخْتَصُّ
chooses
بِرَحْمَتِهِۦ
with His mercy
مَن
whoever
يَشَآءُ
He desires.
ۚ
وَٱللَّهُ
And the One is
ذُو
possessor of
ٱلْفَضْلِ
the grace,
ٱلْعَظِيمِ
that is most dignified.
٢
١٠٥
مَّا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَلَا ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ Neither desire those who deny from (non-blood) family of the Book, nor those who associated, that be sent down upon you from goodnesses of your Rabb. While the One chooses with His mercy whoever He desires. And the One is possessor of the grace, that is most dignified.

Neither those who disbelieve among the people of the Scripture nor the idolaters love that there should be sent down unto you any good thing from your Lord. But Allah chooseth for His mercy whom He will, and Allah is of Infinite Bounty. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Neither the faithless from among the People of the Book nor the idolaters like that any good be showered on you from your Lord; but Allah singles out for His mercy whomever He wishes, and Allah is dispenser of a mighty grace. - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
(Muhammad) the disbelievers among the People of the Book and the pagans do not like to see anything good revealed to you from your Lord. God reserves His mercy for whomever He chooses. The generosity of God is great. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Those who disbelieve from among the followers of the Book do not like, nor do the polytheists, that the good should be sent down to you from your Lord, and Allah chooses especially whom He pleases for His mercy, and Allah is the Lord of mighty grace. - Shakir, Habib

They who deny the truth from among the People of the Book, or from among those who associate partners with God, do not desire that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord. But God singles out for His grace whom He wills -- for God is limitless in His great bounty. - Wahiduddin Khan

کافر اہلِ کتاب یہود و نصارٰی اور عام مشرکین یہ نہیں چاہتے کہ تمہارے او پر پروردگار کی طرف سے کوئی خیر نازل ہو حالانکہ اللہ جسے چاہتاہے اپنی رحمت کے لئے مخصوص کرلیتا ہے اور اللہ بڑے فضل و کرم کا مالک ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

یہ لوگ جنہوں نے دعوت حق کو قبول کرنے سے انکار کر دیا ہے، خواہ اہل کتاب میں سے ہوں یا مشرک ہوں، ہرگز یہ پسند نہیں کرتے کہ تمہارے رب کی طرف سے تم پر کوئی بھلائی نازل ہو، مگر اللہ جس کو چاہتا ہے، اپنی رحمت کے لیے چن لیتا ہے اور وہ بڑا فضل فرمانے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وہ جو کافر ہیں کتابی یا مشرک وہ نہیں چاہتے کہ تم پر کوئی بھلائی اترے تمہارے رب کے پاس سے اور اللہ اپنی رحمت سے خاص کرتا ہے جسے چاہے اور اللہ بڑے فضل والا ہے - - Ahmed Raza

مِثْلِهَآ
like them.
ۗ
أَلَمْ
Do not
تَعْلَمْ
you know
أَنَّ
that
ٱللَّهَ
the One
عَلَىٰ
upon
كُلِّ
all
شَىْءٍۢ
things
قَدِيرٌ
is capable?
٢
١٠٦
مَا نَنسَخْ مِنْ ءَايَةٍ أَوْ نُنسِهَا نَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍۢ مِّنْهَآ أَوْ مِثْلِهَآ ۗ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌ Not We abrogate from signs, nor We overlook; We come with better ones from them or like them. Do not you know that the One upon all things is capable?
⦿
Nothing of our revelation (even a single verse) do we abrogate or cause be forgotten, but we bring (in place) one better or the like thereof. Knowest thou not that Allah is Able to do all things? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

For any verse that We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring another which is better than it, or similar to it. Do you not know that Allah has power over all things? - Qarai, Ali Quli
⦿
For whatever sign We change or eliminate or cause to recede into oblivion, We bring forth a better sign, one that is identical. Do you not know that God has power over all things? - Sarwar, Muhammad

Whatever communications We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or like it. Do you not know that Allah has power over all things? - Shakir, Habib

If We abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten, We will replace it by a better one or one similar to it. Do you not know that God has power over all things? - Wahiduddin Khan

اور اے رسول ہم جب بھی کسی آیت کو منسوخ کرتے ہیں یا دلوں سے محو کردیتے ہیں تو اس سے بہتر یا اس کی جیسی آیت ضرور لے آتے ہیں. کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ اللہ ہر شے پر قادر ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

ہم اپنی جس آیت کو منسوخ کر دیتے ہیں یا بُھلا دیتے ہیں، اس کی جگہ اس سے بہتر لے آتے ہیں یا کم از کم ویسی ہی کیا تم جانتے نہیں ہو کہ اللہ ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھتا ہے؟ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Do not

ٱللَّهَ
(it is) the One

مُلْكُ
ownership of
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the space
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the matter?
ۗ
وَمَا
And neither
لَكُم
for you
مِّن
from
دُونِ
lower than
ٱللَّهِ
the One is
مِن
of
وَلِىٍّۢ
a protector
وَلَا
nor
نَصِيرٍ
a helper.
٢
١٠٧
أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ Do not you know that (it is) the One for Whom is ownership of the space and the matter? And neither for you from lower than the One is of a protector nor a helper.

Knowest thou not that it is Allah unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and ye have not, beside Allah, any guardian or helper? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Do you not know that to Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth? And besides Allah, you do not have any guardian or helper. - Qarai, Ali Quli

رَسُولَكُمْ

مُوسَىٰ
Moosa
مِن
of
قَبْلُ
before?
ۗ
وَمَن
And whoever
يَتَبَدَّلِ
exchanges
ٱلْكُفْرَ
the denial
بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ
with the conviction
فَقَدْ
thus so
ضَلَّ
has strayed away from
سَوَآءَ
evenness of
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
the path.
٢
١٠٨
أَمْ تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ رَسُولَكُمْ كَمَا سُئِلَ مُوسَىٰ مِن قَبْلُ ۗ وَمَن يَتَبَدَّلِ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ Or you wish that you keep questioning that which was sent to you as how was questioned Moosa of before? And whoever exchanges the denial with the conviction thus so has strayed away from evenness of the path.

Desire
كَثِيرٌۭ
many
مِّنْ
from
أَهْلِ
(non-blood) family of
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
the Book
لَوْ
that
يَرُدُّونَكُم
they could make you turn back
مِّنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
إِيمَٰنِكُمْ
your surety,
كُفَّارًا
to denial,
حَسَدًۭا
being jealous
مِّنْ
from
عِندِ
against
أَنفُسِهِم
themselves,
مِّنۢ
from
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
what
تَبَيَّنَ
you make distinct
لَهُمُ
for them of
ٱلْحَقُّ
the fact.
ۖ
فَٱعْفُوا۟
Forgive
وَٱصْفَحُوا۟
and pardon,
حَتَّىٰ
till
يَأْتِىَ
delivers
ٱللَّهُ
the One
بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ
with His command;
ۗ
إِنَّ
certainly
ٱللَّهَ
the One
عَلَىٰ
upon
كُلِّ
every
شَىْءٍۢ
thing is
قَدِيرٌۭ
capable.
٢
١٠٩
وَدَّ كَثِيرٌۭ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يَرُدُّونَكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كُفَّارًا حَسَدًۭا مِّنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِهِم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَٱعْفُوا۟ وَٱصْفَحُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِىَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ Desire many from (non-blood) family of the Book that they could make you turn back from after your surety, to denial, being jealous from against themselves, from after what you make distinct for them of the fact. Forgive and pardon, till delivers the One with His command; certainly the One upon every thing is capable.

Many of the people of the Scripture long to make you disbelievers after your belief, through envy on their own account, after the truth hath become manifest unto them. Forgive and be indulgent (toward them) until Allah give command. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Many of the People of the Book are eager to turn you into unbelievers after your faith, out of their inner envy, [and] after the truth had become manifest to them. Yet excuse [them] and forbear until Allah issues His edict. Indeed Allah has power over all things. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Once you have accepted the faith, many of the People of the Book would love, out of envy, to turn you back to disbelief, even after the Truth has become evident to them. Have forgiveness and bear with them until God issues His order. God has power over all things. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Many of the followers of the Book wish that they could turn you back into unbelievers after your faith, out of envy from themselves, (even) after the truth has become manifest to them; but pardon and forgive, so that Allah should bring about His command; surely Allah has power over all things. - Shakir, Habib

اہل کتاب میں سے اکثر لوگ یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ کسی طرح تمہیں ایمان سے پھیر کر پھر کفر کی طرف پلٹا لے جائیں اگرچہ حق ان پر ظاہر ہو چکا ہے، مگر اپنے نفس کے حسد کی بنا پر تمہارے لیے ان کی یہ خواہش ہے اس کے جواب میں تم عفو و در گزر سے کام لو یہاں تک کہ اللہ خود ہی اپنا فیصلہ نافذ کر دے مطمئن رہو کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بہت کتابیوں نے چاہا کاش تمہیں ایمان کے بعد کفر کی طرف پھیردیں اپنے دلوں کی جلن سے بعد اس کے کہ حق ان پر خوب ظاہر ہوچکا ہے تو تم چھوڑو اور درگزر کرو یہاں تک کہ اللہ اپنا حکم لائے بیشک اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے - - Ahmed Raza

(اے مسلمانو!) بہت سے اہل کتاب اپنے ذاتی حسد کی وجہ سے چاہتے ہیں کہ ایمان لانے کے بعد تمہیں پھر کافر بنا دیں باوجودیکہ ان پر حق واضح ہو چکا ہے سو تم عفو و درگزر سے کام لو یہاں تک کہ اللہ ان کے بارے میں اپنا حکم بھیجے یقینا اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَمَا
and what
تُقَدِّمُوا۟
you put forth
لِأَنفُسِكُم
for your own self
مِّنْ
of
خَيْرٍۢ
goodness,
تَجِدُوهُ
you will find it
عِندَ
near
ٱللَّهِ
the One;
ۗ
إِنَّ
surely
ٱللَّهَ
the One
بِمَا
with what
تَعْمَلُونَ
you are doing,
بَصِيرٌۭ
is observant.
٢
١١٠
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍۢ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌۭ And establish the discipline, and produce the freedom; and what you put forth for your own self of goodness, you will find it near the One; surely the One with what you are doing, is observant.

Establish worship, and pay the poor-due; and whatever of good ye send before (you) for your souls, ye will find it with Allah. Lo! Allah is Seer of what ye do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And maintain the prayer and give the zakat. Any good that you send ahead for your own souls, you shall find it with Allah. Indeed Allah watches what you do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Be steadfast in your prayer and pay the religious tax. You will receive a good reward from God for all your good works. God is Well-aware of what you do. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and whatever good you send before for yourselves, you shall find it with Allah; surely Allah sees what you do. - Shakir, Habib

Attend to your prayers and pay the prescribed alms; any good you store up for yourselves, you will find it with God. Certainly, God sees what you do. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور تم نماز قائم کرو اور زکوِٰ ادا کرو کہ جو کچھ اپنے واسطے پہلے بھیج دو گے سب خدا کے یہاں مل جائے گا. خدا تمہارے اعمال کو خوب دیکھنے والا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

نماز قائم کرو اور زکوٰۃ دو تم اپنی عاقبت کے لیے جو بھلائی کما کر آگے بھیجو گے، اللہ کے ہاں اسے موجود پاؤ گے جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو، وہ سب اللہ کی نظر میں ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور نماز قائم رکھو اور زکوٰة دو اور اپنی جانوں کے لئے جو بھلائی آگے بھیجو گے اسے اللہ کے یہاں پاؤ گے بیشک اللہ تمہارے کام دیکھ رہا ہے- - Ahmed Raza

اور نماز قائم کرو۔ اور زکوٰۃ ادا کرو۔ اور جو کچھ نیکی اور بھلائی اپنے لئے (زادِ راہ کے طور پر) آگے بھیج دوگے اسے اللہ کے یہاں موجود پاؤگے جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اللہ اسے دیکھ رہا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
