So they twain set out till, when they were in the ship, he made a hole therein. (Moses) said: Hast thou made a hole therein to drown the folk thereof? Thou verily hast done a dreadful thing. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So they went on and when they boarded the boat, he made a hole in it. He said, [Did you make a hole in it to drown its people? You have certainly done a monstrous thing!] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They started their journey and some time latter they embarked in a boat in which he made a hole. Moses asked him, [Did you make the hole to drown the people on board? This is certainly very strange]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

So they went (their way) until when they embarked in the boat he made a hole in it. (Musa) said: Have you made a hole in it to drown its inmates? Certainly you have done a grievous thing. - Shakir, Habib

So they set out, but, when they got into a boat, the man made a hole in it. Moses exclaimed, [Have you made a hole in the boat to drown the people in it? You have indeed done a dreadful thing!] - Wahiduddin Khan

پس دونوں چلے یہاں تک کہ جب کشتی میں سوار ہوئے تو اس بندہ خدا نے اس میں سوراخ کردیا موسٰی نے کہا کہ کیا آپ نے اس لئے سوراخ کیا ہے کہ سواریوں کو ڈبو دیں یہ تو بڑی عجیب و غریب بات ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اب وہ دونوں روانہ ہوئے، یہاں تک کہ جب وہ ایک کشتی میں سوار ہو گئے تو اس شخص نے کشتی میں شگاف ڈال دیا موسیٰؑ نے کہا ——آپ نے اس میں شگاف ڈال دیا تاکہ سب کشتی والوں کو ڈبو دیں؟ یہ تو آپ نے ایک سخت حرکت کر ڈالی—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اب دونوں چلے یہاں تک کہ جب کشتی میں سوار ہوئے اس بندہ نے اسے چیر ڈالا موسیٰ نے کہا کیا تم نے اسے اس لیے چیرا کہ اس کے سواروں کو ڈبا دو بیشک یہ تم نے بری بات کی، - Ahmed Raza

اس کے بعد دونوں چل پڑے یہاں تک کہ جب کشتی میں سوار ہوگئے تو خضر (ع) نے اس میں سوراخ کر دیا۔ موسیٰ نے کہا۔ آپ نے اس لئے کشتی میں سوراخ کیا ہے کہ سب کشتی والوں کو غرق کر دیں؟ آپ نے بڑی عجیب حرکت کی ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

So they twain journeyed on till, when they met a lad, he slew him. (Moses) said: What! Hast thou slain an innocent soul who hath slain no man? Verily thou hast done a horrid thing. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So they went on until they came upon a boy, whereat he slew him. He said, [Did you slay an innocent soul, without [his having slain] anyone? You have certainly done a dire thing!] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They continued on their journey until they met a young boy whom he killed. Moses said, [How could you murder an innocent soul? This is certainly a horrible act]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

So they went on until, when they met a boy, he slew him. (Musa) said: Have you slain an innocent person otherwise than for manslaughter? Certainly you have done an evil thing. - Shakir, Habib

So they travelled on. Then they met a young boy and the man killed him. Moses said, [Have you slain an innocent person without his having slain anyone? Indeed, you have done a terrible thing!] - Wahiduddin Khan

پھر دونوں آگے بڑھے یہاں تک کہ ایک نوجوان نظر آیا اور اس بندہ خدا نے اسے قتل کردیا موسٰی نے کہا کہ کیا آپ نے ایک پاکیزہ نفس کو بغیر کسی نفس کے قتل کردیا ہے یہ تو بڑی عجیب سی بات ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر وہ دونوں چلے، یہاں تک کہ ان کو ایک لڑکا ملا اور اس شخص نے اسے قتل کر دیا موسیٰؑ نے کہا ——آپ نے ایک بے گناہ کی جان لے لی حالانکہ اُس نے کسی کا خون نہ کیا تھا؟ یہ کام تو آپ نے بہت ہی برا کیا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر دونوں چلے یہاں تک کہ جب ایک لڑکا ملا اس بندہ نے اسے قتل کردیا، موسیٰ نے کہا کیا تم نے ایک ستھری جان بے کسی جان کے بدلے قتل کردی، بیشک تم نے بہت بری بات کی، - Ahmed Raza

چنانچہ پھر دونوں چل پڑے یہاں تک کہ ایک لڑکے سے ملے تو اس بندہ نے اسے قتل کر دیا۔ موسیٰ نے کہا آپ نے ایک پاکیزہ نفس (بے گناہ) کو قصاص کے بغیر قتل کر دیا۔ یہ تو آپ نے سخت برا کام کیا۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

فَٱنطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَتَيَآ أَهْلَ قَرْيَةٍ ٱسْتَطْعَمَآ أَهْلَهَا فَأَبَوْا۟ أَن يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيهَا جِدَارًۭا يُرِيدُ أَن يَنقَضَّ فَأَقَامَهُۥ ۖ قَالَ لَوْ شِئْتَ لَتَّخَذْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

So they twain journeyed on till, when they came unto the folk of a certain township, they asked its folk for food, but they refused to make them guests. And they found therein a wall upon the point of falling into ruin, and he repaired it. (Moses) said: If thou hadst wished, thou couldst have taken payment for it. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

So they went on until they came to the people of a town. They asked its people for food, but they refused to extend them any hospitality. There they found a wall which was about to collapse, so he erected it. He said, [Had you wished, you could have taken a wage for it.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

They continued on their journey again until they reached a town. They asked the people there for food, but no one accepted them as their guests. They found there a wall of a house which was on the verge of tumbling to the ground. The companion of Moses repaired that wall. Moses said, [You should have received some money for your labor.] - Sarwar, Muhammad

So they went on until when they came to the people of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused to entertain them as guests. Then they found in it a wall which was on the point of falling, so he put it into a right state. (Musa) said: If you had pleased, you might certainly have taken a recompense for it. - Shakir, Habib

So they went on until they came to a town. They asked its people for food, but were refused hospitality. They found a wall in the town which was about to fall down. His companion buttressed it and Moses said, [Had you wished, you could have demanded payment for your labours.] - Wahiduddin Khan

پھر دونوں آگے چلتے رہے یہاں تک کہ ایک قریہ والوں تک پہنچے اور ان سے کھانا طلب کیا ان لوگوں نے مہمان بنانے سے انکار کردیا پھر دونوں نے ایک دیوار دیکھی جو قریب تھا کہ گر پڑتی - بندہ صالح نے اسے سیدھا کردیا تو موسٰی نے کہا کہ آپ چاہتے تو اس کی اجرت لے سکتے تھے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر وہ آگے چلے یہاں تک کہ ایک بستی میں پہنچے اور وہاں کے لوگوں سے کھانا مانگا مگر انہوں نے ان دونوں کی ضیافت سے انکار کر دیا وہاں انہوں نے ایک دیوار دیکھی جوگرا چاہتی تھی اُس شخص نے اس دیوار کو پھر قائم کر دیا موسیٰؑ نے کہا —— اگر آپ چاہتے تو اس کام کی اُجرت لے سکتے تھے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر دونوں چلے یہاں تک کہ جب ایک گاؤں والوں کے پاس آئے ان دہقانوں سے کھانا مانگا انہوں نے انہیں دعوت دینی قبول نہ کی پھر دونوں نے اس گاؤں میں ایک دیوار پا ئی کہ گرا چاہتی ہے اس بندہ نے اسے سیدھا کردیا، موسیٰ نے کہا تم چاہتے تو اس پر کچھ مزدوری لے لیتے - Ahmed Raza

اس کے بعد وہ دونوں آگے چلے یہاں تک کہ ایک گاؤں والوں کے پاس پہنچے اور ان سے کھانا طلب کیا۔ مگر انہوں نے ان کی مہمانداری کرنے سے انکار کر دیا۔ پھر ان دونوں نے وہاں ایک دیوار پائی جو گرا چاہتی تھی۔ تو خضر (ع) نے اسے (بنا کر) سیدھا کھڑا کر دیا۔ (اس پر) موسیٰ (ع) نے کہا اگر آپ چاہتے تو اس کام کی (ان لوگوں سے) کچھ اجرت ہی لے لیتے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
