Coin for them a similitude: Two men, unto one of whom We had assigned two gardens of grapes, and We had surrounded both with date-palms and had put between them tillage. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Each of the gardens gave its fruit and withheld naught thereof. And We caused a river to gush forth therein. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And he had fruit. And he said unto his comrade, when he spake with him: I am more than thee in wealth, and stronger in respect of men. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He had abundant fruits, so he said to his companion, as he conversed with him: [I have more wealth than you, and am stronger with respect to numbers.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

And he possessed much wealth; so he said to his companion, while he disputed with him: I have greater wealth than you, and am mightier in followers. - Shakir, Habib

وَدَخَلَ جَنَّتَهُۥ وَهُوَ ظَالِمٌۭ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ قَالَ مَآ أَظُنُّ أَن تَبِيدَ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أَبَدًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And he went into his garden, while he (thus) wronged himself. He said: I think not that all this will ever perish. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He entered his garden while he wronged himself. He said, [I do not think that this will ever perish, - Qarai, Ali Quli

He unjustly entered his garden and said, [I do not think this (property) will ever perish - Sarwar, Muhammad

وہ اسی عالم میں اپنے نفس پر ظلم کررہا تھا اپنے باغ میں داخل ہوا اور کہنے لگا کہ میں تو خیال بھی کرتا ہوں کہ یہ کبھی تباہ بھی نہیں ہوسکتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

پھر وہ اپنی جنّت میں داخل ہوا اور اپنے نفس کے حق میں ظالم بن کر کہنے لگا ——میں نہیں سمجھتا کہ یہ دولت کبھی فنا ہو جائے گی - Maududi, Abul A'ala

قَالَ لَهُۥ صَاحِبُهُۥ وَهُوَ يُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ أَكَفَرْتَ بِٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ مِن تُرَابٍۢ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍۢ ثُمَّ سَوَّىٰكَ رَجُلًۭا [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

His comrade, when he (thus) spake with him, exclaimed: Disbelievest thou in Him Who created thee of dust, then of a drop (of seed), and then fashioned thee a man? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

His companion said to him, as he conversed with him: [Do you disbelieve in Him who created you from dust, then from a drop of [seminal] fluid, then fashioned you as a man? - Qarai, Ali Quli

His friend said to him, [How can you disbelieve in the One who turned clay into sperm out of which He created you? - Sarwar, Muhammad

His companion said to him while disputing with him: Do you disbelieve in Him Who created you from dust, then from a small seed, then He made you a perfect man? - Shakir, Habib

His companion replied, in the course of their discussion, [Do you deny Him who created you from dust, from a small drop of fluid, then formed you into a man? - Wahiduddin Khan

And his fruit was beset (with destruction). Then began he to wring his hands for all that he had spent upon it, when (now) it was all ruined on its trellises, and to say: Would that I had ascribed no partner to my Lord! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And ruin closed in on his produce, and he began to wring his hands for what he had spent on it, as it lay fallen on its trellises. He was saying, [I wish I had not ascribed any partner to my Lord.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Sure enough the rich person's) fruits were all destroyed and he began to wring his hands in grief for all that he had invested in his garden. He found his garden tumbled to its trellises and said, [Would that I had not considered anything equal to my Lord]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And his wealth was destroyed; so he began to wring his hands for what he had spent on it, while it lay, having fallen down upon its roofs, and he said: Ah me! would that I had not associated anyone with my Lord. - Shakir, Habib

So it was, and all his fruit was destroyed. The vines had all fallen down on their trellises, and their owner wrung his hands, bewailing all that he had spent on his garden. He said, [Would that I had not associated anyone with my Lord!] - Wahiduddin Khan

اور پھر اس کے باغ کے پھل آفت میں گھیر دیئے گئے تو وہ ان اخراجات پر ہاتھ ملنے لگا جو اس نے باغ کی تیاری پر صرف کئے تھے جب کہ باغ اپنی شاخوں کے بل اُلٹا پڑا ہوا تھا اور وہ کہہ رہا تھا کہ اے کاش میں کسی کو اپنے پروردگار کا شریک نہ بناتا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

آخرکار ہوا یہ کہ اس کا سارا ثمرہ مارا گیا اور وہ اپنے انگوروں کے باغ کو ٹٹیوں پر الٹا پڑا دیکھ کر اپنی لگائی ہوئی لاگت پر ہاتھ ملتا رہ گیا اور کہنے لگا کہ ——کاش! میں نے اپنے رب کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ ٹھیرایا ہوتا—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اس کے پھل گھیر لیے گئے تو اپنے ہاتھ ملتا رہ گیا اس لاگت پر جو اس باغ میں خرچ کی تھی اور وہ اپنی ٹیٹوں پر (اوندھے منہ) گرا ہوا تھا اور کہہ رہا ہے، اے کاش! میں نے اپنے رب کا کسی کو شریک نہ کیا ہوتا، - Ahmed Raza
