Then lo! thy Lord - for those who became fugitives after they had been persecuted, and then fought and were steadfast - lo! thy Lord afterward is (for them) indeed Forgiving, Merciful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Thereafter your Lord will indeed be forgiving and merciful to those who migrated after they were persecuted, waged jihad and remained steadfast. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Those who left their homes for the cause of God after they had been persecuted, strove hard for His cause and exercised patience should know (even though they had verbally renounced their faith) that your Lord is All-forgiving and All-merciful. - Sarwar, Muhammad

بخلاف اس کے جن لوگوں کا حال یہ ہے کہ جب (ایمان لانے کی وجہ سے) وہ ستائے گئے تو اُنہوں نے گھر بار چھوڑ دیے، ہجرت کی، راہ خدا میں سختیاں جھیلیں اور صبرسے کام لیا، اُن کے لیے یقیناً تیرا رب غفور و رحیم ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Allah coineth a similitude: a township that dwelt secure and well content, its provision coming to it in abundance from every side, but it disbelieved in Allah's favours, so Allah made it experience the garb of dearth and fear because of what they used to do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Allah draws a parable: There was a town secure and peaceful, its provision coming abundantly from every place. But it was ungrateful toward Allah]s blessings. So Allah made it taste hunger and fear because of what they used to do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

And Allah sets forth a parable: (Consider) a town safe and secure to which its means of subsistence come in abundance from every quarter; but it became ungrateful to Allah's favors, therefore Allah made it to taste the utmost degree of hunger and fear because of what they wrought. - Shakir, Habib

اللہ ایک بستی کی مثال دیتا ہے وہ امن و اطمینان کی زندگی بسر کر رہی تھی اور ہر طرف سے اس کو بفراغت رزق پہنچ رہا تھا کہ اُس نے اللہ کی نعمتوں کا کفران شروع کر دیا تب اللہ نے اس کے باشندوں کو اُن کے کرتوتوں کا یہ مزا چکھایا کہ بھوک اور خوف کی مصیبتیں ان پر چھا گئیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala
