فَلَمَّا ٱسْتَيْـَٔسُوا۟ مِنْهُ خَلَصُوا۟ نَجِيًّۭا ۖ قَالَ كَبِيرُهُمْ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ أَبَاكُمْ قَدْ أَخَذَ عَلَيْكُم مَّوْثِقًۭا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ مَا فَرَّطتُمْ فِى يُوسُفَ ۖ فَلَنْ أَبْرَحَ ٱلْأَرْضَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْذَنَ لِىٓ أَبِىٓ أَوْ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ لِى ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْحَٰكِمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

So, When they despaired of (moving) him, they conferred together apart. The eldest of them said: Know ye not how your father took an undertaking from you in Allah's name and how ye failed in the case of Joseph aforetime? Therefore I shall not go forth from the land until my father giveth leave or Allah judgeth for me. He is the Best of Judges. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When they had despaired of [moving] him, they withdrew to confer privately. The eldest of them said, [Don]t you know that your father has taken a [solemn] pledge from you by Allah, and earlier you have neglected your duty in regard to Joseph? When they lost all hope (of convincing the Prince), they moved into a corner whispering to each other. The eldest among them said, [Do you not remember that you had solemnly promised our father to return Benjamin to him and that before this you had broken your promise concerning Joseph? اب جب وہ لوگ یوسف کی طرف سے مایوس ہوگئے تو الگ جاکر مشورہ کرنے لگے تو سب سے بڑے نے کہا کہ کیا تمہیں نہیں معلوم کہ تمہارے باپ نے تم سے خدائی عہد لیا ہے اور اس سے پہلے بھی تم یوسف کے بارے میں کوتاہی کرحُکے ہو تو اب میں تو اس سرزمین کو نہ چھوڑوں گا یہاں تک کہ والد محترم اجازت دے دیں یا خدا میرے حق میں کوئی فیصلہ کردے کہ وہ بہترین فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جب وہ یوسفؑ سے مایوس ہو گئے تو ایک گوشے میں جا کر آپس میں مشورہ کرنے لگے ان میں جو سب سے بڑا تھا وہ بولا ——تم جانتے نہیں ہو کہ تمہارے والد تم سے خدا کے نام پر کیا عہد و پیمان لے چکے ہیں اور اس سے پہلے یوسفؑ کے معاملہ میں جو زیادتی تم کر چکے ہو وہ بھی تم کو معلوم ہے اب میں تو یہاں سے ہرگز نہ جاؤں گا جب تک کہ میرے والد مجھے اجازت نہ دیں، یا پھر اللہ ہی میرے حق میں کوئی فیصلہ فرما دے کہ وہ سب سے بہتر فیصلہ کرنے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر جب اس سے نا امید ہوئے الگ جاکر سرگوشی کرنے لگے، ان کا بڑا بھائی بولا کیا تمہیں خبر نہیں کہ تمہارے باپ نے تم سے اللہ کا عہد لے لیا تھا اور اس سے پہلے یوسف کے حق میں تم نے کیسی تقصیر کی تو میں یہاں سے نہ ٹلوں گا یہاں تک کہ میرے باپ اجازت دیں یا اللہ مجھے حکم فرمائے اور اس کا حکم سب سے بہتر، - Ahmed Raza

(And when they came unto their father and had spoken thus to him) he said: Nay, but your minds have beguiled you into something. (My course is) comely patience! It may be that Allah will bring them all unto me. Lo! He, only He, is the Knower, the Wise. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [No, your souls have made a matter seem decorous to you. Yet patience is graceful. Maybe Allah will bring them all [back] to me. Indeed He is the All-knowing, the All-wise.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

(When he heard this), Jacob said, [Your souls have tempted you to make up the whole story. Let us be patient for perhaps God will bring them all back to me. God is certainly All-knowing and All-wise]. - Sarwar, Muhammad

He (Yaqoub) said: Nay, your souls have made a matter light for you, so patience is good; maybe Allah will bring them all together to me; surely He is the Knowing, the Wise. - Shakir, Habib

باپ نے یہ داستان سن کر کہا ——دراصل تمہارے نفس نے تمہارے لیے ایک اور بڑی بات کو سہل بنا دیا اچھا اس پر بھی صبر کروں گا اور بخوبی کروں گا کیا بعید ہے کہ اللہ ان سب کو مجھ سے لا ملا ئے، وہ سب کچھ جانتا ہے اور اس کے سب کام حکمت پر مبنی ہیں—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

آپ (ع) نے (یہ قصہ سن کر) کہا (ایسا نہیں ہے) بلکہ تمہارے نفسوں نے یہ بات تمہارے لئے گھڑ لی ہے (اور خوشنما کرکے سجھائی ہے) تو اب (میرے لئے) صبرِ جمیل ہی اولیٰ ہے امید ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ سب کو میرے پاس لائے گا بے شک وہ بڑا علم والا، بڑا حکمت والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

وَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَٰٓأَسَفَىٰ عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَٱبْيَضَّتْ عَيْنَاهُ مِنَ ٱلْحُزْنِ فَهُوَ كَظِيمٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And he turned away from them and said: Alas, my grief for Joseph! And his eyes were whitened with the sorrow that he was suppressing. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when they came (again) before him (Joseph) they said: O ruler! Misfortune hath touched us and our folk, and we bring but poor merchandise, so fill for us the measure and be charitable unto us. Lo! Allah will requite the charitable, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then, when they entered into his presence, they said, [O emir! Distress has befallen us and our family, and we have brought [just] a meagre sum. Yet grant us the full measure, and be charitable to us! Indeed Allah rewards the charitable.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

جب یہ لوگ مصر جا کر یوسفؑ کی پیشی میں داخل ہوئے تو انہوں نے عرض کیا کہ ——اے سردار با اقتدار، ہم اور ہمارے اہل و عیال سخت مصیبت میں مبتلا ہیں اور ہم کچھ حقیر سی پونجی لے کر آئے ہیں، آپ ہمیں بھر پور غلہ عنایت فرمائیں اور ہم کو خیرات دیں، اللہ خیرات کرنے والوں کو جزا دیتا ہے—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

پھر جب وہ یوسف کے پاس پہنچے بولے اے عزیز ہمیں اور ہمارے گھر والوں کو مصیبت پہنچی اور ہم بے قدر پونجی لے کر آئے ہیں تو آپ ہمیں پورا ناپ دیجئے اور ہم پر خیرات کیجئے بیشک اللہ خیرات والوں کو صلہ دیتا ہے - Ahmed Raza
