وَٱتَّبَعْتُ
And I follow
مِلَّةَ
doctrine of
ءَابَآءِىٓ
my forefathers
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
Ibrahim
وَإِسْحَٰقَ
and Ishaaq;
وَيَعْقُوبَ
and Yaqoob;
ۚ
مَا
not
كَانَ
has been
لَنَآ
for us
أَن
that
نُّشْرِكَ
we take on partners
بِٱللَّهِ
with the One
مِن
from
شَىْءٍۢ
a thing;
ۚ
ذَٰلِكَ
that is
مِن
from
فَضْلِ
grace of
ٱللَّهِ
the One
عَلَيْنَا
upon us,
وَعَلَى
and upon
ٱلنَّاسِ
the populace,
وَلَٰكِنَّ
but
أَكْثَرَ
many of
ٱلنَّاسِ
the people
لَا
are not
يَشْكُرُونَ
thankful.

وَٱتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ ءَابَآءِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۚ مَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نُّشْرِكَ بِٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍۢ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ And I follow doctrine of my forefathers Ibrahim and Ishaaq; and Yaqoob; not has been for us that we take on partners with the One from a thing; that is from grace of the One upon us, and upon the populace, but many of the people are not thankful.

And I have followed the religion of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. It never was for us to attribute aught as partner to Allah. This is of the bounty of Allah unto us (the seed of Abraham) and unto mankind; but most men give not thanks. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Those whom ye worship beside Him are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers. Allah hath revealed no sanction for them. The decision rests with Allah only, Who hath commanded you that ye worship none save Him. This is the right religion, but most men know not. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اُس کو چھوڑ کر تم جن کی بندگی کر رہے ہو وہ اس کے سوا کچھ نہیں ہیں کہ بس چند نام ہیں جو تم نے اور تمہارے آباؤ اجداد نے رکھ لیے ہیں، اللہ نے ان کے لیے کوئی سند نازل نہیں کی فرماں روائی کا اقتدار اللہ کے سوا کسی کے لیے نہیں ہے اس کا حکم ہے کہ خود اس کے سوا تم کسی کی بندگی نہ کرو یہی ٹھیٹھ سیدھا طریق زندگی ہے، مگر اکثر لوگ جانتے نہیں ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

يَٰصَٰحِبَىِ ٱلسِّجْنِ أَمَّآ أَحَدُكُمَا فَيَسْقِى رَبَّهُۥ خَمْرًۭا ۖ وَأَمَّا ٱلْـَٔاخَرُ فَيُصْلَبُ فَتَأْكُلُ ٱلطَّيْرُ مِن رَّأْسِهِۦ ۚ قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ تَسْتَفْتِيَانِ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

O my two fellow-prisoners! As for one of you, he will pour out wine for his lord to drink; and as for the other, he will be crucified so that the birds will eat from his head. Thus is the case judged concerning which ye did inquire. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

یوسفؑ نے کہا ——سات بر س تک لگاتار تم لوگ کھیتی باڑی کرتے رہو گے اس دوران میں جو فصلیں تم کاٹو اُن میں سے بس تھوڑا ساحصہ، جو تمہاری خوراک کے کام آئے، نکالو اور باقی کو اس کی بالوں ہی میں رہنے دو - Maududi, Abul A'ala
