They said: O Shu'eyb! Doth thy way of prayer command thee that we should forsake that which our fathers (used to) worship, or that we (should leave off) doing what we will with our own property. Lo! thou art the mild, the guide to right behaviour. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

انہوں نے جواب دیا ——اے شعیبؑ، کیا تیری نماز تجھے یہ سکھاتی ہے کہ ہم ان سارے معبودوں کو چھوڑ دیں جن کی پر ستش ہمارے باپ دادا کرتے تھے؟ یا یہ کہ ہم کو اپنے مال میں اپنے منشا کے مطابق تصرف کرنے کا اختیار نہ ہو؟ بس تو ہی تو ایک عالی ظرف اور راستباز آدمی رہ گیا ہے!—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

He said: O my people! Bethink you: if I am (acting) on a clear proof from my Lord and He sustaineth me with fair sustenance from Him (how can I concede aught to you)? I desire not to do behind your backs that which I ask you not to do. I desire naught save reform so far as I am able. My welfare is only in Allah. In Him I trust and unto Him I turn (repentant). - Pickthall, Marmaduke

He said, [O my people! Have you considered, should I stand on a manifest proof from my Lord, who has provided me a good provision from Himself? I do not wish to oppose you by what I forbid you. I only desire to put things in order, as far as I can, and my success lies only with Allah: in Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn penitently. - Qarai, Ali Quli

He said, [My people, do you not realize that I have received authoritative evidence from my Lord and have been granted a noble gift from Him? I do not want to oppose or ignore what I have prohibited you not to do. I only intend to reform you as much as I can. My success is in the hands of God. شعیب نے کہا کہ اے قوم والو تمہارا کیا خیال ہے کہ اگر میں خدا کی طرف سے روشن دلیل رکھتا ہوں اور اس نے مجھے بہترین رزق عطا کردیا ہے اور میں یہ بھی نہیں چاہتا ہوں کہ جس چیز سے تم کو روکتا ہوں خود اسی کی خلاف ورزی کروں میں تو صرف اصلاح چاہتا ہوں جہاں تک میرے امکان میں ہو -میری توفیق صرف اللہ سے وابستہ ہے اسی پر میرا اعتماد ہے اور اسی کی طرف میں توجہ کررہا ہوں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

شعیبؑ نے کہا ——بھائیو، تم خود ہی سوچو کہ اگر میں اپنے رب کی طرف سے ایک کھلی شہادت پر تھا اور پھر اس نے اپنے ہاں سے مجھ کو اچھا رزق بھی عطا کیا (تو اس کے بعد میں تمہاری گمراہیوں اور حرام خوریوں میں تمہارا شریک حال کیسے ہوسکتا ہوں؟) اور میں ہرگز یہ نہیں چاہتا کہ جن باتوں سے میں تم کو روکتا ہوں ان کا خود ارتکاب کروں میں تو اصلاح کرنا چاہتا ہوں جہاں تک بھی میرا بس چلے اور یہ جو کچھ میں کرنا چاہتا ہوں اس کا سارا انحصار اللہ کی توفیق پر ہے، اُسی پر میں نے بھروسہ کیا اور ہر معاملہ میں اسی کی طرف میں رجوع کرتا ہوں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

کہا اے میری قوم بھلا بتاؤ تو اگر میں اپنے رب کی طرف سے ایک روشن دلیل پر ہوں او راس نے مجھے اپنے پاس سے اچھی روزی دی اور میں نہیں چاہتا ہوں کہ جس بات سے تمہیں منع کرتا ہوں آپ اس کے خلاف کرنے لگوں میں تو جہاں تک بنے سنوارنا ہی چاہتا ہوں، اور میری توفیق اللہ ہی کی طرف سے ہے، میں نے اسی پر بھروسہ کیا اور اسی کی طرف رجوع ہوتا ہوں، - Ahmed Raza

آپ(ع) نے کہا میری قوم! مجھے غور کرکے بتاؤ اگر میں اپنے پروردگار کی طرف سے (اپنی صداقت کی) روشن دلیل رکھتا ہوں اور پھر اس نے اپنی بارگاہ سے مجھے اچھی روزی بھی دی ہو (تو پھر کس طرح تبلیغِ حق نہ کروں؟) اور میں یہ بھی نہیں چاہتا کہ جن چیزوں سے تمہیں روکتا ہوں۔ خود ان کے خلاف چلوں۔ میں تو صرف اصلاح (احوال) چاہتا ہوں جہاں تک میرے بس میں ہے۔ اور میری توفیق تو صرف اللہ کی طرف سے ہے اسی پر میرا بھروسہ ہے اور اسی کی طرف (اپنے تمام معاملات میں) رجوع کرتا ہوں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

And, O my people! Let not the schism with me cause you to sin so that there befall you that which befell the folk of Noah and the folk of Hud, and the folk of Salih; and the folk of Lot are not far off from you. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

O my people, do not let your defiance toward me lead you to be visited by the like of what was visited on the people of Noah, or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih, and the people of Lot are not distant from you. - Qarai, Ali Quli

اور اے برادران قوم، میرے خلاف تمہاری ہٹ دھرمی کہیں یہ نوبت نہ پہنچا دے کہ آخر کار تم پر بھی وہی عذاب آ کر رہے جو نوحؑ یا ہودؑ یا صالحؑ کی قوم پر آیا تھا اور لوطؑ کی قوم تو تم سے کچھ زیادہ دور بھی نہیں ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا شُعَيْبًۭا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍۢ مِّنَّا وَأَخَذَتِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دِيَٰرِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And when Our commandment came to pass We saved Shu'eyb and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us; and the (Awful) Cry seized those who did injustice, and morning found them prostrate in their dwellings, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

When Our edict came, We delivered Shu[ayb and the faithful who were with him by a mercy from Us. And the Cry seized those who were wrongdoers, whereat they lay lifeless prostrate in their homes, - Qarai, Ali Quli

When Our decree came to pass, We mercifully saved Shu'ayb and his faithful followers. A blast struck the unjust and left them in their homes, lying motionless on their faces, - Sarwar, Muhammad

And when Our decree came to pass We delivered Shu'aib, and those who believed with him by mercy from Us, and the rumbling overtook those who were unjust so they became motionless bodies in their abodes, - Shakir, Habib

When Our command came, We saved Shu'ayb and those who believed with him as a mercy from Ourself, while the blast overtook the wrongdoers, so that they lay dead in their homes, - Wahiduddin Khan

اور جب ہمارا حکم (عذاب)آگیا تو ہم نے شعیب اور ان کے ساتھ ایمان لانے والوں کو اپنی رحمت سے بچالیا اور ظلم کرنے والوں کو ایک چنگھاڑنے پکڑ لیا تو وہ اپنے دیار ہی میں الٹ پلٹ ہوگئے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

آخر کار جب ہمارے فیصلے کا وقت آ گیا تو ہم نے اپنی رحمت سے شعیبؑ اور اس کے ساتھی مومنوں کو بچا لیا اور جن لوگوں نے ظلم کیا تھا ان کو ایک سخت دھماکے نے ایسا پکڑا کہ وہ اپنی بستیوں میں بے حس و حرکت پڑے کے پڑے رہ گئے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جب ہمارا حکم آیا ہم نے شعیب اور اس کے ساتھ کے مسلمانوں کو اپنی رحمت فرماکر بچالیا اور ظالموں کو چنگھاڑ نے آ لیا تو صبح اپنے گھروں میں گھٹنوں کے بل پڑے رہ گئے، - Ahmed Raza
