فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلرَّوْعُ وَجَآءَتْهُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ يُجَٰدِلُنَا فِى قَوْمِ لُوطٍ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And when the awe departed from Abraham, and the glad news reached him, he pleaded with Us on behalf of the folk of Lot. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And when Our messengers came unto Lot, he was distressed and knew not how to protect them. He said: This is a distressful day. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

وَجَآءَهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ يُهْرَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِى هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ فِى ضَيْفِىٓ ۖ أَلَيْسَ مِنكُمْ رَجُلٌۭ رَّشِيدٌۭ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And his people came unto him, running towards him - and before then they used to commit abominations - He said: O my people! Here are my daughters! They are purer for you. Beware of Allah, and degrade me not in (the person of) my guests. Is there not among you any upright man? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Then his people came running toward him, and they had been committing vices aforetime. He said, [O my people, these are my daughters: they are purer for you. Be wary of Allah and do not humiliate me with regard to my guests. Is there not a right-minded man among you?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

He said: O my people! these are my daughters-- they are purer for you, so guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not disgrace me with regard to my guests; is there not among you one right-minded man? - Shakir, Habib

(ان مہمانوں کا آنا تھا کہ) اس کی قوم کے لوگ بے اختیار اس کے گھر کی طرف دوڑ پڑے پہلے سے وہ ایسی ہی بد کاریوں کے خوگر تھے لوطؑ نے ان سے کہا ——بھائیو، یہ میری بیٹیاں موجود ہیں، یہ تمہارے لیے پاکیزہ تر ہیں کچھ خدا کا خوف کرو اور میرے مہمانوں کے معاملے میں مجھے ذلیل نہ کرو کیا تم میں کوئی بھلا آدمی نہیں؟—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

(The messengers) said: O Lot! Lo! we are messengers of thy Lord; they shall not reach thee. So travel with thy people in a part of the night, and let not one of you turn round - (all) save thy wife. Lo! that which smiteth them will smite her (also). Lo! their tryst is (for) the morning. Is not the morning nigh? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

They said, [O Lot, we are messengers of your Lord. They will never get at you. Set out with your family in a watch of the night; and none of you shall turn round, except your wife; indeed she will be struck by what strikes them. Indeed their tryst is the dawn. Is not the dawn [already] near?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Our Messengers said, [Lot, we are the Messengers of your Lord. They will never harm you. Leave the town with your family in the darkness of night and do not let any of you turn back. As for your wife, she will suffer what they (unbelievers) will suffer. Their appointed time will come at dawn. Surely dawn is not far away! - Sarwar, Muhammad

They said: O Lut! we are the apostles of your Lord; they shall by no means reach you; so remove your followers in a part of the night-- and let none of you turn back-- except your wife, for surely whatsoever befalls them shall befall her; surely their appointed time is the morning; is not the morning nigh? - Shakir, Habib

تب فرشتوں نے اس سے کہا کہ ——اے لوطؑ، ہم تیرے رب کے بھیجے ہوئے فرشتے ہیں، یہ لوگ تیرا کچھ نہ بگاڑ سکیں گے بس تو کچھ رات رہے اپنے اہل و عیال کو لے کر نکل جا اور دیکھو، تم میں سے کوئی شخص پیچھے پلٹ کر نہ دیکھے مگر تیر ی بیوی (ساتھ نہیں جائے گی) کیونکہ اس پر بھی وہی کچھ گزرنے والا ہے جو اِن لوگوں پر گزرنا ہے ان کی تباہی کے لیے صبح کا وقت مقرر ہے صبح ہوتے اب دیر ہی کتنی ہے!—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

تب انہوں (مہمانوں) نے کہا اے لوط(ع) ہم آپ کے پروردگار کے بھیجے ہوئے (فرشتے) ہیں یہ لوگ ہرگز آپ تک نہیں پہنچ سکیں گے تم رات کے کسی حصہ میں اپنے اہل و عیال کو لے کر نکل جاؤ۔ سوائے اپنی بیوی کے اور خبردار تم میں سے کوئی پیچھے مڑ کر نہ دیکھے۔ کیونکہ اس (بیوی) پر وہی عذاب نازل ہونے والا ہے جو ان لوگوں پر نازل ہونے والا ہے اور ان (کے عذاب) کا مقرر وقت صبح ہے کیا صبح (بالکل) قریب نہیں ہے؟ - Najafi, Muhammad

So when Our commandment came to pass We overthrew (that township) and rained upon it stones of clay, one after another, - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And unto Midian (We sent) their brother Shu'eyb. He said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other Allah save Him! And give not short measure and short weight. Lo! I see you well-to-do, and lo! I fear for you the doom of a besetting Day. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And to Midian [We sent] Shu[ayb, their brother. He said, [O my people! Worship Allah. You have no other god besides Him. Do not diminish the measure or the balance. Indeed I see that you are faring well, but I fear for you the punishment of an all-embracing day.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

To the people of Midian We sent their brother Shu'ayb who told them, [My people, worship God; He is your only Lord. Do not be dishonest in your weighing and measuring. I can see you are safe and prosperous, but I am afraid for you of the overwhelming torment of the (appointed) day. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And to Madyan (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than He, and do not give short measure and weight: surely I see you in prosperity and surely I fear for you the punishment of an all-encompassing day. - Shakir, Habib

اور ہم نے مدین کی طرف ان کے بھائی شعیب کو بھیجا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ اے قوم اللہ کی عبادت کر کہ اس کہ علاوہ تیرا کوئی خدا نہیں ہے اور خبردار ناپ تول میں کمی نہ کرنا کہ میں تمہیں بھلائی میں دیکھ رہا ہوں اور میں تمہارے بارے میں اس دن کے عذاب سے ڈرتا ہوں جو سب کو احاطہ کرلے گا - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور مدین والوں کی طرف ہم نے ان کے بھائی شعیبؑ کو بھیجا اُس نے کہا ——اے میری قوم کے لوگو، اللہ کی بندگی کرو، اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی خدا نہیں ہے اور ناپ تول میں کمی نہ کیا کرو آج میں تم کو اچھے حال میں دیکھ رہا ہوں، مگر مجھے ڈر ہے کہ کل تم پر ایسا دن آئے گا جس کا عذاب سب کو گھیر لے گا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور مدین کی طرف ان کے ہم قوم شعیب کو کہا اے میری قوم اللہ کو پوجو اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور ناپ اور تول میں کمی نہ کرو بیشک میں تمہیں آسودہ حال دیکھتا ہوں اور مجھے تم پر گھیر لینے والے دن کا عذاب کا ڈر ہے - Ahmed Raza

اور ہم نے اہلِ مدین کی طرف ان کے بھائی شعیب کو بھیجا انہوں نے کہا اے میری قوم! اللہ کی عبادت کرو۔ اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی الٰہ نہیں ہے اور ناپ تول میں کمی نہ کرو۔ میں تمہیں اچھے حال میں دیکھ رہا ہوں۔ مجھے اندیشہ ہے کہ (کفرانِ نعمت اور غلط کاری سے) عذاب کا ایسا دن نہ آجائے جو سب کو گھیر لے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad
