There doth every soul experience that which it did aforetime, and they are returned unto Allah, their rightful Lord, and that which they used to invent hath failed them. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Who provideth for you from the sky and the earth, or Who owneth hearing and sight; and Who bringeth forth the living from the dead and bringeth forth the dead from the living; and Who directeth the course? They will say: Allah. Then say: Will ye not then keep your duty (unto Him)? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

اِن سے پُوچھو، کون تم کو آسمان اور زمین سے رزق دیتا ہے؟ یہ سماعت اور بینائی کی قوتیں کس کے اختیار میں ہیں؟ کون بے جان میں سے جاندار کو اور جاندار میں سے بے جان کو نکالتا ہے؟ کون اِس نظم عالم کی تدبیر کر رہا ہے؟ وہ ضرور کہیں گے کہ اللہ کہو، پھر تم (حقیقت کے خلاف چلنے سے) پرہیز نہیں کرتے؟ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Such then is Allah, your rightful Lord. After the Truth what is there saving error? How then are ye turned away! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say: Is there of your partners (whom ye ascribe unto Allah) one that produceth Creation and then reproduceth it? Say: Allah produceth Creation, then reproduceth it. How then, are ye misled! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [Is there anyone among your partners who originates the creation and then brings it back?] Say, [Allah originates the creation, then He will bring it back.] Then where do you stray? - Qarai, Ali Quli

is rightful

He be adhered to?

Or is it one who

cannot

guide

except

يُهْدَىٰ
he is guided (first)?

Then what is

with you?

تَحْكُمُونَ
you judge?]

قُلْ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلْحَقِّ ۚ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يَهْدِى لِلْحَقِّ ۗ أَفَمَن يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلْحَقِّ أَحَقُّ أَن يُتَّبَعَ أَمَّن لَّا يَهِدِّىٓ إِلَّآ أَن يُهْدَىٰ ۖ فَمَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ Say, [Is there from your partners anyone who guides towards the fact?] Say, [The One guides for the fact. Then is it not such that, Who guides towards the fact, is rightful that He be adhered to? Or is it one who cannot guide except that he is guided (first)? Then what is with you? How do you judge?]

Say: Is there of your partners (whom ye ascribe unto Allah) one that leadeth to the Truth? Say: Allah leadeth to the Truth. Is He Who leadeth to the Truth more deserving that He should be followed, or he who findeth not the way unless he (himself) be guided. What aileth you? How judge ye? - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Say, [Is there anyone among your partners who may guide to the truth?] Say, [Allah guides to the truth. Is He who guides to the truth worthier to be followed, or he who is not guided unless shown the way? What is the matter with you? How do you judge?] - Qarai, Ali Quli

(Muhammad), ask them, [Can any of your idols guide you to the Truth?] Say, [Only God guides to the Truth.] Is the one who guides to the Truth a proper guide or one who himself cannot find guidance unless he is guided (by others)? اِن سے پُوچھو تمہارے ٹھیرائے ہوئے شریکوں میں کوئی ایسا بھی ہے جو حق کی طرف رہنمائی کرتا ہو؟ کہو وہ صرف اللہ ہے جو حق کی طرف رہنمائی کرتا ہے پھر بھلا بتاؤ، جو حق کی طرف رہنمائی کرتا ہے وہ اِس کا زیادہ مستحق ہے کہ اس کی پیروی کی جائے یا وہ جو خود راہ نہیں پاتا اِلّا یہ کہ اس کی رہنمائی کی جائے؟ آخر تمہیں ہو کیا گیا ہے، کیسے اُلٹے الٹے فیصلے کرتے ہو؟ - Maududi, Abul A'ala

ٱلْحَقِّ
the fact
شَيْـًٔا
a thing,
ۚ
إِنَّ
indeed
ٱللَّهَ
the One is
عَلِيمٌۢ
knowing
بِمَا
with what
يَفْعَلُونَ
your actions are.

٣٦
وَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلَّا ظَنًّا ۚ إِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًٔا ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ And not obey majority of them except assumption; surely the assumption not avails from the fact a thing, indeed the One is knowing with what your actions are.

Most of them follow not but conjecture. Assuredly conjecture can by no means take the place of truth. Lo! Allah is Aware of what they do. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Most of them just follow conjecture; indeed conjecture is no substitute for the truth. Indeed Allah knows best what they do. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Most of the unbelievers follow only conjecture which certainly cannot serve as a substitute for the Truth. God knows well what they do. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And most of them do not follow (anything) but conjecture; surely conjecture will not avail aught against the truth; surely Allah is cognizant of what they do. - Shakir, Habib

حقیقت یہ ہے کہ اِن میں سے اکثر لوگ محض قیاس و گمان کے پیچھے چلے جا رہے ہیں، حالاں کہ گمان حق کی ضرورت کو کچھ بھی پُورا نہیں کرتا جو کچھ یہ کر رہے ہیں اللہ اُس کو خوب جانتا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور ان میں اکثر تو نہیں چلتے مگر گمان پر بیشک گمان حق کا کچھ کام نہیں دیتا، بیشک اللہ ان کاموں کو جانتا ہے، - Ahmed Raza

لوگوں میں اکثر ایسے ہیں جو صرف گمان کی پیروی کرتے ہیں حالانکہ گمان حق کی پہچان اور اس تک رسائی حاصل کرنے میں کچھ فائدہ نہیں دیتا (اور نہ ہی یہ حق و یقین سے بے نیاز کرتا ہے) بے شک اللہ اسے خوب جانتا ہے جو کچھ لوگ کر رہے ہیں۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Proclamatory Reading
أَن
such that
يُفْتَرَىٰ
it can be invented
مِن
from someone who is
دُونِ
beneath
ٱللَّهِ
the One,
وَلَٰكِن
and while
تَصْدِيقَ
confirming
ٱلَّذِى
that which is
بَيْنَ
between
يَدَيْهِ
His hands,
وَتَفْصِيلَ
and details
ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
the Book,
لَا
no
رَيْبَ
doubt is
فِيهِ
in it,
مِن
from
رَّبِّ
Rabb of
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
all the states of being.
١٠
٣٧
وَمَا كَانَ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانُ أَن يُفْتَرَىٰ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِن تَصْدِيقَ ٱلَّذِى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَتَفْصِيلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ مِن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ And not has been this Proclamatory Reading such that it can be invented from someone who is beneath the One, and while confirming that which is between His hands, and details the Book, no doubt is in it, from Rabb of all the states of being.

And this Qur'an is not such as could ever be invented in despite of Allah; but it is a confirmation of that which was before it and an exposition of that which is decreed for mankind - Therein is no doubt - from the Lord of the Worlds. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

This Quran could not have been fabricated by anyone besides Allah; rather, it is a confirmation of what was [revealed] before it, and an elaboration of the Book, there is no doubt in it, from the Lord of all the worlds. - Qarai, Ali Quli

No one could have composed this Quran besides God. This confirms the existing Book (the Bible) and explains itself. There is no doubt that it is from the Lord of the Universe. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And this Quran is not such as could be forged by those besides Allah, but it is a verification of that which is before it and a clear explanation of the book, there is no doubt in it, from the Lord of the worlds. - Shakir, Habib

This Quran is not such as could have been produced by anyone but God. It fulfills that [the predictions] which came before it and gives a fuller explanation of the [earlier] Revelations. There is no doubt about it: it is from the Lord of the Universe. - Wahiduddin Khan

اور یہ قرآن کسی غیر خدا کی طرف سے افترا نہیں ہے بلکہ اپنے ماسبق کی کتابوں کی تصدیق اور تفصیل ہے جس میں کسی شک کی گنجائش نہیں ہے یہ رب العالمین کا نازل کردہ ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اور یہ قرآن وہ چیز نہیں ہے جو اللہ کی وحی و تعلیم کے بغیر تصنیف کر لیا جائے بلکہ یہ تو جو کچھ پہلے آ چکا تھا اس کی تصدیق اور الکتاب کی تفصیل ہے اِس میں کوئی شک نہیں کہ یہ فرمانروائے کائنات کی طرف سے ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور اس قرآن کی یہ شان نہیں کہ کوئی اپنی طرف سے بنالے بے اللہ کے اتارے ہاں وہ اگلی کتابوں کی تصدیق ہے اور لوح میں جو کچھ لکھا ہے سب کی تفصیل ہے اس میں کچھ شک نہیں ہے پروردگار عالم کی طرف سے ہے، - Ahmed Raza

اور یہ قرآن ایسا نہیں ہے کہ اللہ کے سوا کسی اور کی طرف سے گھڑ لیا جائے بلکہ یہ تو تمام سابقہ کتابوں اور وحیوں کی تصدیق ہے اور الکتاب کی تفصیل ہے (یعنی اس میں آسمانی کتابوں کی تعلیم کی تفصیل ہے) اس میں کچھ شک و شبہ نہیں ہے کہ یہ تمام جہانوں کے پروردگار کی طرف سے ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

Or do
يَقُولُونَ
they say,
ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ
[He invented it!]?
ۖ
قُلْ
Say,
فَأْتُوا۟
[Then come forth
بِسُورَةٍۢ
with a surah
مِّثْلِهِۦ
that can be considered at par with it
وَٱدْعُوا۟
and call upon
مَنِ
from
ٱسْتَطَعْتُم
those whom's subordinate you are
مِّن
from
دُونِ
beneath
ٱللَّهِ
the One
إِن
if
كُنتُمْ
you happened to be
صَٰدِقِينَ
truthful people.]
١٠
٣٨
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِسُورَةٍۢ مِّثْلِهِۦ وَٱدْعُوا۟ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ Or do they say, [He invented it!]? Say, [Then come forth with a surah that can be considered at par with it and call upon from those whom's subordinate you are from beneath the One if you happened to be truthful people.]

Or say they: He hath invented it? Say: Then bring a surah like unto it, and call (for help) on all ye can besides Allah, if ye are truthful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Do they say, [He has fabricated it?] Say, [Then bring a surah like it, and invoke whomever you can, besides Allah, should you be truthful.] - Qarai, Ali Quli

Do they say that Muhammad has invented it? (Muhammad), tell them, [If your claim is true, compose only one chapter like it and call on anyone besides God for help. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Or do they say: He has forged it? Say: Then bring a chapter like this and invite whom you can besides Allah, if you are truthful. - Shakir, Habib

Do they say, [He has fabricated it?] Say, [Bring me one chapter like it. Call on whom you may besides God to help you, if what you say be true!] - Wahiduddin Khan

کیا یہ لوگ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ اسے پیغمبر نے گڑھ لیا ہے تو کہہ دیجئے کہ تم اس کے جیسا ایک ہی سورہ لے آؤ اور خدا کے علاوہ جسے چاہو اپنی مدد کے لئے بلالو اگر تم اپنے الزام میں سچے ہو - Jawadi, Zeeshan

کیا یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ پیغمبرؐ نے اسے خود تصنیف کر لیا ہے؟ کہو، “اگر تم اپنے اس الزام میں سچّے ہو تو ایک سُورۃ اس جیسی تصنیف کر لاؤ اور ایک خدا کو چھوڑ کر جس جس کو بُلا سکتے ہو مدد کے لیے بُلا لو—— - Maududi, Abul A'ala

کیا یہ کہتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے اسے بنالیا ہے تم فرماؤ تو اس جیسی کوئی ایک سورة لے آؤ اور اللہ کو چھوڑ کر جو مل سکیں سب کو بلا لاؤ اگر تم سچے ہو، - Ahmed Raza

کیا یہ (کافر) لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ اس شخص (پیغمبرِ اسلام(ص)) نے اسے خود گھڑ لیا ہے؟ آپ کہیے! اگر تم اپنے اس الزام میں سچے ہو تو تم اللہ کے سوا اپنی مدد کے لئے جس جس کو بلا سکتے ہو بلا لو اور پھر قرآن کی مانند ایک ہی سورہ لے آؤ۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

On the contrary,
كَذَّبُوا۟
they continously contradict
بِمَا
regarding what
لَمْ
not
يُحِيطُوا۟
they encompass
بِعِلْمِهِۦ
any knowledge about it,
وَلَمَّا
and what not
يَأْتِهِمْ
comes to them of
تَأْوِيلُهُۥ
its summarization;
ۚ
كَذَٰلِكَ
that is how
كَذَّبَ
contradicted
ٱلَّذِينَ
the ones who
مِن
were from
قَبْلِهِمْ
before them,
ۖ
فَٱنظُرْ
thus see
كَيْفَ
how
كَانَ
was
عَٰقِبَةُ
end of
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the people in darkness.
١٠
٣٩
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يُحِيطُوا۟ بِعِلْمِهِۦ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِهِمْ تَأْوِيلُهُۥ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ On the contrary, they continously contradict regarding what not they encompass any knowledge about it, and what not comes to them of its summarization; that is how contradicted the ones who were from before them, thus see how was end of the people in darkness.

Nay, but they denied that, the knowledge whereof they could not compass, and whereof the interpretation (in events) hath not yet come unto them. Even so did those before them deny. Then see what was the consequence for the wrong-doers! - Pickthall, Marmaduke

Indeed, they deny something whose knowledge they do not comprehend, and whose explanation has not yet come to them. Those who were before them denied likewise. So observe how was the fate of the wrongdoers! - Qarai, Ali Quli

They call a lie something that is beyond the limit of their knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet been revealed. Some people who lived before them also called Our revelations lies. Consider how terrible was the end of the unjust people! - Sarwar, Muhammad

Nay, they reject that of which they have no comprehensive knowledge, and the final sequel of it has not yet come to them; even thus did those before them reject (the truth); see then what was the end of the unjust. - Shakir, Habib

Indeed, they are denying something which they cannot comprehend; the reality not yet having dawned on them. Likewise those before them rejected the truth. But see what was the end of the wrongdoers. - Wahiduddin Khan

درحقیقت ان لوگوں نے اس چیز کی تکذیب کی ہے جس کا مکمل علم بھی نہیں ہے اور اس کی تاویل بھی ان کے پاس نہیں آئی ہے اسی طرح ان کے پہلے والوں نے بھی تکذیب کی تھی اب دیکھو کہ ظلم کرنے والوں کا انجام کیا ہوتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

اصل یہ ہے کہ جو چیز اِن کے علم کی گرفت میں نہیں آئی اور جس کا مآل بھی ان کے سامنے نہیں آیا، اُس کو اِنہوں نے (خوامخواہ اٹکل پچّو) جھٹلا دیا اِسی طرح تو ان سے پہلے کے لوگ بھی جھٹلا چکے ہیں پھر دیکھ لو اُن ظالموں کا کیا انجام ہُوا - Maududi, Abul A'ala

بلکہ اسے جھٹلایا جس کے علم پر قابو نہ پایا اور ابھی انہوں نے اس کا انجام نہیں دیکھا ایسے ہی ان سے اگلوں نے جھٹلایا تھا تو دیکھو ظالموں کیسا انجام ہوا - Ahmed Raza

وَرَبُّكَ
and your Rabb is
أَعْلَمُ
well acknowledged
بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
regarding the corruptors.

وَمِنْهُم مَّن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِۦ وَمِنْهُم مَّن لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِهِۦ ۚ وَرَبُّكَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ And from them are some who have conviction regarding it, and from them are some who not have conviction regarding it; and your Rabb is well acknowledged regarding the corruptors.

ان میں بعض وہ ہیں جو اس پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور بعض نہیں مانتے ہیں اور آپ کا پروردگار فساد کرنے والوں کو خوب جانتا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan
