Not
قَطَعْتُم
you sever
مِّن
from
لِّينَةٍ
relationships (socializing),
أَوْ
or
تَرَكْتُمُوهَا
leave them
قَآئِمَةً
established
عَلَىٰٓ
upon
أُصُولِهَا
their principles,
فَبِإِذْنِ
thus according to command of
ٱللَّهِ
the One,
وَلِيُخْزِىَ
and for humiliating
ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ
the liberals.

مَا قَطَعْتُم مِّن لِّينَةٍ أَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوهَا قَآئِمَةً عَلَىٰٓ أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيُخْزِىَ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ Not you sever from relationships (socializing), or leave them established upon their principles, thus according to command of the One, and for humiliating the liberals.

Whatsoever palm-trees ye cut down or left standing on their roots, it was by Allah's leave, in order that He might confound the evil-livers. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

And that which Allah gave as spoil unto His messenger from them, ye urged not any horse or riding-camel for the sake thereof, but Allah giveth His messenger lordship over whom He will. Allah is Able to do all things. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The spoils that Allah gave to His Apostle from them, you did not spur any horse for its sake, nor any riding camel, but Allah makes His apostles prevail over whomever He wishes, and Allah has power over all things. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Since you did not have to exhaust your horses and camels or (even fight), God granted to His Messenger their property. God gives authority to His Messenger over whomever He wants. God has power over all things. - Sarwar, Muhammad

And whatever Allah restored to His Apostle from them you did not press forward against it any horse or a riding camel but Allah gives authority to His apostles against whom He pleases, and Allah has power over all things. - Shakir, Habib

اور جو مال اللہ نے اُن کے قبضے سے نکال کر اپنے رسول کی طرف پلٹا دیے، وہ ایسے مال نہیں ہیں جن پر تم نے اپنے گھوڑے اور اونٹ دوڑائے ہوں، بلکہ اللہ اپنے رسولوں کو جس پر چاہتا ہے تسلط عطا فرما دیتا ہے، اور اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

اور جو غنیمت دلائی اللہ نے اپنے رسول کو ان سے تو تم نے ان پر نہ اپنے گھوڑے دوڑائے تھے اور نہ اونٹ ہاں اللہ اپنے رسولوں کے قابو میں دے دیتا ہے جسے چاہے اور اللہ سب کچھ کرسکتا ہے، - Ahmed Raza

That which Allah giveth as spoil unto His messenger from the people of the townships, it is for Allah and His messenger and for the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, that it become not a commodity between the rich among you. And whatsoever the messenger giveth you, take it. And whatsoever he forbiddeth, abstain (from it). And keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is stern in reprisal. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

The spoils that Allah gave to His Apostle from the people of the townships, are for Allah and the Apostle, the relatives and the orphans, the needy and the traveller, so that they do not circulate among the rich among you. Take whatever the Apostle gives you, and refrain from whatever he forbids you, and be wary of Allah. Indeed Allah is severe in retribution. - Qarai, Ali Quli

Whatever God grants to His Messenger (out of the property) of the people of the towns, belongs to God, the Messenger, the kinsfolk, the orphans, the destitute and to those who may become needy while on a journey, so that it will not circulate only in the hands of rich ones among them. Take only what the Messenger gives to you and desist from what he forbids you. Have fear of God; God is severe in His retribution. - Sarwar, Muhammad

Whatever Allah has restored to His Apostle from the people of the towns, it is for Allah and for the Apostle, and for the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, so that it may not be a thing taken by turns among the rich of you, and whatever the Apostle gives you, accept it, and from whatever he forbids you, keep back, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is severe in retributing (evil): - Shakir, Habib

تو کچھ بھی اللہ نے اہل قریہ کی طرف سے اپنے رسول کو دلوایا ہے وہ سب اللہ ,رسول اور رسول کے قرابتدار, ایتام, مساکین اور مسافران غربت زدہ کے لئے ہے تاکہ سارا مال صرف مالداروں کے درمیان گھوم پھر کر نہ رہ جائے اور جو کچھ بھی رسول تمہیں دیدے اسے لے لو اور جس چیز سے منع کردے اس سے رک جاؤ اور اللہ سے ڈرو کہ اللہ سخت عذاب کرنے والا ہے - Jawadi, Zeeshan

جو کچھ بھی اللہ اِن بستیوں کے لوگوں سے اپنے رسول کی طرف پلٹا دے وہ اللہ اور رسول اور رشتہ داروں اور یتامیٰ اور مساکین اور مسافروں کے لیے ہے تاکہ وہ تمہارے مالداروں ہی کے درمیان گردش نہ کرتا رہے جو کچھ رسولؐ تمھیں دے وہ لے لو اور جس چیز سے وہ تم کو روک دے اس سے رک جاؤ اللہ سے ڈرو، اللہ سخت سزا دینے والا ہے - Maududi, Abul A'ala

جو غنیمت دلائی اللہ نے اپنے رسول کو شہر والوں سے وہ اللہ اور رسول کی ہے اور رشتہ داروں اور یتیموں اور مسکینوں اور مسافروں کے لیے کہ تمہارے اغنیا کا مال نہ جائے (ف اور جو کچھ تمہیں رسول عطا فرمائیں وہ لو اور جس سے منع فرمائیں باز رہو، اور اللہ سے ڈرو بیشک اللہ کا عذاب سخت ہے - Ahmed Raza

تو اللہ نے ان بستیوں والوں کی طرف سے جو مال بطور فئے اپنے رسول(ص) کو دلوایا ہے وہ بس اللہ کا ہے اور پیغمبر(ص) کا اور(رسول(ص) کے) قرابتداروں (ان کے) یتیموں اور (ان کے) مسکینوں اور مسافروں کا ہے تاکہ وہ مالِ فئے تمہارے دولتمندوں کے درمیان ہی گردش نہ کرتا رہے اور جو کچھ رسول(ص) تمہیں دیں وہ لے لو اور جس سے منع کریں اس سے رک جاؤ اور اللہ (کی نافرمانی) سے ڈرو۔ بےشک اللہ سخت سزا دینے والا ہے۔ - Najafi, Muhammad

لِلْفُقَرَآءِ ٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ وَأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًۭا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنًۭا وَيَنصُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلصَّٰدِقُونَ [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated] [untranslated]

And (it is) for the poor fugitives who have been driven out from their homes and their belongings, who seek bounty from Allah and help Allah and His messenger. They are the loyal. - Pickthall, Marmaduke
⦿
[They are also] for the poor Emigrants who have been expelled from their homes and [wrested of] their possessions, who seek grace from Allah and [His] pleasure and help Allah and His Apostle. It is they who are the truthful. - Qarai, Ali Quli

The poor immigrants who were deprived of their homes and property, who seek favors and pleasures from God, and help Him and His Messenger will also have (a share in the said property). These people are the truthful ones. - Sarwar, Muhammad

(It is) for the poor who fled their homes and their possessions, seeking grace of Allah and (His) pleasure, and assisting Allah and His Apostle: these it is that are the truthful. - Shakir, Habib

It is for the poor refugees who were driven from their homes and possessions, desiring the favour and the pleasure of God and supporting God and His Messenger. Such people are the truthful. - Wahiduddin Khan

یہ مال ان مہاجر فقرائ کے لئے بھی ہے جنہیں ان کے گھروں اور اموال سے نکال باہر کردیا گیا ہے اور وہ صرف خدا کے فضل اور اس کی مرضی کے طلبگار ہیں اور خدا و رسول کی مدد کرنے والے ہیں کہ یہی لوگ دعوائے ایمان میں سچے ہیں - Jawadi, Zeeshan

(نیز وہ مال) اُن غریب مہاجرین کے لیے ہے جو اپنے گھروں اور جائدادوں سے نکال باہر کیے گئے ہیں یہ لوگ اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی خوشنودی چاہتے ہیں اور اللہ اور اُس کے رسولؐ کی حمایت پر کمر بستہ رہتے ہیں یہی راستباز لوگ ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

ان فقیر ہجرت کرنے والوں کے لیے جو اپنے گھروں اور مالوں سے نکالے گئے اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رضا چاہتے اور اللہ و رسول کی مدد کرتے وہی سچے ہیں - Ahmed Raza

Those who entered the city and the faith before them love those who flee unto them for refuge, and find in their breasts no need for that which hath been given them, but prefer (the fugitives) above themselves though poverty become their lot. And whoso is saved from his own avarice - such are they who are successful. - Pickthall, Marmaduke

[They are as well] for those who were settled in the land and [abided] in faith before them, who love those who migrate toward them, and do not find in their breasts any privation for that which is given to them, but prefer [the Immigrants] to themselves, though poverty be their own lot. Those who established a community center and embraced the faith before the arrival of the immigrants love those who have come to their town. They are not jealous of what is given to the immigrants. They give preference to them over themselves - even concerning the things that they themselves urgently need. Whoever controls his greed will have everlasting happiness. - Sarwar, Muhammad

(اور وہ اُن لوگوں کے لیے بھی ہے) جو اِن مہاجرین کی آمد سے پہلے ہی ایمان لا کر دارالحجرت میں مقیم تھے یہ اُن لوگوں سے محبت کرتے ہیں جو ہجرت کر کے اِن کے پاس آئے ہیں اور جو کچھ بھی اُن کو دیدیا جائے اُس کی کوئی حاجت تک یہ اپنے دلوں میں محسوس نہیں کرتے اور اپنی ذات پر دوسروں کو ترجیح دیتے ہیں خواہ اپنی جگہ خود محتاج ہوں حقیقت یہ ہے کہ جو لوگ اپنے دل کی تنگی سے بچا لیے گئے وہی فلاح پانے والے ہیں - Maududi, Abul A'ala

Hast thou not observed those who are hypocrites, (how) they tell their brethren who disbelieve among the People of the Scripture: If ye are driven out, we surely will go out with you, and we will never obey anyone against you, and if ye are attacked we verily will help you.
